AKSCONS Eket Campus (School of Nursing Eket) Admission Requirements 2027/2028, Cut-Off and Entrance Exam

The former School of Nursing Eket is now an AKSCONS campus. Apply centrally with 190 in the UTME and AKSCONS first. Its nursing approval is still Provisional on NMCN’s list: here is what that means.

To train at the AKSCONS Eket campus, the former School of Nursing Eket, you apply through the central Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences (AKSCONS) admission. For 2026/2027 that meant 190 or more in the 2026 UTME with AKSCONS as first choice, five credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two sittings, a minimum age of 16, online registration and a post-UTME screening. One thing sets Eket apart: its general nursing programme is still shown as Provisional on NMCN’s December 2025 list.

2027/2028 update: AKSCONS Eket campus cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Eket also hosts the college’s Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing department, the former School of Psychiatric Nursing, Eket, which has Full NMCN approval and admits registered nurses only. That route is covered on our AKSCONS Eket psychiatric nursing page. The 2026/2027 ND Nursing window (1 September to 2 October 2026) has closed.

What Eket’s Provisional status means

NMCN gives Provisional approval for two years and Full approval for five. Eket’s nursing entry was Provisional from January 2018 on the 2022 list, and Provisional from January 2021 on the December 2025 list. A two-year status dated January 2021 would have run out in early 2023 on paper. The list has not been updated for Eket since, so I cannot tell you whether NMCN has revisited the campus.

In practical terms: Eket has kept a nursing quota and remains on the approved list, so it is not withdrawn. But Provisional is weaker than Full, and if a later NMCN visit goes badly, admissions can be suspended. If you are posted to Eket, ask the college for its current NMCN status in writing, and keep an eye on the NMCN list during your training.

Safe target score (consultant advice)

Aim for 210 or more. This is my advice. Eket’s last published basic nursing quota was 50 (August 2022), the smallest of the AKSCONS nursing campuses with a readable figure.

Worked example (illustrative)

Imeh lives in Eket and scored 208 in the 2026 UTME with AKSCONS first. She has WAEC credits in all five subjects and is 17. She meets every 2026 rule, registers online and writes the screening at Aka Offot, Uyo, which is a journey from Eket, so she plans to travel the evening before for the 7:00 a.m. start.

Her neighbour Ekpenyong scored 186. He misses the 190 floor, so he cannot be considered in this cycle, however close he lives to the Eket campus. For 2027/2028 he should rewrite the UTME and aim for 210.

How to apply for a place that may be at Eket

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the 2027 UTME with AKSCONS as first choice: the 2026 advert required first choice. Take Use of English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, JAMB’s usual nursing combination (the advert did not list subjects; confirm on the JAMB e-brochure).
  3. Score well above 190: 190 was the 2026 floor. See the safe target below.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre, so the college can see your five science credits.
  5. Watch for the AKSCONS advert: the 2026 exercise ran online from 1 September to 2 October 2026. This is last year’s timing, not an announcement for 2027. Check www.akscons.edu.ng and reliable education news sites. If you are posted to Eket, ask for the campus’s current NMCN status.
  6. Register online and print the coloured acknowledgement slip: you need it at screening.
  7. Write the screening: in 2026 it held at Aka Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo, at 7:00 a.m. Arrive early with your slip.
  8. Check the admission list and accept on CAPS: AKSCONS publishes its list on www.akscons.edu.ng under Check Admission List. Then log in to efacility.jamb.gov.ng and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each CAPS status.
  9. Pay acceptance and school fees through the college’s own channel: AKSCONS has not published its fees in any source I reached.

Warning

AKSCONS warned in its 2026 advert that applicants should not pay anyone for admission, and the Federal Government has said admissions outside JAMB CAPS are illegal. Phone numbers and “form out, call now” posts on dataset and forum sites are not official. Apply only through www.akscons.edu.ng.

Iquita-OronMidwifery Full (Sept 2021); no nursing programme listedPost-basic midwifery 50

Anua, Ikot Ekpene and Ituk-Mbang have Full approval for nursing; Eket is the only nursing campus still shown as Provisional. NMCN gives Full approval for five years and Provisional approval for two. Most AKSCONS dates are from 2021, so on paper several have run past their term, and the December 2025 list simply repeats them. That usually means NMCN has not published a newer visit, not that a campus has lost approval. Still, check the current NMCN list before you accept an offer.
