The Marist Poly Statistics cut-off mark is 100, JAMB’s minimum UTME score for polytechnics in 2026/2027. Marist Polytechnic, Emene has not published a departmental cut-off for Statistics in any year, so 100 is the official floor and anything above it is down to the school’s own screening.
2027/2028 update: Marist Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Statistics is an unusual case at Marist. It is on JAMB’s Marist course list, as Myschool reprints it, so you can choose it on your UTME registration. But it is missing from the school’s own Courses page and from its 2025/2026 admission advert. Whether Marist currently runs and admits into ND Statistics is unverified, so confirm with the admissions office before you register for it or pay anything.
This page gives the score position, my safe target, the subject combination (with a gap in JAMB’s online brochure explained), the admission steps and the alternatives.

Does Marist Polytechnic run Statistics?
The two lists do not match. JAMB’s Marist list has six courses; the school’s website shows nine ND courses. Statistics is the only course on JAMB’s list that the school’s own page leaves out.
| ND course | On JAMB’s Marist list (Myschool reprint) | On Marist’s own Courses page |
|---|---|---|
| Business Administration and Management | Yes | Yes |
| Computer Engineering | Yes | Yes |
| Computer Science | Yes | Yes |
| Electrical/Electronics Engineering (Technology) | Yes | Yes |
| Science Laboratory Technology | Yes | Yes |
| Statistics | Yes | No |
| Biomedical Engineering Technology | No | Yes |
| Estate Management | No | Yes |
| Nutrition and Dietetics | No | Yes |
| Public Administration and Management | No | Yes |
There are two likely readings. Marist may have had Statistics approved earlier and stopped advertising it, or the website may simply be incomplete. Neither is confirmed. What matters for you:
- You can select it: because it is on the JAMB list, Marist plus Statistics is a valid choice at registration, and Marist can recommend you for it on CAPS.
- The school may not admit into it: if Marist has no Statistics class for 2027/2028, it may offer you another course instead, which you would have to accept on CAPS.
- Ask before you register: email info@maristpolytechnic.edu.ng or visit the admissions office in Emene and ask whether ND Statistics will admit for 2027/2028.
Statistics cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (JAMB policy meeting, NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | Official (Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |

Safe target score for Statistics at Marist (my advice)
Marist publishes no merit lists or applicant numbers. This table is my advice.
| Your UTME score | My read for Statistics at Marist |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for full-time ND at any polytechnic |
| 100 to 129 | Eligible; Statistics is rarely oversubscribed at a private polytechnic |
| 130 to 159 | Comfortable for Marist, competitive at IMT and ESPOLY |
| 160 and above | Strong anywhere in Enugu for ND Statistics |
I would aim for 140 in the 2027 UTME. It covers Marist with room to spare and lets you switch to Statistics at IMT Enugu or Enugu State Polytechnic if Marist does not admit into the course.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Statistics at Marist
Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure page for Statistics loaded with empty UTME, O’level and Direct Entry sections on 30 October 2026, under every category we tried. So JAMB’s exact line, and any Marist remark, could not be checked. The best published guide is the Department of Statistics at Federal Polytechnic Offa, which follows the NBTE course:
| Requirement | Fed Poly Offa’s published rule (use as a guide) |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English and Mathematics, plus any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics/Commerce, Geography, Computer Science/ICT, Government/Civic Education, Biology/Agricultural Science |
| O’level | Credits (C6 or better) in English Language and Mathematics, at least one of Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/ICT, Biology, Agricultural Science and similar sciences, and two more from that list or Economics/Commerce, Geography, Government, Civic Education |
| Direct Entry | No ND direct entry rule published |
My safest pick is English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics, or Chemistry in place of Physics. That fits the Offa line and the other polytechnic Statistics lines we have seen. Confirm the exact combination on JAMB’s e-brochure when you register.
Worked example (illustrative)
Uchenna scored 141 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Geography. His WAEC has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Economics and Geography.
- Score: 141 is 41 above JAMB’s floor and inside my comfortable band for Marist.
- Subjects: Mathematics plus Economics and Geography fits the Offa pattern.
- O’level: English and Mathematics credits are there, and Physics gives him the science credit.
- The risk: whether Marist admits into Statistics at all; his result is fine. He should get the answer from the school before registering, and keep Statistics at IMT or ESPOLY in mind.
How to apply for Statistics at Marist, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: choose Marist Polytechnic and Statistics. JAMB lists the school as Marist Polytechnic (code MARISTPOLY on Myschool’s reprint).
- Clear the minimum: 100 is JAMB’s floor for polytechnics. Aim well above it (see the safe target above).
- Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre. A result that is not on CAPS cannot be used for your admission. Marist’s website also has a JAMB CBT centre link.
- Make Marist your choice: Marist’s 2025/2026 advert asked applicants who had not chosen it to make it first choice at a JAMB CBT centre. Our JAMB change of institution guide shows the steps.
- Apply on the Marist portal: the Apply Now button on the official admissions page goes to portal.maristpolytechnic.edu.ng. Marist has not published a form price or screening date for 2026/2027.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and accept or reject the offer. JAMB says candidates have four weeks to do this. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay the acceptance fee and register: Marist has not published its acceptance fee. Pay only through the portal or a channel the school confirms in writing, and keep every receipt.
Warning
Marist Polytechnic’s official contacts are on maristpolytechnic.edu.ng (info@maristpolytechnic.edu.ng). Do not pay anyone who offers to “process” your admission, and do not accept an admission letter that never shows up on JAMB CAPS. JAMB has said admissions done outside CAPS are illegal.
JAMB fixed 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education.
Studying Statistics at Marist
Marist Polytechnic is a private Catholic polytechnic run by the Marist Brothers at Umuchigbo Iji-Nike, Emene, Enugu State, approved in 2016 according to NBTE’s 2020 directory. Its courses page groups programmes into five schools, but Marist has not said which school Statistics belongs to.
What you study
Marist has not published a Statistics course outline. Fed Poly Offa’s ND list shows the NBTE pattern:
- Descriptive statistics, probability and statistical theory.
- Sampling theory and techniques, design of experiments and demography.
- Economic, social and industrial statistics, and biostatistics.
- Calculus, linear algebra, computer packages, data mining and data analytics.
- Research methods, entrepreneurship, SIWES and a final project.
The ND normally takes two years full time. Graduates work as statistical officers in government agencies and the National Bureau of Statistics, data assistants in banks, research firms and NGOs, and monitoring and evaluation officers. Marist does not list an HND in Statistics, so you would need another polytechnic for that step.
Accreditation
NBTE accreditation of Statistics at Marist is not confirmed. Marist does not publish programme accreditation, and its home page reported an NBTE resource inspection in September 2025 without naming programmes. Ask the admissions office to show you the current status before you pay.

