The Fed Poly Ukana Environmental Science and Management Technology cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. In its 2026/2027 ND screening notice, Fed Poly Ukana asked every ND applicant, Environmental Science and Management Technology included, for at least 100 in the 2026 UTME. That is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics too, and the school has published no course figure of its own.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ukana cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Environmental Science and Management Technology appears in Fed Poly Ukana’s 2025/2026 ND admission notice under the School of Applied Sciences, but it is not on JAMB’s course list for the school as reprinted by Myschool in November 2026. ND admission only happens through JAMB CAPS, which is why the missing listing needs checking first. Check the warning that follows before you pay for anything. I have also added a safe target score and a worked example for Environmental Science and Management Technology, both marked as my advice.
Check CAPS first
Environmental Science and Management Technology is not on JAMB’s course list for Fed Poly Ukana. Before buying a screening form, check JAMB’s e-brochure and your CAPS page to confirm you can select the course for this school, or ask the admissions office in writing how it admits into Environmental Science and Management Technology. If it cannot be selected, choose Science Laboratory Technology, which JAMB does list for the school.

Fed Poly Ukana Environmental Science and Management Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | Fed Poly Ukana ND screening notice: minimum UTME score for all ND applicants | Official (school notice, via Myschool) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2025/2026 | Not shown | Fed Poly Ukana ND notice (the reprint lists courses but no score) | Official notice, partial reprint |
| Any year | None | A separate Fed Poly Ukana cut-off for Environmental Science and Management Technology | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB held polytechnics at 100 in both 2025 and 2026, and Fed Poly Ukana matched it in its own 2026/2027 notice. If someone gives you an Environmental Science and Management Technology cut-off, they are guessing, because none has ever been published.
Safe target score for Environmental Science and Management Technology at Fed Poly Ukana (my advice)
These bands are my own judgement as an admissions adviser, applied to Environmental Science and Management Technology. Fed Poly Ukana has not set them, and the school does not publish merit lists with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Environmental Science and Management Technology at Fed Poly Ukana |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible; your chance depends on how many apply |
| 120 to 139 | Good chance; 130 is the score I would aim for |
| 140 and above | Strong |
If you are writing the 2027 UTME for Environmental Science and Management Technology, I would aim for 130 or more. Add clean credits in the O’level subjects below. The minimum gets you into screening, and the margin above it is your protection when applicants outnumber places.
Catchment and state of origin
Fed Poly Ukana takes candidates from all states because it is a federal polytechnic. Most federal institutions share out places by merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states. The school has not published its ND split, so Environmental Science and Management Technology applicants from Akwa Ibom should not count on an automatic advantage, and those from other states should not assume a disadvantage.
Fed Poly Ukana Environmental Science and Management Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Environmental Science and Management Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English and three relevant science subjects, usually from Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Physics and Mathematics (usual JAMB pattern; the Myschool brochure page for this course showed no requirements when I checked) |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology plus one relevant subject (usual pattern; not verified) |
| English Language | English Language and Mathematics credits are expected |
| Brochure remark for Fed Poly Ukana | None found |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (named in the school notice) |
| Sittings | Not more than two sittings (school notice) |
What I would register for the UTME: English, Chemistry, Biology and Geography (or Mathematics). Our JAMB Geography syllabus will help you plan your revision.
The Myschool reprint of JAMB’s brochure did not show the Environmental Science and Management Technology requirements when I checked. The lines above are JAMB’s usual pattern for the course; confirm them on the e-brochure before you register.
Your five credits should be built on the core subjects in the table (English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology for this course). If one slot is free, use it for a subject that helps Environmental Science and Management Technology. Then upload that exact result to JAMB CAPS and bring the same one to screening, so the grades match.
Direct Entry and the HND route
There is no Direct Entry into ND year one, and ND Environmental Science and Management Technology admission runs through the UTME and JAMB CAPS only. Once you have the ND and a one-year industrial attachment, the HND application goes directly to the polytechnic, not through CAPS. Read our guide to Fed Poly Ukana HND admission requirements for the details.
How Fed Poly Ukana screening works
The notice for 2026/2027 ND full-time screening came out in August 2026. I worked from Myschool’s reprint because the Fed Poly Ukana website would not open for me, and the reprint stops partway through the list of documents to bring. So some details are missing.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 notice says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who chose Fed Poly Ukana and scored at least 100 in the 2026 UTME | Official |
| O’level | Five credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent, at not more than two sittings | Official |
| Form fee | ₦2,000 | Official |
| Where to apply | eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng (the application page of the school portal) | Official |
| Closing date | Not shown in the reprint | Check the portal |
| Test or document check | Not shown in the reprint, which breaks off at the instruction to bring original documents | Check the portal |
| Admission lists | First batch out by 11 September 2026; third batch reported on 26 October 2026 | Myschool reports |
Three batches are already out, so the 2026/2027 exercise is mostly at the acceptance stage. If you chose Fed Poly Ukana in the 2026 UTME and have no offer yet, keep checking CAPS. JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for polytechnics, so later batches are still possible.
Worked example for an ND Environmental Science and Management Technology applicant
Take Aniefiok, who scored 127 in English, Chemistry, Biology and Geography, with credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 127 minus 100 = 27. Aniefiok is above the school minimum.
- Against my safe target: 127 minus 130 = -3. That is just under my target, so the O’level result has to be clean.
- O’level check: all five credits come from one sitting and cover the core subjects for Environmental Science and Management Technology, so nothing needs fixing there.
- CAPS check: Aniefiok still has to upload the same O’level result to JAMB CAPS, or no offer can be approved.
This is an illustration only, since Fed Poly Ukana has not published a formula. Many polytechnics combine the UTME score with a screening score, so take the UTME score divided by 8, out of 50, plus a screening score out of 50. Aniefiok’s 127 gives 15.88. Add a screening score of 30 and the total is 45.88 out of 100, against 43.75 for a candidate on 110 with the same screening score.
Your chances of getting Environmental Science and Management Technology at Fed Poly Ukana
- This course is not on JAMB’s list for the school, so your first job is to make sure it can be chosen at all.
- Where it does run, environmental courses tend to have fewer applicants than SLT or Computer Science.
- If you cannot select it on JAMB, SLT is the closest science course that is on JAMB’s list.
- Fed Poly Ukana released ND lists in batches in 2026, so a missing name in the first list did not mean rejection.
- JAMB gave polytechnics until 31 December 2026 to finish 2026/2027 admissions, so an Environmental Science and Management Technology offer can arrive late in the year.
How to apply for Environmental Science and Management Technology at Fed Poly Ukana, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with care: select Federal Polytechnic, Ukana and the subject combination above. Environmental Science and Management Technology is not on JAMB’s list for the school, so choose a course JAMB does list, unless the admissions office tells you in writing how to be considered for Environmental Science and Management Technology.
- Correct your institution if needed: if Fed Poly Ukana was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution ahead of screening. Switching into Environmental Science and Management Technology from another course? Read JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: visit a JAMB accredited centre and upload the result with your English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology credits. Until CAPS shows an O’level result, JAMB cannot approve an offer.
- Apply on the eportal: visit eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng, find the ND application page, pay the ₦2,000 fee, complete the form and print your slip.
- Turn up for screening: the portal announces the exercise. Take the slip, the UTME result slip and the original O’level result that shows your English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology credits.
- Accept the offer on CAPS: go to efacility.jamb.gov.ng, click Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept it. The JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and do clearance: the acceptance fee has not been published in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the school portal, then clear using your printed JAMB admission letter.

