FCE Eha-Amufu has no UTME cut-off mark for Agricultural Science Education (NCE) under the current rules. Since the policy meeting of 11 May 2026, NCE candidates with at least four O’level credit passes do not sit the UTME. You register with JAMB through its special NCE registration, Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu recommends you, and JAMB confirms the offer on CAPS. The last numeric minimum was 100, JAMB’s national figure for colleges of education in 2025/2026, and the college has never published a separate figure for Agricultural Science.
2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the details on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notices (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.
Agricultural Science is reported as a double major at Eha-Amufu, so you study it on its own rather than paired with a second teaching subject. Expect a good deal of practical work on the school farm alongside classroom courses. Below are the O’level credits I would want, the JAMB NCE steps and fees, how the college selects, a worked example and the careers it opens.

Agricultural Science cut-off mark history at FCE Eha-Amufu
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | No UTME score required | UTME exemption for NCE candidates with at least four O’level credits; JAMB registration and CAPS still apply | Official national policy (11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum UTME score for colleges of education | Official national figure (JAMB, July 2025) |
| 2021/2022 | 100 | Minimum UTME score in the college’s NCE screening advert | College advert as reprinted by Myschool (October 2021) |
| Older years (blogs) | 100, or “110 and above” | Figures blogs print for the whole college | Unofficial; not tied to any college notice |
None of these is an Agricultural Science figure. They applied to every NCE course at the college. A page that tells you the “FCE Eha-Amufu cut-off mark for Agricultural Science” is 100 or 110 for the current session is repeating a college-wide number from the years when NCE still went through the UTME. Today the deciding factor is your O’level result and the college’s own selection, and the college has not said how many Agricultural Science places it has.
O’level requirements for Agricultural Science Education (NCE)
The national floor is four O’level credit passes. FCE Eha-Amufu’s own advert, as reprinted by o3schools in January 2026 (I could not reach it on a college page), asks for four credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, with two of the credits relevant to your chosen course. WAEC, NECO and GCE results are accepted. The same reprint also lists a Grade II Teacher’s Certificate with credit or merit in four subjects as an alternative.
The blog reprint of the college’s advert also lists technical and vocational certificates, such as RSA or City and Guilds Intermediate and the Federal Craft Training Certificate with four credits or merits, for vocational and technical courses. Agricultural Science sits in the vocational and technical group at most colleges of education, but Eha-Amufu’s own grouping is not confirmed, so ask the college before relying on one of these.
| Subject | Why it matters for Agric (my advice) |
|---|---|
| English Language | Compulsory in the college’s advert |
| Mathematics | Compulsory in the college’s advert |
| Agricultural Science | The most relevant credit; I would treat it as essential |
| Biology | The second relevant credit for most candidates |
| Chemistry | Helps with soil science and animal nutrition, and needed later for a degree |
| Physics, Geography or Economics | Useful extras if you lack Chemistry |
Four credits in English, Mathematics, Agricultural Science and Biology meet the advert. JAMB’s brochure entry for a university degree in agriculture and education asks for Chemistry as well, so if you plan to top up to a degree later, get a Chemistry credit now.
Safe target in place of a cut-off
This is consultant advice, not a college rule.
| Your O’level | My read for Agric at Eha-Amufu |
|---|---|
| Fewer than four credits, or English or Mathematics missing | Not eligible this year; resit or ask about Pre-NCE |
| English, Mathematics, Agric and one other credit | Eligible |
| English, Mathematics, Agric, Biology and Chemistry, one sitting | Solid |
| Agric at B3 or better, plus Biology and Chemistry credits, one sitting | Strong; this is what I would aim for |
UTME subjects, if you write the UTME anyway
The UTME is not needed for NCE. For a university option, JAMB’s brochure entry for Agricultural Science and Education (Myschool reprint) lists any three of Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Physics, Economics, Geography and Mathematics, with five O’level credits in English, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics and one other relevant subject. Use of English is compulsory. Confirm on the current JAMB e-brochure.
A side note on the 2026 policy: the UTME exemption also covers some non-technology agricultural ND courses at polytechnics. That route is separate from the NCE and leads to a different certificate.
Direct Entry
There is no Direct Entry into the NCE itself. JAMB’s June 2026 guideline also stopped admission at 100 or 200 level into any college of education except through the NCE, and ended admissions into affiliated degree programmes in colleges of education. That includes Eha-Amufu’s UNN-affiliated B.Ed. After the NCE, Direct Entry works in your favour: you can use the certificate to apply for a degree at a university.
How to apply for Agricultural Science at FCE Eha-Amufu
These steps follow JAMB’s 2026/2027 special registration flow for NCE and ND. FCE Eha-Amufu has a JAMB registration centre (IPRC) on campus, so you can register there or at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre.
- Get an O’level verification code: buy it from your exam body’s verification site. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two, and the two sittings can be from different exam bodies (WAEC and NECO, for example).
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Create or open your e-Facility account: use the profile code at efacility.jamb.gov.ng if you do not already have a JAMB profile.
- Register for NCE at a CBT centre, PRC or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, present your verification code, choose your NCE course (Agricultural Science (Double Major)) and pick three colleges of education. Put Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as your first choice, because your registration goes to your first-choice college. If you already registered for another school, read our JAMB change of institution guide.
- Upload your O’level results: the centre uploads them and captures your photograph and fingerprints. If your results are not out, mark Awaiting Results and upload them as soon as they are released. The college cannot recommend you until they are uploaded.
- Do the college’s own screening if it calls for one: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its 2026/2027 screening notice in any source I could reach. Watch the college’s announcements and pay any form fee only through an invoice from the college portal.
