The Maduka University Cyber Security cut off mark is 150 in the UTME. Maduka uses JAMB’s national minimum for universities as its own cut-off, and it has not published a higher figure for Cyber Security or any other department. If you scored 150 or more with the right four subjects, you can apply for Cyber Security at Maduka University for 2027/2028.
2027/2028 update: Maduka University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Cyber Security is a B.Sc. in Maduka’s computing unit and appears on the university’s July 2026 programme list. It is also one of the seven Maduka programmes that the university says earned full NUC accreditation after the October to December 2025 exercise. On JAMB, choose the course titled Cyber Security. Below are the figures, the subjects, my safe target, the application process, reported fees and the CAPS steps.
One thing I could not open myself: Maduka’s course list in the JAMB brochure. Myschool’s copy was not reachable, and Maduka’s website loads nothing readable. A third-party copy of the list (universitycourses.ng, updated March 2026) includes Cyber Security. Even so, search for the course in the JAMB e-brochure or on the registration screen at your CBT centre and make sure Maduka University appears under it before you pay. JAMB’s brochure also has a separate entry called “Cyber Security Science”, which some universities use, so read the title carefully on the screen.

| 2026/2027 | 150 | Maduka cut-off for all UTME applicants, Cyber Security included | Maduka 2026/2027 notice (“as approved for the 2026/2027 session”), reprinted by Myschool, 15 May 2026 |

