FUAHSE Community Health Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

FUAHSE set 170 as the cut-off mark for Community Health. See the official list, a safe target, JAMB subjects, O’level rules, screening, CAPS steps and what is still unconfirmed about NUC and CHPRBN.

The FUAHSE Community Health cut-off mark is 170 in the UTME. The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) listed Community Health at 170 on its official 2026/2027 UTME admission cut-off list, the same line as Speech Therapy and Health Information, and 30 marks below Public Health.

2027/2028 update: FUAHSE cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Community Health is new at FUAHSE and has gaps in its public record. This is what I could confirm on 30 October 2026:

  • FUAHSE’s own list: yes. Community Health is on the official 2026/2027 cut-off page at 170 (listed there as “Community Health”).
  • NUC approval: not confirmed for this course. It was not among the first 16 programmes NUC approved in December 2024, and it was not one of the three courses named when the Vice-Chancellor said in May 2026 that 11 newer programmes had been approved.
  • JAMB: not confirmed. JAMB’s university entry called Community Health is empty on the Myschool reprint, and I could not open JAMB’s list of FUAHSE courses.
  • Professional regulator: the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) regulates community health practice, but its public pages talk about colleges and teaching hospitals, not degrees, and I found no record naming FUAHSE.

Keep a backup that is better documented: ESUT Public Health (180 to apply in 2026/2027), SUMAS Public Health (150) and FUAHSE’s own Public Health at 200 all use the same science subjects.

Check before you pay

Before you pay an acceptance fee for Community Health at FUAHSE, ask the admissions office in writing whether NUC has approved the course and how it appears on JAMB CAPS. Pay only through an invoice from eportal.fuahse.edu.ng, and only after the offer shows on CAPS.

All FUAHSE cut-off marks for 2026/2027

260Nursing Science

180Health Care Management, Occupational Therapy, Parasitology and Entomology, Water Hygiene and Sanitation
170Speech Therapy, Community Health, Health Information
150Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology

In the Faculty of Healthcare Services, Community Health has the lowest line. Nursing Science needs 260, Radiography 240, Medical Laboratory Science 230, Public Health 200 and Water Hygiene and Sanitation 180. For a candidate in the 170s who wants a health course at a federal university, that makes Community Health one of the few realistic options at FUAHSE.

Safe target score for Community Health at FUAHSE (my advice)

FUAHSE does not publish the score of its last admitted candidate. These ranges are my judgement.

Your UTME scoreMy read for FUAHSE Community Health
Below 170Not eligible; consider FUAHSE’s 150 courses or SUMAS Public Health
170 to 179Eligible, near the line
180 to 199Competitive
200 and aboveStrong (you also clear Public Health)

For the 2027 UTME, I would aim for at least 185, ideally 190. Community Health sits below every nursing and laboratory course at FUAHSE, so it is where many applicants who miss those courses are likely to be offered a place, and they bring higher scores with them.

Catchment and quota

FUAHSE has not published a catchment list or a quota for Community Health. Plan on merit.

UTME subject combination and O’level for FUAHSE Community Health

JAMB’s brochure, as reprinted by Myschool, has a university entry named Community Health, but every section of it was empty when I read it on 30 October 2026. The nearest complete entry is Public and Community Health:

RequirementClosest JAMB entry: Public and Community Health
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
O’levelFive credits: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English Language
Direct Entry (JAMB general)Two A’level passes from Biology or Zoology, Chemistry and Physics, plus O’level credits in Mathematics, Physics and English; or an NRN or approved equivalent with five relevant O’level credits
Direct Entry (FUAHSE notice)ND, HND or first degree plus relevant O’level credits
SittingsNot stated by FUAHSE

Some sites say Physics is optional for Community Health (“Physics or Mathematics”). I found no JAMB entry that says so. Register Physics, Chemistry and Biology: it matches the nearest JAMB entry and keeps every FUAHSE health course open to you if you need a change of course.

Course name to pick on JAMB: JAMB’s brochure lists this course as Community Health (entry empty) or Public and Community Health, and FUAHSE’s cut-off page calls it Community Health. I could not open JAMB’s own list of FUAHSE courses (the Myschool reprint would not load for me), so I can’t confirm that the course appears under FUAHSE on JAMB’s portal or exactly how it is spelt there. At registration, ask the centre to show FUAHSE’s course options on screen. If the course is not there, do not pick a look-alike; choose another course or school and plan a change of course once FUAHSE confirms the course is on JAMB’s list.