Mistakes Statistics applicants make
- Leaving out Mathematics: every Statistics line needs it in both the UTME and O’level.
- Assuming the course is running: ask Marist before registering, since its own page does not list Statistics.
- Ignoring an alternative offer on CAPS: if Marist offers a different course, decide within JAMB’s four-week window.
- Paying before CAPS shows an offer: admission outside CAPS is not valid.
For the next UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and how to check your JAMB result.
Marist Poly Statistics cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
What is the cut-off mark for Statistics in Marist Polytechnic? JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100. Marist has not published a departmental figure; I would aim for 140.
Does Marist Polytechnic offer Statistics? Statistics is on JAMB’s Marist list, so you can choose it, but it is not on the school’s own Courses page or its 2025/2026 advert. Confirm with Marist that it will admit into the course.
What subjects do I need for Statistics in polytechnic? Use of English and Mathematics plus two others. Fed Poly Offa accepts subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Geography and Computer Studies; confirm the exact line on JAMB’s e-brochure.
Can I get admission into Statistics with 120? Yes, 120 clears JAMB’s 100 for polytechnics, and Statistics is not usually crowded at a private polytechnic. Your O’level and Marist’s screening decide the rest.
Sources and updates
Marist’s place on JAMB’s list comes from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB institution course list (Marist Polytechnic, six courses, checked 30 October 2026). The programme list, the five schools, the Apply Now link and the fees menu are from the official Marist Polytechnic website (home, admissions and courses pages, checked 30 October 2026; the admissions page was last modified on 31 August 2026). The 2025/2026 programme list comes from Marist’s notice “Admission for 2025/2026 Academic Session” (26 June 2025). NBTE’s 2020 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists Marist as a private polytechnic (serial 85, P.M.B. 104 Emene, approved 2016). The 100 minimum, the 31 December 2026 deadline, the four-week CAPS window and the CAPS-only rule are from NAN, 11 May 2026; the 2025/2026 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure page for Statistics (sciences-1 and engr-env-tech categories) loaded without requirements on 30 October 2026. The subject pattern and course outline are from the Department of Statistics, Federal Polytechnic Offa (checked 30 October 2026).
Checked on 30 October 2026. Marist had not published a 2026/2027 admission notice on its website. When it does, or when JAMB sets the 2027 minimum, this page will be updated.
