The cut-off mark for ND programmes at the Federal Cooperative College (FCC), Oji River is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics: 100 in the UTME, the figure set for 2026/2027 and also used in 2025/2026. The college has not published a higher cut-off for any of its seven departments. HND entry does not use a UTME score; you come in with an ND and industrial training.
2027/2028 update: FCC Oji River cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
FCC Oji River is a federal college in Oji River, Enugu State, that trains cooperative and business managers at ND and HND level. It is not a college of education and does not run NCE. This guide gives the cut-off position, the UTME subjects JAMB lists for the college, O’level rules, what is known about fees and the evening programme, a worked example and the steps to get admitted.
FCC Oji River cut-off mark for ND/HND at a glance
| Item | Position for 2027/2028 planning | Status |
|---|---|---|
| ND minimum UTME score | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics, 2026/2027 |
| Departmental cut-offs | None published | No college figure found |
| Safe target score (my advice) | 140 or more | Consultant advice, not an official figure |
| HND entry | ND plus industrial training; no UTME | Usual NBTE rule; college wording not published |
| Departments | Seven, each running ND and HND | Admission officer, 2022/2023 session |
| 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics and monotechnics | 31 December 2026 | Official, JAMB policy meeting |
FCC Oji River cut-off mark history
| Session | Minimum UTME score for ND | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2027/2028 | 100 (planning figure) | Carried over from 2026/2027 until JAMB announces a new one |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB policy meeting, 11 May 2026 (NAN) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB, reported by Nairametrics on 8 July 2025 |
These are national floors. A department can set a higher mark, but FCC Oji River has not published one, and I found no admission notice from the college for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027.
Does the 2026 ND exemption from UTME apply here?
Probably not. At the 11 May 2026 policy meeting, the government exempted some candidates from the UTME, but for ND the exemption covered only non-technology agricultural and agriculture-related courses. FCC Oji River’s courses are business, management and computing programmes, and none of them has been named as exempt. Plan to sit the UTME. If you think your course might qualify, ask JAMB or the college before you skip the exam.
FCC Oji River departments and UTME subject combination
In January 2023 the college’s admission officer, Mr Obinna Ezeano, told Primetime Reporters that seven departments were admitting for ND and HND. Use of English is compulsory in the UTME, so each combination below is the three subjects you add to it.
| Department | UTME subjects (with Use of English) | How sure |
|---|---|---|
| Cooperative Economics and Management | Mathematics or a science subject, plus two social science subjects (the college’s own remark in JAMB’s brochure) | JAMB brochure, FEDCOOP-OJI remark |
| Accountancy | Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | JAMB brochure general entry; no college remark |
| Banking and Finance | Usually Mathematics, Economics and one social science or commercial subject | JAMB’s usual combination; confirm on the e-brochure |
| Business Administration | Usually Mathematics, Economics and one other | JAMB’s usual combination; confirm on the e-brochure |
| Marketing | Usually Mathematics, Economics and one other | JAMB’s usual combination; confirm on the e-brochure |
| Public Administration | Usually Mathematics, Economics or Government, and one other | JAMB’s usual combination; confirm on the e-brochure |
| Computer Science | Usually Mathematics, Physics and one other science | JAMB’s usual combination; confirm on the e-brochure |
The Cooperative Economics and Management line is the most specific. In Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s brochure entry for the course, a remark for FEDCOOP-OJI (the college’s code in the brochure) lets you offer Mathematics or a science such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, plus any two social science subjects. The general entry, which other schools follow, is Mathematics and two of Economics, Geography, Biology or Agricultural Science, History, Government, Commerce or Principles of Accounts. If you take Mathematics, Economics and Government, you satisfy both.
FCC Oji River O’level requirements
| Rule | What it says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| General ND rule for business courses | Five credits including English Language (not Literature) and Mathematics, plus three from a list such as Economics or Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Government, Geography, Office Practice, Biology or Agricultural Science | JAMB brochure entries for Cooperative Economics and Management and for Accountancy |
| FCC Oji River remark (Cooperative Economics and Management) | Four credits at one sitting or five credits at not more than two sittings; a pass in Mathematics is acceptable | JAMB brochure, FEDCOOP-OJI remark |
| Older college summary | Five credits including English and Mathematics, not more than two sittings | Schoolings.org, March 2021 (not official) |
The remark about a Mathematics pass is unusual, and the brochure shows it only on the Cooperative Economics and Management page; the Accountancy page has no FCC Oji River remark. Treat it as a fallback for that one course. For Accountancy, Banking and Finance and Computer Science, I would not apply without a Mathematics credit.
