Adamawa Poly Cut-Off Mark for Electrical/Electronics Engineering 2027/2028

Adamawa Poly’s cut off mark for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology is JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100. The course has thin listing evidence, so confirm it on CAPS; here are the subjects, O’level and screening steps.

The Adamawa Poly cut off mark for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics in both 2025/2026 and 2026/2027. Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola has not published a separate cut-off for ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, and I found no school notice that sets one. Before anything else, note that the evidence that the polytechnic runs this course is thinner than for most of its courses; the next section explains.

2027/2028 update: Adamawa Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Adamawa Poly has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

A score of 100 makes you eligible to be considered. It does not guarantee a place. Below you will find the verified figures, the last cut-off the polytechnic itself announced, a safe target score (my advice), the JAMB subject combination and O’level rules for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, what is known about screening, a worked example and the CAPS steps.

Is Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology on Adamawa Poly’s course list?

Adamawa Poly has no official ND course list online that I could reach; its website, adamawapoly.edu.ng, did not load during my checks. Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology appears on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic (18 courses, checked 3 November 2026); the naija-find-uni course directory (16 courses, undated), but not on an o3schools course list (25 November 2025); and Wikipedia’s list of the polytechnic’s courses. All of these are unofficial copies, so before you register, confirm on the JAMB e-brochure or on your CAPS page that Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology is listed under Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola.

I want to be plain about this. Earlier research for this page found the course on only one list, naija-find-uni. On 3 November 2026 I also found it on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s course list for Adamawa Poly, which makes two sources. It is still missing from Wikipedia and o3schools, and I found no admission notice, departmental page or graduate record that names it. Treat the course as listed but not confirmed as admitting, and check CAPS and the polytechnic’s own notice before you rely on it.

2019/2020120“Candidates who scored 120 and above in UTME for all courses”Myschool reprint of the polytechnic’s notice, 15 July 2019

The 2019/2020 figure of 120 applied to every ND course, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology included. It is the only cut-off I could trace to the polytechnic itself, and it is now seven sessions old. JAMB has kept the national polytechnic floor at 100 since then, and Adamawa Poly’s later notices do not repeat a figure. Some blogs quote a higher “Adamawa Poly cut-off” without citing any notice; I would not plan around a number nobody can source.

Safe target score for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly (my advice)

This is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not an Adamawa Poly rule, and I found no published Adamawa Poly merit list with scores.

Your UTME scoreMy read for ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly
Below 100Not eligible for any ND course in 2026/2027
100 to 119Eligible, but weak for this course
120 to 139Possible
140 to 169Competitive
170 and aboveStrong

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 155 or more. Electrical/Electronics is usually among the more popular engineering courses at polytechnics. Because the listing evidence here is thin, I would also keep a second plan, such as Mechanical Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly or Electrical/Electronics at another polytechnic.

Does state of origin matter?

Adamawa Poly is owned by the Adamawa State Government, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split between indigenes and other candidates. I found no rule limiting ND admission to Adamawa indigenes. I would not count on any indigene advantage, or worry about lacking one, unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions it.

Adamawa Poly Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology subject combination and O’level requirements

RequirementND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
O’levelFive credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, plus any two of Biology/Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics/Commerce
Adamawa Poly remark in the JAMB brochureNone
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO and NABTEB, or GCE; the polytechnic’s advert also accepts NBTE pre-ND results and NTC, NBC or NVC certificates with five relevant credits
SittingsNot more than two sittings (polytechnic advert, as reprinted)
Interview or practicalNone published

Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are fixed, with English. Physics carries most of the course, so make it your strongest paper.

The polytechnic’s own O’level rule

For Science and Technology programmes, the polytechnic’s admission advert (as reprinted by blogs) asks for a credit in Mathematics and at least a pass in English Language. In the JAMB brochure, English Language sits on the optional list for this course, but the polytechnic still expects at least a pass, and many schools want a credit. Get the credit if you can.

Direct Entry and the HND route

There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and a year of industrial attachment, you would apply for the HND directly to the polytechnic. The only HND list I found for Adamawa Poly (a blog reprint) names business courses alone, so I could not confirm an HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering there. See our Adamawa Poly HND admission guide for what is known about HND entry.

How Adamawa Poly screening works

I could not find an official 2026/2027 screening notice from Adamawa Poly. What follows comes from blog reprints of the polytechnic’s admission advert, so treat every line as something to confirm on the portal.

