FCE Eha-Amufu Physical and Health Education (NCE) Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

FCE Eha-Amufu needs no UTME score for NCE Physical and Health Education if you have four O’level credits, but JAMB registration and CAPS still apply. See the O’level subjects, JAMB NCE costs, selection and CAPS steps.

For 2027/2028, FCE Eha-Amufu has no UTME cut-off mark for Physical and Health Education (NCE) if you hold at least four O’level credits. The national admission policy agreed on 11 May 2026 exempts NCE candidates with four credits from the UTME, but they still register with JAMB and are admitted only through CAPS. The college has not published a separate figure for this course, so your O’level grades and the college’s selection exercise decide your place.

2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the rules on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official position (the 2026/2027 national admission policy and JAMB’s June 2026 NCE registration guide) and the college’s most recent advert we could trace. If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.

Physical and Health Education (PHE) is a double major at Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu. You train to teach physical education and health in schools, and you spend real time on the field as well as in class. This page sets out the cut-off history, the O’level subjects that matter for PHE, JAMB’s NCE costs, how selection works with an example, the CAPS steps and the routes the certificate opens. I could not find an official 2026/2027 course list for the college, so confirm the course is taking students before paying.

The college used the national minimum of 100 for NCE when the UTME applied. Since 2026, credit holders sit no UTME for NCE and no number was set for colleges of education. If a site quotes 100 for 2027/2028, it is quoting the old rule.

There is one wrinkle in the reporting. Nairametrics (11 May 2026) wrote that the NCE exemption would take effect from the 2027 admission cycle, while JAMB’s own June 2026 NCE registration guide and Legit’s report of 23 July 2026 show it was already applied in 2026. Either way, the result for a 2027/2028 candidate is the same: if you have four or more credits, you do not sit the UTME for NCE.

O’level requirements for Physical and Health Education at FCE Eha-Amufu

These come from the college’s 2021/2022 advert as reprinted by Myschool. They were not re-issued for 2026/2027 in any source I reached.

RequirementWhat applies
CreditsFour credit passes in not more than two sittings
CompulsoryEnglish Language and Mathematics
Relevant subjectsTwo credits relevant to PHE; Biology is the one I would not skip
Exams acceptedWAEC SSCE, NECO SSCE, NABTEB, GCE O’level
Teacher routeGrade II Teacher’s Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit in four subjects
UTMENot needed with four credits; JAMB registration still needed

Which subjects count as relevant for PHE?

The college does not list them. JAMB’s degree-level brochure entry, as reprinted by Myschool, asks for Biology plus two relevant subjects in the UTME, and five O’level credits including English and Biology or an equivalent. UNN’s remark on the same page accepts Biology, Health Science, Physical Education or Agricultural Science as the subject that sits alongside English. For NCE at Eha-Amufu, that makes Biology your safest second relevant credit, with Physical Education, Health Science, Chemistry or Agricultural Science as the next choices.

Your O’level profileMy read for NCE PHE at Eha-Amufu
No credit in English or MathematicsNot eligible. Resit before applying
Four credits including English and Maths, no BiologyMeets the count; relevant-subject rule in doubt
English, Maths, Biology and one science or Physical EducationGood fit
English, Maths, Biology and Physical Education or Health Science, plus a sports recordThe profile I would aim for

This table is my advice, not a published college rule.

If you also sit the UTME as a backup

For a degree in the subject, the brochure gives Biology and any two relevant subjects, with Use of English compulsory. Confirm on the JAMB e-brochure, and use our JAMB Biology syllabus guide to prepare. JAMB suspends any UTME process once you are recommended for NCE.

How selection works for PHE at Eha-Amufu

Blog reprints of the college’s adverts describe a portal profile, a Remita invoice, a passport upload, your JAMB, O’level and birth certificate details and a printed acknowledgement slip. Every candidate must pass the college’s selection process. Some PHE departments in Nigeria run a basic fitness check or ask for a medical report, but nothing published for Eha-Amufu says it does.

DetailWhat we know
Screening fee₦2,000 in the 2021/2022 advert; current fee not published
Selection testRequired by the advert; format not published
Fitness test or medical reportNot mentioned in any source found
O’level on CAPSRequired before the college can propose you
Ranking formulaNot published

Worked example (illustrative)

These candidates are invented to show how the advert’s rules apply.

Kelechi has WAEC in one sitting: English Language C5, Mathematics C4, Biology B3, Physical Education B2, Chemistry C6, Civic Education C5. He plays football for his school.

  1. Credits: six. Pass.
  2. English and Mathematics: both credits. Pass.
  3. Two relevant subjects: Biology and Physical Education. Pass.
  4. Sittings: one. Pass.
  5. My verdict: strong. He should register for NCE early and keep his school sports record in case the department asks about it.

Amaka has two sittings. First: English C6, Mathematics F9, Biology C5. Second: Mathematics C6, Agricultural Science C4, Economics C5. Across two sittings she has credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science and Economics, which meets the advert. Two sittings are allowed, so she can apply, but she must buy the two-sitting verification code (₦2,000) and upload both results to CAPS.

