The Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Agricultural Technology is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi has not published a separate cut-off for ND Agricultural Technology, and I found no departmental figure for earlier years either.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Mubi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Clearing 100 only makes you eligible. Agricultural Technology is the general agriculture ND at Fed Poly Mubi, and it usually attracts a steady number of applicants from Adamawa and nearby states. This page covers the verified figures, a safe target score, the JAMB subject combination, the O’level rules, what is known about screening, and the CAPS steps.
Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Agricultural Technology at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |

| Programme level | National Diploma (ND), full time | Entry through the UTME and JAMB CAPS |
| School | School of Agricultural Technology | 2026/2027 notice (Myschool reprint) |
| UTME subjects | Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and one other science | JAMB polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool |
| On the 2026/2027 advert? | Yes | Listed under its school in the 2026/2027 ND/HND notice (Myschool reprint, 8 August 2026) |
| Screening fee and dates | Not published officially | Check the polytechnic portal |
| Admission deadline set by JAMB | 31 December 2026 for polytechnics (2026/2027) | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
Do not mix this school up with the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAM). They are two separate federal institutions in the same town. The polytechnic awards the ND and HND and uses the 100 polytechnic minimum; the university awards degrees and follows the 150 university minimum. On your JAMB profile, Fed Poly Mubi is listed as Federal Polytechnic, Mubi (MUBIPOLY on the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s course list).
Fed Poly Mubi Agricultural Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Fed Poly Mubi cut-off for Agricultural Technology specifically | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic minimum at 100 in both 2025 and 2026. Fed Poly Mubi may admit above that line for some courses, but it has not announced a figure for Agricultural Technology. If a website quotes an exact “Fed Poly Mubi Agricultural Technology cut-off” such as 140 or 160, ask where it came from.
Safe target score for Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a Fed Poly Mubi rule, and the polytechnic has not published merit lists with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible, but close to the floor |
| 120 to 149 | Reasonable |
| 150 to 179 | Good |
| 180 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 150, with credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science.
Catchment and state of origin
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic in Adamawa State, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. It admits candidates from across Nigeria. I would not count on a state-of-origin advantage unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Mubi Agricultural Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Agricultural Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other science subject |
| O’level | Five credits in Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and any three relevant subjects. Credits in English Language and Chemistry are compulsory. |
| Fed Poly Mubi remark in the brochure | None. The Myschool reprint of the brochure page names other polytechnics in its remarks, but not Fed Poly Mubi. |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE are the usual ones; Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own list for this course |
| Sittings | Not stated by Fed Poly Mubi; two sittings is the common polytechnic limit |
| Interview or practical | None published |
Mathematics is not compulsory in the UTME for Agricultural Technology, but it is compulsory at O’level. For the fourth UTME subject I would take Physics or Mathematics, since either counts as “any other science subject” and both help in farm mechanisation and surveying courses later.
At O’level, the five credits must include Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics, English Language and Chemistry. That leaves one more relevant subject, such as Physics, Geography or Economics. A pass in Chemistry is a common reason good UTME candidates get stuck, so check your result before you apply.
Direct Entry and the HND route
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Agricultural Technology admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and industrial attachment, you can apply directly to the polytechnic for an HND. A blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND programmes includes Agric Extension and Management and Crop Production, which are the usual routes for Agricultural Technology graduates.
For details of the HND form, see our Fed Poly Mubi HND admission requirements guide. The HND course list there comes from a blog, so check it on the portal.
How Fed Poly Mubi screening works
Fed Poly Mubi has not put its 2026/2027 screening details in any source I could reach. Its website at fpmubieportal.edu.ng has an Admission Portal link, and two reprints of the session’s notices exist, but neither gives a fee, a date or a test format. Here is what is known.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice | Announced; reprint lists programmes by school but is cut off in the engineering list | Myschool reprint, 8 August 2026 |
| Post-UTME form for ND full time | Released for 2026/2027 | AbsTechConnect, 12 August 2026 (blog) |
| Who can apply | The blog says candidates who did not choose the polytechnic can still apply | Unofficial; you would still need a change of institution before CAPS can admit you |
| Minimum UTME score | 100 | JAMB rule |
| Screening fee | Not published | Unknown |
| Screening date and format | Not published | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
Because the polytechnic has not said how it ranks applicants, the safest plan is a UTME score well above 100 and a clean O’level record on CAPS.
Worked example for an ND Agricultural Technology applicant
Fed Poly Mubi has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring the gap between your score, the 100 minimum and a safe target. Take Halima, who scored 148.