Worked example for an ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology applicant

Adamawa Poly has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring how far your UTME score sits from the 100 minimum, from the old 120 figure and from a safe target. Take Samuel, who scored 158 with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Basic Electricity from one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 158 minus 100 = 58. Samuel clears JAMB’s minimum.
  2. Against the 2019/2020 figure: 158 minus 120 = 38. Even if the polytechnic went back to 120, this score passes.
  3. Against my safe target: 158 minus 155 = 3. He is just above my safe target.
  4. O’level check: credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus English and Basic Electricity, uploaded to CAPS.

Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. Purely to show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. A score of 158 gives 19.75, and 30 out of 50 in screening would bring the total to 49.75 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Adamawa Poly has not published one.

Your chances of getting Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly

  • If the course admits, expect competition similar to other popular engineering courses.
  • A score of 155 or more with credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry is a good position.
  • Because the listing is thin, keep a backup course in mind before screening.
  • JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for polytechnics.

If you find that the course is not admitting, change to Mechanical Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly, which uses almost the same UTME subjects, or to Electrical/Electronics at Federal Polytechnic, Mubi.

How to apply for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME with the right subjects: choose Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and check that the course shows under Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola when you register.
  3. Pick the right institution: choose Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola as first choice. Do not pick the separate listing that ends in “affiliated to University of Maiduguri”; that one is for degree courses.
  4. Fix your choice if needed: if Adamawa Poly was not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology from another course, see JAMB change of course.
  5. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot process an admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
  6. Fill the screening form: when the polytechnic opens its form, pay the fee shown on the official portal, fill the form and print the acknowledgement and screening slips. Blogs give the fee as ₦2,000 and the portal as spy.admissions.cloud; both are unverified, so check the address against an official Adamawa Poly notice first.
  7. Sit the screening: go on the date on your slip, with both slips, your UTME result slip and your O’level results.
  8. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  9. Pay acceptance and clear: Adamawa Poly has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through an invoice from the polytechnic’s portal, then complete clearance.

Warning

JAMB lists two Adamawa State Polytechnic entries. “Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola” is the one for ND courses. “Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola (affiliated to University of Maiduguri)” is for degree courses and follows university rules. Choosing the wrong entry can leave you outside the ND admission list, so check your choice on your JAMB profile before screening.

If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result. For revision, see our JAMB Chemistry syllabus.

Studying Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology at Adamawa Poly

ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology covers electrical installation, machines, power and basic electronics. Adamawa Poly has not published which campus runs it, or a departmental page.

What you study

  • Electrical engineering science and circuit theory
  • Electrical installation and workshop practice
  • Electronics: devices and circuits
  • Electrical machines and power systems
  • Engineering drawing and technical mathematics
  • Communication in English and general studies

Duration and accreditation

Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Adamawa Poly has not published a course timetable for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, so treat this as the national pattern.

Adamawa Poly is a state polytechnic under the NBTE. I could not confirm the current NBTE accreditation status of ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology itself. Ask the department, or check the NBTE’s list of accredited programmes, before you pay school fees.

Careers after the ND

  • Electrical installation and maintenance technician
  • Power distribution companies and solar installers
  • Electronics repair and telecom site technician
  • HND Electrical/Electronics Engineering, and later COREN registration as a technician or technologist

Mistakes that cost Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology applicants a place at Adamawa Poly

  • Assuming the course admits: confirm on CAPS and with the polytechnic.
  • Wrong UTME subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are fixed.
  • A weak Physics result: it is required at O’level and is central to the course.
  • No O’level on CAPS: JAMB cannot process the admission.

Adamawa Poly Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology cut-off: frequently asked questions

Does Adamawa Poly offer Electrical/Electronics Engineering? It appears on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s course list and on one other directory, but not on Wikipedia or o3schools, and I found no admission notice naming it. Confirm on CAPS and with the polytechnic before choosing it.

What is the cut off mark for Electrical Engineering in Adamawa Poly? JAMB’s polytechnic minimum of 100 applies, and no course figure is published. I suggest aiming for about 155.

What subjects do I need for Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology? In the UTME: English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. At O’level: five credits including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

What can I study instead of Electrical Engineering at Adamawa Poly? Mechanical Engineering Technology uses almost the same UTME subjects and is on all four course lists. Computer Science is another option if you have Mathematics and Physics.

Sources and updates

The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (ND Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology brochure page), checked on 3 November 2026. That page carries no remark for Adamawa Poly. The course listing is from the Myschool list of Adamawa State Polytechnic courses, cross-checked against the naija-find-uni directory, o3schools (25 November 2025) and Wikipedia. The 120 cut-off for 2019/2020 is from Myschool’s reprint of the polytechnic’s notice (15 July 2019), and the 2022/2023 entry rules are from Myschool’s reprint of the ND advert (8 September 2022). The screening fee, portal and test rules are from schoolings.org (page modified 12 March 2026) and remain unverified. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Adamawa Poly publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
