The ADSU cut-off mark for Agribusiness is 150 in the UTME. Adamawa State University, Mubi printed that figure for “Agribusiness” in its approved programme cut-off list for the 2026/2027 session, signed for the Registrar by Admission Officer Dunfe S. Anjili. That matches JAMB’s national minimum for universities.
2027/2028 update: ADSU cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Before you plan around this course, know that I could not find Agribusiness on JAMB’s course list for ADSU, as reprinted by Myschool on 3 November 2026. JAMB’s general Agribusiness entry also uses a commercial UTME combination that differs from ADSU’s other agric courses. Both points affect your registration, and this page explains them along with the official figure, a safe target and the alternatives.
Confirm before you register
Agribusiness is on ADSU’s 2026/2027 cut-off list but not on JAMB’s course list for ADSU that I checked. Confirm that you can select it on the JAMB portal, or that ADSU will admit into it through CAPS, before you register or pay. Agricultural Economics and Extension is on the JAMB list at the same 150.

ADSU Agribusiness cut-off history
| Session | ADSU cut-off for Agribusiness | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | ADSU approved programme cut-off list (signed for the Registrar by Dunfe S. Anjili) |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | ADSU programme cut-off list for 2025/2026 (signed for the Registrar by Angyatiya B. Atimi) |
| Change | No change | Comparison of the two official lists |
ADSU kept Agribusiness at 150 in both sessions. Most of ADSU’s list did not move between the two years. The changes were at the top: Law rose from 220 to 230 for Adamawa indigenes and from 250 to 260 for everyone else, Biochemistry went from 160 to 170, and Animal Production and Business Administration went from 150 to 160. Two years at 150 is a good sign that 150 is the figure to plan with for 2027/2028.
Where Agribusiness sits among ADSU’s cut-off tiers
| ADSU cut-off | Programmes on the 2026/2027 list |
|---|---|
| 230 (Adamawa indigenes) and 260 (non-indigenes) | Common Law and Sharia |
| 170 | Biochemistry, Microbiology, Computer Science |
| 160 | Animal Production, Cyber Security, Business Administration, Mass Communication |
| 150 | Every other programme on the list, including all Arts and Education courses and the remaining Agriculture, Science, Management and Social Science courses |
Agribusiness is in the 150 group with the other agric courses except Animal Production (160). It is also 10 marks below Business Administration (160), which some candidates weigh against it.
The subject combination problem
JAMB’s general brochure entry for Agribusiness asks for a commercial UTME combination: Mathematics, Economics and one of Government, Principles of Accounts, Christian Religious Knowledge or Geography. At O’level, though, the same entry asks for Biology or Agricultural Science and Chemistry. ADSU’s listed agric courses use a science UTME line instead.
| Line | General Agribusiness entry | ADSU Agricultural Economics and Extension |
|---|---|---|
| UTME | Mathematics, Economics + Government, Principles of Accounts, CRK or Geography | Chemistry, Biology/Agric + Mathematics or Physics |
| O’level | English, Mathematics, Biology/Agric, Chemistry + one relevant (not more than two sittings) | English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric + Physics, Economics or Geography |
| On JAMB’s ADSU list | No | Yes |
So which do you register? If you can select ADSU Agribusiness on the JAMB portal, follow the subjects JAMB shows for it there. If you cannot, register Agricultural Economics and Extension with the science line and ask ADSU about Agribusiness at screening. Candidates who register a commercial UTME combination and then cannot get Agribusiness will not fit the other agric courses.
Safe target score for Agribusiness at ADSU (my advice)
ADSU publishes a minimum score for each course and nothing about the scores of the people it finally admitted. The table below is my judgement as an admissions adviser, based on where Agribusiness sits on ADSU’s list. It is not an ADSU rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for ADSU Agribusiness |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for Agribusiness at ADSU, and below JAMB’s national minimum for universities |
| 150 to 164 | Eligible. Clean O’level results and early CAPS upload matter most here |
| 165 to 179 | Comfortable for a 150-tier course at ADSU |
| 180 and above | Strong. This is the range I would aim for |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 170, ideally 180. Keep credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Economics so that you fit both possible lines.
Catchment and indigeneship
The only catchment rule on ADSU’s 2026/2027 list is in Law, where Adamawa indigenes need 230 and everyone else needs 260. Agribusiness has one figure, 150, for every candidate. ADSU has published no state quota or catchment split for the course, so a candidate from Borno, Gombe or Lagos faces the same printed minimum as one from Mubi.
UTME subject combination and O’level for ADSU Agribusiness
| Requirement | Agribusiness at ADSU |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (general JAMB Agribusiness line) | Use of English, Mathematics, Economics, and one of Government, Principles of Accounts, CRK or Geography |
| O’level (general line) | Five credits at not more than two sittings: English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and one other relevant subject |
| ADSU general rule | Five credits including English Language and Mathematics (2026/2027 notice) |
| Direct Entry (general line) | Two A-level passes in Economics and one of Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics/Mathematics |
| ADSU-specific remark | None. ADSU does not appear on the JAMB brochure page for this course that I checked |
| Status | Confirm on the JAMB portal and with ADSU |
The O’level line is where most commercial-class students fall short: it asks for Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science credits. If you are in a commercial class, check that you sat and passed both.
The general line is JAMB’s rule for the course name at universities that run it. ADSU may set its own remark once the course is on its JAMB list, so treat this as a guide.
