The FCC Oji River Marketing cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. That is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics, set at the 2026 policy meeting for the 2026/2027 session, and it is the figure that applies to ND Marketing at the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River. The college has not published a separate departmental cut-off for Marketing, so anything higher you see online is a guess.
2027/2028 update: FCC Oji River cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
FCC Oji River is a small federal monotechnic in Enugu State that trains students for the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND). Marketing is one of its seven departments. Below you will find what the 100 means in practice, a safe target score (my advice, clearly labelled), the JAMB subject combination from the brochure, O’level rules, the HND route, what the college has and has not published about screening, and the CAPS steps that decide whether you get in.

FCC Oji River Marketing cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics and monotechnics | NAN and TheNigeriaLawyer, 11 May 2026 |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | JAMB statement reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025 |
| Any year | No figure | Departmental cut-off for Marketing at FCC Oji River | Never published in any source I found |
The floor has held at 100 for two sessions. For a 2027 UTME candidate, plan with 100 as the legal minimum and treat everything above it as the margin that protects you if the college gets more Marketing applicants than it has places.
Safe target score for Marketing at FCC Oji River (my advice)
This section is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a college rule, and FCC Oji River has not published how many Marketing places it has or how many people apply.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Marketing at FCC Oji River |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible. JAMB will not let the college admit you. |
| 100 to 129 | Eligible. Possible, especially with strong O’level grades, but you have little room. |
| 130 to 159 | Comfortable for a small specialist college like this one. |
| 160 and above | Strong. I would aim here so a sudden rise in applicants does not shut you out. |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 150. Specialist federal colleges in business subjects tend to draw fewer applicants than the big polytechnics, so 100 is usually workable, but a score in the 150s also keeps the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) and Federal Polytechnic Oko open to you as backups.
Catchment
FCC Oji River has not published a catchment list or a merit/catchment split for ND admission. As a federal institution it admits candidates from every state. Do not plan around a formula the college has never announced.
FCC Oji River Marketing subject combination and O’level requirements
The JAMB brochure entry for Marketing at polytechnic level (Faculty of Administration) sets the rules below. The brochure carries special remarks for several polytechnics, but none for FCC Oji River under Marketing, so the general rule applies. The college does appear in the brochure under the code FEDCOOP-OJI, with a special remark on its Cooperative Economics and Management course, which confirms it admits through JAMB.
| Requirement | ND Marketing |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, plus any two of Economics, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Geography |
| O’level core | Credit in English Language (Literature in English does not replace it) and Mathematics |
| Three other O’level credits | From Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, History, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| Sittings | Not stated by the college; schoolings.org (March 2021) says not more than two sittings |
| Minimum age | 16 (JAMB 2026 policy meeting) |
The combination I would register
Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce. Economics and Commerce are the two subjects that overlap most with ND Marketing courses, and both sit inside the brochure list. Government or Principles of Accounts also work if those were your strong SSCE subjects. Do not drop Mathematics: it is compulsory in the brochure entry, and a UTME result without it does not match the course.
For the O’level, a credit in Economics or Commerce is the safest third subject. You will meet both again in your first semester.
Direct Entry and the HND route
Marketing at FCC Oji River runs at two levels.
- ND Marketing: entry through the UTME, with the 100 minimum above. Two years under the usual NBTE structure.
- HND Marketing: no UTME. Under the general NBTE rule, you need an ND in Marketing or a related business course, normally at lower credit or better, and one year of industrial training (IT) after the ND. FCC Oji River has not published its own HND requirements, so confirm the grade it accepts before you apply.
The 2022/2023 admission announcement named both ND and HND for all seven departments. Myschool also reported in October 2021 that the college runs an Evening/Weekend ND and HND programme that it described as equal in all respects to the regular one, with forms then sold at ₦5,000. That fee is five years old and will have changed.
Is Marketing exempt from the UTME?
No. At the 2026 policy meeting, the Federal Government exempted NCE candidates and a narrow group of non-technology agriculture courses at ND level from sitting the UTME. Marketing is a business course, so you still need a UTME score of at least 100 and must be admitted through JAMB CAPS. FCC Oji River is a cooperative college, not a college of education, and it does not run NCE programmes.
How FCC Oji River screening works
The college publishes very little about screening. I found no official FCC Oji River website and no 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 admission advert. What the public record shows:
| What we know | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Admissions ran for 2022/2023 | ND and HND in seven departments, including Marketing | Primetime Reporters, January 2023, quoting admission officer Mr Obinna Ezeano |
| Fees then | Tuition including hostel “below N45,000 per session” | Same report; the officer’s statement, not a published fee schedule |
| ND 1 students admitted in 2025 | Oji River LGA offered indigenes admitted to the college help with registration, ND 1 school fees and hostel | Nigeria Startup Act listing of the council scheme, 18 June 2025 |
| Evening/Weekend programme | ND and HND, forms ₦5,000 in 2021 | Myschool, 12 October 2021 |
| 2026/2027 screening date, fee, test | Not published | No advert found |
So for 2027/2028, expect the college to sell its own admission form, check your UTME score and O’level, and then propose successful candidates on JAMB CAPS. Whether it sets a written test is not public. Ask at the admissions office in Oji River when forms come out.
