OSISATECH Computer Engineering Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

OSISATECH Computer Engineering cut-off mark for 2027/2028: JAMB’s 100 minimum, OSISATECH’s 140 guidance, UTME subjects, O’level credits, why you should confirm the course is admitting, CAPS steps and backups.

The OSISATECH Computer Engineering cut-off mark starts at 100, JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics, and the official FAQ of Our Saviour Institute of Science and Technology, Enugu says applicants who score 140 and above are likely to be admitted, without a separate figure per course. Computer Engineering is on JAMB’s course list for OSISATECH, so the course can be selected on your JAMB form. One caution sits on top of that: an older list of OSISATECH’s accredited courses leaves Computer Engineering out, so confirm with the school that it is admitting into the course this year before you build your plans around it.

2027/2028 update: OSISATECH cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

This guide covers the official figures, a safe target score, the UTME subjects and O’level credits JAMB lists for polytechnic Computer Engineering, how to check that the course is running, a worked example, the CAPS steps and what the National Diploma involves.

Is OSISATECH still admitting into Computer Engineering?

JAMB’s course list for the school, as reprinted by Myschool, includes Computer Engineering with a link to the engineering section of the polytechnic brochure (Myschool reprint). A MySchoolGist course list and the Wikipedia article on the school also name it. The doubt comes from a schoolings.org article, first published in 2018, that sets out OSISATECH’s NBTE-accredited courses school by school. It lists Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Science Laboratory Technology and Food Science Technology under the School of Technology, but no Computer Engineering. OSISATECH’s own course page could not be opened when I checked.

Being on JAMB’s list means you can choose the course. It does not prove the department has students or current NBTE approval. Before you register for the UTME, ask the OSISATECH admissions office at #1 Ogui Road whether ND Computer Engineering is admitting for the session. If it is not, the backups further down this page use the same UTME subjects, so your preparation is not wasted.

OSISATECH Computer Engineering cut-off mark: the official figures

Two figures matter. The first is JAMB’s. At its 2026 policy meeting JAMB kept the minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics at 100 for 2026/2027 (NAN, 11 May 2026), the same figure it set for 2025/2026 (Nairametrics, 8 July 2025). Below 100 no polytechnic can admit you.

The second is OSISATECH’s own. Its official FAQ page, published in September 2021, says the cut-off is reviewed every year and that, for now, applicants who score 140 and above are likely to be admitted. That line covers all courses; there is no separate figure for Computer Engineering. The school has not posted a newer number, so 140 is the best guide to what OSISATECH expects.

If a blog quotes a different OSISATECH departmental cut-off for Computer Engineering, ask for the school notice behind it. I could not find one.

Safe target score (consultant advice)

I would aim for 150 or more. That is my own planning figure, not an OSISATECH one. It clears the school’s 140 line, and it protects your backups: Computer Engineering at ESPOLY and Electrical/Electronics at IMT are likely to draw more applicants, and 150 keeps both realistic if OSISATECH’s department turns out not to be admitting.

Your UTME scoreWhat it means at OSISATECH
Below 100Not eligible for any polytechnic
100 to 139Eligible on paper, but below OSISATECH’s own 140 guidance
140 to 149Within OSISATECH’s guidance
150 and aboveComfortable at OSISATECH, with Enugu backups open

UTME subject combination for Computer Engineering at OSISATECH

JAMB’s polytechnic brochure entry for Computer Engineering asks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with Use of English compulsory for everyone (brochure entry). Only two schools have UTME remarks: SURE-POLY accepts Mathematics, Physics and any other subject, and Nekede asks for Chemistry. There is no OSISATECH remark, so the standard set applies.

SubjectStatus
Use of EnglishCompulsory
MathematicsCompulsory
PhysicsCompulsory
ChemistryCompulsory

There is no choice to make here, which is useful: the same four subjects also qualify you for OSISATECH’s Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and, with Mathematics and Physics in place, for its Computer Science.

O’level requirements for OSISATECH Computer Engineering

The brochure asks for five credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus any two from Biology or Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics or Commerce. It also states that an O’level credit in English Language is required. OSISATECH’s own admission page says the same about English and Mathematics for every ND applicant and allows no more than two sittings.

RequirementDetail
Number of creditsFive
Compulsory creditsMathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language
Fifth subjectFurther Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology, Geography or Economics
SittingsNo more than two
Exams acceptedWAEC, GCE O’level, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent

The brochure’s O’level remarks name schools such as Yabatech, Ilaro, Fed Poly Ede and Nekede. None of them is OSISATECH, so a pass in English, which RUGIPO accepts, will not do here.

HND and Direct Entry

The brochure’s Direct Entry section for Computer Engineering is blank, and HND entry does not use the UTME. OSISATECH’s admission page asks HND applicants for an ND result from an accredited polytechnic. Since the 2018 accredited list shows no Computer Engineering at OSISATECH at either level, ask before you count on an HND there. Our OSISATECH HND guide has the general rules.