Direct Entry needs a direct question. Many people who want this degree are already Community Health Officers or Community Health Extension Workers with a diploma. FUAHSE’s notice only spoke of ND, HND and first-degree holders in general, so ask the admissions office whether a CHO or CHEW certificate counts and at which level it would admit you before you buy a Direct Entry form.

Worked example for a Community Health candidate

FUAHSE has not published an aggregate formula, so compare your score with 170 and with my safe target.

Take Obiageli, who scored 183 with B3 in Biology, C4 in Chemistry, C5 in Physics, B3 in English and C4 in Mathematics, all in one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 183 minus 170 = 13. She clears the Community Health cut-off by 13 marks.
  2. Against my safe target: 183 minus 185 = minus 2. She is eligible but just under my safe range, so she should track CAPS closely.
  3. O’level check: all five science-relevant credits in one sitting, uploaded to CAPS.
  4. Backup: she also qualifies for ESUT Public Health (180) and SUMAS Public Health (150) and keeps them in mind.

Ifeanyi scored 202. He clears Community Health by 32 marks and also clears FUAHSE Public Health (200), so he should decide which of the two he wants before registration, not after.

How to apply for Community Health at FUAHSE, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the UTME: choose FUAHSE and Community Health (or the name FUAHSE confirms on JAMB’s portal), with Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If FUAHSE was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before its screening form opens.
  3. Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre, early. Universities read your grades from CAPS.
  4. Fill the FUAHSE screening form: go to eportal.fuahse.edu.ng and open the Post-UTME application form for the session. UTME candidates enter their JAMB registration number; Direct Entry candidates start with a phone number. Blogs reported a fee of ₦2,000 for 2026/2027; the invoice the portal generates is what counts.
  5. Print your slip and keep checking: FUAHSE has not published whether it holds a test, so watch the portal and the official admissions page after you submit.
  6. Check your status: use FUAHSE’s admission status page and JAMB CAPS. An offer is only real once it appears on CAPS.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. JAMB gives candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear: FUAHSE has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the FUAHSE e-portal, and keep every receipt for clearance.

FUAHSE’s admissions page also warns that fake admission information about the university circulates on Facebook. Use only fuahse.edu.ng/admissions and the e-portal, and treat an offer as real only when it shows on JAMB CAPS. In July 2025 the management said that giving or collecting money for admission is forbidden, as Myschool reported.

FUAHSE is a federal university, so its 2026/2027 admissions fell under the deadline JAMB set for public universities. JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities (News Agency of Nigeria, 11 May 2026). JAMB announces each year’s deadlines at its annual policy meeting, so the 2027/2028 date will come from the 2027 meeting. I found no report of when FUAHSE uploaded its 2026/2027 list. If you applied in 2026, CAPS is where your result shows, and our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.

Studying Community Health at FUAHSE

Community Health sits in FUAHSE’s Faculty of Healthcare Services with Nursing Science, Public Health, Radiography, Medical Laboratory Science, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Complementary and Alternative Medicine. FUAHSE’s own introduction page says the university was established on 14 March 2024 from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, has six faculties, and plans for its graduates to leave with a bachelor’s degree plus a professional diploma in an entrepreneurial venture. FUAHSE has not published the duration or curriculum.

Is FUAHSE Community Health approved?

  • March 2024: the Federal Government approved the upgrade of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Trans-Ekulu, into FUAHSE.
  • October 2024: an NUC team began checking 18 of the 22 programmes FUAHSE’s Senate had approved for take-off in 2024/2025, using NUC’s Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards as the yardstick (The Sun, 31 October 2024).
  • December 2024: FUAHSE announced NUC approval for its first 16 degree programmes. Community Health was not on that list, and it was not in the 2025/2026 intake either.
  • May 2026: the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Emaimo, said NUC approval now covered 27 programmes: the original 16 plus 11 newer ones. The report named only Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering among the 11. Community Health was not named (The Sun, 9 May 2026).
  • 2026/2027: FUAHSE’s official cut-off list carries 28 courses, the original 16 plus 12 newer ones. That is one more than the 27 approvals the Vice-Chancellor described.

