Rhema University Marketing Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Rhema University, Aba has not published a Marketing cut-off, so JAMB’s 150 is the official minimum. See the safe target score, UTME subjects, the two-sitting O’level rule, Direct Entry and screening.

For anyone searching the Rhema University Marketing cut-off mark 2027/2028, the official figure is 150 in the UTME, the minimum JAMB set for all universities at its 2026 policy meeting. Rhema University, Aba has not released its own cut-off for B.Sc. Marketing, and it does not appear on the list of institutions that declared their own figures at that meeting. A score of 150 or more, Rhema as your choice and the right O’level credits make you eligible to apply.

2027/2028 update: Rhema cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Marketing suits candidates who like business but would rather deal with customers, brands, sales and media than with ledgers. At Rhema, the admissions page also caps your Marketing O’level at two sittings, a limit it does not state for Economics, Banking and Finance or Accounting. Read on for the official numbers, a safe target score, the exact subjects, Direct Entry, screening, a worked example, the CAPS steps and what the degree leads to.

An old 2018/2019 “Rhema cut-off for all courses” list is still copied on blogs. It quotes no Rhema document, so do not rely on it.

Safe target score for Marketing at Rhema (my advice)

Marketing is rarely the most crowded course at any Nigerian university, and Rhema, as a private school, usually has more room than the large federal universities nearby. That said, 150 only makes you eligible. These bands are my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a Rhema rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Rhema Marketing
Below 150Not eligible through UTME
150 to 159Eligible; a clean O’level in two sittings or fewer matters most
160 to 179Reasonable chance
180 to 199Good chance
200 and aboveStrong

My recommendation for the 2027 UTME is 180 or more. That gives you room even if Rhema raises the bar in a busy year, and it keeps state universities open if you change your mind.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Rhema Marketing

RequirementMarketing at Rhema
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics, Economics, plus one other relevant subject
Rhema remark on JAMB brochureNone for this course
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, plus two other relevant subjects
SittingsNot more than two (stated on Rhema’s page)
Exams acceptedWASSCE or NECO SSCE
Entry modesUTME into 100 level; Direct Entry into 200 level

Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB brochure lists Mathematics, Economics and one other relevant subject for Marketing, with Use of English compulsory. The brochure’s own O’level rule is five credits including English and Mathematics plus three relevant subjects. Rhema’s page is a little stricter because it fixes Economics as one of the five.

Which fourth UTME subject should you take?

JAMB’s wording, “one other relevant subject”, is vague. For a business course like Marketing, the subjects that sit most naturally with it are Government, Commerce, Geography and Principles of Accounting. My advice:

  • Pick a subject you also passed at credit in WAEC or NECO, so your UTME and O’level tell the same story.
  • Commerce or Government are the usual safe picks for commercial and arts students.
  • Check the JAMB e-brochure on the day you register, because the CBT centre will only accept a combination JAMB allows for Marketing.

The two-sitting rule

Rhema’s admissions page says the Marketing credits must come from not more than two sittings. You can combine, for example, a WAEC result with a NECO result or a GCE, but a third exam will not be accepted. If you are still missing a credit after two attempts, talk to Rhema before writing a third exam.

Direct Entry into Marketing

Direct Entry candidates join at 200 level. Rhema asks for five O’level credits plus one of:

  • A-level GCE passes in at least two relevant subjects
  • IJMB
  • NCE in relevant subjects
  • ND at upper credit in a relevant field
  • HND at lower credit in a relevant field
  • A first degree in a related field

The JAMB brochure’s general Direct Entry rule for Marketing is two A-level passes chosen from Accounting, Management, Government and Geography. Rhema has no special remark, so build your IJMB or JUPEB subjects from that list. ND and HND holders in Marketing, Business Administration or Purchasing should confirm with Rhema that their field counts as relevant.

Rhema post-UTME and screening for Marketing

Rhema has not published a screening procedure for Marketing in any source I reached. The one screening notice I could confirm, reprinted by Myschool on 10 September 2025, was for MBBS and Nursing candidates. It held on 16 September 2025 at the Academic Block in Aba, with extra centres in Abuja (Gwarimpa) and Lagos (Ojodu Berger), and candidates were told to bring a passport photograph and writing materials.

Some blogs say every Rhema applicant sits a computer-based test. They cite no notice from the university, and one of them quotes two different form prices. For Marketing, apply early on the portal and ask the admissions office whether there is a test or interview.

Worked example (illustrative only)

Rhema has not published an aggregate formula. Below I compare two candidates with the 150 floor and my 180 target. In case a test is held, I also use the 50:50 method common at Nigerian universities (UTME divided by 8, plus half the screening percentage). It is my illustration, not Rhema’s rule.