OSISATECH screening and a worked example

OSISATECH’s FAQ page says the school does not currently hold a post-UTME exam, that applicants who passed JAMB and have good O’level results can apply, and that you first present your credentials to the admission officer at the Ogui campus for validation, then pay for the form at Ohha Microfinance Bank, #1 Ogui Road. The fees page lists the form at N10,000. The admission page also says forms are bought at the school, so plan to go in person. The school’s published email for questions is osisatechinstitute@gmail.com.

Without a test, your ranking is likely to rest on your UTME score and your O’level grades, which is why the worked example below uses only those two.

Worked example (illustrative)

Chukwuemeka scored 147 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. His WAEC result, one sitting, reads English C6, Mathematics B2, Physics C4, Chemistry C5 and Further Mathematics C6. He meets every compulsory credit and clears JAMB’s 100 and OSISATECH’s 140.

As an illustration only, using the 50/50 UTME and O’level mix many polytechnics use: his UTME half is 147 divided by 8, which is 18.4. With A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6 and C6 = 5, his grades give 5 + 9 + 7 + 6 + 5 = 32. His illustrative total is 50.4 out of 100. OSISATECH has published no formula. What his numbers do tell him is that three more UTME marks would get him to my 150 target, which matters most for his backups.

How to apply for Computer Engineering at OSISATECH

Do one thing before step 1: ask OSISATECH’s admissions office whether ND Computer Engineering is admitting this session. Then follow these steps.

  1. Create your JAMB profile: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line you will use for JAMB. The reply carries your profile code.
  2. Pick OSISATECH and Computer Engineering: JAMB lists the school as Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agric. & Tech. Choose it at registration, or move to it later with a JAMB change of institution.
  3. Write the UTME: aim for 150 or more, then check your JAMB result.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB accredited centre, and upload both results if you are using two sittings. A school cannot recommend you on CAPS without them.
  5. Validate and buy the form: take your JAMB result and O’level certificates to the admission officer at the Ogui campus, #1 Ogui Road, Enugu, then pay for the form (N10,000 on the 2021 fees page) at Ohha Microfinance Bank.
  6. Accept on CAPS: JAMB’s 2026 rules give you four weeks to accept an offer before it can lapse. Our JAMB CAPS guide shows the screens.
  7. Pay and register: print your JAMB admission letter, pay school fees at Ohha Microfinance Bank and keep every receipt. Your student portal is osisatech.skool-board.com.

JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education, so the current cycle runs until 31 December 2026. If you chose a different course or school on your JAMB form, use JAMB change of course together with change of institution before then.

What OSISATECH charges (older official figures)

OSISATECH’s fees page lists one set of charges for its ND, HND and NCE students, payable at Ohha Microfinance Bank on Ogui Road. The page was last changed in March 2021 and names no session, so treat these as a guide and confirm the current amounts before you pay. The 2021 FAQ adds that OSISATECH charges no acceptance fee; you still accept the offer on JAMB CAPS.

Warning

JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. A full-time ND place at OSISATECH must show on your CAPS page before you pay school fees. Do not pay anyone who offers a place without it.

Your chances and the best backups

If the department is admitting, a first-choice candidate with 140 or more and clean credits in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry should do well, since that meets the school’s own guidance. The bigger risk is the course itself. These are the closest alternatives, all of which use the same UTME subjects:

What you study in ND Computer Engineering

OSISATECH has not published a course outline. NBTE runs the programme nationally as Computer Engineering Technology, and the usual ND content is:

  • Electrical circuits, electronics and digital logic
  • Computer architecture, microprocessors and interfacing
  • Programming for engineers
  • Computer hardware repair and maintenance
  • Engineering mathematics and technical drawing
  • Workshop practice, a project and the general ND courses in communication and entrepreneurship

SIWES, the industrial attachment, sits between the first and second years. Your ND grade (Distinction, Upper Credit, Lower Credit or Pass) decides whether you can move on to an HND.

Duration and accreditation

A full-time ND runs for two years. OSISATECH says NBTE approved it to admit ND students in December 1991, but I found no NBTE record naming Computer Engineering at OSISATECH, and the 2018 accredited list leaves it out. Its accreditation is not confirmed. Ask the department for its NBTE accreditation letter before paying school fees.

Careers

  • Computer and network hardware technician
  • Installation and repair of computers, printers and office equipment
  • Embedded systems and electronics work at technician level
  • HND in Computer Engineering Technology, or Direct Entry into a university engineering degree

For UTME preparation, our JAMB Chemistry syllabus guide covers one of your three core subjects, and the JAMB 2027 dates guide tracks registration.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming JAMB’s list means the course is running: ask OSISATECH first.
  • Writing Biology or Economics in the UTME: OSISATECH has no remark that allows it.
  • Applying with a pass in English: the brochure requires a credit.
  • Using more than two sittings.
  • Paying before the admission shows on CAPS.