Your chances and my advice

  • PHE is a mid-sized course: competition is usually lighter than in the science pairings, but Biology still separates candidates.
  • Health counts too: half the course is health education, so a science base helps you in class.
  • Fix Mathematics first: it is compulsory in the advert.
  • Register early: the 2026/2027 admission window for colleges of education runs until 31 December 2026.
  • Fitness: practical sports courses run through all three years, so be ready for them.

How to apply for Physical and Health Education (NCE) at FCE Eha-Amufu

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with a profile code you take to a registration centre.
  2. Register with JAMB for NCE: the NCE route needs JAMB registration even without a UTME score. Buy your O’level verification code first, then register at a CBT centre and pick Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu with Physical and Health Education as your course. If JAMB already has you down for another school, use a JAMB change of institution before the college starts proposing candidates.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded to your JAMB profile at an accredited centre. JAMB’s guide says awaiting-result candidates cannot be proposed until the result is in, so do this as soon as your result is out.
  4. Apply on the college portal: create a profile, generate the screening invoice, pay, upload a passport photograph and fill in your O’level, birth certificate and JAMB details, then print the acknowledgement slip. The college’s 2021 advert charged ₦2,000 through a portal invoice paid at a bank; the 2026/2027 fee and dates were not published in any source I reached.
  5. Attend the selection exercise if one is fixed: the college’s adverts say candidates must pass its selection process. Take your printed slip and original results.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. For 2026/2027, JAMB gave four weeks to accept an offer before it could be withdrawn. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear: print your admission letter and pay acceptance and school charges through the college portal. A blog puts the acceptance fee at ₦5,000 through Remita, but the figure looks old and the college has not published one I could check, so confirm it on the portal.

Warning

JAMB says admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, and that includes NCE. Nobody can sell you an FCE Eha-Amufu NCE “slot”. Pay only through an invoice generated on the college portal or the JAMB system, and confirm that your course is still running before you pay any fee.

Studying Physical and Health Education (NCE) at Eha-Amufu

Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu is in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State. It began in 1981 and became a federal college in 1993. The regular NCE is three years long, and a sandwich option over five long vacations has been advertised for serving teachers.

What you study

  • Human body: anatomy, physiology and the science of exercise.
  • Health education: personal and community health, nutrition, first aid and safety, and disease prevention.
  • Sports and games: athletics, ball games, gymnastics and swimming where facilities allow, plus rules and officiating.
  • Teaching PHE: methods for teaching physical and health education in primary and junior secondary schools.
  • Education and general studies: psychology, curriculum, assessment and general courses, then teaching practice.

That is the usual NCCE pattern for PHE. The college’s own course outline is not online.

Accreditation

The college is listed as open on the NCCE accredited colleges list. In 2016 NCCE accredited 17 of its 20 programmes and gave the other three interim accreditation, according to Myschool, but the report did not name them. Accreditation of Physical and Health Education for 2027/2028 is not confirmed, so ask the college.

Is it still a college of education?

Yes. The NCCE list of accredited colleges (checked 29 October 2026) still shows Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as a federal college of education with the status “open”. A House of Representatives bill to upgrade it to a Federal University of Education passed second reading, but I found no record of a third reading, Senate passage or presidential assent. Until that happens, the college admits NCE students under NCCE rules. If you see an advert using the name “Federal University of Education, Eha-Amufu”, check it against the college’s own channels before paying anything.

Careers and next steps

  • Teaching: PHE in primary and junior secondary schools, and sports master or mistress roles. NCE is the minimum teaching qualification in Nigeria, and teachers register with TRCN.
  • Degree: JAMB’s brochure lists an NCE merit in Physical Education as a Direct Entry qualification, and UNN’s remark accepts an NCE merit in Physical and Health Education. Compare our UNN Human Kinetics and Health Education guide and ESUT Human Kinetics and Health Education guide.
  • Sports and fitness: coaching, fitness instruction, recreation centres and community health outreach.

Mistakes that cost PHE applicants a place

  • No Mathematics credit: compulsory for every course in the advert.
  • No Biology: leaves the relevant-subject rule in doubt.
  • Buying the wrong verification code: two sittings need the two-sitting code.
  • Skipping JAMB registration: the UTME is waived for four-credit candidates, but JAMB registration and CAPS are not.
  • Letting the CAPS offer lapse: JAMB gave four weeks to accept in 2026/2027.

FCE Eha-Amufu Physical and Health Education: frequently asked questions

What is the cut-off mark for Physical and Health Education in FCE Eha-Amufu for 2027/2028? There is no UTME cut-off for NCE candidates with four or more O’level credits, because they are exempt from the UTME. The college used the national minimum of 100 before 2026.

Is Biology compulsory for PHE at FCE Eha-Amufu? The college has not named it, but it asks for two relevant credits, and JAMB’s brochure builds the course around Biology. I would treat a Biology credit as needed.

Can I combine two sittings for PHE NCE at FCE Eha-Amufu? Yes. The college’s advert allows up to two sittings, and JAMB’s 2026 verification code for two sittings cost ₦2,000.

Is there a fitness test for PHE at FCE Eha-Amufu? None has been published. Every candidate must pass the college’s selection process, so ask the department if a practical or medical check is part of it.
