Maduka University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Maduka University accepts 150 in the UTME for Electrical and Electronics Engineering. See the JAMB course name, subjects, O’level, Direct Entry, fees and CAPS steps.

The Maduka University Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut off mark is 150 in the UTME. Maduka set 150 as the minimum for every programme in its 2026/2027 notice, reprinted by Myschool on 15 May 2026, which is the same as JAMB’s national minimum for universities. There is no separate published cut-off for Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).

2027/2028 update: Maduka University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

EEE is a B.Eng. in Maduka’s College of Engineering at Ekwegbe, on the Enugu to Nsukka road. It is on the university’s 2026 course list, and on Maduka’s JAMB course list it appears as “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”, so look for that name when you register. Its NUC and COREN accreditation could not be confirmed (details below). This page covers the official figures, a safe target score (my advice), subjects, Direct Entry, fees and the CAPS steps.

Maduka has used one minimum, 150, for every programme in both sessions it has advertised to UTME candidates so far. Its name is not on the list of institution cut-offs that News Central TV published after JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, and Maduka’s own website could not be reached when I checked, so the 150 comes through Myschool’s copy of the admission notice. Some blogs say Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Law “may require” more. None of them says that about engineering.

Safe target score for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka (my advice)

These bands are my judgement as an admissions adviser. Maduka has not published them.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka
Below 150Not eligible for Maduka this session
150 to 169Eligible, if your four UTME subjects and five O’level credits are right
170 to 199Comfortable, and safer if Maduka raises the bar for engineering later
200 and aboveStrong. It also keeps public options such as ESUT open as a backup

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 180. EEE is one of the most requested engineering courses in Nigeria, and although Maduka’s minimum is 150, a score around 200 lets you hold Maduka while keeping ESUT or another public university open, which matters if fees become a problem.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka

RequirementElectrical and Electronics Engineering (JAMB brochure, checked 30 October 2026)
UTME subjectsUse of English plus Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
Special remark for MadukaNone. Remarks name schools such as NTNU, OOU, UNIMAID, AFIT, UNILORIN and UNILAG
O’levelFive credits including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other science subject
Good fifth subjectFurther Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology or Agricultural Science
Maduka’s general rule (blogs)Five credits including English and Mathematics
SittingsNot stated by Maduka; one sitting is safest
Direct Entry (core)Two A’level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry

EEE uses the standard engineering set: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Some universities have a remark that lets candidates swap Chemistry for Biology or Agricultural Science, but Maduka is not one of them, so register Chemistry.

For the course name, Maduka’s JAMB list uses “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”, the same wording as the brochure entry. When you pick Maduka on the JAMB form, the course box only shows the courses Maduka has on JAMB, which is the quickest way to confirm the name yourself.

Direct Entry into Electrical and Electronics Engineering

JAMB’s core Direct Entry line for EEE is two A’level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. The remarks add ND and HND routes for many schools, for example ND or HND lower credit in Electrical/Electronics at COOU, or ND and HND plus the UTME requirements at ESUT. None of them names Maduka.

Maduka’s 2026/2027 notice, as reprinted by Myschool, invites UTME, Direct Entry and inter-university transfer applicants, and it also advertises a two-semester IJMB programme. Maduka has not published the level at which its own IJMB students or ND holders join engineering, so get that answer from Admissions before you pay. Direct Entry candidates still register with JAMB and are admitted through CAPS.

Does Maduka write Post-UTME for Electrical and Electronics Engineering?

No Maduka notice or report I found describes a Post-UTME test, a screening fee separate from the form, or an aggregate formula. What the reports describe is an online application: create a profile, upload your UTME and O’level results, pick a programme, pay for the form and print the slip. Maduka then decides on the file and sends the offer through JAMB CAPS. If the portal asks you to sit a test or attend an interview, follow it, because the university’s own instructions take priority over anything on this page.

Worked example (illustrative)

Maduka has not published an aggregate, so this example checks eligibility and the money needed before resumption. The fees are the 2026/2027 figures from Maduka’s fee list as reprinted by The Vent Republic.