Studying Environmental Science and Management Technology at Fed Poly Ukana
ND Environmental Science and Management Technology belongs to the School of Applied Sciences. The school is at Ukana, in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The course trains environmental technicians who monitor pollution, manage waste and take part in environmental impact work.
What you study
These are the usual NBTE ND curriculum topics for Environmental Science and Management Technology. The department has not published its own course list online.
- Principles of environmental science and ecology
- Environmental chemistry and pollution
- Waste management and sanitation
- Water resources and soil science
- Environmental impact assessment basics
- Statistics, computing and general studies
Duration and accreditation
Fed Poly Ukana has not published a timetable for Environmental Science and Management Technology, so plan with the national NBTE pattern. The ND takes two years full time, including a short SIWES attachment. An HND then needs the one-year industrial attachment and, usually, an ND at Lower Credit or above.
The NBTE approved eight ND programmes at Fed Poly Ukana after a July 2022 resource inspection (The Will, 10 August 2022), and Environmental Science and Management Technology was not one of them. I found no public record of a later approval, though there may have been one. Before paying fees, ask the department for the course’s NBTE approval status. An unapproved course can cause problems later, for example when you apply for HND.
Careers after the ND
- Environmental officer or field assistant with state environmental agencies
- Waste management or sanitation supervisor
- Assistant on environmental impact and pollution monitoring projects
- Health, safety and environment support roles in oil, gas and construction firms
- HND in an environmental option, then further study

Mistakes that cost Environmental Science and Management Technology applicants
- Paying before checking CAPS: the course does not appear on JAMB’s list for this school.
- No Chemistry or Biology credit: both are expected for an environmental science course.
- Confusing it with Environmental Health: that is a health course regulated differently.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
- Paying anyone outside the eportal: the ₦2,000 form is paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng.
Fed Poly Ukana Environmental Science and Management Technology: frequently asked questions
Is Environmental Science on JAMB for Fed Poly Ukana? Not on JAMB’s list as reprinted by Myschool in November 2026. The course appeared in the school’s own admission notice, so ask the admissions office how to be considered before you pay.
What subjects do I need for Environmental Science and Management Technology? Plan for English, Chemistry, Biology and Geography or Mathematics in the UTME, and credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology at O’level. Confirm on the e-brochure.
How much is the Fed Poly Ukana screening form? The 2026/2027 ND screening form cost ₦2,000, paid through eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng. The 2027/2028 price has not been announced; budget ₦2,000 until it is.
Is 115 enough for Environmental Science and Management Technology at Fed Poly Ukana? You are eligible, because 115 clears the 100 minimum. It is below the 130 I would aim for in Environmental Science and Management Technology, though, so make sure your O’level result is strong.
Sources and updates
JAMB’s 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 deadline for admissions are taken from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 minimum, also 100, comes from Nairametrics (8 July 2025), and Blueprint and AllAfrica reports match it. My source for the 2022 NBTE approvals is The Will (10 August 2022), and the location comes from the NBTE directory. The Environmental Science and Management Technology UTME and O’level lines follow JAMB’s usual pattern for the course, because the brochure page showed no requirements; confirm them on JAMB’s e-brochure. Reports on Myschool of 11 September, 26 October and 31 October 2026 are the source for the admission list dates. On 10 August 2026 Myschool reprinted the school’s screening notice, and that is my source for the 2026/2027 entry requirements (₦2,000 form on the eportal, minimum 100, five credits at not more than two sittings). For the 2025/2026 course list I used Myschool’s reprint of that year’s ND notice (18 July 2025). Whether Environmental Science and Management Technology is on JAMB’s list comes from the Myschool list of Fed Poly Ukana courses. The safe target scores and the worked example are my advice, not figures from the school. Everything was checked on 3 November 2026, and I will update this page when Fed Poly Ukana publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
