The Ibom Metropolitan Poly cut off mark for Estate Management and Valuation is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics in 2026/2027. Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic has not published a separate cut-off for ND Estate Management and Valuation, and I found no departmental figure for any year. The school’s website gives no admission details, so the JAMB floor is the figure to work with.
2027/2028 update: Ibom Metropolitan Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic is a private polytechnic founded in 2014 by Dr Victor E. U. Utong. JAMB’s list places it at Atan Offot, Uyo, and the school describes its site as behind the State Secretariat in Uyo, while NBTE’s 2025 Directory heads its entry “Oruk-Anam”. NBTE’s 2025 Directory lists ND Estate Management and Valuation at the school (accredited (first granted 2023; 2025 accreditation, expires 1 October 2030)), but the course is not on the reprint of JAMB’s course list for Ibom Metropolitan that I checked, so you must confirm it on JAMB CAPS before you choose it.
Ibom Metropolitan Poly Estate Management and Valuation cut off mark at a glance
| Item | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum UTME score | 100 | JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics, 2026/2027 |
| Ibom Metropolitan Poly figure for Estate Management and Valuation | Not published | No school or departmental figure found |
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Economics, Arts, Physics, Chemistry and Biology | JAMB polytechnic brochure |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus course subjects | Details below |
| On JAMB’s course list for the school | Not on Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB list (checked 3 November 2026) | Confirm on CAPS or the e-brochure |
| NBTE status (2025 Directory) | Accredited (first granted 2023; 2025 accreditation, expires 1 October 2030) | NBTE 25th Edition Directory |
| Duration | Two years full-time plus SIWES | Standard NBTE pattern |
| JAMB deadline for 2026/2027 polytechnic admissions | 31 December 2026 | Official (JAMB, reported by NAN) |
Because Estate Management and Valuation is missing from the JAMB list reprint, check during UTME registration that you can pick it under Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic. If it does not appear, the school cannot admit you into it through CAPS, and you should choose a listed course or another polytechnic.
Ibom Metropolitan Poly cut off mark for Estate Management and Valuation: the figures
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Ibom Metropolitan Poly figure for Estate Management and Valuation | No published figure found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic floor at 100 for two years running, and Ibom Metropolitan has not announced a higher figure for any course. A polytechnic may set a higher mark for itself or for a busy course, so treat 100 as the legal minimum and aim higher if you can.
Safe target score (my advice)
For 2027 I would aim for 115 or more in the UTME for Estate Management and Valuation at Ibom Metropolitan Poly. That is my own target, based on how small private polytechnics in Akwa Ibom usually fill their classes; the school publishes no merit list or applicant numbers. If you land between 100 and 115 you can still apply, and your O’level grades and screening will carry more weight.
Ibom Metropolitan Poly Estate Management and Valuation subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Estate Management and Valuation |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Economics, Arts, Physics, Chemistry and Biology |
| My suggested UTME combination | English, Mathematics, Economics and one science (Physics, Chemistry or Biology) |
| O’level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) | Credits in Mathematics, English Language and a basic science, plus any two of Geography, Economics or Commerce, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Woodwork, Literature, Metal Work, Principles of Accounts and Government |
| Sittings | Two sittings at most under the standard NBTE rule; the school has not published its own |
| Ibom Metropolitan Poly remark in the brochure | None found; the base rule applies |
| Interview or practical | None published |
The polytechnic brochure line (Myschool spells the course “Mangement”) is Mathematics and any two of Economics, Arts, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. “Arts” most likely means Fine Arts, but it is not spelt out, so I would not rely on it. Geography, a natural subject for this course, is not on the UTME list.
My pick is English, Mathematics, Economics and one science. Economics fits the course, because rent, value and property markets are economics in practice, and the science covers the O’level rule that you hold a credit in a basic science.
Direct Entry and HND
ND entry is through the UTME; there is no Direct Entry route into ND1. After the ND and industrial attachment you can apply for HND Estate Management and Valuation. Becoming a registered estate surveyor and valuer with ESVARBON takes further study and the professional route through NIESV, so plan for that if you want to sign valuations. NBTE does not list an HND Estate Management at the school, so you may need another polytechnic for the HND.