Maduka has kept to JAMB’s minimum in each cycle since it opened in November 2023. I found no Maduka notice giving Cyber Security a higher figure. Plan with 150 as the entry line and use the safe target below for what to aim at.
Safe target score for Cyber Security at Maduka (my advice)
Maduka has not published these bands. They are my reading, as an admissions adviser, of how a private university’s new computing course fills.
| Your UTME score | My read for Cyber Security at Maduka |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible this session. Look at Maduka’s IJMB or pre-degree route, or rewrite the UTME |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible if Mathematics and Physics were in your UTME |
| 170 to 189 | Comfortable |
| 190 and above | Strong, and high enough to keep public universities such as ESUT open as a backup |
Cyber Security pulls fewer applicants than Computer Science in most Nigerian universities, partly because many candidates have not heard of it as a degree. That works in your favour at Maduka. I would aim for 170 or more in the 2027 UTME. The bigger risk is the subject combination: Physics and Mathematics in the UTME, and Physics with two other sciences at O’level.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Maduka Cyber Security
| Requirement | Cyber Security |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics, and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other science subjects |
| Direct Entry | Two A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject |
| Maduka remark in the JAMB brochure | None seen in Myschool’s reprint of the Cyber Security page |
| Sittings | Not stated by Maduka; one sitting is safest |
The Cyber Security requirements in JAMB’s brochure match Computer Science almost word for word. The only universities with their own remarks on Myschool’s page are federal schools such as FUTA, FUD, BUK and NDA, and FUTA’s insistence on Chemistry does not apply to Maduka. If you want to keep engineering courses open too, sit English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Direct Entry into Cyber Security
Maduka’s adverts say it takes Direct Entry candidates with A-level, OND, NCE or equivalent qualifications. JAMB’s general DE rule for Cyber Security asks for two A-level science passes including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other subject. Some universities on the brochure page also accept ND in Computer Science; Maduka has no remark there, so ask Admissions in writing before you rely on an ND.
How admission works for Cyber Security at Maduka
Maduka has not published a Post-UTME written test or an aggregate formula. Reports of the 2026/2027 notice describe an online application: you open a profile on the admission portal, enter your UTME and O’level details, select the programme and pay a ₦5,000 form fee. Offers then appear on JAMB CAPS.
| Stage | What happens | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Online form on Maduka’s admission portal | Reported from the 2026/2027 notice |
| Form fee | ₦5,000, paid online | Maduka fee schedule (The Vent Republic) |
| Test | None described | Not published |
| Offer | Admission shows on JAMB CAPS | JAMB rule |
| Acceptance | Accept on CAPS, then pay Maduka’s acceptance fee | Acceptance fee ₦50,000 |
Worked example for a Cyber Security applicant
This example is illustrative, since Maduka publishes no aggregate.
Chiamaka scored 171 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Economics. Her O’level has C4 in Mathematics, C5 in Physics, B3 in Biology, C6 in Chemistry and B2 in English from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 171 minus 150 = 21, so she clears the minimum by 21 marks.
- Subjects: Economics is one of the allowed fourth subjects, so her UTME combination is valid for Cyber Security.
- O’level: Physics plus Biology and Chemistry gives her the three sciences JAMB asks for, all at credit.
- My read: she is above my 170 safe line. If her O’level is on CAPS and Maduka is on her JAMB profile, she is well placed.
Emeka scored 230 but took English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, without Mathematics. His score is high, but JAMB’s Cyber Security combination requires Mathematics, so he would need to rewrite with the right subjects or look at a course whose requirements he meets.
Reported fees for Cyber Security at Maduka
| Item | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Tuition and accommodation, each Computing and Engineering programme (2026/2027) | ₦900,000 a session | Maduka fee schedule as reprinted by The Vent Republic, 14 May 2026 |
| Same programmes in 2025/2026 | ₦690,000 a session | AndroidPols, 16 November 2025 (for comparison) |
| Application form | ₦5,000 | Fee schedule (The Vent Republic); paid online |
| Acceptance fee | ₦50,000, non-refundable | Fee schedule (The Vent Republic) |
| Payment plan | Two instalments (60% and 40%) | Fee schedule (The Vent Republic) |
| Feeding | Pay as you eat | Fee schedule (The Vent Republic) |
The 2026/2027 figures are Maduka’s own schedule as reprinted by The Vent Republic, which says the amount covers tuition and accommodation with no hidden charges; I could not open the original on Maduka’s site. Confirm the amounts on the portal before paying. Cyber Security students may also need a laptop that can run virtual machines, which is a cost the fee table does not cover.
How to apply for Cyber Security at Maduka, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: pick Cyber Security as your course, sit English, Mathematics, Physics and one allowed fourth subject, and put Maduka University as your first choice. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before you apply.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. Universities cannot offer you admission on CAPS without it.
- Apply on Maduka’s portal: create an applicant profile, enter your JAMB details and O’level grades, choose Cyber Security, and pay the ₦5,000 form fee online (reported to be through Paystack). Print the application slip.
- Follow up: Maduka has not published a written test, so watch your email and the portal for screening instructions or an invitation, and write to admission@madukauniversity.edu.ng if you hear nothing.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer only when it shows Cyber Security at Maduka. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: pay the ₦50,000 acceptance fee only through Maduka’s portal, then bring your original O’level, JAMB result slip and admission letter for clearance.
Warning
Every genuine university admission in Nigeria appears on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB treats admissions done outside CAPS as illegal. If anyone offers you a Maduka “slot” for money, ignore them. Pay fees only through the university’s own portal invoice.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, so Maduka’s 2026/2027 offers run until that date. If you sat the 2026 UTME and applied, check CAPS now. If you are writing the 2027 UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and our guide to checking your JAMB result and what to do with the score.
Studying Cyber Security at Maduka University
Cyber Security at Maduka is a four-year B.Sc. in the computing unit (sources call it the School of Computing and Engineering or the College of Computing and Informatics). Four years is the normal length for computing degrees in Nigeria; Maduka has not stated the duration on a page I could read. The campus is at Ekwegbe, Igbo-Etiti LGA, on the Enugu to Nsukka road.
Accreditation
Maduka’s press release of 29 July 2026, published through Premium Times and AllAfrica, lists Cyber Security among seven programmes NUC assessed between October and December 2025. All seven got full accreditation, with scores from 84.8% to 97.0%, and the release says the status runs to 2030. I could not open NUC’s own report page for Maduka’s Cyber Security, so this rests on the university’s release.
What you study
- Foundations: programming, mathematics for computing, computer architecture and operating systems, much like first-year Computer Science.

Is Cyber Security at Maduka right for you?
- Choose it if: you like networks, puzzles and how systems fail, and you are comfortable with mathematics and long hours in a lab.
- Think twice if: you want the widest range of computing jobs; Computer Science is broader and shares the same entry requirements.
- Avoid it if: you dropped Physics or Mathematics in your UTME; the course requires both.
