Topfaith University has not published a cut-off mark for Medicine and Surgery, and before you think about scores there is a bigger question. Topfaith lists a six-year MBBS on its website and charges ₦3,600,000 a session for it in 2026/2027, but I could not find the course on JAMB’s list of Topfaith courses, an NUC approval letter, or an MDCN accreditation. Topfaith’s admissions page asks only that you “meet cut-off marks in UTME in relevant subjects” and gives no number. JAMB’s floor for any university course is 150, but no serious medical school admits near it.
2027/2028 update: Topfaith University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
This page sets out exactly what I checked and what I found, the subjects and O’level grades medicine needs anywhere, a safe target score if Topfaith’s MBBS is confirmed, and the Akwa Ibom alternatives where the approvals are clearer.
Is Topfaith University MBBS approved? What I checked
| Check | What I found (3 November 2026) |
|---|---|
| Topfaith’s MBBS programme page | Describes a six-year MBBS and says the university is “Licensed by the National Universities Commission”. It does not mention MDCN |
| Topfaith 2026/2027 fees page | Lists Medicine and Surgery at ₦3,600,000 a session |
| Myschool’s JAMB course list for Topfaith | Medicine and Surgery is not listed (24 Topfaith courses are; MBBS and Cybersecurity are missing) |
| NUC approval letter or news report | None found. Topfaith’s 2023 approval notice covers eight programmes and does not include Medicine |
| NUC Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 | No MBBS row for Topfaith |
| MDCN list of accredited medical schools | Topfaith is not on the MDCN list I reached (53 schools, undated) |
Topfaith says its MBBS is NUC-licensed, but none of the public records I could check confirms an NUC approval or MDCN accreditation for it, and JAMB’s course list reprinted by Myschool does not show it for Topfaith. Approvals can be issued before they appear in public lists, so this is not proof the programme is unapproved, but it does mean you should not apply, accept or pay for Topfaith MBBS until you have confirmation in writing.
Two things matter most. First, JAMB can only process an admission into a course that is listed for that university, so check the course on your JAMB profile or CAPS. Second, the MDCN registers medical graduates for housemanship, and a school’s MDCN accreditation is what makes that possible. Ask Topfaith for its MDCN accreditation letter and admission quota.

| Item | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Topfaith cut-off for Medicine and Surgery | Not published | Topfaith admissions page; Myschool reprint of the 2026/2027 notice (20 May 2026) |
| JAMB minimum for all universities (2026 UTME) | 150 | Official (JAMB policy meeting, 11 May 2026) |
| Safe target score | 250 and above (only if approval is confirmed) | My advice, not a Topfaith rule |
| UTME subjects | English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology | JAMB brochure (Myschool reprint) |
| O’level | English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology | JAMB brochure plus Topfaith’s own rule |
| Sittings | No more than two | Topfaith admissions page |

Topfaith Medicine and Surgery cut-off: what has been published
| Session | Figure | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | Not published | Topfaith’s own cut-off for Medicine and Surgery | topfaith.edu.ng/admissions (checked 3 November 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB’s minimum UTME score for every university | JAMB 2026 policy meeting (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | No score given | Myschool reprint of Topfaith’s application notice | Myschool, 20 May 2026 |
| Earlier sessions | None found | No Topfaith departmental figure in any source I reached | Searches up to 3 November 2026 |
So the only number you can treat as official is 150. Topfaith takes its students through JAMB, and JAMB will not let any university admit a 2026 candidate below that line. If a blog shows you a “Topfaith Medicine and Surgery cut-off” of 180 or 200, ask where it came from: none of the figures I have seen cites a Topfaith document.
There is no Topfaith MBBS cut-off history, and I found no public record of Topfaith admitting MBBS students through JAMB. If you know someone who claims to be in Topfaith MBBS, ask whether the admission shows on their JAMB CAPS profile as Medicine and Surgery.
