Peaceland College of Education Geography Education (NCE) Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 & Admission Requirements

Peaceland College of Education has not published a cut-off mark for NCE Geography Education, and NCE candidates with four O’level credits no longer sit the UTME. See all seven Geography pairings, the credits each needs, JAMB fees and CAPS steps for 2027/2028.

There is no published Peaceland College of Education Geography Education cut off mark for 2027/2028, and under the 2026 rules NCE candidates with four O’level credits do not write the UTME. Geography is the most widely paired subject at Peaceland College of Education, Enugu: JAMB lists it with Economics, English, Chemistry, History, Integrated Science, Mathematics and Physics, seven pairings in all. You still register with JAMB, and the offer only counts once it shows on CAPS.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland College of Education admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the position on this page is what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. It comes from the latest official position (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.

Because Geography sits with both arts and science subjects, the credits you need depend on your partner subject. Peaceland has not published a cut-off or subject rules for any of the seven, so this page sets out the official rules, the college’s own advert history and my advice per pairing, labelled as advice.

Peaceland has never published a cut-off mark for Geography Education on its own. The 140 figure in 2024 covered every form the college was selling that year, including its degree programme, which no longer takes new students (more on that below). The 100 figure was JAMB’s floor for all colleges of education in 2025/2026. For 2026/2027 the score question mostly disappears, because NCE candidates with four credits are not asked to write the UTME.

Do you need JAMB or UTME for Geography Education at Peaceland College of Education?

You need JAMB. You do not need the UTME, as long as you hold at least four O’level credit passes. Three official statements in 2026 set this out:

  • 11 May 2026: at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, said NCE candidates with a minimum of four credit passes will no longer sit the UTME. They must still register with JAMB, and their results are checked through CAPS before any admission letter is issued.
  • June 2026: JAMB’s NCE registration guide set out the fees and the CAPS process, and said no 100 level or 200 level degree admission into any college of education is allowed from 2026/2027, affiliated degrees included. Everyone who enters a college of education now enters through NCE.
  • 23 July 2026: NCE registration without UTME opened at Institutional Professional Registration Centres (IPRCs) in colleges of education and at JAMB professional registration centres.

On timing, Nairametrics reported on 11 May 2026 that the exemption would take effect from the 2027 admission cycle, while JAMB’s June 2026 guide and Legit’s 23 July 2026 report show it was already being used for 2026 admissions. For a 2027/2028 candidate both readings point the same way: if you are going for NCE, you do not write the UTME.

What JAMB charges for NCE registration

ItemAmountWho pays it
O’level verification code, one sitting₦1,500Every NCE applicant (bought from the exam body)
O’level verification code, two sittings₦2,000Applicants combining two results
JAMB NCE application fee₦3,500New NCE applicants who did not register for the 2026 UTME
CBT or IPRC centre charge₦700Every NCE applicant
Moving a 2026 UTME application to NCE₦700 onlyUTME candidates whose first choice was a college of education

These are JAMB’s 2026/2027 amounts. The 2027/2028 guide may change them, so confirm the figure at the centre before you pay. Peaceland’s own form, if it sells one, is a separate charge the college has not published.

Safe target for Geography Education at Peaceland (my advice)

This is my judgement. Peaceland has not said how it ranks NCE applicants.

Your O’level is now the main thing the college can compare. For Geography, the grades that count are English, Mathematics, Geography itself and your partner subject. My reading:

Your O’level positionMy read for a Geography pairing at Peaceland
Fewer than four creditsNot eligible for the no-UTME route; resit first
No credit in GeographyWeak for every pairing; you will teach the subject
Five credits including English, Mathematics, Geography and the partner subject, two sittingsMeets the usual college of education standard
Five or more credits in one sitting, with B grades in Geography and the partner subjectStrong. This is what I would aim for

If you are also sitting the 2027 UTME for a university, the 2026 university minimum was 150. Peaceland’s NCE admission does not use that score, and JAMB processes a candidate for only one mode of entry at a time.

All seven Geography pairings at Peaceland and the credits each needs

CombinationSideCredits I would have (besides English and Mathematics)
Economics/GeographySocial sciencesGeography, Economics, Government or Commerce
English/GeographyArtsGeography, Literature in English, a strong English grade
Geography/HistoryArtsGeography, History or Government, Literature or CRS
Geography/ChemistrySciencesGeography, Chemistry, Physics or Biology
Geography/PhysicsSciencesGeography, Physics, Chemistry
Geography/Integrated ScienceSciencesGeography, two of Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Geography/MathematicsSciencesGeography, a strong Mathematics grade, Physics or Economics

The credit lists are my advice from general college of education practice; Peaceland has not published rules for any pairing. The “side” column is editorial. The federal exemption speaks only of four credits, while colleges usually ask for five including English and Mathematics, so five is the safer plan for any Geography pairing.

The science pairings are also covered on our Peaceland Biology, Chemistry and Physics page and our Integrated Science and Mathematics page.

Worked example for a Geography applicant (illustrative)

Peaceland has not published an aggregate formula. These made-up cases show how to test yourself against the rules.

Chukwuemeka has one WAEC sitting: English C5, Mathematics C6, Geography B2, Economics B3, Government C4, Civic Education C5, Biology D7 and Literature in English C6. He wants Economics/Geography.

  • Credit count: seven credits, above the four-credit rule.
  • Five-credit check: English and Mathematics both credited, one sitting.
  • Subject check: B2 in Geography and B3 in Economics. A strong file for this pairing.
  • Process: WAEC verification code (₦1,500), NCE registration with Peaceland as first choice (₦3,500 plus ₦700), then the CAPS proposal and the Provost’s recommendation.

