College of Health Technology Etinan Admission Requirements 2027/2028

What is on record for the Akwa Ibom College of Health Technology, Etinan: five science credits, age 16, a ₦14,000 form sold at the Ministry of Health and an entrance exam. No JAMB, no published course list.

The Akwa Ibom College of Health Technology Etinan admission requirements, on the last notice I could find, were credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two sittings of WASSCE, GCE or NECO, a minimum age of 16, a ₦14,000 registration fee paid in person at the Public Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health, Uyo, and a pass in the college’s own entrance examination. That notice was for 2023/2024. The college did not use JAMB in any advert I found, and it has not published a list of its courses.

2027/2028 update: Akwa Ibom College of Health Technology Etinan admission requirements and entrance exam process usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the requirements on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest notice we could find (2023/2024). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

This is an honest status page. The college exists and has admitted students, but it publishes very little: no website, no course list and no 2026/2027 advert that I could find. Below is everything that is on record, what is missing, and how to protect yourself before you pay for a form.

Does the Etinan College of Health Technology use JAMB?

Not on the record. Neither the 2023/2024 advert nor the 2020/2021 admission notice mentions JAMB, a UTME score or CAPS. The college ran its own entrance examination and, in 2020, an interview. That is how many state health technology schools have admitted students into certificate programmes.

Things may change. If the college moves to JAMB-based admission for National Diploma courses, the national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics applies: JAMB set it at 100 for 2026/2027. A college can set its own higher figure, and health courses usually do. I found no such notice for Etinan.

Cut-off figures that could apply

2026/2027100JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics, if the college admits through JAMBOfficial (JAMB, 11 May 2026)

Safe target (my advice)

This is my advice, not a college rule. If a future advert asks for a UTME score, aim for at least 160 so you clear a likely health-course figure with room to spare. If the college keeps its own exam, your five science credits and your exam performance are what count, so revise English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at WAEC level.

Not the same as the School of Nursing, Etinan

Do not confuse this college with the old School of Nursing, Etinan. On the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) list of December 2025, the School of Nursing, Etinan, is shown as withdrawn, with accreditation withdrawn since 2005. Anyone selling a “School of Nursing Etinan” form for general nursing is selling something NMCN does not approve. If you want nursing in Akwa Ibom, apply to the Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences (AKSCONS), whose campuses at Anua, Ikot Ekpene and Ituk-Mbang have Full NMCN approval for nursing.

What courses does the college run?

No advert I found lists them. One clue comes from an undated list of Pharmacy Technician schools on the Pharmchoices website (page updated 24 October 2024), which names the School of Health Technology, Etinan. That list is not a document from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), so I treat it as a hint, not proof. State colleges of health technology in Nigeria commonly run courses such as community health, health information management, pharmacy technician, medical laboratory technician and environmental health, but I could not confirm which of these Etinan runs.

Before you pay, ask the college two questions in writing: which courses are admitting this session, and which regulatory body approves each course. For pharmacy technician that is PCN; for community health and environmental health courses it is the relevant health board or council. A course without the right approval can leave you with a certificate you cannot register.

  • Birth certificate or declaration of age
  • Certificate of origin from your local government area
  • Change of name documents, if your names differ across certificates

Worked example (illustrative)

The college has not published how it ranks candidates, so this example only checks eligibility against the 2023 rules.

  1. Aniebiet, 17: one WAEC sitting with English C5, Mathematics C6, Biology B3, Chemistry C5 and Physics C6. All five required credits, one sitting, over 16. Eligible.
  2. Grace, 18: WAEC with English C6, Mathematics C5, Biology C4 and Chemistry C6, plus NECO Physics C5. Five credits in two sittings. Eligible.
  3. Emmanuel, 16: English C5, Biology C4, Chemistry C5, Mathematics C6, Physics D7. Physics is not a credit, so he does not meet the 2023 rule.
  4. Joy, 18: five credits but Physics from NABTEB. The 2023 notice did not list NABTEB, so she should ask before paying.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Check that a current advert exists: look for a notice from the Ministry of Health or the college itself. In 2023 forms were only sold at the Public Health Directorate, Ministry of Health, Uyo.
  2. Ask which courses are admitting and who approves them: get the answer in writing or from an official notice.
  3. Prepare your documents: the 2023 list above, with photocopies.
  4. Pay only at the official point: the 2023 fee was ₦14,000. Keep the receipt.
  5. Sit the entrance exam: revise the five science subjects at WAEC level.
  6. Check the admission list: in 2020 it was posted on the school notice board, followed by interviews from 9 to 11 December 2020.
  7. If a future advert introduces JAMB: register for the UTME with the college as first choice, upload your O’level for CAPS and accept your offer on CAPS. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains the statuses.

Warning

Do not pay anyone who calls or messages you with a “form out” offer for the Etinan college. In 2023 forms were sold only at the Ministry of Health in Uyo. If there is no official notice, there is no form.

Your chances and my advice

Without a course list, quota or past cut-off, I cannot give you odds. What I can say is that health technology places are popular in Akwa Ibom, so a clean set of five science credits in one sitting puts you ahead. Because so little is published, I would treat Etinan as one of two or three applications, not your only plan.

Accreditation: what to check

I found no accreditation record for the college from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) or PCN, apart from the undated Pharmchoices listing. That does not prove the college lacks approval; it means none is published where I could see it. Ask for the approval letter or the board’s list that names the college before you accept a place.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Confusing the college with the School of Nursing, Etinan: the nursing school’s NMCN accreditation has been withdrawn since 2005.
  • Buying a form without a current notice: no 2026/2027 advert was found.
  • Assuming a course is approved: ask which board approves the course you want.
  • Turning up without documents: the 2023 notice listed five items, including the certificate of origin.
  • Relying on one application: with so little published, keep a JAMB-based option open too.

Akwa Ibom College of Health Technology Etinan: frequently asked questions

Is the Akwa Ibom College of Health Technology Etinan form out for 2026/2027? I found no 2026/2027 advert up to 3 November 2026. The last published sale ran from 19 June to 7 July 2023 at the Ministry of Health, Uyo.

How much is the Etinan College of Health Technology form? The last published fee was ₦14,000 for registration and processing in 2023. A new advert may change it.

Do I need JAMB for the College of Health Technology Etinan? No advert I found asked for JAMB. The college used its own entrance exam. If it moves to JAMB for ND courses, the 2026 national minimum for monotechnics was 100.

Is the School of Nursing Etinan accredited? No. NMCN’s December 2025 list shows the School of Nursing, Etinan as withdrawn since 2005. It is a different body from the College of Health Technology.