Worked example for an ND Marketing candidate
FCC Oji River has not published an aggregate formula, so I will not invent one. What you can calculate is the gap between your score, the 100 floor and my safe target.
Take Ifeoma, who scored 142 in Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce, with C4 in English, B3 in Mathematics, and credits in Economics, Commerce and Government from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 142 minus 100 = 42. She clears the JAMB minimum by 42 marks.
- Against my safe target: 150 minus 142 = 8. She is 8 marks under the score I would call comfortable, which still puts her in my 130 to 159 band.
- Subjects: her four UTME subjects match the brochure, and her O’level has English, Mathematics and three relevant credits.
- What I would advise: buy the FCC Oji River form as soon as it is announced, upload her O’level to CAPS straight away, and keep IMT Marketing as a fallback only if FCC does not propose her by late in the admission cycle.
Now take Tobenna with 104 and a pass (D7) in Mathematics. He clears 100, but the missing Mathematics credit fails the O’level rule, so the college cannot admit him into Marketing whatever his UTME score. He needs to rewrite Mathematics in NECO or WAEC GCE first.
How to apply for Marketing at FCC Oji River
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: choose ND Marketing with Use of English, Mathematics and two brochure subjects. Check that Federal Cooperative College, Oji River appears in JAMB’s institution list for Marketing when you register; if you picked another school, do a JAMB change of institution before the college’s screening.
- Score at least 100: check your result with our guide on how to check your JAMB result.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at an accredited JAMB centre. The college cannot recommend you if your results are not on CAPS.
- Buy the college form: FCC Oji River sells its own ND and HND forms. Buy only through the channel the college names, and keep your receipt.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB withdraws an offer not accepted within four weeks.
- Pay acceptance and register: the college has not published a current acceptance fee. Confirm the amount at the bursary in Oji River before paying, and get an official receipt.
Warning
JAMB said at its May 2026 policy meeting that any admission done outside CAPS is illegal. If someone offers you an FCC Oji River Marketing “slot” for money, or a letter that does not show on your CAPS page, walk away. A genuine offer always appears on JAMB CAPS.
JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education. For 2027/2028, expect a similar end-of-year date once JAMB announces it. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you may see.
Studying Marketing at FCC Oji River
The Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, was established in 1976 and is federally owned, according to NBTE’s 2020 directory of accredited programmes, which lists it among specialised institutions offering accredited programmes. The college sits in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
What you study
The college has not put its Marketing course outline online, so this follows the usual NBTE ND and HND Marketing structure.
- ND years: principles of marketing, consumer behaviour, salesmanship, business communication, introduction to economics and accounting, business mathematics and statistics, and computer appreciation.
- Industrial training: a placement with a company between the ND and HND, normally in sales, distribution or advertising.
- HND years: marketing research, advertising and sales promotion, international marketing, product and brand management, marketing management and a final-year project.
- The cooperative angle: as a cooperative college, FCC Oji River’s mandate course is Cooperative Economics and Management, so expect a flavour of cooperative marketing and rural trade that you would not get at a general polytechnic.
Duration and accreditation
ND Marketing normally takes two years, and HND another two after the industrial training year. The college appears in NBTE’s 2020 directory as an institution offering accredited programmes, but the directory excerpt I could read did not show the status of Marketing itself. I have not confirmed the current NBTE accreditation of ND or HND Marketing at FCC Oji River. Ask the college to show you the department’s NBTE accreditation status before you pay acceptance; an unaccredited programme can delay your NYSC mobilisation.
Careers after the ND or HND
- Sales and business development officer in banks, telecoms, FMCG and insurance firms
- Marketing or brand assistant
- Digital marketing, social media and e-commerce roles
- Field and cooperative marketing officer in agro-processing and cooperative societies
- Starting your own trading or distribution business
The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) is the professional body for marketers in Nigeria, and many HND graduates take its membership examinations to move into management roles. A strong HND result can also take you into a direct entry or top-up degree at a university.

Mistakes Marketing applicants make
- Leaving out Mathematics in the UTME: the brochure makes it compulsory for Marketing.
- No credit in Mathematics or English at O’level: no UTME score can make up for it.
- Using Literature in English in place of English Language: the brochure rules this out.
- Forgetting the CAPS upload: the college cannot recommend you until your O’level is on CAPS.
- Paying an agent: admission outside CAPS is illegal, and genuine offers never need one.
- Assuming the 2022 fees still apply: the “below N45,000” figure is several years old.
