Lux Mundi University Business Administration Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Lux Mundi University has no published departmental cut-off for Business Administration, so 2027/2028 candidates should plan with JAMB’s 150 minimum and aim higher. See the UTME subjects, O’level, Direct Entry and application steps.

The Lux Mundi University Business Administration cut-off mark 2027/2028 candidates should plan with is 150, JAMB’s national minimum for universities. Lux Mundi, the private university in Umuahia, has not published a departmental cut-off for Business Administration or a general cut-off of its own, so 150 is the only official floor. I would still aim for 170 or more.

2027/2028 update: Lux Mundi University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Lux Mundi is a new university and publishes very little online. This page sets out what is official, what comes only from listing sites, a safe target score (my advice), the JAMB subject combination, Direct Entry, a worked screening example, the CAPS steps and what is known about fees.

The floor moved from 140 in 2024 to 150 in 2025 and stayed there in 2026. Varsity.ng’s 160 figure has no named source and contradicts its own course table, so I would not plan around it. For 2027/2028, treat 150 as the minimum unless JAMB or Lux Mundi announces a change.

Safe target score for Business Administration at Lux Mundi (my advice)

Lux Mundi has never published a departmental cut-off, so there is no official number above 150 to aim at. The table is my reading as an admissions adviser for a young private university with a small intake.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Business Administration at Lux Mundi
Below 150Not eligible. JAMB will not approve a university admission below 150.
150 to 169Eligible. A realistic chance if your O’level is complete and screening goes well.
170 to 199Comfortable for a young private university with a small intake.
200 and aboveStrong. It also keeps other universities open to you.

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 170 or more, with good credits in English, Mathematics and Economics. Business Administration is one of the most requested courses at private universities, and a score with room above 150 protects you if Lux Mundi ranks applicants after screening.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Business Administration at Lux Mundi

Lux Mundi has not published its own subject rules, so JAMB’s brochure is the reference. Myschool’s reprint of the university brochure gives the general requirement below, with no remark naming Lux Mundi that I could find.

RequirementJAMB brochure (Myschool reprint)What I would register
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics, Economics and any other social science subjectEnglish, Mathematics, Economics and Government (or Geography)
O’levelFive credits including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjectsAdd Commerce, Financial Accounting, Government or Geography
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes including EconomicsEconomics plus Accounting, Government or Business Management
SittingsNot stated in the main entryUse one sitting if you can; most universities accept two

The fourth UTME subject must be a social science. Government and Geography are the safe picks. I would not use Literature in English or CRS for this course, because the brochure line does not cover arts subjects.

Your two extra O’level credits can come from commercial or social science subjects. A credit in Mathematics is not optional: almost every business degree in Nigeria requires it, and the brochure names it.

Direct Entry into Business Administration

JAMB’s brochure asks Direct Entry candidates for two A-level passes including Economics. Lux Mundi has not published whether it also accepts OND, HND, NCE, JUPEB or IJMB results, which many private universities do. If you hold one of those, ask the admissions office before you register Direct Entry with JAMB.

Direct Entry candidates normally join at 200 level and still need the five O’level credits, so make sure the O’level is uploaded to CAPS as well.

Does Lux Mundi University run Business Administration?

As far as public records go, yes, but the confirmation is weaker than I would like. nextschool.ng’s Lux Mundi profile (modified 5 April 2025) and Varsity.ng’s 2026 course table both list Business Administration, and Varsity.ng places it in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences. That also fits ThisDay’s report that Lux Mundi took off with a Faculty of Management Sciences. universitycourses.ng (updated 24 February 2026) has it in a 12-course Lux Mundi list as well. NUC’s institution directory (NUCIS) lists Lux Mundi as a private, degree-awarding university with 16 courses, without naming them.

What I could not confirm is an official Lux Mundi course list. The university website loads no readable text, and I could not reach the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s course list for Lux Mundi. That matters because JAMB will only process your admission for a course that is on Lux Mundi’s approved list in the JAMB brochure.

When you register, search for Lux Mundi University on the JAMB registration screen and look for Business Administration under it. JAMB’s brochure also has close titles such as Business Management, so pick the exact title shown under Lux Mundi. If you cannot find it, stop and call the university before you pay for the UTME form.