Safe target score for Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, built from how young private universities in Nigeria usually fill their places. It is not a Topfaith rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any university course |
| 150 to 219 | Too low for medicine in my view, wherever you apply |
| 220 to 249 | Possible at some private medical schools |
| 250 to 279 | Competitive. This is the range I would aim for |
| 280 and above | Strong; also needed for public medical schools such as AKSU (290 in 2026/2027) |
If Topfaith’s MBBS is confirmed on CAPS and by the MDCN, I would aim for at least 250, with A or B grades in all five O’level sciences. Medicine is the most competitive course in Nigeria, and private medical schools with MDCN quotas fill their small classes with high scorers.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith
| Requirement | Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (JAMB brochure) | Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Topfaith’s MBBS page gives the same subjects) |
| O’level (JAMB brochure) | Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Topfaith’s MBBS page allows no more than two sittings; many universities insist on one |
| O’level (Topfaith rule for every course) | Five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at no more than two sittings |
| Topfaith remark in the brochure | None. The Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Medicine and Surgery page lists no Topfaith-specific remark, so the general line applies |
| Direct Entry (JAMB brochure) | A-level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology, in addition to UTME requirements; some universities accept a relevant degree |
| Direct Entry (Topfaith) | Five credits plus at least two A-level passes in relevant subjects, or an ND or HND with credit, or a good first degree |
| Transfer | JAMB admission letter, transcript and an attestation letter from your previous university |
The subjects are the same everywhere: English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the UTME. A few universities (UDUS, UNIMAID) accept Mathematics in place of Physics through their own remarks, but those do not cover Topfaith, and Topfaith’s own MBBS page lists Physics.
At O’level you need credits in all five: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. UNIBEN, UI, ABSU and several others demand one sitting for Medicine. Topfaith’s page allows two, but a one-sitting result keeps every medical school open.
How Topfaith screens Medicine and Surgery applicants
Topfaith states that all its admissions go through JAMB. You apply online on the Topfaith portal, upload your documents, and choose Topfaith as your first choice on JAMB. The 2026/2027 notice does not publish a Post-UTME test, a test date, a form price or a scoring formula, so I cannot tell you whether Medicine and Surgery applicants sit a paper test or are judged on UTME and O’level alone.
| Detail | Topfaith 2026/2027 |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates with five relevant credits (English and Mathematics included) who meet the UTME cut-off and chose Topfaith |
| Application | Online at topfaith.edu.ng/application/ (“Start Application”) |
| Form fee | Not published |
| Post-UTME test | Not described in the notice |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
| Contacts listed | admissions@topfaith.edu.ng and two phone lines on the admissions page |
Worked example (illustrative)
With no published formula, the useful sum is the gap between your score, the 150 floor and my safe target of 250. These candidates are made up to show the method.
Take Ekaette, who scored 262 and has A1 in Biology, B2 in Chemistry, B2 in Physics, B3 in Mathematics and B2 in English from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 262 minus 150 = 112. Ekaette clears the JAMB floor by 112 marks.
- Against my safe target: 262 minus 250 = 12. Ekaette sits 12 marks above the score I would call safe.
- O’level check: all five credits, one sitting, strong science grades.
- What I would advise: she has a medicine-level score. I would put her at a university where MBBS is listed on CAPS and accredited by the MDCN, and only consider Topfaith if both are confirmed in writing.
Daniel scored 214. 214 minus 150 = 64, so the score itself is enough to be considered. That is not a medicine score. Even if Topfaith admits MBBS students, I would advise him to look at Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science or Public Health, or retake the UTME.
Your chances of getting Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith
Topfaith is a young private university in Mkpatak, Essien Udim LGA. Its first students matriculated in May 2022, and it now lists 26 programmes on its 2026/2027 fees page. Private universities in Akwa Ibom draw far fewer UTME applicants than the University of Uyo, and fees screen out many families, so a candidate who clears 150 and has clean O’level results is usually in a stronger position at Topfaith than at a federal university with the same score.
I cannot give you odds for a course I cannot confirm is open to JAMB admissions at Topfaith. If it is confirmed, expect a small class, high fees and stiff competition from candidates who missed UNIUYO and AKSU.
How Topfaith compares with other Akwa Ibom universities
| University | Type | 2026/2027 minimum |
|---|---|---|
| University of Uyo (UNIUYO) | Federal | 150, with UNIUYO as first choice (UNIUYO 2026/2027 notice). Fully accredited by the MDCN with a quota of 150 on the MDCN list I reached |
| Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) | State | 150 (reprint of AKSU 2026/2027 notice). MBBS minimum 290 for 2026/2027; NUC approved MBBS on 3 September 2026; MDCN status not confirmed |
JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities; that date has now passed. Private universities, Topfaith included, have until 30 November 2026, so admissions at Topfaith can still move on CAPS this month.
