The Ultra Excellence Poly cut off mark for Accountancy is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics in 2026/2027. Ultra Excellence Polytechnic, Uyo has not published a separate cut-off for ND Accountancy, and I found no departmental figure for any year. I found no school website or admission advert, so the JAMB floor is the figure to plan with.
2027/2028 update: Ultra Excellence Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Ultra Excellence Polytechnic is a private polytechnic in Uyo. JAMB’s polytechnic list, in the brochure reprint I checked, still carries it under an older name, Ultra-Excellence College of Technology (UEC-TECH), Uyo, so look for either name when you register. NBTE’s 2025 Directory line for ND Accountancy there reads: Accredited (first granted 2021; 2025 accreditation, expires 1 October 2030).

Ultra Excellence Poly cut off mark for Accountancy: the figures
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Ultra Excellence Poly figure for Accountancy | No published figure found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic floor at 100 for two years running, and Ultra Excellence has not announced a higher figure for any course. A polytechnic may set a higher mark for itself or for a busy course, so treat 100 as the legal minimum and aim higher if you can.
Safe target score (my advice)
For 2027 I would aim for 120 or more in the UTME for Accountancy at Ultra Excellence Poly. That is my own target, based on how small private polytechnics in Akwa Ibom usually fill their classes; the school publishes no merit list or applicant numbers. If you land between 100 and 120 you can still apply, and your O’level grades and screening will carry more weight.
Ultra Excellence Poly Accountancy subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Accountancy |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics |
| My suggested UTME combination | English, Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts (Commerce also works in place of either) |
| O’level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) | Five credits including English Language (not Literature) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics or Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Typewriting and Shorthand |
| Sittings | Two sittings at most under the standard NBTE rule; the school has not published its own |
| Ultra Excellence Poly remark in the brochure | None found; the base rule applies |
| Interview or practical | None published |
Mathematics is the only fixed subject after Use of English. Economics with Principles of Accounts is the pair I would pick, because ND1 starts with financial accounting and economics, and the WAEC topics carry straight over. Commerce, Government and Geography are also on the list, so a candidate from an arts class who took Government and Commerce is not shut out.
At O’level, English Language must be a credit, and Literature in English does not replace it. Mathematics must also be a credit. A D7 in Mathematics ends an Accountancy application at any polytechnic, however high your UTME score.
Direct Entry and HND
ND entry is through the UTME; there is no Direct Entry route into ND1. After the ND and a year of industrial attachment you can apply for HND Accountancy, or use the ND to start professional accounting exams such as ICAN’s foundation level. ICAN and ANAN set their own entry rules, so check them directly. NBTE’s 2025 Directory lists no HND programme at Ultra Excellence, so plan to do the HND at another polytechnic.
Ultra Excellence Poly screening and how selection works
Ultra Excellence has no website or published screening notice that I could find, so details such as the form price, test format and dates have to come from the school. Small private polytechnics in Uyo usually sell forms at the admissions office, check documents and may run a short test or interview. Ask the office these questions:
- Is ND Accountancy admitting full-time students for 2027/2028, and is it listed for the school on JAMB CAPS?
- What is the current NBTE accreditation status of the course?
- How much is the form, where do I pay, and what is the closing date?
- Is there a written test, and on which subjects?
- What are the acceptance fee and first-year fees, and is there a hostel?
Worked example (illustrative)
Take Aniekan, who wants Accountancy at Ultra Excellence Poly. Aniekan scored 128 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts, and has English, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Accounting, Commerce and Biology in one WAEC sitting.
- JAMB minimum: 128 is 28 above 100, so Aniekan is eligible.
- My safe target: 128 clears my 120 line for Accountancy.
- UTME subjects: Economics and Principles of Accounts are both on the brochure list, with Mathematics fixed.
- O’level: English and Mathematics are credits, and Economics, Financial Accounting (the WAEC name for Principles of Accounts) and Commerce cover the other three.
- School listing: before paying for anything, Aniekan checks that Ultra Excellence Poly shows Accountancy on the JAMB portal.
If the school used a 50:50 aggregate, 128 divided by 8 gives 16 out of 50, and 30 out of 50 at screening would bring the total to 46. That formula is only an illustration. Ultra Excellence Poly has not published one, and small private polytechnics often admit every candidate who meets the rules.
How to apply for Accountancy at Ultra Excellence Poly, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: use English, Mathematics, Economics and Principles of Accounts, and choose Ultra-Excellence College of Technology, Uyo (the JAMB name for Ultra Excellence Polytechnic) as your polytechnic. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. CAPS cannot offer you admission without it.
- Contact the school: visit Ultra Excellence Polytechnic in Uyo, confirm your course is admitting under the name JAMB uses, buy the form at the school and keep every receipt.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing from the bursary, pay only through the channel the school names, and complete medical and departmental registration.
Warning
Ultra Excellence Polytechnic has no official website I could find, so any page, WhatsApp group or agent selling its forms online may have nothing to do with the school. Buy forms only at the school, and remember that JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.
Your chances and my advice
- Check that Accountancy shows under Ultra-Excellence College of Technology or Ultra Excellence Polytechnic on the JAMB portal when you register; I could not open the school’s course list.
- Full NBTE accreditation to 2030 covers a two-year ND that starts in 2027/2028.
- Wikipedia’s list of Nigerian polytechnics places the school at Ikono, while NBTE and JAMB say Uyo. Confirm the campus address before you travel for screening.
- With no HND at the school, look now at which polytechnics take ND holders in your course, so the IT year and HND application follow smoothly.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
What you study in ND Accountancy
ND Accountancy runs for two years under NBTE’s national curriculum, with a SIWES industrial placement. You learn to record transactions, prepare and read financial statements, cost products and services, and handle basic tax and audit work. Most of ND1 is foundation work; ND2 moves into cost accounting, taxation and auditing.
| Area | Typical topics |
|---|---|
| Financial accounting | Double entry, trial balance, final accounts of sole traders, partnerships and companies |
| Cost accounting | Costing methods, overheads, budgeting basics |
| Taxation | Personal income tax and company tax in Nigeria |
| Auditing | Audit planning, internal control, audit reports |
| Supporting courses | Business law, economics, business mathematics, computer applications and communication skills |
Ultra Excellence Poly has not published its own course outline, so the table follows NBTE’s usual ND pattern. Typical first jobs with the ND include accounts clerk, bookkeeper, cashier, payroll officer, audit assistant in a small firm, tax office assistant, or bookkeeping for small businesses on your own account.
Accreditation
NBTE’s 25th Edition Directory of Accredited Programmes (2025), which prints the name as “Ultra Execellence Polytechnic Uyo”, lists ND Accountancy as: Accredited (first granted 2021; 2025 accreditation, expires 1 October 2030). The school’s other NBTE lines are ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Accountancy, Computer Science and Statistics, plus Institutional Administration accredited to 2030.

Sources and updates
The 2026/2027 polytechnic minimum of 100, the 31 December 2026 deadline and JAMB’s warning against admissions outside CAPS come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026; the 2025/2026 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). Programme status is from NBTE’s 25th Edition 2025 Directory of Accredited Programmes. The older JAMB name, Ultra-Excellence College of Technology (UEC-TECH), Uyo, is from a reprint of Chapter 3 of the JAMB brochure; the Ikono location is from Wikipedia’s list of polytechnics in Nigeria. UTME and O’level rules are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure. Safe targets and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when the school publishes a 2027/2028 notice.