- Eligibility: 148 minus 100 = 48. Halima is above JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics.
- Against my safe target: Halima is 2 points below my 150 target, so a strong screening performance and clean O’level results matter more.
- Subject check: she wrote Biology, Chemistry and Physics with English. That matches the brochure line.
- O’level check: credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Agricultural Science from one sitting, uploaded to CAPS.
Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. Halima’s 148 gives 18.5, and a screening score of 30 out of 50 would give 48.5 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Mubi has not published one.
Your chances of getting Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi
- Agricultural Technology is usually less crowded than Accountancy or Computer Science, so a score in the 140s or 150s gives you a fair chance.
- Candidates with weak O’level Chemistry or English are the ones who lose out, whatever their UTME score.
- The course was on the 2026/2027 notice, so it was admitting in the latest session with a published advert.
- Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline. For the 2026/2027 session JAMB set 31 December 2026 for polytechnics, so keep checking CAPS until then.
If the polytechnic offers you Horticultural Technology or Animal Health and Production Technology instead, both sit in the same School of Agricultural Technology and share many first-year courses.
How to apply for Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Agricultural Technology and register Use of English, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other science subject. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, not the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Mubi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot offer you admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
- Fill the screening form: open the Admission Portal link on fpmubieportal.edu.ng, pay only through the invoice the portal generates, complete the form and print every slip it gives you.
- Attend screening if called: take your UTME result slip, O’level results and the portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Mubi has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through a portal invoice in your name, then complete clearance.
Warning
Admission into Fed Poly Mubi comes through JAMB CAPS. If anyone offers you a “special list” slot or a “direct admission” for money, walk away. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through a portal invoice in your name.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result. For the UTME papers, our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus guides list the topics.
Studying Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi
ND Agricultural Technology sits in the School of Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi, in Mubi, Adamawa State. The course trains you in crop and animal production, soil management and farm machinery, with practical work on the polytechnic’s farm.
What you study
- Crop production, from land preparation to harvest and storage
- Soil science and fertiliser use
- Animal husbandry, including poultry and small ruminants
- Farm machinery, tractor operation and basic farm structures
- Agricultural economics, farm records and extension methods
- Communication in English and the general studies courses every ND student takes
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT) before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Mubi has not published a course timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). I could not confirm the current NBTE accreditation status of ND Agricultural Technology itself. Ask the department, or check the NBTE’s list of accredited programmes, before you pay school fees.
Careers after the ND
- Farm supervisor or farm manager on commercial and family farms
- Agricultural extension work with state ministries and agencies
- Agro-input sales for seed, fertiliser and chemical companies
- HND in Crop Production or Agric Extension and Management, then further study

Mistakes that cost Agricultural Technology applicants a place at Fed Poly Mubi
- Treating 100 as a safe score: it is the minimum to apply, not a promise of admission.
- No credit in Chemistry: the brochure makes O’level Chemistry compulsory for this course.
- Leaving out Chemistry in the UTME: it is one of the fixed UTME subjects.
- Choosing the wrong Mubi institution: the polytechnic and the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi are separate choices on JAMB.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot process your admission without it.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and clearance at the polytechnic are separate steps.
Fed Poly Mubi Agricultural Technology cut-off: frequently asked questions
Is 120 enough for Agricultural Technology in Fed Poly Mubi? Yes for eligibility, because JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics is 100. For a comfortable chance I would aim for 150 or more.
Can I study Agricultural Technology at Fed Poly Mubi without Physics? Yes. The UTME needs Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any other science, so Mathematics can be your fourth subject instead of Physics.
Does Fed Poly Mubi accept a pass in Chemistry for Agricultural Technology? Not under the brochure’s general rule, which makes a Chemistry credit compulsory, and Fed Poly Mubi has no remark relaxing it for this course.
Is Fed Poly Mubi the same as the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi? No. They are separate institutions in Mubi. The polytechnic runs ND Agricultural Technology; the university runs degree programmes and has its own UTME cut-off.
Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The course list is from the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Federal Polytechnic, Mubi course list and the 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice reprinted by Myschool on 8 August 2026, which is cut off after the first engineering course. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (Agricultural Technology brochure page), which has no Fed Poly Mubi remark. The 2026/2027 post-UTME form report is from AbsTechConnect (12 August 2026) and is unofficial. The polytechnic’s history (founded in 1979, moved from Yola to Mubi in 1982) is from Wikipedia, and the separation from the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi is from Leadership’s report on the 2023 approval of that university. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Mubi publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
