The Fed Poly Isuochi Civil Engineering Technology cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi’s 2026/2027 advert asks for a UTME score of 100 and above for every programme, and that is also JAMB’s 2026 minimum for polytechnics. No separate Civil Engineering figure has been published.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Isuochi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Civil Engineering Technology is listed under the School of Environment Design and Engineering Technology in the polytechnic’s 2026/2027 advert, next to Building Technology, Computer Engineering Technology and EEE. The school opened in 2022, so there are no merit lists or score histories to study yet. This guide gives you the confirmed facts, the subject rules from JAMB’s brochure, how the application works, and a safe target score that is clearly my own advice.

Fed Poly Isuochi Civil Engineering Technology cut-off history

|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | “Score of 100 and above” in Fed Poly Isuochi’s admission advert | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |

So 100 is the only number the school and JAMB have used. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published merit lists with scores, so no one outside its admissions office knows the lowest score that actually got into Civil Engineering Technology. Treat any blog that quotes a precise departmental figure with suspicion unless it links to a school notice.
Safe target score for Civil Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi (my advice)
These bands are my own advice as an admissions adviser. Fed Poly Isuochi has published nothing like them.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Civil Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course |
| 100 to 114 | Eligible, but borderline |
| 115 to 124 | Fair chance |
| 125 to 144 | Good chance |
| 145 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 125 or more. Civil Engineering Technology usually draws fewer applicants than EEE or Computer Science at polytechnics in the South East, and a new federal polytechnic in a rural LGA is unlikely to be swamped. Still, the school decides how many it takes, and a score well above 100 protects you if the first intake is small.
Does state of origin matter?
Fed Poly Isuochi is a federal institution, so it admits candidates from every state. It has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. I would not plan around an indigene advantage unless the school’s own notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Isuochi Civil Engineering Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Civil Engineering Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (brochure wording) | Use of English plus “Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry” |
| Any waiver for Fed Poly Isuochi | None. Remarks name schools such as Ilaro and Yabatech (Technical Drawing for Chemistry), not Isuochi |
| O’level core credits | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry |
| Two more credits from | A list that includes Biology/Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Woodwork, Further Mathematics and Geography |
| English Language | Credit required by the brochure and by the Fed Poly Isuochi advert |
| Fed Poly Isuochi advert rule | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings |
Register English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for the UTME. Some polytechnics accept Technical Drawing in place of Chemistry (Ilaro and Yabatech, according to the brochure remarks), and Bauchi Poly allows a wider choice. None of those remarks mention Fed Poly Isuochi, so the main line applies to you. Revise with our JAMB Chemistry syllabus.
For O’level, you need credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, two more from the brochure list, and a credit in English Language. The cleanest set is English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing (or Further Mathematics, Geography or Biology if you did not take Technical Drawing). All five must come from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in no more than two sittings.
Direct Entry, HND and the Basic Studies programme
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Civil Engineering Technology admission is through the UTME and JAMB CAPS only. The 2026/2027 advert lists ND programmes only, so Fed Poly Isuochi does not appear to run an HND in Civil Engineering Technology yet. After the ND, the standard NBTE route is one year of industrial attachment and then an HND application, usually needing at least a Lower Credit, at a polytechnic that offers the HND. HND admission is handled by the polytechnic directly, outside CAPS.
The same advert lists a Basic Studies Programme under the School of Business and General Studies. That kind of programme is usually a pre-ND route for candidates still fixing their O’level. The advert gives no entry rules for it, so ask the Admission Unit before you count on it.
How Fed Poly Isuochi screening works for Civil Engineering Technology
The 2026/2027 advert is short. It tells you how to apply and what you need, but it does not mention a screening test, a closing date or an admission list date. Here is what is confirmed and what is not.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who sat the UTME and scored 100 or above | Official (advert) |
| O’level | Five credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings | Official (advert) |
| O’level upload | Results must be uploaded to the JAMB portal (CAPS) | Official (advert) |
| Form fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable | Official (advert) |
| Where to apply | Online at fedpis.edu.ng, or the Admission Unit, Nkwoagu Temporary Site, Abia State | Official (advert) |
| Enquiries | 07034376858, 07034200093, registrar@fedpis.edu.ng | Official (advert) |
| Screening test | Not stated | Unknown |
| Closing date | Not stated | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
Because the advert names no test, I expect selection to rest on your UTME score, your O’level grades and the number of places in each course. If the school schedules a test or a document check, it will announce it on its portal, so keep your login details safe after you pay.