How to apply for Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Confirm the course is listed: before you choose Topfaith for Medicine and Surgery, check the course list for Topfaith on your JAMB profile or at a CBT centre. If MBBS does not appear for Topfaith, JAMB cannot process the admission. Register Medicine and Surgery with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at a university where it is listed, such as UNIUYO.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at an accredited JAMB CBT centre as soon as your result is out. Check that English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology all show.
- Apply on the Topfaith portal: open topfaith.edu.ng/application, click “Start Application”, fill the form and upload the documents it asks for.
- Follow the screening instructions: Topfaith contacts applicants about the next step. If you hear nothing, write to admissions@topfaith.edu.ng with your JAMB number.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay the acceptance fee and register: the acceptance fee is ₦100,000 and is not refundable. Pay it and the ₦3,600,000 tuition only through channels Topfaith confirms, then print your JAMB admission letter.
Before you pay for MBBS
Do not pay the ₦100,000 acceptance fee or any MBBS tuition at Topfaith until Medicine and Surgery shows as your course on JAMB CAPS and Topfaith has shown you its MDCN accreditation letter. An admission outside CAPS is not valid.
Studying Medicine and Surgery at Topfaith University
Topfaith lists Medicine and Surgery under its Medical Sciences unit. Its programme page describes six years in two phases, pre-clinical and clinical, with clinical training through a teaching hospital partnership that the page does not name.
Accreditation
Medicine needs two regulators. The NUC approves the programme and accredits it, and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) accredits the medical school, sets its quota and registers its graduates.
For Topfaith, I found neither. The 2023 NUC approval Topfaith announced covered Civil, Mechanical, Chemical and Mechatronics Engineering, Architecture, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science and Public Health. The resource verification article for the Medical Sciences faculty names Nursing, Public Health and Medical Laboratory Science but not Medicine. The NUC’s results list has no MBBS row for Topfaith, and the MDCN list I reached does not include it. Status: not confirmed.
What you study
- Pre-clinical years: anatomy, physiology and biochemistry after a foundation year of basic sciences.
- Para-clinical: pathology, pharmacology, microbiology and haematology.
- Clinical years: internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and community medicine on hospital rotations.
- After graduation: MDCN provisional registration, one year of housemanship, then full registration.
Careers
Doctors work in hospitals, primary health care, public health, research, the armed forces and industry, and can specialise through residency. All of that starts with MDCN registration, which is why the school’s MDCN accreditation is the first thing to check.
Fees in the College of Medical Sciences, 2026/2027

Mistakes that cost Medicine and Surgery applicants a Topfaith place
- Choosing a course that is not on JAMB’s list for the school: JAMB cannot admit you into it.
- Paying before CAPS: every real offer appears on CAPS first.
- A medicine plan built on a score near 150: no medical school admits near the floor.
- Leaving O’level off CAPS: JAMB cannot process an admission without it.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and registration at Topfaith are separate steps.

Sources and updates
The application rules, the online portal and the contacts come from Topfaith’s admissions page; tuition and the ₦100,000 acceptance fee come from its fees page for 2026/2027 freshers (both checked 3 November 2026). The absence of a cut-off figure is confirmed by Myschool’s reprint of Topfaith’s 2026/2027 notice (20 May 2026). Subject requirements come from Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s brochure page for Medicine and Surgery, which carries no Topfaith remark. The MBBS page claims and the six-year length come from Topfaith’s MBBS page; the course list is Myschool’s Topfaith institution course list. The NUC position comes from Topfaith’s 2023 approval notice and the NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 (no Topfaith MBBS row). The MDCN check used the MDCN document “Medical schools accredited by MDCN” (53 schools, undated). AKSU and UNIUYO figures come from their 2026/2027 notices and reprints. The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). Comparison figures for other Akwa Ibom universities come from their own 2026/2027 notices or reprints, as labelled in the table. The safe target score and the worked example are my advice. This page will be updated if Topfaith publishes a cut-off for Medicine and Surgery.