HND entry requirements
HND admission does not go through the UTME. The usual NBTE rule is an ND in the same or a related course, normally at lower credit or better, plus one year of supervised industrial training, along with the O’level requirements for the course. FCC Oji River has not published its own HND wording, so ask the college about the minimum ND grade and whether it takes graduates of other polytechnics.
FCC Oji River screening, forms and fees
FCC Oji River has not published a screening test, form price or portal for 2026/2027, and I found no official website for the college. Older reports give some idea of how it has run admissions:
| Detail | What was reported | When and where |
|---|---|---|
| Tuition and hostel | “Below N45,000.00 per session”, according to the admission officer | 2022/2023, Primetime Reporters |
| Hostel rooms | At most three students per room | Same report |
| Evening/Weekend ND and HND | Described as equal to the regular programme; forms ₦5,000 each for ND and HND | 12 October 2021, Myschool |
| Where forms were sold (2021) | At the college and at State and Divisional Co-operative Offices in Enugu and Anambra States | Same report |
The fee figure is an officer’s statement from 2022/2023, not a fee schedule, and prices have risen a great deal since then. Get the current figures from the college bursary before you budget.
The 2021 evening notice also said candidates without enough credits, below the UTME cut-off or with no UTME at all could be admitted and fix the gap in their first year. Do not count on that now. Since 2026 JAMB has stated that any admission outside CAPS is illegal, and an ND place with no UTME record cannot go through CAPS.
Worked example (illustrative)
FCC Oji River has published no aggregate formula, so this example only checks a candidate against the verified rules.
Chidera (an invented candidate) scored 168 in the UTME with Use of English, Mathematics, Economics and Government. Her WAEC (one sitting): English C5, Mathematics C6, Economics B3, Government C4, Commerce C5, Biology D7. She wants ND Cooperative Economics and Management.
- UTME score: 168 is 68 marks above the national minimum of 100 and above my safe target of 140.
- UTME subjects: Mathematics plus two social sciences. This meets both the college remark and the general entry.
- O’level: five credits in one sitting, including English and Mathematics. Pass.
- Institution choice: she must have FCC Oji River on her JAMB profile, or make a change of institution.
- Outcome: on the published rules she qualifies; the rest depends on the college offering her a place on CAPS before the deadline.
How to get admitted into FCC Oji River
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick the Federal Co-operative College, Oji River and your ND course, with the right subject combination. Our JAMB 2027 registration guide covers the dates.
- Check your score: 100 is the floor. See how to check your JAMB result. If FCC Oji River was not your choice, use a JAMB change of institution.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB office or accredited centre once your result is out.
- Follow the college’s screening: buy any form only at the college or a channel it names in an official notice.
- Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB allowed four weeks to accept in 2026/2027. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows each screen.
- Pay acceptance and register: confirm the acceptance and school fees with the college bursary first.
Warning
FCC Oji River has no official website that I could find, which makes it an easy target for fake “portal” links. Buy forms only at the college or a co-operative office the college names, and make sure any ND offer appears on your JAMB CAPS before you pay school fees.
Your chances at FCC Oji River
The college has not published applicant numbers or departmental cut-offs, so nobody can give you real odds. It is a small college with seven departments, and I would expect a candidate with 140 or more and clean O’levels to stand a good chance. Below 120, I would also list a second school.
- Wrong UTME subjects: Computer Science needs sciences; the business courses need Mathematics and social sciences.
- Not choosing the college on JAMB: the college cannot offer you a place on CAPS if it is not on your profile.
- O’level not on CAPS: upload as soon as your result is out.
- Leaving it late: JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education. The minimum age for admission is 16.
Studying at the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River
ND programmes take two years and HND programmes another two, with the industrial training year in between; that is the standard NBTE structure, which I could not confirm in a college document. NBTE accreditation of each programme is not confirmed. A 2021 school-listing site called the courses NBTE-accredited, but I could not check that against NBTE, so ask the college for the accreditation status of your department before you pay.
In the 2023 interview the admission officer also said the college had had no strikes since it started, that the campus had steady power and water, and that it does not tolerate extortion or cult activity. Those are the college’s own claims.
What each department leads to
