FCE Eha-Amufu Computer Science Education (NCE) Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

FCE Eha-Amufu needs no UTME score for NCE Computer Science Education if you have four O’level credits, but JAMB registration and CAPS are compulsory. See the combinations, subjects, screening, a worked example and CAPS steps.

The FCE Eha-Amufu cut-off mark for Computer Science Education (NCE) is effectively no UTME score at all for 2026/2027. Under the national admission policy agreed on 11 May 2026, NCE candidates with at least four O’level credits do not sit the UTME. They still register with JAMB, and Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu admits them through CAPS. The college itself has not published a separate cut-off for any of its Computer Science Education combinations.

2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and the NCE entry route usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the rules on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official position (the 2026/2027 national admission policy) and the college’s most recent advert we could trace. If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.

Your real hurdle for Computer Science Education at Eha-Amufu is your O’level result, plus the college’s own screening. Below I set out the official figures and the older ones, the six computer combinations the college has been listed as offering, the subjects you need, how screening works with a worked example, the CAPS steps and what the three-year programme leads to. No official FCE Eha-Amufu course list was reachable when I checked, so confirm with the college that your exact combination is running before you pay for anything.

The college used the national minimum of 100 when the UTME still applied to NCE. The 2026 policy then removed the UTME step for credit-holding NCE applicants, and no numeric 2026 minimum for colleges of education was announced. So if a website tells you “FCE Eha-Amufu cut-off mark 2026 is 100” for NCE, it is repeating an older rule.

If you have already written the UTME, your score does no harm, and it keeps the door open for a degree course elsewhere. It is simply not what the college uses to decide NCE admission this cycle.

Computer Science Education combinations at FCE Eha-Amufu

NCE students study two teaching subjects side by side. Lists of FCE Eha-Amufu courses (Schoolings.org, 2018 with a 2020 update, and O3schools’ January 2026 list) show these computer pairings in the School of Sciences:

CombinationSecond teaching subjectWho it suits
Computer Science Education/MathematicsMathematicsStrong Maths students who want to teach both subjects in secondary school
Computer Science Education/Integrated ScienceIntegrated Science (Basic Science)Those aiming to teach Basic Science and Computer Studies in junior secondary
Computer Education/PhysicsPhysicsCandidates with a good Physics credit
Computer Education/BiologyBiologyCandidates whose best science is Biology
Computer Education/ChemistryChemistryCandidates with a good Chemistry credit
Computer Education/MusicMusicCandidates with a Music background; check the music audition rule with the college

These names come from third-party lists, not an official 2026/2027 college page. Course lists in colleges of education change when NCCE approves or withdraws a combination, so ask the college admissions office which of the six are open for your session.

Safe target for Computer Science Education at Eha-Amufu (my advice)

With no UTME cut-off in play, the useful target is an O’level profile that clears the college’s rule with room to spare. This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a college rule.

Your O’level profileMy read for NCE Computer Science Education
Fewer than four credits, or no credit in English or MathematicsNot eligible for regular NCE; look at the Pre-NCE route
Four credits including English and Mathematics, two relevant sciences, two sittingsMeets the college’s advert; admission likely if the combination has space
Five credits including English, Mathematics, Physics and another science, one sittingStrong. This is the profile I would aim for
Strong credits plus a UTME score of 140 or moreVery safe, and it also keeps a university Direct Entry or UTME route open later

I suggest five credits even though the college asks for four. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s brochure entry for Computer Science Education/Mathematics lists five credits, including English, Mathematics, Physics and two other sciences. NCE colleges have usually asked for fewer, but going in with five protects you if the college or NCCE tightens the rule, and it is what you will need later for a B.Ed.

