The ADSU cut off mark for Computer Science is 170 in the UTME, and that is the figure to plan with for 2027/2028. Adamawa State University, Mubi published it in its official list of approved programme cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 session, signed for the Registrar by Admission Officer Dunfe S. Anjili. That is 20 marks above JAMB’s national minimum. Only Biochemistry, Microbiology and Computer Science sit at 170, the highest figure on ADSU’s list after Law. Computer Science was also 170 in 2025/2026.
2027/2028 update: ADSU cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Computer Science is ADSU’s most established computing degree and one of its hardest courses to qualify for. Below are the official figures, a safe target score (my advice), the subjects, ADSU’s Direct Entry waiver, how the 2026 screening ran, a worked example, the CAPS steps and the 150 and 160 alternatives.

Computer Science held at 170 on both lists. For 2026/2027 ADSU also added two newer computing courses beside it: Cyber Security at 160 and Information System at 150, both in the renamed Faculty of Science and Computing.
Is 170 enough for Computer Science at ADSU?
ADSU calls these figures cut-off marks, and in practice they work as the lowest score it will consider for the course. ADSU has not published the score of the last candidate admitted into Computer Science, so nobody outside the admissions office knows how far above 170 the intake went.
Computer Science is among the most requested courses at almost every Nigerian university, and ADSU keeps it 20 marks above the national minimum. Expect most successful candidates to sit well above 170.
Safe target score for Computer Science at ADSU (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not an ADSU rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Computer Science at ADSU |
|---|---|
| Below 170 | Not eligible for Computer Science (150 to 169 still qualifies for most other ADSU courses) |
| 170 to 184 | Eligible, but borderline |
| 185 to 204 | Possible with strong O’level grades |
| 205 to 224 | Competitive. This is the range I would aim for |
| 225 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 205. Strong credits in Mathematics and Physics will help if ADSU has to choose between candidates on similar scores.
Catchment and indigene rules
The only catchment rule on ADSU’s 2026/2027 list is for Law, where Adamawa indigenes needed 230 and non-indigenes 260. Computer Science has one figure, 170, for every candidate. ADSU has not published a merit, catchment or quota split for any other course, so do not plan around the federal 45/35/20 formula.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Computer Science at ADSU
| Requirement | Computer Science at ADSU |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English plus Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other science subjects (JAMB brochure). |
| Sittings | Not stated in the reprinted 2026 notice. Two sittings are widely accepted in Nigeria, but one sitting is safer. |
| Direct Entry | JAMB’s brochure names ADSU in its waiver list: ADSU accepts an ND (upper credit) or HND (lower credit) in relevant fields, and NCE (merit) in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science. The general rule is two A level science passes including Mathematics. |
| First choice | ADSU as first choice, or a JAMB change of institution to ADSU (2026 notice) |
Physics is compulsory in the UTME for Computer Science, and so is Mathematics. Candidates who register Mathematics, Economics and a third subject without Physics do not fit the course.
The subjects above are JAMB’s general requirements for Computer Science from the brochure page as reprinted by Myschool. That page names ADSU only in its Direct Entry waiver (ND, HND and NCE holders), shown in the table. Check the ADSU line on your own JAMB e-brochure before registration day.
How ADSU screening worked in 2026
ADSU’s 2026/2027 screening ran from Monday 15 June to 30 October 2026 and is now closed. The notice, as reprinted by Myschool and Androidpols, described an online screening exercise; no test was announced.

Worked example for a Computer Science candidate
ADSU has not published an aggregate or ranking formula, and with no test there is no Post-UTME score to combine. What you can work out is the gap between your score, the 170 cut-off and a safe target. The candidates below are made up to show the arithmetic.
Take Sani, who scored 201 and has B2, B3, B3, C4 and C4 in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 201 minus 170 = 31. He clears the Computer Science cut-off by 31 marks.
- Against my safe target: 205 minus 201 = 4. He is 4 marks below the score I would call comfortable.
- O’level check: Mathematics, Physics and the other sciences are all credits.
- What I would advise: he is close to a competitive score. Keep Computer Science, and if ADSU sends a CAPS transfer to Cyber Security or Mathematics, weigh it before rejecting.
Deborah scored 166. 170 minus 166 = 4, so she misses Computer Science. 166 minus 160 = 6 clears Cyber Security, and she is 16 above Computer Science Education and Information System at 150. Of those three, only Computer Science Education was on JAMB’s ADSU list when I checked.
How to apply for Computer Science at ADSU, step by step
- Get your profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME: choose Computer Science with English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography, and make ADSU your first choice. If you did not, do a JAMB change of institution before ADSU’s screening opens.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your result is out. JAMB admits through CAPS, so the upload has to include English, Mathematics and Physics and two other science subjects.
- Fill the ADSU screening form: in 2026 ADSU told candidates to go to www.adsu.edu.ng, click on “post UTME” and fill in the required details. The fee was ₦2,000. Print the slip the portal gives you.
- Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and open Check Admission Status. Accept the offer when it appears, or reject it if you have a better one.
- Print your JAMB admission letter: after accepting on CAPS, print it from the JAMB portal. ADSU will ask for it at clearance.
- Pay acceptance and clear: ADSU has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Confirm the amount on the ADSU portal and pay only through it.
Warning
ADSU’s 2026 screening was an online form with a ₦2,000 fee, and every genuine admission offer shows on JAMB CAPS. JAMB says admissions done outside CAPS are illegal. Do not pay anyone who promises a Computer Science “slot” at ADSU.
JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities to finish admissions; that date has now passed. If you applied for Computer Science in 2026, check JAMB CAPS and the ADSU portal for your admission status. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each CAPS status.

Mistakes that cost Computer Science applicants an ADSU place
- No Physics in the UTME: JAMB requires Mathematics and Physics for Computer Science.
- Treating 170 as an admission score: it is the lowest score ADSU will consider.
- No Mathematics credit: ADSU’s 2026 notice asked every candidate for credits in English and Mathematics.
- ADSU not first choice: the notice told other candidates to change their first choice to ADSU on the JAMB website.
- O’level missing on CAPS: without it, CAPS cannot process an offer.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: the acceptance fee and clearance at ADSU are separate steps.
If you are trying again in 2027, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and JAMB change of course.
