FCE Eha-Amufu Chemistry Education (NCE) Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

There is no UTME cut-off for Chemistry Education (NCE) at FCE Eha-Amufu: four O’level credits and JAMB’s NCE registration are enough to apply. O’level subjects per pairing, fees, screening and careers.

FCE Eha-Amufu has no UTME cut-off mark for Chemistry Education (NCE) under the current rules. Since the Federal Government and JAMB’s policy meeting of 11 May 2026, NCE candidates with at least four O’level credit passes do not sit the UTME. You register with JAMB through its special NCE registration, Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu recommends you, and JAMB confirms the offer on CAPS. The last numeric minimum was 100, JAMB’s national figure for colleges of education in 2025/2026, and the college has never published a separate figure for Chemistry Education.

2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and the NCE entry process usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the details on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notices (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.

Chemistry at FCE Eha-Amufu is offered as one half of a two-subject NCE, and three pairings have been reported for the college: Chemistry/Integrated Science, Chemistry/Mathematics and Computer Education/Chemistry. Each one leans on a different second credit, so I have set out what I would want for each, then JAMB’s NCE registration and fees, the college’s selection, an example and where the NCE takes you.

Older years (blogs)100, or “110 and above”Figures blogs print for the whole collegeUnofficial; not tied to any college notice

None of these is specific to Chemistry. The college has not published a Chemistry figure for any year, and blogs that print one are recycling the college-wide number. In the current system your O’level grades in Chemistry and your second subject do the work a cut-off used to do.

O’level requirements for Chemistry Education (NCE)

The national minimum is four credit passes. FCE Eha-Amufu’s own advert, as reprinted by o3schools in January 2026 (I could not reach it on a college page), asks for four credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, with two of the credits relevant to your chosen course. Here is how I would read that for each combination in this group:

CombinationCredits I would make sure you have (my advice)
Chemistry/Integrated ScienceEnglish, Mathematics, Chemistry, plus Biology or Physics
Chemistry/MathematicsEnglish, Mathematics (a good grade), Chemistry, plus Physics or Further Mathematics
Computer Education/ChemistryEnglish, Mathematics, Chemistry, plus Computer Studies (Data Processing) or Physics

Mathematics carries more weight in this group than in most NCE courses, because Chemistry calculations and the Chemistry/Mathematics pairing both depend on it. A bare C6 in Mathematics meets the rule, but if you are choosing Chemistry/Mathematics I would want B3 or better.

Safe target in place of a cut-off

This is consultant advice, not a college rule. With no UTME score to beat, the strength of your O’level in the course subjects is what separates you from other applicants.

Your O’levelMy read for Chemistry Education at Eha-Amufu
Fewer than four credits, or English/Mathematics missingNot eligible this year; resit or ask the college about its Pre-NCE programme
Four credits incl. Chemistry, Mathematics at C5 or C6Eligible; better suited to Chemistry/Integrated Science
Five credits incl. Chemistry and Physics, one sittingSolid for any of the three
Chemistry and Mathematics at B3 or better, plus Physics, one sittingStrong; what I would aim for, especially for Chemistry/Mathematics

UTME subjects, if you write the UTME anyway

The UTME is not needed for NCE. If you also sit it to keep a university option, JAMB’s usual combination for Chemistry education courses at universities is Chemistry plus two of Biology, Mathematics and Physics; confirm on the JAMB e-brochure before you register, because I did not verify that entry. JAMB processes one mode of entry at a time, so choosing NCE suspends a UTME application.

Direct Entry

There is no Direct Entry into the NCE itself. JAMB’s June 2026 guideline also stopped admission at 100 or 200 level into any college of education except through the NCE, and ended admissions into affiliated degree programmes in colleges of education, which includes Eha-Amufu’s UNN-affiliated B.Ed. After the NCE, Direct Entry runs the other way: you can use the NCE to apply for a degree at a university.

How to apply for Chemistry Education at FCE Eha-Amufu

JAMB’s 2026/2027 flow for NCE and agricultural ND candidates sets these steps. FCE Eha-Amufu has its own JAMB registration centre (IPRC) on campus; any JAMB-accredited CBT centre also works.

  1. Get an O’level verification code: buy it from your exam body’s verification site. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two, and the two sittings can be from different exam bodies (WAEC and NECO, for example).
  2. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
  3. Create or open your e-Facility account: use the profile code at efacility.jamb.gov.ng if you do not already have a profile.
  4. Register for NCE at a CBT centre, PRC or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, present your verification code, choose your NCE course (Chemistry/Integrated Science, Chemistry/Mathematics or Computer Education/Chemistry) and pick three Colleges of Education. Put Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as your first choice, because your registration goes to your first-choice college.
  5. Upload your O’level results: the centre uploads them and captures your photograph and fingerprints. If your results are not out, mark Awaiting Results and upload them as soon as they are released. The college cannot recommend you until they are uploaded.
  6. Do the college’s own screening if it calls for one: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its 2026/2027 screening notice in any source I could reach. Watch the college’s announcements and pay any form fee only through the college portal.
  7. College recommends you on CAPS: the Admission Officer proposes you and the Provost recommends you to JAMB’s CAPS, which then checks your O’level against the exam body’s records.
  8. Accept the offer on CAPS and print your admission letter: log in to e-Facility, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept quickly; JAMB withdraws offers not accepted within four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  9. Pay acceptance and school charges, then clear: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its acceptance fee officially. One blog quotes ₦5,000 through Remita; treat that as unconfirmed and pay only after generating an invoice on the college’s own portal.