O’level and UTME subjects for Computer Science Education (NCE)

RequirementComputer Science Education at FCE Eha-Amufu
O’level (college advert)Four credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, two of them relevant to the course (2021/2022 advert; not re-confirmed for 2026/2027)
Relevant subjectsFor computer combinations: Mathematics plus the science you pair with Computer (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Basic/Integrated Science; Music for Computer/Music
Exams acceptedWAEC SSCE, NECO SSCE, GCE O’level; NABTEB is commonly accepted but not named in the advert
Other entry routes (advert)Grade II Teacher’s Certificate with credit or merit in four subjects including English and Mathematics
UTMENot needed for 2026/2027 if you have four credits (registration with JAMB still needed)
If you sit the UTME anywayMyschool’s JAMB brochure reprint gives Mathematics and any two sciences for Computer Science Education/Mathematics, and Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics and another science for Computer Science/Biology. Use of English is compulsory for everyone. Confirm on the JAMB e-brochure
Direct EntryNot used for NCE entry; NCE itself is the qualification many later use for Direct Entry into a degree

A Computer Studies credit at O’level helps you settle into the course, but none of the sources I found makes it compulsory. Mathematics is the subject that decides most computer applications, so a weak Maths credit is the thing to fix first.

Pre-NCE if you are short of credits

FCE Eha-Amufu has advertised a Pre-NCE programme in past years. It is a remedial route for candidates who lack some of the required credits. The 2026/2027 details, fees and dates were not available from the college, so ask before choosing it.

How FCE Eha-Amufu screens NCE candidates

The college’s adverts say candidates must apply on its portal and pass its selection process. Blog reprints describe the same flow each year: create a portal profile, generate a Remita invoice, pay at a bank, upload a passport photograph, fill in your JAMB, O’level and birth certificate details, and print an acknowledgement slip. The 2026/2027 fee and dates were not published in any source I could check.

DetailWhat we know

Aggregate formulaNot published by the college

Worked example (illustrative)

Because the college publishes no aggregate formula, the useful calculation is an eligibility check against its advert. These are made-up candidates.

Ifeoma wants Computer Science Education/Mathematics. Her one-sitting WAEC result: English C5, Mathematics B3, Physics C6, Chemistry C4, Biology B2, Economics C5.

  1. Credit count: six credits. The advert asks for four. Pass.
  2. English and Mathematics: both credits. Pass.
  3. Two relevant subjects: Mathematics and Physics. Pass.
  4. Sittings: one. Pass.
  5. My verdict: she clears every published rule with margin. Her job now is to get her O’level onto CAPS, apply on the portal early and do well in any selection test.

Emeka wants Computer Education/Physics. His result: English C6, Mathematics D7, Physics C5, Chemistry C6, Biology C4 across two sittings. He has four credits, but no credit in Mathematics, so he does not meet the advert’s rule. A Maths resit (WAEC GCE or NECO GCE) or the Pre-NCE route is his realistic option.

Your chances and my advice

  • The bar is lower than university, the paperwork is stricter: NCE applications most often stall on documents: O’level not on CAPS, mismatched names, or a missing Maths credit.
  • Apply early in the portal window: combinations have limited space and the college ranks within the pool it has.
  • Keep the sciences honest: pick the computer pairing that matches your strongest science credit. A C6 in Chemistry is a weak reason to choose Computer/Chemistry.
  • Know the deadline: for 2026/2027, JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the last day for colleges of education to finish admissions.
  • Check the combination is live: the course list I could find is from third-party sites, so a call or visit to the college is worth it.

How to apply for Computer Science Education at FCE Eha-Amufu

JAMB registration for NCE: JAMB’s June 2026 guide for NCE candidates sets the costs: ₦1,500 for a one-sitting O’level verification code (₦2,000 for two sittings), ₦3,500 for the NCE application and ₦700 at the accredited centre. Choose FCE Eha-Amufu as your institution, make sure your O’level result is on CAPS, and wait for the Provost to recommend you on CAPS. Registering for NCE suspends any UTME or Direct Entry application you have open, so decide on one route before you pay.

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN. JAMB replies with a profile code you take to a registration centre.
  2. Register with JAMB for NCE: under the 2026 policy you do not need a UTME score if you have four or more credits, but you must still be on JAMB’s system. Pick Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as your institution and the Computer Science Education combination you want as your course. If you registered for another school, do a JAMB change of institution before the college screens.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at an accredited CBT centre, have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded to your JAMB profile. JAMB says NCE credentials are screened and processed through CAPS, so a missing O’level upload can stall your offer.
  4. Apply on the college portal: create a profile, generate the screening invoice, pay, upload a passport photograph and fill in your O’level, birth certificate and JAMB details, then print the acknowledgement slip. The college’s 2021 advert put the form at ₦2,000 through a portal invoice paid at a bank; the 2026/2027 fee and dates were not published in any source I reached.
  5. Write the college’s selection test if one is fixed: the college’s adverts say candidates must pass its selection process. Check the portal for the date and bring your printed slip and original results.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. For 2026/2027, JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept an offer, after which it can be withdrawn. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear: print your admission letter and pay acceptance and school charges through the college portal. A blog puts the acceptance fee at ₦5,000 through Remita, but that figure looks old and the college has not published one I could check, so confirm it on the portal first.

