Peace IMT Abak admission requirements for the National Diploma are a UTME score of at least 100, JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics in 2026/2027, plus the right UTME subjects and five O’level credits including English Language and Mathematics. The school, officially Peace Institute of Management and Technology, Abak, has published no cut-off of its own. NBTE’s 2025 Directory lists four ND courses there, all on interim approval to 1 October 2027: Computer Science, Public Administration, Accountancy, and Business Administration and Management.
2027/2028 update: Peace IMT cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Peace IMT started as an Innovation Enterprise Institution (IEI). NBTE’s 2020 Directory lists it as IEI number 128, approved in 2018, awarding National Innovation Diplomas. NBTE’s Schedule II list, uploaded in November 2025, names it among the IEIs recommended for upgrade to ND-awarding status, and its 2025 Directory now lists it in the ND section. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s institution list shows it as “Peace Institute of Management Technology (ND), Abak”, code PEACE-IMT, type polytechnic.

Peace IMT courses and NBTE status
| Programme | Level | Status | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| Computer Science | ND | Interim (2025) | 1 October 2027 |
| Public Administration | ND | Interim (2025) | 1 October 2027 |
| Accountancy | ND | Interim (2025) | 1 October 2027 |
| Business Administration and Management | ND | Interim (2025) | 1 October 2027 |

| Multimedia Technology | NID (old IEI programme) | Expired | 1 October 2020 |
NBTE’s Schedule II also recommended Banking and Finance for Peace IMT, but the 2025 Directory does not list ND Banking and Finance at the school, so treat it as unconfirmed. The old NID programmes from the IEI years expired in 2020; if anyone offers you a Peace IMT NID today, ask for proof of renewed approval.
Interim approval lets a newly approved programme admit students before NBTE’s accreditation visit. All four Peace IMT NDs run to 1 October 2027, which falls inside a 2027/2028 ND. Ask the school when the accreditation visit is planned and keep any letter it gives you.
Peace IMT cut-off mark
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Peace IMT figure for any course | No published figure found |
These targets are my own advice for 2027, based on how small private polytechnics usually fill their classes:
| Course | Legal minimum | My safe target for 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science | 100 | 130 or more |
| Public Administration | 100 | 110 or more |
| Accountancy | 100 | 120 or more |
| Business Administration and Management | 100 | 115 or more |
UTME subjects and O’level for Peace IMT courses
These are the JAMB polytechnic brochure base rules as reprinted by Myschool; I could not open the course list for Peace IMT, so I could not check for a school remark. Use of English is compulsory and not repeated in the table.
| Course | UTME subjects besides Use of English | O’level credits (five in all) |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics and Chemistry | Mathematics, English Language and Physics plus two others such as Chemistry and Economics |
| Public Administration | Government, History and Economics (JAMB polytechnic brochure base line) | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Government or History, Economics and Commerce |
| Accountancy | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Economics, Principles of Accounts and Commerce |
| Business Administration and Management | Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics | English Language and Mathematics plus three such as Economics, Commerce and Principles of Accounts |
Accountancy and Business Administration and Management both need Mathematics in the UTME, with two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics. Public Administration’s base line is Government, History and Economics, with no Mathematics, though you still need a Mathematics credit at O’level. Computer Science treats Physics as optional in the UTME but compulsory at O’level.
Direct Entry and HND
ND entry is through the UTME. NBTE lists no HND at Peace IMT, so you would take the HND elsewhere after your ND and a year of industrial attachment; under the standard NBTE rule you need at least a Lower Credit.
How to apply to Peace IMT Abak
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: pick your course and choose Peace Institute of Management Technology (ND), Abak as your polytechnic. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. CAPS cannot offer you admission without it.
- Contact the school: visit the campus in Abak, confirm your course is admitting and listed on JAMB, see the NBTE letter, buy the form at the school and keep every receipt.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing from the bursary, pay only through the channel the school names, and complete medical and departmental registration.
Peace IMT has no website or published admission notice that I could find. Ask the office about the form price, any written test, the acceptance and first-year fees, and accommodation.
Warning
Check that your course appears under Peace Institute of Management Technology (ND), Abak on the JAMB portal before you pay. Forms sold online by agents may have nothing to do with the school, and JAMB treats admission outside CAPS as illegal.
My advice
- Peace IMT now runs NDs that admit through JAMB, which was not true in its IEI years. That makes it a real option for candidates in Abak, Ukanafun, Etim Ekpo and Ikot Ekpene.
- All four NDs are on interim approval to 1 October 2027. Ask about the accreditation visit before you accept.
- Compare with nearby schools that have full accreditation for the same courses, such as Ultra Excellence Polytechnic and Brainfill Polytechnic.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