Direct Entry
The general Direct Entry line asks for two A-level passes in Economics and one of Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography, or Statistics or Mathematics. I found nothing ADSU-specific. ADSU screened Direct Entry candidates online in 2026/2027.
How ADSU screening worked for Agribusiness in 2026/2027
ADSU ran its 2026/2027 screening online. Its notice, as reprinted by Myschool on 12 June 2026, described an online exercise and did not announce any written test, so do not let anyone sell you ADSU “post-UTME past questions” as if a test were certain.
| Detail | ADSU 2026/2027 screening |
|---|---|
| Who could apply | Candidates who chose ADSU as first choice in the 2026 UTME, scored 150 or more and met the course cut-off, plus Direct Entry candidates. Others had to make ADSU their first choice on the JAMB portal |
| Minimum for Agribusiness | 150 |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language and Mathematics |
| Fee | ₦2,000 |
| Dates | Monday 15 June to 30 October 2026 (closed) |
| Where | www.adsu.edu.ng, through the post UTME link |
| Written test | None announced in the notice |
Worked example: two Agribusiness candidates
ADSU has not published an aggregate formula, and with no announced test there was no Post-UTME score to combine with the UTME. So the useful sum is the gap between your score, the 150 cut-off and the safe target above. The two candidates below are illustrations.
- Zainab (169; UTME English, Mathematics, Economics and Geography; credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Biology and Chemistry): 169 minus 150 = 19 marks above the cut-off and her UTME fits the general Agribusiness line. If ADSU Agribusiness is not selectable, she does not fit Agricultural Economics and Extension, because she has no Chemistry in the UTME.
- Peter (175; UTME English, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics; same five credits): 175 minus 150 = 25 marks. He fits Agricultural Economics and Extension now and can ask about Agribusiness after.
Peter is the safer applicant even though Zainab picked the subjects that match the course title. With a course that is missing from the JAMB list, keep a backup that your subjects already fit.
How to apply for Agribusiness at ADSU, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: if Agribusiness is selectable for ADSU, use the subjects the portal shows for it; if not, choose Agricultural Economics and Extension with English, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics, with Adamawa State University, Mubi as your first choice.
- Fix your first choice if needed: ADSU’s notice told candidates who had not chosen ADSU to change their first choice to ADSU on the JAMB portal. Our guide to JAMB change of institution explains how.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at an accredited JAMB centre as soon as your result is out. ADSU needs five credits including English Language and Mathematics.
- Complete ADSU screening: when ADSU opens screening (in 2026 it ran from 15 June to 30 October), go to www.adsu.edu.ng, click the post UTME link, fill in your details and pay the screening fee (₦2,000 in 2026). Print what the portal gives you.
- Watch and accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer when it appears. JAMB gives four weeks to accept.
- Pay acceptance and clear: ADSU’s acceptance fee was not in any official source I could reach, so take the amount and payment method from the ADSU portal itself, never from an agent.
JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for public universities, and ADSU is a state-owned public university; that date has now passed. If you applied in 2026, check your status on JAMB CAPS and the ADSU portal. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status. If you are writing the UTME in 2027, start with when JAMB 2027 registration starts.
Studying Agribusiness at ADSU
Agribusiness is in ADSU’s Faculty of Agriculture at Mubi. ADSU has not stated the degree title or duration. Agriculture degrees in Nigeria are usually B.Agric and normally run five years through the UTME.
Accreditation
NUC’s accreditation results publication (1990 to 2025) has no Agribusiness line for ADSU. It lists ADSU Agriculture as Full, maturing in 2029. Ask ADSU about the programme’s NUC approval before you pay acceptance.
What you study
Agribusiness degrees usually combine farm production with business courses. ADSU has not published an outline that I could check, so read this as typical content.
- Business core: agribusiness management, accounting, finance and entrepreneurship.
- Markets: agricultural marketing, value chains, pricing and trade in farm produce.
- Production base: crop and animal production, storage and processing.
- Practice: farm or agribusiness placements and a final project, often a business plan or market study.
Careers
- Agro-processing, input supply and commodity trading companies
- Agricultural lending and finance
- Running a farm business or processing outfit
- Project roles with development programmes and NGOs

Mistakes that cost Agribusiness applicants an ADSU place
- No Chemistry or Biology credit: the general O’level line asks for both.
- Reading 150 as an admission score: it is the minimum to be considered. Admission still depends on the pool of applicants.
- Missing Mathematics: ADSU’s notice asked for five credits including English Language and Mathematics, whatever the course.
- No O’level on CAPS: an upload done late or at the wrong centre leaves your record incomplete when ADSU reviews it.
- Leaving ADSU as second choice: the screening notice was for first-choice candidates.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee and clearance at ADSU are separate steps.
If you are trying again, our guide to JAMB change of course covers what you can still change after registration.
ADSU Agribusiness cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
Does ADSU offer Agribusiness? Yes, it is on ADSU’s 2026/2027 cut-off list at 150. I could not find it on JAMB’s course list for ADSU, so confirm on the JAMB portal.
What subjects are needed for Agribusiness in JAMB? JAMB’s general Agribusiness line is Mathematics, Economics and one of Government, Principles of Accounts, CRK or Geography, with Use of English.
Can a commercial student study Agribusiness at ADSU? The UTME line suits commercial students, but the O’level line asks for Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science credits too.
How much was the ADSU screening form? ADSU charged ₦2,000 for its 2026/2027 online screening, which ran from 15 June to 30 October 2026. Wait for the 2027/2028 notice before paying again, because the fee can change.
