The Fed Poly Ohodo Accountancy cut off mark is 100 in the UTME, the minimum JAMB set for all polytechnics for 2026/2027. Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (FEDPOD) has not published a departmental cut-off for ND Accountancy, so 100 is the only official figure. It gets you to the starting line and no further.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Before you plan around that number, read this. Fed Poly Ohodo advertised ND Accountancy in its official 2025/2026 notice and again in its 2026/2027 notice, but Accountancy is not on JAMB’s course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, as Myschool reprints it. That list has only two courses: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. Unless JAMB adds Accountancy for the polytechnic, a UTME candidate cannot be offered it through CAPS. Check the live JAMB e-brochure when you register, and look at the alternatives further down: the two courses FEDPOD does have on JAMB’s list, and the same course at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY.
Below are the cut-off history, my safe target, the JAMB brochure rules for Accountancy, the screening details that exist, worked examples, the CAPS steps and the Enugu schools where Accountancy is on JAMB’s list.
Fed Poly Ohodo Accountancy cut off mark at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics (applies to FEDPOD) | 100 | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| Fed Poly Ohodo departmental cut-off for Accountancy | Not published | No figure in the official or reprinted notices |
| My safe target score (advice) | 130 or higher; 150 is comfortable | Consultant advice, not a FEDPOD rule |
| School at FEDPOD | School of Business Studies and Management Technology | Official 2025/2026 notice |
| On FEDPOD’s JAMB course list (Myschool reprint) | No | Only EEE and SLT listed, checked 29 October 2026 |
| UTME subjects | English, Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts, Economics | JAMB brochure; no FEDPOD remark |
| O’level | Five credits incl. English Language (not Literature) and Mathematics, plus three from a list | JAMB brochure; no FEDPOD remark |
| Level | National Diploma (ND) | No HND Accountancy advertised by FEDPOD for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 |
Is Accountancy on Fed Poly Ohodo’s JAMB course list?
No, not on the reprint I checked on 29 October 2026. Myschool’s copy of the JAMB institution course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (shown as FPO) has exactly two entries, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. The polytechnic itself lists ND Accountancy in the 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng, and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool repeats it. Accountancy was not among the three programmes the Rector said in April 2025 had been mounted and accredited; it first appears in the November 2025 notice.
Here is what that means for a UTME candidate. Every polytechnic admission now goes through JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. CAPS can only carry an offer for a course JAMB has approved for that school. If Accountancy is still missing from FEDPOD’s list when you register, you cannot pick it, and FEDPOD cannot offer it to you on CAPS. A reprint can lag behind a young school, so the list may change, but nobody should plan on that.
- When you register for the 2027 UTME, search for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on JAMB’s e-brochure and see whether Accountancy appears. If it does, choose it and the rest of this page applies.
- If it does not, contact the admissions office (admissions@fedpod.edu.ng, 08160290499, 09077772977) before you register and ask whether JAMB has approved the course for the school. Do not pay for a FEDPOD form for this course until the answer is clear.
- If it is still not listed, neither course FEDPOD has on JAMB’s list (Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology) fits a commercial combination, so the practical move is Accountancy at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY, where it is on JAMB’s list.
- Refuse any “arrangement” that skips CAPS. An offer that never appears on CAPS cannot be regularised later.
Not on JAMB’s list for FEDPOD
Accountancy is advertised by Fed Poly Ohodo but is missing from its JAMB course list as reprinted by Myschool. Unless JAMB adds it, you cannot be offered it through CAPS. Confirm it on the JAMB e-brochure before you register or pay for anything.
Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark history for Accountancy
Fed Poly Ohodo has not published a departmental cut-off for Accountancy in any session I could trace. The figures that exist are the national floors JAMB sets for every polytechnic.
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (Nairametrics and Channels TV, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | Not published | Fed Poly Ohodo departmental cut-off for Accountancy | No figure on fedpod.edu.ng or in the reprinted notices |
Accountancy is one of the newest courses at Ohodo, so there is no admission record or score list from earlier sessions to read from.
Safe target score for Accountancy at Fed Poly Ohodo (my advice)
Accountancy is usually the busiest business course at South East polytechnics. The bands below are my judgement from that pattern and are for planning only.
| Your UTME score | My read for Accountancy at FEDPOD |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any polytechnic |
| 100 to 114 | Eligible to apply; credits in English, Mathematics and Economics matter most |
| 115 to 129 | Possible |
| 130 to 149 | Competitive |
| 150 and above | Strong for ND Accountancy at FEDPOD |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 130. That score also keeps Accountancy open at IMT Enugu, which is a large school with many applicants for the course.