Amarachi wrote the 2026 UTME with a university as first choice and Geography as her course. She was not moved to NCE automatically, because JAMB only migrates candidates whose first choice was a college of education. To get Peaceland’s Geography/History, she registers for NCE with Peaceland as first choice; once she is recommended for NCE, her UTME process is suspended. If a university offer is still possible for her, she should weigh that before switching.

Your chances of admission into Geography Education at Peaceland

Peaceland does not publish applicant numbers. Geography usually draws moderate interest at NCE level, and having seven pairings gives you room to choose the one your grades support best. In my judgement, credits in English, Mathematics, Geography and the partner subject from one sitting make for a good application.

  • Choose the pairing that matches your strongest grade. Your partner subject is half your teaching load.
  • Make Peaceland your first choice. NCE registrations go to the first-choice college.
  • Confirm the pairing is running this session. Ask the college before you register.
  • Accept the offer on CAPS promptly. Offers not accepted within four weeks can be withdrawn.

How to apply for Geography Education at Peaceland College of Education, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Buy your O’level verification code: from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two. Write down the exam year, exam number and subjects exactly as on your result.
  3. Register for NCE at a JAMB centre or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, choose Peaceland College of Education, Enugu as your first choice and pick the Geography pairing you want. Your biometrics are captured and you get a slip.
  4. Make sure your O’level is on CAPS: your results and verification code must be uploaded, because CAPS checks them against the exam body’s record. A candidate marked Awaiting Results cannot be proposed until the result is uploaded.
  5. Already registered for UTME? If a college of education was your first choice, JAMB moves you to NCE and you pay ₦700 only. Once you are recommended for NCE, your UTME process is suspended, so you cannot run both.
  6. Fill Peaceland’s own form if it asks for one: the college has not published a portal address or form price in any source I reached. The “portal” link in Myschool’s 2026/2027 report points to Myschool’s own page for the college. Confirm with the college in Enugu before you pay anyone.
  7. Wait for the proposal and recommendation: under JAMB’s guide, the college proposes you on CAPS, the Provost recommends you, and JAMB then checks your O’level before the offer shows.
  8. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept within four weeks or the offer can be withdrawn. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  9. Pay the acceptance fee and register: Peaceland has not published its acceptance or school fees. Pay only through the channel on your admission letter or the college’s official notice.

If you are still chasing a 2026/2027 place, JAMB’s admission window for colleges of education runs until 31 December 2026. Candidates planning for 2027/2028 should watch for the next NCE registration notice and register with Peaceland as first choice from the start.

Warning

The Federal Government has said any admission done outside JAMB CAPS is illegal. If someone offers you a Peaceland College of Education place that never shows on CAPS, or asks for money to “process” one, do not pay.

About Peaceland College of Education, Enugu

Peaceland College of Education is a private college of education in Enugu. It appears as “Peaceland College of Education, Enugu” on the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) list of accredited colleges, where it is shown as open, with Rev. Fr. Dr. Leo Ilechukwu named as Provost. A business directory gives its address as 1 Old Path Close, opposite ESUT MSP, by Nkpokiti Junction, Independence Layout, Enugu, and says it was set up in 2014; I could not confirm either detail on a college page, so check before you travel.

It is a different institution from Peaceland University, Enugu. The names are close and some blogs mix them up, but the university admits degree students with UTME scores, while the college runs NCE. A Peaceland University form is not a Peaceland College of Education form.

In its 2026/2027 advert, as reported by Myschool on 18 July 2026, the college offered NCE, the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and part-time study, and described its courses as fully accredited. The advert did not give requirements, prices or dates. Its 2024/2025 advert also offered a degree programme. Blogs have linked that degree to Abia State University, and a directory links the college to Anambra State University; neither link was confirmed. Since JAMB has stopped new degree admissions into colleges of education from 2026/2027, plan to take any degree at a university after your NCE.

Accreditation

NCE programmes are regulated by the NCCE. The college is on the NCCE accredited list, but I could not confirm the accreditation status of each Geography Education combination, so I am not claiming it. Ask the college for the current NCCE status of your exact combination before you accept an offer.

Studying NCE Geography Education at Peaceland College of Education

NCE normally takes three years full time. Peaceland has not published a Geography course outline, so this describes NCE Geography in general.

  • Physical geography: landforms, weather and climate, soils and vegetation.
  • Human and regional geography: population, settlement, economic activities and the geography of Nigeria and Africa.
  • Practical geography: map reading and interpretation, statistical methods and fieldwork.
  • Your partner subject: studied in full alongside Geography.
  • Education courses and teaching practice: methods of teaching, psychology, curriculum studies and supervised teaching.

Careers and further study

  • Teaching: Social Studies and Geography content in primary and junior secondary schools, plus your partner subject. The NCE is Nigeria’s minimum teaching qualification.
  • Registration: with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
  • Degree later: a B.Sc (Ed) Geography or a related degree at a university, which leads to senior secondary teaching and work in environmental and planning fields.

Mistakes that cost Geography applicants a Peaceland place

  • Choosing a science pairing on arts grades: Geography/Physics without Physics and Mathematics credits is a weak file.
  • Registering under the wrong combination name: the offer is made against the course on your JAMB record.
  • Treating Peaceland University forms as the college’s: they are two institutions.
  • Paying for a “portal” link from a blog: Myschool’s link goes to its own page, and the college has not published one.
  • Stopping after CAPS acceptance: pay the acceptance fee and register at the college too.

What is the cut off mark for Geography Education in Peaceland College of Education? Peaceland has not published one. The national floor for colleges of education was 100 in 2025/2026, and from 2026/2027 NCE candidates with four credits do not need a UTME score.

Do I need Mathematics for Geography Education at Peaceland? The college has not published its rule, but colleges of education usually ask for credits in English and Mathematics, and map work uses basic statistics. Have the Mathematics credit if you can.