Warning

JAMB says admissions done outside CAPS are illegal, and that includes NCE. Nobody can sell you an FCE Eha-Amufu NCE “slot”. Pay only through an invoice generated on the college portal, and confirm that your course is still running before you pay any fee.

Studying Computer Science Education (NCE) at Eha-Amufu

Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu is in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State. It was founded in 1981, moved to Eha-Amufu the same year and became a federal college in 1993. The regular NCE runs for three years. The college’s 2021 advert also mentioned a sandwich mode over five long vacations, which suits serving teachers.

What you study

  • Computer side: computer fundamentals, programming, data processing and office applications, networking basics and methods of teaching Computer Studies.
  • Second subject: the full NCE content of your pairing (Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science or Music).
  • Education courses: child development, educational psychology, curriculum, measurement and evaluation, which every NCE student takes.
  • General studies: use of English and other general courses set by NCCE.
  • Teaching practice: supervised teaching in a school, normally in the final year.

The exact course outline for the college is not online, so treat this as the standard NCCE pattern for computer education.

Accreditation

The college is open on the NCCE accredited colleges list. In July 2016, Myschool reported that NCCE had accredited 17 of the college’s 20 programmes, with the other three on interim accreditation, but the report does not name them. The current accreditation status of each computer combination is not confirmed, so ask the college before you accept an offer.

Is it still a college of education?

Yes. The NCCE list of accredited colleges (checked 29 October 2026) still lists Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as a federal college of education with the status “open”. A House of Representatives bill to upgrade it to a Federal University of Education passed second reading, but I found no record of a third reading, Senate passage or presidential assent. Until that happens, the college admits NCE students under NCCE rules, and its B.Ed degrees run in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

If you see a social media advert using the name “Federal University of Education, Eha-Amufu”, treat it with care and check it against the college’s own channels before paying anything.

Careers and next steps

  • Teaching: Computer Studies plus your second subject in junior and senior secondary schools. The NCE is the minimum teaching qualification in Nigeria.
  • Registration as a teacher: qualified teachers register with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
  • Further study: many NCE holders go on to a B.Ed or B.Sc (Ed) through JAMB Direct Entry. FCE Eha-Amufu runs B.Ed programmes in affiliation with UNN.
  • Outside the classroom: ICT support, computer training centres and school data officer roles.

If you would rather go straight to a degree, compare the ESUT Computer Education cut-off mark and the UNN Computer and Robotics Education cut-off mark.

Mistakes that cost NCE computer applicants a place

  • Assuming JAMB registration is optional: the UTME is waived for four-credit candidates, JAMB registration is not.
  • No Mathematics credit: the advert names it, and every computer combination depends on it.
  • O’level not uploaded to CAPS: your credentials are screened there.
  • Choosing a combination that is not running: confirm with the college first.
  • Ignoring the CAPS offer: for 2026/2027 JAMB allowed four weeks to accept.

FCE Eha-Amufu Computer Science Education: frequently asked questions

Do I need a JAMB score to study Computer Science Education in FCE Eha-Amufu? Not for 2026/2027 if you have at least four O’level credits. You must still register with JAMB, and the college admits you through CAPS.

Can I study Computer Science Education at Eha-Amufu without Physics? Yes for some pairings. The college advert asks for English, Mathematics and two relevant subjects, so Computer/Biology or Computer/Integrated Science can work without Physics, but Computer Education/Physics needs it.

How many years is NCE Computer Science in FCE Eha-Amufu? Three years in the regular mode. The college has also advertised a sandwich mode run over five long vacations.

Can I go to university after NCE Computer Science Education? Yes. NCE is widely used for JAMB Direct Entry into degree courses in Education, and FCE Eha-Amufu itself runs UNN-affiliated B.Ed programmes. Check the JAMB brochure for the grade your target university wants.