Catchment and state of origin
Federal polytechnics admit from every state, and FEDPOD has not published any catchment or merit split. Your score and credits matter more than your state of origin.
Fed Poly Ohodo Accountancy subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Accountancy (JAMB polytechnic brochure) |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts, Economics |
| FEDPOD remark (UTME) | None in the brochure |
| Combinations that fit | English, Mathematics, Economics, Principles of Accounts; or English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce; or English, Mathematics, Economics, Government |
| O’level | Five credits in English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| FEDPOD remark (O’level) | None in the brochure |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (SSCE or GCE) |
| Direct Entry | Not used for ND; ND entry is through the UTME and CAPS |
Mathematics is fixed in both the UTME and the O’level for Accountancy. Many commercial students lose the course on Mathematics alone, so treat a D7 or E8 there as a problem to fix before screening with a NECO or WAEC GCE resit. Note also that the brochure asks for English Language, not Literature in English.
I would register English, Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts. It fits the general rule, and IMT’s remark only concerns O’level sittings.
Sittings, awaiting results and HND
The JAMB brochure gives remarks for some schools (IMT Enugu, Oko and Ilaro among them) limiting credits to two sittings. There is no FEDPOD remark, and FEDPOD has not published a sittings rule, so plan on two sittings at most. You can sit the UTME while awaiting results, but CAPS cannot carry an offer until the result is uploaded. FEDPOD did not advertise HND Accountancy for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027.
How Fed Poly Ohodo screens ND Accountancy candidates
Fed Poly Ohodo announces admissions but publishes very little about how it ranks applicants. The official 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng (17 November 2025) and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026) list the programmes and send applicants to the portal. Neither gives a form fee, a closing date or a screening format. So the honest position is that we know the gate (JAMB’s 100 and your O’level) and not the ranking method.
| Detail | What we know | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who applies | Candidates who chose Fed Poly Ohodo and scored at least JAMB’s polytechnic minimum | Standard JAMB rule |
| Where | portal.fedpod.edu.ng, linked from fedpod.edu.ng | Official (2025/2026 notice) |
| Form fee | Not published | Confirm on the portal before paying |
| Screening method | Not published (no post-UTME date, test format or aggregate formula announced) | Ask the admissions office |
| Modes | Full-time and part-time ND and HND invited for 2026/2027 | Notice as reprinted by Myschool; it does not say which courses run part-time |
| Admission deadline for polytechnics (2026/2027 cycle) | Runs until 31 December 2026 | Official (JAMB, via NAN) |
| Time to accept an offer on CAPS | Four weeks | Official (JAMB, via NAN) |
| Enquiries | admissions@fedpod.edu.ng; 08160290499; 09077772977 | Official notice |
Worked examples for Accountancy applicants
FEDPOD has not published an aggregate formula, so these examples check the score gap and the subjects only.
Blessing scored 137 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts. From one WAEC sitting she has C5 in English, C4 in Mathematics, B3 in Economics, C5 in Commerce, B2 in Financial Accounting and C6 in Government.
- Eligibility: 137 minus 100 = 37. She clears JAMB’s minimum.
- Against my safe target: 137 minus 130 = 7. She is competitive.
- UTME subjects: Mathematics plus Economics and Principles of Accounts fit the rule.
- O’level: English and Mathematics are credits, and Economics, Commerce and Financial Accounting (Principles of Accounts) cover the other three.
- Listing check: if Accountancy is still missing under FEDPOD on JAMB, she should choose Accountancy at IMT or ESPOLY instead. Her profile fits both.
Kelechi scored 118 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Biology. Biology is not one of the UTME options for Accountancy, so his combination does not fit at any polytechnic under the general rule, whatever the listing. Mathematics and Economics are fine; he needs one more listed subject, so he should plan a 2027 UTME with Commerce, Government or Principles of Accounts in place of Biology.
How to apply for Accountancy at Fed Poly Ohodo, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Confirm the course on JAMB: check whether Accountancy appears under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on the e-brochure. If it does not, choose Accountancy at a school where it is listed.
- Register the right subjects: English, Mathematics and two of Economics, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts or Geography. If you picked another school first, a JAMB change of institution is possible while the polytechnic is still admitting, and a JAMB change of course fixes a wrong course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to an accredited CBT centre and have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded. No institution can recommend you on CAPS without it.
- Fill the Fed Poly Ohodo form: when the admission notice appears on fedpod.edu.ng, apply on portal.fedpod.edu.ng. Use an email address and phone number you check daily, and print every receipt and acknowledgement page.
- Check your status: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and open CAPS. Also watch the polytechnic portal for its own list.
- Accept within four weeks: JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept 2026 offers. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Ohodo has not published its acceptance or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only against an invoice generated on the polytechnic portal.