Warning

Every genuine FCE Eha-Amufu admission shows on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. Do not pay anyone who promises an NCE place. Pay JAMB fees on the JAMB portal at a registration centre, and college fees only through an invoice from the college’s own portal.

The college’s screening

JAMB’s flow leaves the choice of candidates to the college: its Admission Officer proposes and the Provost recommends you on CAPS. FCE Eha-Amufu has not published how it screens for 2026/2027. Blog reprints of earlier notices describe an online form: create a profile on the college portal, pay through a Remita invoice, upload a passport photograph, enter your JAMB and O’level details and date of birth, then print the acknowledgement. No fee or dates were given. One blog quotes a ₦5,000 acceptance fee, which is unconfirmed. Blogs name fceehaamufu.com and fceehaamufu.edu.ng as the college’s sites; I could not confirm either.

Worked example

This is an illustration of how the published rules apply. FCE Eha-Amufu has not published a scoring formula, so there is no aggregate to compute.

Obinna wants Chemistry/Mathematics. His WAEC 2026: English C6, Mathematics B3, Chemistry B2, Physics C4, Biology C5, Geography D7, Civic Education C6.

  1. Credits: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Civic Education. Six credits.
  2. English and Mathematics: both credits, and Mathematics is a B3.
  3. Course subjects: Chemistry (B2) and Mathematics (B3) match his pairing directly, with Physics as backup. This is a strong profile for Chemistry/Mathematics.
  4. JAMB-side cost: ₦1,500 + ₦3,500 + ₦700 = ₦5,700.

Adaeze has Chemistry C6 and Mathematics C6 with English C5 and Biology C4. She qualifies, but I would steer her to Chemistry/Integrated Science, where her Biology credit helps, rather than Chemistry/Mathematics.

Admission chances and advice

  • Match the pairing to your second credit: Biology or Physics for Integrated Science; strong Mathematics for Chemistry/Mathematics; Computer Studies for Computer Education.
  • Science teachers are in demand: I would expect fewer applicants per place in Chemistry than in the most popular arts combinations, but the college publishes no quota, so do not rely on that.
  • Register and upload early: the college cannot recommend Awaiting Results candidates until their results are on JAMB’s system.
  • Accept on CAPS within four weeks: or JAMB withdraws the offer.

Studying Chemistry Education at FCE Eha-Amufu

NCE Chemistry prepares you to teach Basic Science and Chemistry in basic education schools. You study Chemistry with your second subject, education courses and teaching practice. This outline follows the general NCE pattern; FCE Eha-Amufu’s course handbook was not available to me.

What you study

  • Chemistry content: atomic structure, physical, organic and inorganic chemistry, and laboratory practicals.
  • Second subject: Integrated Science, Mathematics or computer education.
  • Education courses: educational psychology, curriculum studies and methods of teaching Chemistry.
  • Teaching practice: supervised teaching in a school.

Accreditation

The NCCE list of accredited colleges shows Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu (Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State) as a federal college with status “open”. The list does not show each combination’s accreditation, so the status of Chemistry Education specifically is not confirmed. A bill to upgrade the college to a Federal University of Education has passed second reading in the House of Representatives (Voice of Nigeria); it remains a college of education for now.

Careers and next steps

  • Teaching: the NCE is the minimum teaching qualification in Nigerian basic education; Chemistry NCE holders usually teach Basic Science in junior secondary schools.
  • A degree: NCE holders can apply to universities through JAMB Direct Entry for B.Ed or B.Sc.(Ed) Chemistry; check the university’s brochure entry.
  • Other work: school laboratory assistant roles, tutoring and coaching for WAEC and JAMB Chemistry.

Our JAMB Chemistry syllabus is a good revision list, and the JAMB CAPS guide explains what each CAPS status means.

FCE Eha-Amufu Chemistry Education: frequently asked questions

Does FCE Eha-Amufu Chemistry Education need post UTME? No UTME is needed for NCE if you have four O’level credits. The college may still run its own screening form, but it has not published one for 2026/2027.

Is Physics compulsory for Chemistry NCE at Eha-Amufu? The college has not published a Physics requirement. I would want Physics for Chemistry/Mathematics, while Biology can stand in for Chemistry/Integrated Science.

What is the cut off mark for Chemistry/Mathematics in FCE Eha-Amufu? There is no UTME cut-off for it now because of the NCE exemption. The last national minimum for colleges of education was 100, in 2025/2026.

Can I change from UTME to NCE Chemistry at FCE Eha-Amufu? Yes. JAMB lets 2026 UTME candidates convert to NCE at a registration centre for ₦700 plus the O’level verification code, with no ₦3,500 application fee.

Sources and updates

The UTME exemption, the 31 December 2026 deadline for colleges of education and the four-week CAPS acceptance window come from reports of the 11 May 2026 policy meeting by the News Agency of Nigeria, VON, ICIR and TheNigeriaLawyer. Registration steps and fees, the NCE-only entry rule and the end of affiliated degree admissions come from JAMB’s NCE/ND special registration flow (June 2026), also reported by Daily Trust (21 June 2026); JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin’s statement of 23 July 2026 is from Legit.ng. The 2025/2026 minimum of 100 is JAMB’s figure reported by Nairametrics (8 July 2025). College status is from the NCCE accredited colleges list; the upgrade bill is from Voice of Nigeria. The O’level wording, combination list, screening steps and acceptance fee are from blog reprints (o3schools, schoolings.org) and are unofficial. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when FCE Eha-Amufu or JAMB publishes 2027/2028 details.