  • Candidate: Chiamaka scored 168 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. She has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from two sittings.
  • Score check: 168 minus 150 = 18. She clears Maduka’s minimum by 18 marks.
  • UTME check: all four subjects match the brochure’s core line.
  • O’level check: the four named subjects are there, and Biology counts as the other science.
  • Money before resumption (2026/2027 figures): ₦5,000 form + ₦50,000 acceptance + ₦900,000 session fee = ₦955,000.

Her two sittings are the only open question, because Maduka has not said whether it accepts a combined result for engineering. Most Nigerian universities do, but she should confirm before paying. Emeka, by contrast, has 205 and a D7 in Mathematics. No score makes up for a missing Mathematics credit; he should resit WAEC or NECO before the next admission round.

For 2026/2027, Maduka’s fee list as reprinted by The Vent Republic puts Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with the other Computing and Engineering programmes, at ₦900,000 a session, up from the ₦690,000 AndroidPols reported for 2025/2026. The same list gives Medicine and Surgery at ₦4,210,000, which matches Myschool’s copy of the notice. You can pay in two instalments of 60% and 40%. Confirm the figure with the Bursary before you pay, because the 2027/2028 fee may be higher.

For timing, JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, a group that includes Maduka, at its policy meeting of 11 May 2026 (reported by the News Agency of Nigeria). The 2027/2028 dates will come from JAMB’s next policy meeting. Private universities fill places on a rolling basis, so apply as soon as the portal opens.

Your chances of getting Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka

Maduka does not publish applicant numbers or admissions per course. Based on how private universities in the South East usually fill engineering places, a candidate with 150 or more, the right UTME subjects, five O’level credits and the means to pay normally stands a fair chance. That is my reading of the market, not a Maduka statistic.

EEE shares its UTME subjects with Mechatronics, Mechanical, Civil and Computer Engineering at Maduka, so if the department fills up, a change of course on CAPS within engineering keeps you at the same university without changing subjects. Computer Engineering is the one to check first, because its O’level line adds Further Mathematics.

How to apply for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register Maduka and the right course: pick Maduka University and the course listed as “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”, with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. If you picked another school as first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before Maduka can offer you a place, and use a JAMB change of course if you registered the wrong course.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: any accredited JAMB CBT centre can do it. Check that the upload shows credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and your fifth science.
  4. Fill Maduka’s online application: on madukauniversity.edu.ng, create a profile, enter your UTME details, upload your O’level, choose the programme, pay the form fee (reported as ₦5,000) and print the slip. These steps are as reported by AndroidPols; follow the portal if it differs.
  5. Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept only an offer that shows Maduka University and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  6. Pay acceptance and the first fees: the acceptance fee is reported as ₦50,000 and is not refundable. Pay only through the channel on Maduka’s portal and keep every receipt.
  7. Clear at Ekwegbe: bring your O’level result, JAMB result slip and admission letter, birth certificate, local government identification, NIN slip, passport photographs and payment receipts. Maduka has not published its own list, so take originals and photocopies of all of them.

Warning

Every genuine Maduka admission shows up on your JAMB CAPS page. JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal, so anyone selling a “direct” Maduka slot or an admission letter for money is not acting for the university. Pay fees only through the channel on madukauniversity.edu.ng.

Studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka University

Electrical and Electronics Engineering sits in Maduka’s College of Engineering with Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Computer Engineering (Teezab, July 2026). Maduka has not published the duration; a B.Eng. in Nigeria normally takes five years for UTME entrants. Maduka is a private university founded by Dr Samuel Maduka Onyishi and licensed by NUC in 2023; its first session began on 23 November 2023.

I found no NUC accreditation result and no COREN accreditation record for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka. NUC’s accreditation exercise of October to December 2025 covered seven Maduka programmes (Accounting, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Economics and International Relations), and all seven got full accreditation, according to a university press release carried by Premium Times and AllAfrica on 29 July 2026. No engineering course was on that list. For background, NUC let Maduka begin teaching in 2023, Nairametrics reported that NUC recognised 19 programmes at its October 2023 visit, and the engineering courses have been on Maduka’s lists since then. Programmes are normally accredited once students reach the later years, and Maduka’s first students only started in November 2023. Still, treat the status as not confirmed and ask Admissions for it in writing before you pay.

