Peaceland University Cut-Off Mark for Medical Laboratory Science 2027/2028: Requirements, Subject Combination and Screening

Peaceland University’s cut-off mark for Medical Laboratory Science is JAMB’s 150 minimum. See the subjects, O’level rules, screening, MLSCN approval question and alternatives in Enugu.

The Peaceland University cut-off mark for Medical Laboratory Science is 150 in the UTME, JAMB’s national minimum for universities in 2026/2027. Peaceland University, Enugu, has not published its own minimum or a departmental cut-off for Medical Laboratory Science, so 150 is the official figure to plan with.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Medical Laboratory Science is on Peaceland’s JAMB course list and in its 2026/2027 advert as B.MLS in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. What I could not confirm is approval by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), which a graduate needs for induction and a licence. Below are the subjects, a safe target score, screening, the approval question and alternatives in Enugu.

Is Medical Laboratory Science on Peaceland’s JAMB list?

Yes. Myschool’s copy of Peaceland University’s JAMB course list includes Medical Laboratory Science among 30 courses, and the 2026/2027 advert lists B.MLS Medical Laboratory Science in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, alongside Nursing Science, Public Health, Physiotherapy (DPT), Environmental Health Sciences, Health Information Management, Community Health and Radiography. Register the course under Peaceland University, not Peaceland College of Education, which is a separate institution on JAMB’s list.

MLSCN approval and NUC accreditation

Two bodies matter for a B.MLS degree. The NUC accredits the academic programme, and the MLSCN approves the training and inducts graduates so they can register and practise. I checked both:

  • MLSCN: I found no MLSCN list, notice or news report naming Peaceland University as an approved B.MLS school. The council does not publish a list I could open, so this is not confirmed either way.
  • NUC: Peaceland announced full NUC accreditation for Medical Laboratory Science after NUC’s October/November 2025 exercise. Its news post of 1 May 2026 names the programme, and it is on the list of 17 reported by Uniblog NG on 23 April 2026. I found no NUC report page for it, so the status rests on the university’s announcement.

NUC accreditation does not replace MLSCN approval, so ask to see the council’s approval before you pay: ask for the MLSCN approval letter for the B.MLS programme and the quota the council allowed, and keep the reply.

Before you pay

Ask Peaceland University in writing for the MLSCN approval of its B.MLS programme. A medical laboratory degree from a programme the MLSCN has not approved can leave graduates unable to be inducted or licensed.

Peaceland has no published history of cut-off marks yet. Be careful with blog figures for “Peaceland”: many of them are about the college of education, whose NCE candidates no longer sit the UTME.

Safe target score for MLS at Peaceland (my advice)

This is my judgement, not a Peaceland rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read
Below 150Not eligible for a university degree this year
150 to 179Eligible at Peaceland; confirm MLSCN approval before accepting
180 to 209Competitive at private universities with approved MLS programmes
210 and aboveStrong enough to try MLS at state universities in Enugu

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 200, with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Compare that with the published figures in our ESUT Medical Laboratory Science cut-off mark guide.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Peaceland MLS

RequirementMedical Laboratory Science (JAMB brochure)
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
Direct EntryA Level passes including Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology
Peaceland remark in the brochureNone found

All five O’level subjects are named, so a pass (D7 or E8) in any of them rules you out. JAMB’s brochure page has no Peaceland remark, which means the general rule applies. One sitting is not required by the general rule, but some universities ask for it, so a single-sitting result is the safer file.

How Peaceland screens MLS applicants

Peaceland has not published a Post-UTME test, screening dates, or an aggregate formula for Medical Laboratory Science in any source I could reach. The 2026/2027 advert, as summarised by Myschool, announced that the admission portal was open and listed the programmes, without the screening details. Expect an online application on the university portal, a check of your UTME result and O’level, and possibly an interview, followed by an offer on JAMB CAPS.

Because the screening details have not been published, ask the admissions office two things before you pay the ₦20,000 form fee: whether there is a written test or interview, and when the 2027/2028 portal closes. Keep the answers in writing.

Worked example

No aggregate has been published, so this example only measures the gap to 150 and to my 200 target. It is an illustration.

