The FUAHSE Software Engineering cut off mark is 200 in the UTME. The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) listed Software Engineering at 200 on its official 2026/2027 UTME admission cut-off list, in the Faculty of Health Engineering and Technology.
2027/2028 update: FUAHSE cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Software Engineering is new at FUAHSE. It was not among the 16 courses the university advertised for 2025/2026, and 2026/2027 is the first session it appears on an official admission list. Two things you would normally find for a course are still missing: FUAHSE has not said whether the degree is a B.Sc. or a B.Eng., and I could not confirm how the course appears on JAMB’s list for FUAHSE. Read those notes before you register. Below are the figures, the score I would aim for, subjects, screening, CAPS steps and what is known about approval.
FUAHSE Software Engineering cut off mark at a glance
| Item | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| FUAHSE cut-off for Software Engineering | 200 | Official (FUAHSE e-portal, 2026/2027 list) |

| NUC approval | Named by the Vice-Chancellor among newly approved programmes | The Sun, 9 May 2026 |
| Screening window 2026/2027 | 8 June to 19 August 2026 | Closed |
FUAHSE Software Engineering cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 200 | Software Engineering admission cut-off | Official FUAHSE e-portal |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | Minimum UTME score to fill the screening form | Myschool report of the 2026/2027 exercise |
| 2025/2026 | None | Software Engineering was not among the 16 courses FUAHSE advertised | Studentship reprint, 18 July 2025 |
There is only one year of data because the course is new. Expect 200 to hold for 2027/2028 unless FUAHSE says otherwise. Software Engineering is popular wherever it opens, so if anything moves, I would expect demand to push it up rather than down.
All FUAHSE cut-off marks for 2026/2027
| 2026/2027 cut-off | FUAHSE courses (names as on the e-portal) |
|---|---|
| 260 | Nursing Science |
| 240 | Radiography |
| 230 | Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy |
| 200 | Public Health, Dental Technology, Dental Therapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical and Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Social Work, Biotechnology, Alternative and Complementary Medicine |
| 180 | Health Care Management, Occupational Therapy, Parasitology and Entomology, Water Hygiene and Sanitation |
| 170 | Speech Therapy, Community Health, Health Information |
| 150 | Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology |
Every course in the engineering faculty sits at 200: Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering. If computing is your goal, Artificial Intelligence is the closest alternative on the same mark. Health Information (170) is the nearest data-related course below 200.
Safe target score for Software Engineering at FUAHSE (my advice)
FUAHSE does not publish the lowest admitted score, and with a first intake there is nothing to look back on. This is my judgement.
| Your UTME score | My read for FUAHSE Software Engineering |
|---|---|
| Below 200 | Not eligible; Health Information (170) is the nearest data-related option |
| 200 to 214 | Eligible, but exposed |
| 215 to 229 | Competitive with good Mathematics and Physics |
| 230 and above | Strong |
I would aim for at least 220, ideally 230. Software Engineering draws large numbers of candidates at every Nigerian university that offers it, and a first intake usually has a small quota. In Enugu, ESUT also set 200 for its own new Software Engineering degree in 2026/2027, so the two schools will compete for many of the same candidates.
Catchment and quota
FUAHSE has not published a catchment list or a quota for the course. Plan on merit.
Software Engineering subject combination and O’level at FUAHSE
| Requirement | Software Engineering |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (JAMB general entry) | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography |
| UTME subjects I recommend | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry |
| O’level (JAMB general entry) | Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other science subjects |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (FUAHSE has not published a different list) |
| Direct Entry (JAMB general entry) | Two A’level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other subject |
| Direct Entry (FUAHSE 2026/2027 notice) | ND, HND or first degree plus relevant O’level credits |
These come from JAMB’s brochure entry for Software Engineering (Myschool reprint, checked 30 October 2026). The entry has remarks for FUTA, AUN, FUTO, Bowen, BUK and Al-Hikmah, but none for FUAHSE. Chemistry is my pick for the fourth subject because it is accepted by every university with a remark, including FUTA, which insists on it. If FUAHSE turns out to award a B.Eng., Chemistry also matches what engineering faculties usually require, so you are covered either way.
Course name to pick on JAMB: JAMB’s brochure lists this course as Software Engineering, and FUAHSE’s cut-off page calls it Software Engineering. I could not open JAMB’s own list of FUAHSE courses (the Myschool reprint would not load for me), so I can’t confirm exactly how the course appears under FUAHSE. FUAHSE’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME form took JAMB registration numbers and the course is on its official cut-off list, which tells you admission runs through JAMB. At registration, ask the centre to show FUAHSE’s course options on screen and pick the matching one. Don’t settle for a similar-looking course at another school.
Because the course is new, check the JAMB list again when 2027 registration opens. If Software Engineering does not appear under FUAHSE on JAMB’s portal at that point, don’t pick a look-alike course just to keep FUAHSE: choose Software Engineering at a university where it is listed, such as ESUT, or pick another FUAHSE course you actually want.

