Uyo City Poly has not published a cut-off mark of its own, so the figure that applies is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics: 100 in the UTME for 2026/2027. A blog post on the school’s 2026/2027 ND form also gives 100 and says first or second choice candidates can apply. The bigger question for this school is different: I could not find Uyo City Polytechnic on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s institution lists, so you should confirm that it appears on JAMB’s portal, with your course, before you register for it.
2027/2028 update: Uyo City Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum, because Uyo City Poly has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
The school is real and approved. NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists Uyo City Polytechnic, P.M.B. 1067, Uyo, as a private polytechnic approved in 2014 (serial number 132). Finelib, a business directory, says it was founded in 2013, gives its address as Nduetong Oku in Uyo, and gives the website as uyocitypoly.edu.ng. It is not on Wikipedia’s list of polytechnics in Nigeria. Its course list comes only from blogs, so this page tells you what is known, what is not, and how to check.
Uyo City Poly cut-off mark and admission requirements at a glance
| Item | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| NBTE listing | Private polytechnic, P.M.B. 1067, Uyo, approved 2014 | NBTE 2020 Directory, serial number 132 |
| JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | 100 | Official, 2026/2027 (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| School cut-off for 2026/2027 | 100, first or second choice | Blog (schoolings.org, page updated 13 March 2026); unofficial |
| JAMB course list for the school | Not found | Not on Myschool’s institution lists when I searched |
| ND courses | Ten names on blogs (see below) | Unofficial |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus course subjects | JAMB polytechnic brochure (general rule) |
| Portal | uyocitypoly.edu.ng/eportals/ | Blog; not opened |
| Form fee and screening dates | Not published | Not in any source I found |
| JAMB deadline for 2026/2027 polytechnic admissions | 31 December 2026 | Official; runs until 31 December 2026 |
Uyo City Poly cut-off mark: what the figures say
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | Eligibility line in a blog post on the school’s ND form | Unofficial |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
Both the official and the blog figure are 100, so there is no conflict on the number. If you score 100 or more and the school accepts your course through CAPS, you meet the score rule. Any score above that improves your position.
Safe target scores (my advice)
| Course | Legal minimum | My safe target for 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Accountancy | 100 | 125 or more |
| Business Administration and Management | 100 | 115 or more |
| Computer Science | 100 | 130 or more |
| Statistics | 100 | 115 or more |
| Computer Engineering Technology | 100 | 125 or more |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | 100 | 120 or more |
I set these a little lower than for larger polytechnics because a small private school rarely turns away qualified candidates. The real hurdle here is the JAMB listing, not the score.
Courses at Uyo City Poly (as reported)
Two blog sources give the course list. Schoolings.org (first posted 2018, updated 2020) and Finelib name a School of Management Sciences with Accountancy and Business Administration (ND and HND), a School of Sciences with Computer Science and Statistics (ND and HND), and a School of Engineering with Computer Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering (ND). They list Mass Communication, Public Administration, Marketing, Science Laboratory Technology and Mechanical Engineering as “upcoming”. The 2026/2027 blog post names ten ND courses: Science Laboratory Technology, Mass Communication, Public Administration, Business Administration, Accountancy, Marketing, Statistics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science.
| Course | Usual UTME subjects besides English (JAMB polytechnic brochure) | O’level core |
|---|---|---|
| Accountancy | Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English, Mathematics + three business or related subjects |
| Business Administration and Management | Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English, Mathematics + three business or related subjects |
| Marketing | Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English, Mathematics + three business or related subjects |
| Public Administration | Government, History and Economics | English, Mathematics + three related subjects |
| Mass Communication | Any three subjects from Arts, Social Science or Physical Science | English, Mathematics + three related subjects |
| Computer Science | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics or Chemistry | Mathematics, English, Physics + two others |
| Statistics | Mathematics and two related subjects (the brochure page did not load; see the note below) | English, Mathematics, a science + two others |
| Computer Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English + one more |
| Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology | Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry | Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English + one more |
| Science Laboratory Technology | Any three of Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Physics | English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics |
The subject lines are JAMB’s general polytechnic brochure lines for each course, read on Myschool’s reprint on 3 November 2026; Statistics is a comparison pattern because its brochure page loads empty. I could not check whether JAMB has any remark for Uyo City Poly, because I could not find the school on JAMB’s lists. One blog claims the courses are “approved by NABTEB”. That is wrong: NABTEB runs exams, while NBTE approves polytechnic programmes.