  1. Uchenna: UTME 171, which is 21 above the floor and 9 below my target. Credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Government across WAEC and NECO, so two sittings. He qualifies.
  2. If there is a test: Uchenna scores 62%. 171 ÷ 8 = 21.4, plus 31, gives an illustrative aggregate of 52.4.
  3. Adaeze: UTME 158 (19.8) and 76% at screening (38), for 57.8. A strong test would carry her ahead.
  4. Kenechukwu: UTME 190, but his Mathematics credit came from a third sitting. Under Rhema’s two-sitting rule he would not qualify for Marketing, whatever his score.

Marketing or another business course at Rhema?

Rhema’s admissions page lists Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics and Marketing in the same group of business courses. The O’level lists differ, which can help you choose.

How to apply for Marketing at Rhema, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with the profile code you use to buy the UTME form.
  2. Register the UTME: pick Marketing with Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and one other relevant subject (Government or Commerce are common picks; confirm on the e-brochure), and choose Rhema University. If you already chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution; if you registered a different course, see our JAMB change of course guide.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre with your WAEC or NECO result. If you used two sittings, upload both. Without this upload, Rhema cannot send you an offer.
  4. Apply on Rhema’s portal: on rhemauniversity.edu.ng, open Admissions, click “Apply Now”, sign in, fill the form for Marketing and print the acknowledgement slip.
  5. Confirm any screening: call 08107159322 or 08076846648 and ask whether Marketing candidates sit a test or interview that year, and where.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept in 2026. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear: Rhema does not publish its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Get the amount from the university itself, pay only into its official account, then go for clearance with your original documents.

Warning

Blogs quote different prices for Rhema’s admission form, and some carry “admission” adverts with email addresses that are not Rhema’s. Pay only what Rhema’s own portal or admissions office tells you, ignore agents who promise a place, and remember that a genuine offer always shows on JAMB CAPS.

Studying Marketing at Rhema University

Rhema University is a private Christian university in Aba, established in 2010 according to its own news page. It awards a B.Sc. in Marketing. The admissions page does not state the duration or name the college; in Nigeria the degree normally takes four years through UTME and three through Direct Entry.

Accreditation

Rhema’s admissions page says all its courses are accredited by the National Universities Commission and relevant professional bodies. I could not find a published NUC accreditation result for B.Sc. Marketing at Rhema, so treat the current status as not confirmed and ask the department before you pay. Ask too whether the course earns any exemptions from the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) exams; I found none published.

What you study

  • 100 level: introduction to business, principles of economics, business mathematics, accounting basics and general studies.
  • Core marketing: principles of marketing, consumer behaviour, marketing research, product and brand management, pricing and sales management.
  • Communication: advertising, public relations, sales promotion and, increasingly, digital and social media marketing.
  • Specialised areas: international marketing, services marketing, retail and distribution, and marketing of financial services.
  • Final year: marketing strategy, electives and a research project.

Careers after Marketing

Marketing graduates work in sales and business development, brand and product management in manufacturing and FMCG companies, advertising and media agencies, digital marketing and social media management, market research firms, and customer relations in banks and telecoms. Some start their own businesses. NIMN membership exams are the usual professional route.

Mistakes Marketing applicants make

  • Using three sittings: Rhema caps Marketing at two.
  • No Economics credit: it is one of the named subjects on Rhema’s list.
  • Registering a fourth UTME subject you never studied: it will drag your score down.
  • Assuming 150 means automatic admission: it is only the minimum to apply.
  • Missing the CAPS acceptance window: JAMB gave four weeks in 2026.

Rhema University Marketing cut-off mark 2027: frequently asked questions

Is 150 enough for Marketing at Rhema University? 150 is the minimum JAMB allows, so it makes you eligible. Rhema has not published a departmental cut-off; I would aim for 180 or more to be safe.

What JAMB subjects do I need for Marketing? Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and one other relevant subject, according to the JAMB brochure. Government or Commerce are common choices, but confirm on the e-brochure when you register.

Can I combine WAEC and NECO for Marketing at Rhema? Yes. Rhema accepts Marketing credits from not more than two sittings, so WAEC plus NECO is fine, but a third result is not.

Does Rhema accept HND for Marketing Direct Entry? Yes. Rhema lists an HND at lower credit in a relevant field, along with five O’level credits, for Direct Entry into 200 level.

Sources and updates

The O’level list, the two-sitting limit, Direct Entry options, 200-level entry, the “Apply Now” route, the number 08076846648 and Rhema’s general accreditation statement come from Rhema University’s admissions page (undated, checked 29 October 2026). The UTME subjects and general O’level and Direct Entry rules come from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB brochure entry for Marketing (university), checked 29 October 2026; Rhema has no remark on it. Myschool’s copy of JAMB’s Rhema course list shows Marketing. The MBBS and Nursing screening of 16 September 2025 and the number 08107159322 are from Myschool’s reprint of Rhema’s notice (10 September 2025). The national minimum of 150 and the four-week CAPS window come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026); News Central’s list of declared cut-offs from that meeting does not include Rhema. The safe target score, worked example, fourth-subject suggestions and comparison table are my advice. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated if Rhema publishes a Marketing cut-off or screening notice.