Ibom Metropolitan Poly screening and how selection works
Ibom Metropolitan has not published a 2026/2027 screening notice, form price or test format that I could find, and its website carries no admission page. Private polytechnics of its size usually sell forms at the admissions office or on a portal, check documents, and may hold a short test or interview. Ask the office these questions:
- Is ND Estate Management and Valuation admitting full-time students for 2027/2028, and is it listed for the school on JAMB CAPS?
- What is the current NBTE accreditation status of the course?
- How much is the form, where do I pay, and what is the closing date?
- Is there a written test, and on which subjects?
- What are the acceptance fee and first-year fees, and is there a hostel?
Worked example (illustrative)
Take Nsikak, who wants Estate Management and Valuation at Ibom Metropolitan Poly. Nsikak scored 118 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Physics, and has English, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Geography and Civic Education in one WAEC sitting.
- JAMB minimum: 118 is 18 above 100, so Nsikak is eligible.
- My safe target: 118 clears my 115 line for Estate Management and Valuation.
- UTME subjects: Economics and Physics are both in the list of two, with Mathematics fixed.
- O’level: English, Mathematics and Physics (the basic science) are credits, and Economics and Geography complete the five.
- School listing: before paying for anything, Nsikak checks that Ibom Metropolitan Poly shows Estate Management and Valuation on the JAMB portal.
If the school used a 50:50 aggregate, 118 divided by 8 gives 14.75 out of 50, and 30 out of 50 at screening would bring the total to 44.75. That formula is only an illustration. Ibom Metropolitan Poly has not published one, and small private polytechnics often admit every candidate who meets the rules.
How to apply for Estate Management and Valuation at Ibom Metropolitan Poly, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: use English, Mathematics, Economics and one science, and choose Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic, Atan Offot as your polytechnic. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. CAPS cannot offer you admission without it.
- Contact the school: visit Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic in Uyo or use the contacts on its website, confirm the course is admitting, and buy the form only from the school. Keep every receipt.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing from the bursary, pay only through the channel the school names, and complete medical and departmental registration.
Warning
Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic is a different school from Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. Check the name on your JAMB registration, buy forms only from the school, and remember that JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.
Your chances and my advice
- Your first job is confirming that Estate Management and Valuation shows under the school on the JAMB portal. Without that, nothing else on this page helps.
- NBTE accreditation runs to 1 October 2030, which covers a two-year ND that starts in 2027/2028.
- The school advertises a City and Guilds affiliation under the slogan “One Polytechnic, Two Qualifications”. Ask what the extra certificate costs and whether it is optional.
- Living in Uyo costs more than in smaller towns, so price rent and transport into your plan if you are not from the city.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
What you study in ND Estate Management and Valuation
ND Estate Management and Valuation takes two years with a SIWES placement. You learn how land and buildings are valued, let, sold and managed, and the law and economics behind property.
| Area | Typical topics |
|---|---|
| Valuation | Principles of valuation, valuation methods |
| Property management | Estate and facility management, letting and rent collection |
| Land economics and law | Land economics, land law, the Land Use Act |
| Building and land | Building construction basics, introductory surveying, town planning |
| Supporting courses | Economics, accounting, statistics, computer applications, communication |
Ibom Metropolitan Poly has not published its own course outline, so the table follows NBTE’s usual ND pattern. Typical first jobs with the ND include estate agency staff, property management assistant, valuation assistant in a firm of estate surveyors, facility management assistant, or land documentation work.
Accreditation
NBTE’s 25th Edition Directory of Accredited Programmes (2025) lists ND Estate Management and Valuation at Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic as: Accredited (first granted 2023; 2025 accreditation, expires 1 October 2030). The school says on its website that it received NBTE accreditation in 2021 and held its first matriculation on 22 April 2022. NBTE does not list an HND Estate Management at the school, so you may need another polytechnic for the HND.
