The Marist Poly Public Administration and Management cut-off mark would be JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100, the 2026/2027 floor for every polytechnic. Marist Polytechnic, Emene has never published a departmental figure. Public Administration is also missing from JAMB’s course list for Marist, which decides whether you can be admitted into it at all.
2027/2028 update: Marist Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Marist’s website lists ND Public Administration and Management (twice) and a B.Sc. Public Administration. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s Marist list, checked on 30 October 2026, has six courses, and Public Administration is not among them. For a UTME candidate, that means you cannot choose Marist and Public Administration together when you register, and Marist cannot recommend you for it on CAPS. Treat the course’s status as unverified and confirm with the school in writing before paying for anything.
Below are the JAMB brochure rules for Public Administration, what the missing listing means, and the routes that do work for 2027/2028: Business Administration at Marist, and Public Administration at other Enugu polytechnics.

What this means for UTME candidates
- You cannot register the pairing: JAMB registration only offers courses on an institution’s list.
- CAPS cannot carry the offer: Marist can only recommend you on CAPS for a listed course.
- Offers outside CAPS are not valid: JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, and such students can lose their certificates and NYSC later.
- The list can change: JAMB adds courses after NBTE approval. Myschool’s reprint can lag, so check the live JAMB e-brochure when you register.
Marist did not include Public Administration in its 2025/2026 admission notice. The school reported an NBTE resource inspection in September 2025 without saying which programmes it covered. If you want a management course at Marist for 2027/2028, Business Administration and Management is the one on JAMB’s list.
Public Administration cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (JAMB policy meeting, NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Marist departmental cut-off for Public Administration | Never published |
Safe target score for ND Public Administration (my advice)
| Your UTME score | My read |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for full-time ND at any polytechnic |
| 100 to 139 | Eligible; usually enough at a private polytechnic, borderline at IMT |
| 140 to 169 | Competitive for ND Public Administration in Enugu |
| 170 and above | Comfortable anywhere in the state for the ND |
I would aim for 160 in the 2027 UTME. That covers IMT Enugu and OSISATECH, the two Enugu polytechnics whose Public Administration rules appear on the JAMB page, and keeps Business Administration at Marist open.
UTME subject combination and O’level for ND Public Administration
| Requirement | What JAMB’s brochure says |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English (compulsory) + Government, History and Economics |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language (not Literature in English), Mathematics and any three of Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand |
| Marist remark | None (Marist is not on the course page) |
| Direct Entry | Not listed on the reprint |
Remarks that matter in the South East
- IMT Enugu (IMTE): Literature in English, CRS, and Principles of Accounts or Commerce in the UTME, plus O’level credits in English and Mathematics.
- Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana (AKANUPOLY): Government/History, Economics/Commerce and Mathematics/CRS, and it accepts a pass in Mathematics.
- OSISATECH, Enugu: named among schools that need credits in English Language and Mathematics; no UTME remark, so the Government, History and Economics line applies.
- Imo State Polytechnic (IMOPOLY): has its own O’level remark; read it on the brochure before applying.
Many secondary schools in the South East do not teach History, which is why the IMT line suits so many candidates. Match your UTME subjects to the remark for the school you will actually choose.
Worked example (illustrative)
Ifeanyi scored 158 in English, Literature in English, CRS and Commerce. He has credits in English, Mathematics, Government, Economics and Literature, and he lives near Emene.
- Marist: Public Administration is not on JAMB’s Marist list, so he cannot be admitted into it there through CAPS.
- IMT Enugu: his Literature, CRS and Commerce match the IMTE remark exactly, and 158 is a strong score. This is his best Public Administration option.
- OSISATECH: his subjects do not match the Government, History and Economics line, and OSISATECH has no UTME remark.
- Marist itself: Business Administration and Management is on the list, but JAMB’s line for it is Mathematics plus two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics. Without Mathematics in his UTME, he does not fit it this year.
Alternatives for 2027/2028 candidates
At Marist Polytechnic
- Marist Poly Business Administration and Management cut-off mark: on JAMB’s list and in the 2025/2026 advert, with an HND to follow. Its UTME line is Mathematics plus two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics, so Government and Economics carry over.
- Marist Poly HND admission requirements: the HND options Marist lists.
- Marist Poly Statistics cut-off mark: on JAMB’s list, though missing from the school’s own page.