Worked example for an ND Civil Engineering Technology applicant
Take Obinna, who scored 129 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. His WAEC from one sitting has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.
- Eligibility: 129 minus 100 = 29. Comfortably above the school’s minimum.
- Against my safe target: 129 minus 125 = 4. That puts the score in my good band.
- UTME combination: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry match the brochure line for Fed Poly Isuochi.
- O’level check: the credits cover the advert’s English and Mathematics rule and the brochure’s core subjects for Civil Engineering Technology.
Fed Poly Isuochi has not published how it ranks applicants. Many polytechnics combine the UTME score with O’level grade points, so here is one way that could look. Divide the UTME score by 8 to get a mark out of 50, then add points for five relevant O’level grades (A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5) for another mark out of 50.
| Subject | Grade | Points |
|---|---|---|
| English Language | C6 | 5 |
| Mathematics | C4 | 7 |
| Physics | B3 | 8 |
| Chemistry | C5 | 6 |
| Technical Drawing | B2 | 9 |
| Total O’level points | 35 |
Obinna’s UTME part is 129 ÷ 8 = 16.1, and the O’level part is 35, so the total is 51.1 out of 100. A rival with 112 in the UTME and the same grades would get 14.0 + 35 = 49.0. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published one. Under most methods a polytechnic might use, a weak O’level grade can cancel out a few extra UTME marks.
Your chances of getting Civil Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Civil Engineering Technology is rarely the most crowded course in a polytechnic’s engineering school. A score in the mid 120s with the right five credits is a sound position.
- Technical Drawing at O’level is not compulsory here, but it helps you in the first year, when engineering drawing takes a lot of time.
- If CAPS moves you to Building Technology, the two courses share a lot of early content, and both lead to construction careers.
- JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the end of polytechnic admissions for 2026/2027, so late offers do happen. Check CAPS regularly.
Civil Engineering Technology was not on the list of six NBTE-accredited courses that The Mirror reported in February 2025. It appears in the 2026/2027 advert, which suggests it was approved later, but I could not find the approval notice. Ask the department about its NBTE status before you pay acceptance fees.
How to apply for Civil Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN, then use the code to register for the UTME.
- Register the right subjects: for Civil Engineering Technology, that is English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Check the course on JAMB’s e-brochure during registration before you pay.
- Choose Fed Poly Isuochi: if the polytechnic was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before admissions start. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB accredited centre. The advert makes this a condition, and JAMB cannot approve an offer while your O’level is missing.
- Buy the form: apply online at fedpis.edu.ng and pay the ₦2,000 non-refundable fee. Print every page and receipt the portal gives you.
- Watch for screening or document checks: the advert does not name a test date, so check the portal and call 07034376858 or 07034200093 if you are unsure.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its acceptance fee in any source I could reach. Pay only through the school’s portal or an invoice in your name, then complete clearance at the temporary site.
Warning
Admission into Fed Poly Isuochi comes through JAMB CAPS. If anyone offers you a “special list” or a “supplementary slot” for money, walk away. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through the polytechnic’s own portal.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. When results come out, see how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Civil Engineering Technology at Fed Poly Isuochi
ND Civil Engineering Technology trains technicians who help plan, set out, build and maintain roads, drains, bridges and buildings. Under the NBTE curriculum you split your time between classes, the drawing studio, the surveying field and the materials laboratory.
What you study
- Engineering drawing and an introduction to computer-aided drafting
- Land surveying and setting out
- Construction materials, concrete technology and soil mechanics
- Structural mechanics and basic structural design
- Hydraulics, water supply and drainage
- Engineering mathematics, workshop practice and SIWES
This is the usual NBTE pattern for the ND. Fed Poly Isuochi has not published its own course outline, so exact course titles may differ.
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time, including a short period of SIWES. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment before applying. The school has not published a course-specific timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
On accreditation, The Mirror (2 February 2025) reported six NBTE-accredited courses at the polytechnic: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Science Laboratory Technology, Statistics, Accountancy and Business Administration and Management. Civil Engineering Technology was not on that list. It appears in the 2026/2027 advert, so it may have been approved since, but I could not find an NBTE notice. Ask the department for its current status before you pay fees.
About Fed Poly Isuochi
Federal Polytechnic, Ngodo-Isuochi is in Umunneochi LGA, Abia State. News reports describe it as a new institution established in 2022. Mistakes that cost Civil applicants a place at Fed Poly Isuochi
- Swapping Chemistry for Technical Drawing in the UTME: that waiver is for other schools. JAMB’s main rule for Isuochi is Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
- No Chemistry credit at O’level: the brochure makes it core for this course.
- Relying on an English pass: some schools accept a pass, but Fed Poly Isuochi’s advert asks for a credit.
- Leaving O’level off CAPS: the advert makes the upload a condition of eligibility.
- Assuming accreditation: confirm the course’s NBTE status with the department, since it was not on the February 2025 list.