- College recommends you on CAPS: the Admission Officer proposes you and the Provost recommends you to JAMB’s CAPS, which then checks your O’level against the exam body’s records.
- Accept the offer on CAPS and print your admission letter: log in to e-Facility, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept quickly, because JAMB withdraws offers not accepted within four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and school charges, then clear: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its acceptance fee officially. One blog quotes ₦5,000 through Remita; treat that as unconfirmed and pay only after generating an invoice on the college’s own portal.
JAMB fees for NCE registration
| What you pay | Amount | Paid where |
|---|---|---|
| O’level verification code (one sitting) | ₦1,500 | Exam body’s verification site |
| O’level verification code (two sittings) | ₦2,000 | Either exam body’s platform |
| JAMB NCE application fee (new applicants) | ₦3,500 | JAMB portal, at a CBT centre or the college’s IPRC |
| CBT/IPRC registration charge | ₦700 | Same centre |
| 2026 UTME candidates moved to NCE | ₦700 only (no ₦3,500) | Same centre |
JAMB processes you for one mode of entry at a time. Once a college recommends you for NCE, any UTME or Direct Entry process you have running is suspended. Candidates who sat the 2026 UTME with a college of education as first choice were moved to the NCE process and only paid the ₦700 charge.
Warning
Every genuine FCE Eha-Amufu admission shows on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. Do not pay anyone who promises an NCE place. Pay JAMB fees on the JAMB portal at a registration centre, and college fees only through an invoice from the college’s own portal. If the college has not confirmed that your combination is running this session, ask before you pay.
The college’s screening
JAMB’s flow leaves the choice of candidates to the college. FCE Eha-Amufu has not published how it screens for 2026/2027. Blog reprints of earlier notices describe an online form: create a profile on the college portal, generate a Remita invoice and pay at a bank, upload a passport photograph, enter your JAMB, O’level and birth certificate details, then print the acknowledgement. The adverts also say candidates must pass the college’s selection process. The 2021/2022 advert put the form at ₦2,000; no current fee, date or test format has been published. Blogs name fceehaamufu.com and fceehaamufu.edu.ng as the college’s sites, and I could not confirm either.
Worked example
There is no published formula, so this only shows how the published rules apply. The candidates are invented.
Obinna wants Agricultural Science. His NECO 2026: English C6, Mathematics C5, Agricultural Science B2, Biology C4, Chemistry C6, Economics C5, Geography D7.
- Credits: English, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry and Economics. Six credits.
- English and Mathematics: both credits.
- Relevant subjects: Agricultural Science (B2) and Biology (C4), with Chemistry as a bonus.
- Sittings: one.
- JAMB-side cost: ₦1,500 verification (one sitting) + ₦3,500 + ₦700 = ₦5,700, before any college form.
- My verdict: a strong application, and his Chemistry credit keeps a later degree open.
Adaeze has English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry from WAEC 2025 and Agricultural Science from NECO 2026. That is two sittings from different exam bodies, which the college’s advert allows. Her verification code costs ₦2,000 instead of ₦1,500.
Admission chances and advice
- Have an Agric credit: it is the clearest sign you belong in the course.
- Fix Mathematics first: compulsory in the advert for every course.
- Register early: the college can only recommend candidates whose registration and O’level have reached it.
- Use your other two choices: pick two more colleges of education that run Agricultural Science.
- Check CAPS often: an offer not accepted within four weeks is withdrawn.
Studying Agricultural Science Education at FCE Eha-Amufu
NCE Agricultural Science trains you to teach agriculture in primary and secondary schools and to run a school farm. The regular NCE runs for three years. The outline below follows the usual NCE pattern; the college’s handbook was not available.
What you study
- Crop production: field crops, vegetables, plant protection and soil fertility.
- Animal production: poultry, livestock and fish farming, feeding and health.
- Soil science: soil types, testing and management.
- Agricultural economics and extension: farm records, marketing and teaching farmers.
- Farm mechanisation: tools and machines and their care.
- Practicals and teaching: school farm work, methods of teaching Agricultural Science, then supervised teaching practice, plus education and general studies courses.
Accreditation and status
The NCCE list of accredited colleges (checked 29 October 2026) shows Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu (Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State) as a federal college of education with status “open”. The list does not show each programme, so the accreditation status of Agricultural Science specifically is not confirmed. In 2016 NCCE accredited 17 of the college’s 20 programmes and gave the other three interim accreditation, according to Myschool, but the report did not name them.
A House of Representatives bill to upgrade the college to a Federal University of Education passed second reading. I found no record of a third reading, Senate passage or presidential assent, so it remains a college of education admitting NCE students under NCCE rules. Treat any advert using the name “Federal University of Education, Eha-Amufu” with care until the college itself announces a change.
Careers and next steps
- Teaching: Agricultural Science in primary and secondary schools. Teachers register with TRCN.
- A degree: JAMB’s brochure entry for Agricultural Science and Education lists NCE merit in Agriculture (Double Major) as a Direct Entry qualification.
- Agribusiness and extension: farm management, poultry and fish farming, extension work and input sales.

Mistakes that cost NCE applicants a place
- No Agricultural Science credit: weakens an Agric application even with four other credits.
- No Mathematics credit: the advert names it for every course.
- Skipping JAMB registration: the UTME is waived for four-credit candidates, but the JAMB NCE registration and CAPS are not.
- Leaving Awaiting Results unresolved: the college cannot recommend you until your result is uploaded.
- Different names on documents: make sure your O’level, birth certificate and JAMB record match.
- Letting the CAPS offer lapse: JAMB gave four weeks to accept in 2026/2027.