Every genuine offer appears on JAMB CAPS. Anyone selling a FEDPOD Accountancy place is outside the process.
Your chances of getting Accountancy at Fed Poly Ohodo
If the course is listed for FEDPOD when you register, a candidate with the right subjects, a solid Mathematics credit and 130 or more has a good chance, because FEDPOD is small and its business school is new. While Accountancy is missing from JAMB’s list for the school, though, no UTME score can turn into a CAPS offer for it. That is why I would keep IMT or ESPOLY in the plan.
Studying Accountancy at Fed Poly Ohodo
ND Accountancy is a two-year full-time programme with SIWES, in the NBTE pattern. FEDPOD has not put its course outline online, so the list below is the general ND Accountancy pattern.
What you study
- Accounting: principles of accounting, financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Assurance and tax: introduction to auditing and taxation.
- Public sector: government and public sector accounting.
- Business background: economics, business law, management and commerce.
- Numbers and computers: business mathematics, statistics and computer applications in accounting.
- Practical work: SIWES with a firm or public office, and a final project.
Accreditation
Accountancy was not among the three programmes the Rector named in April 2025, so it was added later. The 2026/2027 notice, as reprinted, says all the programmes it lists are approved and accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). At the third matriculation on 22 May 2026, the Rector, Dr Ediri Emmanuel Agada, also cited NBTE accreditation of additional ND and HND programmes. NBTE has not published a programme-by-programme result for Fed Poly Ohodo that I could find, so the exact status and date for Accountancy are not confirmed. Ask the department to show the current NBTE letter during clearance.
Careers

About the polytechnic
Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo is in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, beside Ohodo Bus Stop along the Opi to 9th Mile road, and it is the only federal polytechnic in the state. It is young: it held its third matriculation on 22 May 2026. In an April 2025 interview with Blueprint, the Rector said the school ran only Electrical and Electronics Engineering when he took office, and that it then mounted Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science and Public Administration. At the 2026 matriculation he asked for help building the access road to the permanent site. Blueprint also reported a finished science building and business school building, with the hostel, library and refectory about 80% complete at the time. Expect a small campus that is still being built up.

Alternatives to Fed Poly Ohodo for Accountancy in Enugu State
If Accountancy does not show under Fed Poly Ohodo when you register, or the admissions office cannot tell you how it admits into the course, these Enugu State schools are the realistic alternatives.
| School | Type | Why it is an option |
|---|---|---|
| IMT Enugu | State polytechnic | Accountancy is on JAMB’s list for IMT; its brochure remark asks for five credits at no more than two sittings. See our IMT Accountancy guide. |
| Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo (ESPOLY) | State polytechnic | Accountancy is on its JAMB list as reprinted by Myschool |
| Federal Cooperative College, Oji River | Federal college (ND and HND) | Reported admitting into Accountancy; its JAMB listing was not confirmed. See our FCC Oji River Accountancy guide. |
Fed Poly Ohodo’s two listed courses (Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology) need science subjects, so they are not a realistic switch for most Accountancy candidates.
Mistakes that cost Accountancy applicants a FEDPOD place
- Choosing an unlisted course: if Accountancy is not under FEDPOD on JAMB, CAPS cannot carry the offer.
- Registering Biology or Literature: neither is a UTME option for Accountancy.
- A weak Mathematics grade: it is fixed in both the UTME and O’level.
- Using Literature in place of English: the O’level credit must be in English Language.
- No O’level upload on CAPS: no school can recommend you without it.

What are the JAMB subjects for Accountancy in polytechnic? English, Mathematics and two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics.
Can I study Accountancy without a credit in Mathematics? Not under the general JAMB rule, which makes Mathematics a compulsory credit. Resit it before screening.
Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics in 2026, the 31 December 2026 admission deadline for the 2026/2027 cycle, the four-week acceptance window and the warning that admissions outside CAPS are illegal come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 minimum of 100 is from Nairametrics and Channels TV (8 July 2025). The 2025/2026 programme list, portal and contacts are from the polytechnic’s official admission notice (17 November 2025), and the 2026/2027 list and NBTE statement from the notice as reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026). The course list JAMB shows for the school is from Myschool’s Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo course list, checked on 29 October 2026. The UTME subjects, O’level list and the remarks for other schools, including IMT, are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure entry for Accountancy, also checked on 29 October 2026. The Rector’s remarks on programmes and facilities are from Blueprint (9 April 2025) and the polytechnic’s matriculation report (22 May 2026). Form fees, screening format and acceptance fees have not been published. The safe target scores and the worked examples are my own advice. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Ohodo publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