  1. Somto, 214: 214 minus 150 = 64 above the minimum and 14 above my target. With credits in all five subjects, she can choose; I would steer her toward a programme with confirmed MLSCN approval.
  2. Ebuka, 168: eligible at Peaceland, 32 below my target. He should get the approval letter before accepting.
  3. Chisom, 190 with a D7 in Physics: her score is fine, but the O’level rule needs a Physics credit. She should resit Physics, or look at Peaceland University Microbiology cut-off mark if its rules fit her result.

How to apply for Medical Laboratory Science at Peaceland University

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN, then register at an accredited CBT centre.
  2. Register the right course: choose Medical Laboratory Science under Peaceland University with Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Peaceland University and Peaceland College of Education are separate institutions on JAMB’s list, so check the name. If you chose another school, use JAMB change of institution.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited centre, upload every sitting you want counted.
  4. Apply on Peaceland’s portal: the advert points applicants to the university’s online portal (apply.peacelanduni.edu.ng, “Enroll Now”). Fill in your details, upload documents and pay only the fee shown there.
  5. Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer there. Admission outside CAPS is not valid.
  6. Pay acceptance and clear: Peaceland’s fee schedule lists acceptance at ₦20,000 and a total of ₦815,000 a session at 100, 200 and 300 level, with tuition payable 60% and then 40%. Pay only through the official portal or the Admissions Office, then print your JAMB admission letter for clearance.

JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). Public universities had until 31 October 2026. If you applied to Peaceland for 2026/2027, keep checking CAPS until the end of November. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.

Studying Medical Laboratory Science at Peaceland University

Peaceland University is a private university in Enugu, founded in 2023. It grew out of Peaceland College of Education, Enugu, which still runs separately and admits its own NCE students, so do not mix up the two. The advert gives the address as No. 1 Old Path Close, Independence Layout, by MSP bus stop, Enugu, and Wikipedia names the Vice-Chancellor as Professor Leonard Chidi Ilechukwu. On 28 April 2026, Myschool reported that the university had opened its admission portal for the 2026/2027 session across its faculties.

The degree is the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS) in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. In Nigeria a B.MLS usually runs for five years, including a period of internship training in an approved laboratory. Peaceland has not published its own duration or course outline.

What you study

  • Early years: basic sciences, human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
  • Core laboratory disciplines: medical microbiology, chemical pathology, haematology and blood transfusion science, histopathology, and immunology.
  • Practice: laboratory management, quality control, and a supervised attachment in an MLSCN-approved laboratory.
  • After graduation: MLSCN induction and registration, then internship and work as a medical laboratory scientist.

Careers

Medical laboratory scientists work in hospital and private diagnostic laboratories, blood banks, public health and disease surveillance programmes, research institutes, and pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies. All of these need MLSCN registration.

Mistakes that cost MLS applicants

  • Not checking MLSCN approval: licensing depends on it.
  • Registering the wrong Peaceland: the college of education is a separate JAMB institution.
  • A pass in Physics or Mathematics: the O’level rule needs credits in all five subjects.
  • O’level not on CAPS: the university cannot recommend you without it.
  • Paying before accepting on CAPS: accept the offer on CAPS first.

Sources and updates

The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 private-university deadline are from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 11 May 2026 policy meeting, and News Central’s list of institution cut-offs from that meeting has no Peaceland entry. The 2026/2027 programme list is from Myschool’s summary of Peaceland’s advert (28 April 2026), and the JAMB course names are from Myschool’s copy of Peaceland University’s JAMB course list. School background is from the advert and Wikipedia. UTME, O’level and DE rules are from JAMB’s brochure entry for Medical Laboratory Science as reprinted by Myschool (no Peaceland remark). The MLSCN check covered news reports and council material I could find; no list naming Peaceland was available. The fees are from Peaceland’s schedule of fees, read on 30 October 2026 (the page does not state the session). Full NUC accreditation for Medical Laboratory Science is from Peaceland’s announcement after NUC’s October/November 2025 exercise: the university’s news post of 1 May 2026 names Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Accountancy “and several others”, and Uniblog NG printed the full list of 17 programmes on 23 April 2026.
