FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics Engineering Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

FUAHSE set 200 as the cut-off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering. See the official list, a safe target, UTME subjects, O’level rules, screening, CAPS steps and the open NUC and COREN questions.

The FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut-off mark is 200 in the UTME. On its official 2026/2027 UTME admission cut-off list, the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) shows the course simply as “Electrical and Electronics” in the 200 group, alongside its other engineering and computing courses.

2027/2028 update: FUAHSE cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

This is one of FUAHSE’s newest courses, and the paperwork behind it is thin. What I could confirm on 30 October 2026:

  • On FUAHSE’s cut-off list: yes, at 200.
  • NUC approval: not confirmed for this course. It was not among the first 16 approvals of December 2024, and it was not named when the Vice-Chancellor announced 11 newer approvals in May 2026.
  • On JAMB’s list of FUAHSE courses: not confirmed. JAMB’s brochure entry for Electrical / Electronics Engineering has no FUAHSE remark.
  • COREN accreditation: no record found.

Enugu has two established alternatives: UNN Electrical and Electronic Engineering (160 to apply in 2026/2027) and ESUT Electrical and Electronics Engineering (180). I set them side by side further down.

Check before you pay

FUAHSE has not published NUC approval for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and I could not confirm it on JAMB’s list of FUAHSE courses. Get written confirmation from the admissions office, and pay acceptance only through the e-portal after the offer appears on JAMB CAPS.

With only one session on record, there is no trend. In 2026/2027 FUAHSE asked 20 marks more than ESUT and 40 more than UNN’s screening line for the same kind of degree, which is unusual for a department with no graduates yet. Plan for 200 or a little above in 2027/2028.

Every engineering and computing course at FUAHSE is on 200, so there is no cheaper engineering route inside the university. If you miss 200, the courses below it are health and basic science courses that need Biology rather than Mathematics.

Safe target score for Electrical and Electronics at FUAHSE (my advice)

FUAHSE does not publish its last admitted score. These bands are my advice.

Your UTME scoreMy read for FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics
Below 200Not eligible at FUAHSE; ESUT (180) and UNN (160) are within reach
200 to 209Eligible, near the line
210 to 229Competitive with strong Mathematics and Physics
230 and aboveStrong

For the 2027 UTME, I would aim for at least 215, ideally 225. That keeps you clear of the line at FUAHSE and comfortably above ESUT and UNN, which matters if you need to switch.

Catchment, quota and the new engineering limits

FUAHSE has not published a catchment list or a quota for this course. Nationally, COREN said in July 2026 that NUC and JAMB had approved admission quotas for engineering programmes based on each school’s capacity to train (ThisDay, 8 July 2026). A department in its first years will usually have a small number of seats, which is another reason to aim above 200.

UTME subject combination and O’level for FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics

RequirementElectrical / Electronics Engineering (JAMB general entry)
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
O’levelFive credits: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and one other science subject
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (FUAHSE has not published a different list)
SittingsNot stated by FUAHSE
Direct Entry (FUAHSE notice)ND, HND or first degree plus relevant O’level credits
Direct Entry (JAMB brochure, general)Two A’level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry

This is the general entry for Electrical / Electronics Engineering in JAMB’s brochure, reprinted by Myschool and checked on 30 October 2026. Its special remarks cover ESUT, COOU, FUTO, UNILAG and many others, but not FUAHSE. ESUT and COOU have their own O’level remark that, as reprinted, mentions only an English credit; it applies to them, not to FUAHSE. Plan for the full five credits.

Course name to pick on JAMB: JAMB’s brochure lists this course as Electrical / Electronics Engineering, and FUAHSE’s cut-off page calls it Electrical and Electronics. I could not open JAMB’s own list of FUAHSE courses (the Myschool reprint would not load for me), so I can’t confirm that the course appears under FUAHSE on JAMB’s portal or exactly how it is spelt there. FUAHSE’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME form took JAMB registration numbers, which suggests admission runs through JAMB, but for a course this new I would confirm it. At registration, ask the centre to show FUAHSE’s course options on screen. If the course is not there, do not pick a look-alike; choose another course or school and plan a change of course once FUAHSE confirms the course is on JAMB’s list.

If you hold an ND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Direct Entry may suit you. FUAHSE’s notice only mentioned ND, HND and first-degree holders in general terms, so ask which level you would enter before buying the form.

Worked example for an Electrical and Electronics candidate

FUAHSE has not published an aggregate formula. The check that means something is the margin over 200 and over my target.

Take Kelechi, who scored 209 with B2 in Mathematics, B3 in Physics, C4 in Chemistry, C5 in English and B3 in Biology across two sittings.

  1. Eligibility: 209 minus 200 = 9. He clears the FUAHSE cut-off by 9 marks.
  2. Against my safe target: 215 minus 209 = 6. He is 6 marks short of the range I call competitive.
  3. O’level check: five relevant credits in two sittings. FUAHSE has not said whether it accepts two sittings, so he should ask.
  4. My advice: apply, but keep ESUT (180) in view, where 209 is a comfortable score.

Amaka scored 185. 185 minus 200 = minus 15, so FUAHSE is out. She clears ESUT’s 180 by 5 and UNN’s 160 by 25.