How Lux Mundi screens Business Administration applicants

Lux Mundi has not published a screening format, date, form price or aggregate formula in any source I could reach. Varsity.ng says post-UTME performance also counts, without naming a source. The safest plan is to expect some form of screening, whether an aptitude test, an interview or a check of documents, and to be ready for any of them.

Worked example (illustrative)

Lux Mundi has no published formula, so the split below is mine. Many Nigerian universities give the UTME and their own test equal weight, and I use that 50:50 split only to show how the numbers interact.

  1. Candidate: Chiamaka scored 196 in the UTME and has B3 in English, B2 in Mathematics, B3 in Economics, C4 in Commerce and C5 in Government from one WAEC sitting.
  2. Eligibility: 196 minus 150 = 46 marks above the minimum. Her O’level covers English, Mathematics, Economics and two relevant subjects.
  3. UTME half (illustration): 196 divided by 400, times 50 = 24.5.
  4. Screening half (illustration): if she scores 65% at screening, that is 32.5.
  5. Illustrative total: 24.5 + 32.5 = 57 out of 100.

Tunde, with 154, would score 19.25 on the UTME half. He is eligible and may still get in at a new private university, but he needs a strong screening result to keep up. The 42 extra UTME marks are worth about 5 points in this illustration.

Your chances of admission into Business Administration at Lux Mundi

Lux Mundi took off in January 2024 at its temporary site in New Ndagbo City, Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, with faculties of Management Sciences, Law and Arts/Social Sciences, according to ThisDay. NUC has paired it with Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, as its mentor university. A university this new does not draw the crowds that ABSU or MOUAU see, so a candidate with 150 or more, the right subjects and a complete O’level has a realistic chance.

For Business Administration the bigger risk is paperwork. A missing Economics or Mathematics credit, an O’level not on CAPS or a UTME taken with Literature as the fourth subject can stop an otherwise good application. Fix those before you worry about the score.

Timing matters too. JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities. If you want Lux Mundi in a later cycle, have your O’level uploaded and your CAPS profile in order well before the deadline JAMB sets for that year.

How to apply for Business Administration at Lux Mundi, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME with Lux Mundi as your choice: pick Lux Mundi University and Business Administration on the JAMB registration screen, using English, Mathematics, Economics and Government or Geography. First choice is the cleanest route; if you chose another school, you will need a JAMB change of institution before Lux Mundi can admit you.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre as soon as your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. JAMB cannot approve an admission without it.
  4. Contact Lux Mundi for its application form: Varsity.ng links to an admission portal at portal.luxmundiuniversity.edu.ng. I could not open the official site to confirm it, so check the address with the university at its Umuahia campus before you pay for anything.
  5. Attend the screening: bring your JAMB result slip, O’level result, birth certificate and passport photographs, the usual set for Nigerian screening, and ask the admissions office what else it wants.
  6. Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gave 2026 candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
  7. Pay acceptance and register: pay only through the university’s official channel, collect a receipt, complete clearance and print your JAMB admission letter.

Warning

JAMB said in May 2026 that any admission done outside CAPS is illegal. A genuine Lux Mundi offer shows on your JAMB CAPS page. In October 2026 free-advert sites carried posts selling Lux Mundi “post-UTME forms” through private phone numbers, and I found no Lux Mundi notice behind them. Never pay into a personal account for a form or a place.

Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each admission status and how to accept.

Lux Mundi Business Administration school fees

Lux Mundi has not published a fee schedule I could open. The only figures from the university side come from its founder, Prof. Gabriel Okenwa, at the take-off ceremony in January 2024, as reported by WAWA News Global.

ItemAmountSource and date
Average fee per session₦400,000Founder’s statement at take-off (reported January 2024)
Law per session₦600,000Founder’s statement at take-off (reported January 2024)
Business Administration fee for 2026/2027 or 2027/2028Not publishedAsk the bursary

Those figures are almost three years old and private university fees usually rise, so ask the bursary for the current Business Administration fee, what it covers, and whether hostel and feeding are extra. Ignore blog tables that put Lux Mundi fees beside Medicine, Pharmacy or Engineering: Lux Mundi has not been reported to run those courses.