Public Administration at other polytechnics
- IMT Enugu cut-off mark for Public Administration
- OSISATECH Public Administration cut-off mark
- Federal Cooperative College Oji River Public Administration
How admission works at Marist Polytechnic, step by step
These steps apply to the ND courses on Marist’s JAMB list. For Public Administration, step 2 is where the route closes.
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: because Public Administration is not on JAMB’s Marist list, you cannot pick that pairing. Register for a course that is on the list, or for Public Administration at a school that has it on its list.
- Clear the minimum: 100 is JAMB’s floor for polytechnics. Aim well above it (see the safe target above).
- Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre. A result that is not on CAPS cannot be used for your admission. Marist’s website also has a JAMB CBT centre link.
- Make Marist your choice: Marist’s 2025/2026 advert asked applicants who had not chosen it to make it first choice at a JAMB CBT centre. Our JAMB change of institution guide shows the steps.
- Apply on the Marist portal: the Apply Now button on the official admissions page goes to portal.maristpolytechnic.edu.ng. Marist has not published a form price or screening date for 2026/2027.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and accept or reject the offer. JAMB says candidates have four weeks to do this. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay the acceptance fee and register: Marist has not published its acceptance fee. Pay only through the portal or a channel the school confirms in writing, and keep every receipt.
Warning
Marist Polytechnic’s official contacts are on maristpolytechnic.edu.ng (info@maristpolytechnic.edu.ng). Do not pay anyone who offers to “process” your admission, and do not accept an admission letter that never shows up on JAMB CAPS. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal.
JAMB fixed 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education.
About Marist Polytechnic and the course
Marist Polytechnic is a private Catholic polytechnic run by the Marist Brothers at Umuchigbo Iji-Nike, Emene, Enugu State. NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists it as a private polytechnic approved in 2016. Its courses page has a Management Sciences school, which is where Public Administration and Business Administration would sit.
What ND Public Administration covers
- Principles of public administration, Nigerian government and the constitution.
- Local government administration, public finance and budgeting.
- Personnel management, administrative law and public policy.
- Research methods, computer applications, SIWES and a final project.
The ND normally takes two years full time. Graduates work as administrative officers in ministries, local government councils, parastatals, schools, NGOs and private firms, and an HND opens higher civil service entry points.
Accreditation
NBTE accreditation of Public Administration at Marist is not confirmed; the school does not publish programme accreditation and the course is not on JAMB’s list. The B.Sc. Public Administration on Marist’s page names no partner university. A polytechnic cannot award a degree alone, so ask which university awards it before you consider it.
Mistakes Public Administration applicants make
- Picking a course from a school website: JAMB’s list decides what CAPS can admit you into.
- Writing Literature and CRS for a school without that remark: the IMT line is for IMT only.
- Relying on a Mathematics pass: the base rule asks for a credit; only some schools accept a pass.
- Paying before CAPS shows an offer: admission outside CAPS is not valid.
For the next UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and how to check your JAMB result.
Marist Poly Public Administration cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Can I study Public Administration without History? Yes, at schools with a remark that allows it, such as IMT Enugu or Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic. Check the remark for your chosen school on the JAMB brochure.
What course can I study at Marist instead of Public Administration? Business Administration and Management is on Marist’s JAMB list and was in its 2025/2026 advert. Use our JAMB change of course guide if you need to switch.
Sources and updates
Marist’s place on JAMB’s list comes from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB institution course list (Marist Polytechnic, six courses, checked 30 October 2026). The programme list, the five schools, the Apply Now link and the fees menu are from the official Marist Polytechnic website (home, admissions and courses pages, checked 30 October 2026; the admissions page was last modified on 31 August 2026). The 2025/2026 programme list comes from Marist’s notice “Admission for 2025/2026 Academic Session” (26 June 2025). NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists Marist as a private polytechnic (serial 85, P.M.B. 104 Emene, approved 2016). The 100 minimum, the 31 December 2026 deadline, the four-week CAPS window and the CAPS-only rule are from NAN, 11 May 2026; the 2025/2026 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). The UTME, O’level and remark details come from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure page for Public Administration (Administration category, checked 30 October 2026).
Checked on 30 October 2026. Marist had not published a 2026/2027 admission notice on its website. When it does, or when JAMB sets the 2027 minimum, this page will be updated.