How to apply for Electrical and Electronics at FUAHSE, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the UTME: choose FUAHSE and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. If FUAHSE was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before its screening form opens.
  3. Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre, early. Universities read your grades from CAPS.
  4. Fill the FUAHSE screening form: go to eportal.fuahse.edu.ng and open the Post-UTME application form for the session. UTME candidates enter their JAMB registration number; Direct Entry candidates start with a phone number. Blogs reported a fee of ₦2,000 for 2026/2027; the invoice the portal generates is what counts.
  5. Print your slip and keep checking: FUAHSE has not published whether it holds a test, so watch the portal and the official admissions page after you submit.
  6. Check your status: use FUAHSE’s admission status page and JAMB CAPS. An offer is only real once it appears on CAPS.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. JAMB gives candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear: FUAHSE has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the FUAHSE e-portal, and keep every receipt for clearance.

FUAHSE’s admissions page also warns that fake admission information about the university circulates on Facebook. Use only fuahse.edu.ng/admissions and the e-portal, and treat an offer as real only when it shows on JAMB CAPS. In July 2025 the management said that giving or collecting money for admission is forbidden, as Myschool reported.

FUAHSE is a federal university, so its 2026/2027 admissions fall under the deadline JAMB set for public universities: 31 October 2026 (News Agency of Nigeria, 11 May 2026). That date has now passed. I found no report of when FUAHSE uploaded its 2026/2027 list, so if you applied this year, check CAPS and FUAHSE’s status page now, and read our JAMB CAPS guide to understand each status.

Studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at FUAHSE

The course sits in the Faculty of Health Engineering and Technology at FUAHSE’s Trans-Ekulu campus, with Biomedical, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. A B.Eng. in Nigeria normally takes five years; FUAHSE has not published its duration or outline.

Is FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics approved?

  • March 2024: the Federal Government approved the upgrade of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Trans-Ekulu, into FUAHSE.
  • October 2024: an NUC team began checking 18 of the 22 programmes FUAHSE’s Senate had approved for take-off in 2024/2025, using NUC’s Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards as the yardstick (The Sun, 31 October 2024).
  • December 2024: FUAHSE announced NUC approval for its first 16 degree programmes. Electrical and Electronics was not on that list, and it was not in the 2025/2026 intake either.
  • May 2026: the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Emaimo, said NUC approval now covered 27 programmes: the original 16 plus 11 newer ones. The report named only Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering among the 11. Electrical and Electronics was not named (The Sun, 9 May 2026).
  • 2026/2027: FUAHSE’s official cut-off list carries 28 courses, the original 16 plus 12 newer ones. That is one more than the 27 approvals the Vice-Chancellor described.

So the course is on the official list but no public source names it as approved. It may be among the eight unnamed newer approvals, or it may be the one listed course the count of 27 does not reach. Ask the admissions office for written confirmation before you accept.

COREN and the engineering question

COREN, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, registers engineers and accredits university engineering programmes. Its public page of accreditation visits to Nigerian universities names other universities (UNN and ESUT among them) and says nothing about FUAHSE, and I found no COREN report, notice or news item that names FUAHSE. For a department this young that is expected, because accreditation visits normally come once students reach the later years. Still, a B.Eng. that COREN has not accredited by the time you graduate can slow your registration as an engineer, so ask the department when it expects COREN’s visit before you accept.

What you study

  • Early years: engineering mathematics, physics, circuit theory, workshop practice, technical drawing and programming.
  • Core subjects: electrical machines, power systems, analogue and digital electronics, signals and communication, and control systems.
  • Practical training: laboratories, design projects and SIWES industrial attachment.
  • Careers: power and utilities, telecoms, electronics, automation, and in a health setting, medical electronics and hospital power systems.

In a health university, the electronics side may tie in with Biomedical Engineering and Radiography, where imaging and patient-monitoring equipment depend on electronics. That is my expectation from the faculty mix; FUAHSE has not published the curriculum.

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Chemistry syllabus, then read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and what to do with your JAMB score if you are planning a fresh attempt in 2027.

FUAHSE, ESUT or UNN for Electrical and Electronics?

Option2026/2027 figureWhat to weigh
FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics200 (course cut-off)New course; NUC approval for it not confirmed; no COREN record
ESUT Electrical and Electronics Engineering180 (course band)State university; named in ESUT’s 180 band
UNN Electrical and Electronic Engineering160 to applyLong-running faculty; departmental merit line not published

If you want a degree with a settled track record, ESUT or UNN gives you that at a lower score. FUAHSE becomes a fair choice once it confirms approval in writing and you clear 200 with room to spare. See how to change institution on JAMB if you need to move your application.

Mistakes that cost Electrical and Electronics applicants

  • Stopping at 150: FUAHSE’s course cut-off is 200.
  • Borrowing another school’s waiver: ESUT’s English-only O’level remark does not apply at FUAHSE.
  • Leaving out Chemistry: the general entry asks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • Paying agents: FUAHSE has warned against racketeering and fake Facebook posts.
  • Accepting without asking about approval: get NUC and COREN plans in writing first.

FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Is 200 the final cut-off for Electrical Engineering at FUAHSE? It is the official 2026/2027 figure, and FUAHSE has not announced a 2027/2028 change. Treat 200 as the minimum and aim higher.

Is FUAHSE Electrical and Electronics Engineering accredited? I found no NUC accreditation or COREN record for it, and no report naming it among NUC’s approvals. Ask FUAHSE for written confirmation.

Which is easier to get into for Electrical Engineering, FUAHSE or ESUT? ESUT asked 180 in 2026/2027 and FUAHSE asked 200, so ESUT needed 20 fewer marks.

Can I use Further Mathematics in the UTME for FUAHSE Electrical Engineering? No. The JAMB entry lists Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with Use of English. Further Mathematics only helps as an O’level credit.