What you study

  • First years: engineering mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering drawing, workshop practice and programming.
  • Circuits and electronics: circuit theory, analogue and digital electronics, measurements and instrumentation.
  • Power: electrical machines, power systems, generation, transmission and distribution, protection.
  • Communication: signals and systems, telecommunication and electromagnetic fields.
  • Control and computing: control engineering, microprocessors and power electronics.
  • Later years: SIWES industrial training and a final-year design project.

Careers

EEE graduates work with electricity generation and distribution companies, telecoms operators, renewable energy and solar installers, manufacturing plants, oil and gas firms, and electrical design and consulting. Many of these roles later need COREN registration, so the programme’s accreditation status is worth checking now.

Chemistry and Physics carry most of the weight in your UTME, so work through our JAMB Chemistry syllabus for 2027 early. If you are sitting the exam again, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and how to check your JAMB result.

Mistakes that cost Electrical and Electronics Engineering applicants a Maduka place

  • Biology in place of Chemistry: Maduka has no remark allowing it.
  • Looking for the wrong course name: on JAMB it is “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”.
  • A pass in Mathematics or Physics: both must be credits.
  • Maduka not first choice: fix it with a JAMB change of institution.
  • Not asking about accreditation: get the NUC status in writing before paying acceptance.

Maduka University Electrical and Electronics Engineering cut-off mark: FAQs

What is the cut off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka University?

150, Maduka’s 2026/2027 minimum for all programmes and the same as JAMB’s national minimum. Maduka has not published a higher figure for EEE.

Is Biology accepted instead of Chemistry for EEE at Maduka University?

No published rule allows it. JAMB’s core line is Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and the remarks that allow Biology name other universities, not Maduka.

Can I enter Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka with an ND?

JAMB’s core Direct Entry line asks for A’level passes, and no ND remark names Maduka. Ask Admissions whether it takes ND holders and at what level before you register for Direct Entry.

Is Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Maduka University COREN accredited?

Not confirmed. I found no COREN record, and EEE was not among the seven Maduka programmes given full NUC accreditation after the 2025 exercise.

Sources and updates

The 150 minimum for 2026/2027, the routes (UTME, Direct Entry, transfer), the IJMB programme, the statement that approved fees cover tuition and accommodation, and the ₦4,210,000 Medicine fee come from Maduka’s Post-UTME/DE notice as reprinted by Myschool on 15 May 2026; ABS TechConnect (24 May 2026) also reports 150 and the ₦5,000 form. The 2026/2027 session fee of ₦900,000 for Computing and Engineering programmes, the ₦50,000 acceptance fee and the 60/40 instalment plan come from Maduka’s fee list as reprinted by The Vent Republic on 14 May 2026. The 2025/2026 minimum, the 2025/2026 fee of ₦690,000 (given for comparison), feeding and the application steps come from AndroidPols (16 November 2025). Maduka’s current course list, with Electrical and Electronics Engineering under its College of Engineering, comes from Teezab (16 July 2026), and the course name “Electrical / Electronics Engineering” from the Maduka list on universitycourses.ng (updated March 2026); Maduka’s own website and its course list on Myschool could not be opened, so confirm the name on your JAMB profile. The UTME, O’level and Direct Entry lines come from JAMB’s brochure entry for Electrical and Electronics Engineering as reprinted by Myschool (checked 30 October 2026), which carries no remark for Maduka. The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities come from JAMB’s policy meeting of 11 May 2026, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria. The seven programmes with full NUC accreditation come from a Maduka press release carried by Premium Times and AllAfrica (29 July 2026); NUC’s take-off visit is from Nairametrics and TheCable (20 July 2024). I found no NUC report page or COREN record for engineering at Maduka. Safe target scores, the odds discussion and the worked example are my advice, not Maduka figures. This page will be updated when Maduka publishes its 2027/2028 notice, a departmental cut-off, a new fee list or an accreditation result for Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