HND
The blogs say HND runs in Accountancy, Business Administration, Computer Science and Statistics. HND admission is direct to the polytechnic, outside JAMB, and the standard NBTE rule asks for an ND at Lower Credit or better plus a year of industrial attachment. Ask the school for each HND programme’s NBTE status before you apply.
How to check Uyo City Poly before you apply
- On JAMB: when you register or do a change of institution, search the institution list for Uyo City Polytechnic and check that your course appears under it.
- On NBTE: ask the school for the NBTE accreditation letter for your course. The school itself is on NBTE’s 2020 Directory, but that does not cover every course.
- On campus: visit the school in Uyo, confirm the course is admitting for 2027/2028, and get the fees in writing.
- On CAPS: an offer only counts if it appears on your JAMB CAPS page.
Worked example (illustrative)
Take Affiong, who wants Computer Science and scored 121 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Score: 121 is above JAMB’s 100 and the blog’s 100.
- Subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry fit the polytechnic Computer Science line, and her Physics credit meets the O’level rule.
- Listing: before choosing Uyo City Poly, she searches the JAMB portal and finds whether Computer Science appears under it.
- Decision: if it does not appear, she picks a listed school such as Federal Polytechnic Ukana or Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic instead.
How to apply, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Check the school on JAMB first: when you register, search for Uyo City Polytechnic on the JAMB portal and confirm your course is listed under it. If it is not there, CAPS cannot admit you to it.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: use the JAMB e-brochure line for your course (the course table above gives the usual polytechnic lines).
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: at an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your result is out.
- Use the school’s portal or office: blogs give the portal as uyocitypoly.edu.ng/eportals/. Check that it loads and belongs to the school, or go to the campus in Uyo, before you pay anything.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept only an offer that shows there. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing and pay only through the channel the school names.
Warning
Do not pay acceptance or school fees for any course that does not show your offer on JAMB CAPS. JAMB has said that admissions outside CAPS are illegal, and an unlisted course can leave you with a result that JAMB will not regularise.
My advice
- If you find Uyo City Poly and your course on JAMB’s portal, the 100 minimum makes entry straightforward.
- If you cannot find it, choose a listed school. In Uyo itself, see our pages on Trinity Poly and Southern Atlantic Poly.
- For a larger public option, see Federal Poly Ukana Computer Science or Akwa Ibom Poly Accountancy.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.

Uyo City Poly: frequently asked questions
What is the cut off mark for Uyo City Polytechnic? 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027; a blog post on the school’s form gives the same figure.
Is Uyo City Polytechnic approved? NBTE’s 2020 Directory lists it as a private polytechnic approved in 2014. I could not confirm each course’s accreditation or find the school on JAMB’s institution lists, so check both.
What courses are offered in Uyo City Polytechnic? Blogs name Accountancy, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Science Laboratory Technology at ND. Confirm each on JAMB’s portal.
Can I apply to Uyo City Poly as my second choice? The 2026/2027 blog post says first or second choice candidates can apply. Your offer still has to come through CAPS.
Sources and updates
The 2026/2027 polytechnic minimum of 100, the 31 December 2026 deadline and the warning against admissions outside CAPS come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026); the 2025/2026 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). The school’s approval year and address are from NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes (serial number 132). The founding year, Nduetong Oku address and website are from Finelib. The course lists, HND list, portal address, 100 eligibility line and first or second choice rule are from schoolings.org (“list of accredited courses”, 2018/2020, and the 2026/2027 ND form post, updated 13 March 2026), which are unofficial. Subject lines are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure. I searched Myschool for a JAMB course list for the school and found none. Safe targets and the example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026.
