Fed Poly Mubi Forestry Technology Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028

The Fed Poly Mubi Forestry Technology cut off mark is JAMB’s 100 for polytechnics. The brochure subject line for this course is unusual, so check it here along with the O’level rules, screening and CAPS steps.

The Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Forestry Technology is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi has not published a separate cut-off for ND Forestry Technology, and I found no departmental figure for earlier years either.

2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Mubi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Forestry Technology is a smaller course, and the competition is usually lighter than in the business or computing courses. The trap is the subject combination: the brochure line reprinted for this course reads like an engineering line, so many candidates register the wrong subjects. This page covers the figures, a safe target score, the subjects, screening and the CAPS steps.

Do not mix this school up with the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAM). They are two separate federal institutions in the same town. The polytechnic awards the ND and HND and uses the 100 polytechnic minimum; the university awards degrees and follows the 150 university minimum. On your JAMB profile, Fed Poly Mubi is listed as Federal Polytechnic, Mubi (MUBIPOLY on the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s course list).

JAMB kept the polytechnic minimum at 100 in both 2025 and 2026. Fed Poly Mubi may admit above that line for some courses, but it has not announced a figure for Forestry Technology. If a website quotes an exact “Fed Poly Mubi Forestry Technology cut-off” such as 140 or 160, ask where it came from.

Safe target score for Forestry Technology at Fed Poly Mubi (my advice)

This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a Fed Poly Mubi rule, and the polytechnic has not published merit lists with scores.

Your UTME scoreMy read for ND Forestry Technology at Fed Poly Mubi
Below 100Not eligible for any ND course this session
100 to 119Eligible. For a smaller course this may be enough, but no admission data has been published to prove it
120 to 139Reasonable
140 and aboveStrong for this course, in my view

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 140, and spend more effort on getting the subject combination and O’level credits right.

Catchment and state of origin

Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic in Adamawa State, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. It admits candidates from across Nigeria. I would not count on a state-of-origin advantage unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions one.

Fed Poly Mubi Forestry Technology subject combination and O’level requirements

RequirementND Forestry Technology
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics and any two of Chemistry, Physics or Technical Drawing
O’levelFive credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and any two subjects from the brochure list
Fed Poly Mubi remark in the brochureNone. The remarks on the page cover other institutions (codes such as FECOFOR-IBD, FEDAGRIC-AKR and FEDPO-BAU), not Fed Poly Mubi.
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE are the usual ones; Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own list for this course
SittingsNot stated by Fed Poly Mubi; two sittings is the common polytechnic limit
Interview or practicalNone published

The general line on the Myschool reprint asks for Mathematics and two of Chemistry, Physics or Technical Drawing. Biology and Agricultural Science are missing, which is odd for a forestry course, and several other colleges have remarks that let candidates use Biology or Agricultural Science. Fed Poly Mubi has no such remark, so the general line is what applies to you as printed.

My advice is to register Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics with English. That combination satisfies the general line, and it also matches the O’level core of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Before you pay for the UTME, check the course on JAMB’s own e-brochure in case the line has been corrected.

Direct Entry and the HND route

There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Forestry Technology admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and industrial attachment, you can apply for an HND. Forestry does not appear on the blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND programmes I found, so you may need to take an HND in a related field or at another institution. Ask the department.

For details of the HND form, see our Fed Poly Mubi HND admission requirements guide. The HND course list there comes from a blog, so check it on the portal.

How Fed Poly Mubi screening works

Fed Poly Mubi has not put its 2026/2027 screening details in any source I could reach. Its website at fpmubieportal.edu.ng has an Admission Portal link, and two reprints of the session’s notices exist, but neither gives a fee, a date or a test format. Here is what is known.

Because the polytechnic has not said how it ranks applicants, the safest plan is a UTME score well above 100 and a clean O’level record on CAPS.

Worked example for an ND Forestry Technology applicant

Fed Poly Mubi has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring the gap between your score, the 100 minimum and a safe target. Take Joseph, who scored 128.

  1. Eligibility: 128 minus 100 = 28. Joseph is above JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics.
  2. Against my safe target: Joseph is 12 points below my 140 target, so a strong screening performance and clean O’level results matter more.
  3. Subject check: he wrote Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics with English, which matches the brochure line.
  4. O’level check: credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from one sitting, uploaded to CAPS.

Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. Joseph’s 128 gives 16, and a screening score of 30 out of 50 would give 46 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Mubi has not published one.

Your chances of getting Forestry Technology at Fed Poly Mubi

  • In my view Forestry draws fewer applicants than the business and computing courses, so a score in the 120s or 130s can be competitive, in my view.
  • The common failure is a wrong subject combination, such as Biology, Chemistry and Agricultural Science, which does not match the printed line.
  • The course was on the 2026/2027 notice, so it was admitting in the latest session with a published advert.
  • Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline. For the 2026/2027 session JAMB set 31 December 2026 for polytechnics, so keep checking CAPS until then.

If you are offered Horticultural Technology or Agricultural Technology instead, both are in the same school and lead into similar land and plant work.

How to apply for Forestry Technology at Fed Poly Mubi, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME correctly: choose Forestry Technology and register Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Chemistry, Physics or Technical Drawing. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, not the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi.
  3. Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Mubi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot offer you admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
  5. Fill the screening form: open the Admission Portal link on fpmubieportal.edu.ng, pay only through the invoice the portal generates, complete the form and print every slip it gives you.
  6. Attend screening if called: take your UTME result slip, O’level results and the portal printouts.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Mubi has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through a portal invoice in your name, then complete clearance.

Warning

Admission into Fed Poly Mubi comes through JAMB CAPS. If anyone offers you a “special list” slot or a “direct admission” for money, walk away. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through a portal invoice in your name.

If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result. For the Chemistry paper, see our JAMB Chemistry syllabus guide.

Studying Forestry Technology at Fed Poly Mubi

ND Forestry Technology sits in the School of Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi. It trains technicians to raise tree nurseries, manage plantations and natural forest, and measure timber, with fieldwork in the Mubi area.

What you study

  • Forest botany and tree identification
  • Nursery and plantation establishment
  • Forest measurement (mensuration) and basic surveying
  • Wood properties and timber utilisation
  • Wildlife and range management basics
  • Communication in English and general studies courses

Duration and accreditation

Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT) before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Mubi has not published a course timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.

Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). I could not confirm the current NBTE accreditation status of ND Forestry Technology itself. Ask the department, or check the NBTE’s list of accredited programmes, before you pay school fees.

Careers after the ND

  • Forest guard or forestry assistant with state forestry services
  • Nursery and plantation work for government and private estates
  • Timber grading and sawmill supervision
  • Environmental and tree-planting projects run by NGOs and agencies

Mistakes that cost Forestry Technology applicants a place at Fed Poly Mubi

  • Treating 100 as a safe score: it is the minimum to apply, not a promise of admission.
  • Registering Biology instead of the printed subjects: the general UTME line for this course does not include Biology.
  • No credit in Physics or Chemistry: the O’level core is Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • Choosing the wrong Mubi institution: the polytechnic and the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi are separate choices on JAMB.
  • O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot process your admission without it.
  • Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and clearance at the polytechnic are separate steps.

Fed Poly Mubi Forestry Technology cut-off: frequently asked questions

What is the JAMB subject combination for Forestry Technology at Fed Poly Mubi? The brochure reprint gives Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Chemistry, Physics or Technical Drawing. Check JAMB’s e-brochure before registering, because the line is unusual for a forestry course.

Can I use Biology for Forestry in Fed Poly Mubi JAMB? Not under the general line, and Fed Poly Mubi has no remark allowing it. Some other colleges have such remarks, but they do not apply to Mubi.

Is 110 enough for Forestry Technology in Fed Poly Mubi? It meets JAMB’s 100 minimum, so you can be considered. Forestry is a smaller course, but no admission data has been published, so a higher score is safer.

Is there HND Forestry at Fed Poly Mubi? Forestry is not on the blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND courses I found. Ask the department before you start, if an HND matters to you.

Sources and updates

The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The course list is from the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Federal Polytechnic, Mubi course list and the 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice reprinted by Myschool on 8 August 2026, which is cut off after the first engineering course. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (Forestry Technology brochure page), which has no Fed Poly Mubi remark. The 2026/2027 post-UTME form report is from AbsTechConnect (12 August 2026) and is unofficial. The polytechnic’s history (founded in 1979, moved from Yola to Mubi in 1982) is from Wikipedia, and the separation from the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi is from Leadership’s report on the 2023 approval of that university. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Mubi publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