Studying Business Administration at Lux Mundi University

Business Administration sits with the management courses at Lux Mundi. Varsity.ng lists it under Management and Social Sciences, next to Accountancy and Forensic Studies, Banking and Finance, Entrepreneurship and Project Management. Lux Mundi has not published its own course outline, so the list below describes a typical Nigerian B.Sc. in the subject.

What you study

  • 100 and 200 level: principles of management, introductory economics, business mathematics, statistics, financial accounting and communication skills.
  • Middle years: organisational behaviour, human resource management, marketing, business law, production and operations management and corporate finance.
  • Final year: strategic management, entrepreneurship, research methods and a project.
  • University-wide courses: general studies courses that every Nigerian undergraduate takes, plus a period of industrial attachment in many programmes.

Duration and accreditation

A UTME entrant normally spends four years on a B.Sc. in Business Administration, and Varsity.ng gives four years for Lux Mundi. Direct Entry students usually spend three.

I found no NUC accreditation result for Business Administration at Lux Mundi. NUC’s 1990 to 2025 accreditation results publication could not be read as far as the universities starting with L, and a search of NUC’s programme reports returned nothing for Lux Mundi. That is expected for a university that took off in 2024: NUC usually visits a new programme for accreditation as the pioneer set approaches its final year. Until a result appears, treat accreditation as not confirmed and ask the university which NUC approval covers the programme.

Careers after the degree

  • Management trainee posts in banks, manufacturing, telecoms and consumer goods companies
  • Human resources, administration and operations roles in private and public organisations
  • Running a family business or starting your own
  • An MBA or M.Sc. later, and membership routes with management professional bodies

Still choosing a course? Read our guides to JAMB change of course and JAMB change of institution.

Mistakes that cost Business Administration applicants a Lux Mundi place

  • Using Literature or CRS as the fourth UTME subject: the brochure asks for a social science.
  • Missing a credit in Mathematics or Economics: both are named in the brochure.
  • Registering a similar course title: Business Management or Business Education is not the same course on CAPS.
  • Leaving O’level off CAPS: JAMB cannot approve the admission without it.
  • Paying an agent for a ‘slot’: admission outside CAPS is illegal.
  • Missing the CAPS acceptance window: JAMB gave 2026 candidates four weeks.

Lux Mundi University Business Administration cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Is 160 enough for Business Administration at Lux Mundi University? Yes, 160 is above the 150 minimum, and Lux Mundi has not published anything higher. Your O’level and screening result then decide the outcome.

Can I study Business Administration at Lux Mundi without Mathematics? No. JAMB’s brochure lists Mathematics in the UTME and requires an O’level credit in it.

Is Business Administration at Lux Mundi accredited by NUC? Not confirmed. I found no NUC accreditation result for any Lux Mundi programme, which is usual for a university that took off in 2024; ask the university which NUC approval covers the course.

How much is the school fee for Business Administration at Lux Mundi? Lux Mundi has not published a current fee. At take-off in January 2024 the founder gave an average of ₦400,000 per session, so ask the bursary for the 2027/2028 figure.

Sources and updates

The national minimum of 150, the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities, the four-week CAPS acceptance window and the warning on admissions outside CAPS come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s policy meeting (11 May 2026). News Central’s full list of institution cut-offs from the same meeting was checked and does not include Lux Mundi. The 2025/2026 minimum of 150 is from Channels TV (8 July 2025). The 140 figure and the 16-course count are from Lux Mundi’s NUCIS listing (last modified 24 July 2024). The subject and Direct Entry requirements are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB university brochure entry for Business Administration (Social and Management Sciences). The take-off date, campus, faculties and provisional licence come from ThisDay (18 January 2024); the operating licence and the Godfrey Okoye University mentorship come from The Guardian (5 October 2024) and Godfrey Okoye University’s own news page. The 2024 fee figures are the founder’s words as reported by WAWA News Global. The course listings come from nextschool.ng’s Lux Mundi profile (modified 5 April 2025), Varsity.ng’s 2026 course table and universitycourses.ng (updated 24 February 2026); none is an official Lux Mundi source. The form-selling adverts were on free-advert sites in October 2026. The Lux Mundi website did not load readable content when I checked on 29 October 2026. I will update this page when Lux Mundi publishes its 2027/2028 admission notice or a course list I can verify.