Worked example for a Software Engineering candidate
Without a published aggregate formula, the honest check is your margin above 200 and my target.
Uchenna scored 226 with B3 in English, A1 in Mathematics, B2 in Physics, B3 in Chemistry and C4 in Biology from one sitting. His UTME subjects were English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
- Eligibility: 226 minus 200 = 26 above the cut-off.
- Against my safe target: 226 is in the competitive band, four marks short of strong.
- O’level check: English, Mathematics, Physics and two more sciences, all credits in one sitting.
- My advice: keep Software Engineering. If FUAHSE offers Artificial Intelligence on CAPS instead, it is a reasonable second choice in the same faculty.
Blessing scored 203 with Economics as her fourth UTME subject. She clears 200 and JAMB’s general rule allows Economics, but if FUAHSE awards a B.Eng. it could ask for Chemistry.
How to apply for Software Engineering at FUAHSE, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: choose FUAHSE and Software Engineering, with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. If FUAHSE was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before its screening form opens.
- Upload your O’level on CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre, early. Universities read your grades from CAPS.
- Fill the FUAHSE screening form: go to eportal.fuahse.edu.ng and open the Post-UTME application form for the session. UTME candidates enter their JAMB registration number; Direct Entry candidates start with a phone number. Blogs reported a fee of ₦2,000 for 2026/2027; the portal invoice is what counts.
- Print your slip and watch for updates: FUAHSE has not published whether it holds a test, so keep checking the portal and the official admissions page after you submit.
- Check your status: use FUAHSE’s admission status page and JAMB CAPS. An offer is only real once it appears on CAPS.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. JAMB gives candidates four weeks to accept or reject an offer.
- Pay acceptance and clear: FUAHSE has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the FUAHSE e-portal, and keep every receipt for clearance.
Warning
FUAHSE’s admissions page warns that fake admission information about the university is circulating on Facebook. Its official channels are fuahse.edu.ng/admissions and the e-portal at eportal.fuahse.edu.ng, and every genuine offer also shows on JAMB CAPS. Nobody can sell you a place, so don’t pay anyone who promises one.
FUAHSE is a federal university, so its 2026/2027 admissions fall under the window JAMB set for public universities, which ended on 31 October 2026 (News Agency of Nigeria, 11 May 2026). That date has now passed. I found no report of when FUAHSE uploaded its 2026/2027 list. If you applied this year, check CAPS and FUAHSE’s status page, and read our JAMB CAPS guide to understand each status.
Studying Software Engineering at FUAHSE
Software Engineering is one of six departments in the Faculty of Health Engineering and Technology. FUAHSE has not published the degree name, duration or curriculum. A B.Sc. in Software Engineering usually runs for four years in Nigeria and a B.Eng. for five, so the degree name also tells you how long you will study.
Is FUAHSE Software Engineering approved?
- March 2024: the Federal Government approved the upgrade of the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Trans-Ekulu, into FUAHSE.
- October 2024: an NUC team began checking 18 of the 22 programmes FUAHSE’s Senate had approved for take-off in 2024/2025, using NUC’s Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards as the yardstick (The Sun, 31 October 2024).
- December 2024: FUAHSE announced NUC approval for its first 16 degree programmes (Journalist101 and Vanguard, 19 December 2024). Software Engineering was not one of them, and it was not in the 2025/2026 intake either.
- May 2026: the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Emaimo, said NUC approval now covered 27 programmes: the original 16 plus 11 newer ones, naming Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering among them. He spoke ahead of the university’s second matriculation (The Sun, 9 May 2026).
Software Engineering is one of the programmes the Vice-Chancellor named as NUC approved in May 2026. Accreditation is a later NUC visit, and there is no result yet for a course whose first students entered in 2026/2027.
Professional registration depends on the degree. Computing graduates register with the Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria), CPN. If FUAHSE awards a B.Eng., COREN accreditation becomes relevant too. I found no CPN or COREN record for FUAHSE’s programme, which fits how new it is. Ask the department which degree you will get and which body it is working with.
What you study
FUAHSE hasn’t published its curriculum. Software Engineering degrees in Nigeria generally cover the following, and FUAHSE’s place in a health sciences university may add health-specific options:
- Foundations: mathematics, discrete structures, physics and an introduction to programming.
- Core software skills: data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases and operating systems.
- Engineering practice: requirements analysis, software design, testing, version control and project management.
- Systems: web and mobile development, networks, security and cloud services.
- Projects and industrial training: team projects, a final-year project and a SIWES placement.
Careers
Graduates work as software developers, QA engineers, mobile and web developers, DevOps engineers and product engineers, in Nigeria or remotely for foreign companies. A graduate from a health-focused university has an angle others lack: hospital information systems, telemedicine and health data are areas where Nigeria needs people who understand both code and clinics.

Mistakes that cost Software Engineering applicants a FUAHSE place
- Treating 150 as enough: Software Engineering needs 200.
- Choosing a fourth subject only one rule accepts: Chemistry keeps you safe whether the degree is B.Sc. or B.Eng.
- Registering a similar course to stay at FUAHSE: if the course isn’t on JAMB’s list for FUAHSE, choose it elsewhere.
- Assuming a health university can’t do computing: the department is listed, but ask about the degree name and labs.
- Paying agents: FUAHSE warns that fake admission information circulates on Facebook.
If FUAHSE wasn’t your first choice, read how to change institution on JAMB.
FUAHSE Software Engineering cut off mark: frequently asked questions
Is Software Engineering at FUAHSE a B.Sc. or B.Eng.? FUAHSE has not published the degree name. The course sits in its Faculty of Health Engineering and Technology, so ask the department before you accept.
Can I study Software Engineering at FUAHSE without Chemistry? JAMB’s general entry accepts Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography as the fourth subject, but FUAHSE has not confirmed its own rule. Chemistry is the safest choice.
Is 210 good for Software Engineering at FUAHSE? It clears the 200 cut-off. I would call 215 to 229 competitive and 230 or more strong, because the course is popular and the first quota is likely small.
Is FUAHSE Software Engineering approved by the NUC? The Vice-Chancellor named Software Engineering among the newer NUC-approved programmes in May 2026. Accreditation comes later, once students reach the upper years.