The course is on FUAHSE’s official list, but no public source I found names it as NUC-approved. Ask the admissions office for the approval letter or a written confirmation.

CHPRBN and licensing

The CHPRBN was set up by Decree 61 of 1992 (now CAP C19, Laws of the Federation 2004) to regulate community health practice. Its pages name three cadres, Community Health Officers, Community Health Extension Workers and Junior Community Health Extension Workers, and say it has accredited 161 colleges and schools of health technology and 16 teaching hospitals for CHO training. They say nothing about university degrees. The board has worked with at least one university: in April 2021 it made an advisory and resource verification visit to Bayelsa Medical University. How a B.Sc. Community Health graduate gets registered is not spelt out anywhere I could find, so ask FUAHSE what licence its graduates will hold.

What you study

  • Basic sciences: anatomy, physiology, microbiology and biostatistics.
  • Primary health care: how health centres work, essential drugs and referral.
  • Prevention: immunisation, maternal and child health, nutrition and health education.
  • Epidemiology: tracking disease in a community and responding to outbreaks.
  • Field postings: community diagnosis and supervised work in rural and urban health centres.

That outline describes community health training in general; FUAHSE has not released its own course list.

Careers

Graduates work in primary health care centres, local government health departments, state primary health care agencies, NGOs running immunisation or maternal health programmes, and health education. A master’s in Public Health is the common next step.

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus, then read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and what to do with your JAMB score if you are planning a fresh attempt in 2027.

FUAHSE Community Health or Public Health?

Option2026/2027 figureWhat to weigh
FUAHSE Community Health170 (course cut-off)New course; NUC approval not confirmed
FUAHSE Public Health200 (course cut-off)Among the first 16 NUC-approved programmes
ESUT Public Health180 to applyState university in Enugu
SUMAS Public Health150 to applyState university in Igbo-Eno; NUC-approved, accreditation visit due

My view: if you scored 200 or more, Public Health at FUAHSE has the stronger paper trail. Between 170 and 199, Community Health is a fair choice if FUAHSE confirms its approval in writing; otherwise ESUT or SUMAS Public Health is the safer path. Our guide to JAMB change of institution explains how to switch before screening.

Mistakes that cost Community Health applicants

  • Dropping Physics: no JAMB entry I found makes Physics optional for this course.
  • Assuming a CHEW certificate is Direct Entry: confirm with FUAHSE before paying.
  • Reading 150 as the course mark: 150 opened the form; Community Health needed 170.
  • Paying before the offer is on CAPS: FUAHSE has warned about fake Facebook posts and admission racketeering.

FUAHSE Community Health cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Is 170 enough for Community Health at FUAHSE? 170 is the 2026/2027 cut-off, so it makes you eligible. It is the bare minimum, and I would aim for 185 or more to be safe.

Is Physics compulsory for Community Health in JAMB? The closest complete JAMB entry, Public and Community Health, lists Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I found no entry that lets you replace Physics.

Can a CHEW or CHO apply for Community Health at FUAHSE through Direct Entry? FUAHSE has not said. Its notice accepted ND, HND and first-degree holders in general, so ask the admissions office before buying the form.

Is Community Health the same as Public Health? They overlap. Community Health focuses on primary health care and work in communities, while Public Health is broader; at FUAHSE they also have different cut-offs, 170 and 200.

The 2026/2027 course cut-offs come from FUAHSE’s e-portal page 2026-2027 UTME Admission Cutoff Mark, read on 30 October 2026. The 150 minimum, the 8 June to 19 August 2026 window and the Direct Entry routes come from Myschool (4 June 2026); the ₦2,000 fee is from AbsTechConnect (June 2026) and is unofficial. FUAHSE’s official channels and the Facebook warning are on its admissions page; its July 2025 warning against admission racketeering was reported by Myschool. The national minimum of 150, the 31 October 2026 deadline for public universities and the four-week CAPS acceptance window come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). The approval history comes from The Sun (31 October 2024), FUAHSE’s own news report of its first 16 programmes (also reported by Journalist101 and Vanguard on 19 December 2024) and The Sun (9 May 2026).
