Peaceland University Education and Economics Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Peaceland University takes 150 in the UTME for Education and Economics. See the JAMB subjects (Mathematics is compulsory), O’level, Direct Entry, official fees, accreditation status and CAPS steps.

The Peaceland University Education and Economics cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, the minimum JAMB fixed for all universities for 2026/2027. Peaceland has not released a separate cut-off for Education and Economics, and it has not announced any post-UTME test for its Education programmes. If you scored 150 or more with Economics and Mathematics among your subjects, you can apply.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

The course is on Peaceland’s JAMB list under the name “Education and Economics”, which is what you select on the JAMB portal, and the university’s website lists it in the Faculty of Education as B.Sc.(Ed) Economics. I checked both on 30 October 2026, so it is a current programme.

Peaceland University only began admitting students in the 2023/2024 session, so it has a short history and has never published a departmental cut-off for any course. If a blog shows you a “Peaceland Education and Economics cut-off” of 180 or 200, ask where it came from. I could not find one figure that traces back to the university.

Safe target score for Education and Economics at Peaceland (my advice)

This table is my own judgement as an admissions adviser. Peaceland has not published it.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Education and Economics at Peaceland
Below 150Not eligible for a Peaceland degree this session
150 to 169Eligible. A fair chance if your O’level credits are complete and uploaded
170 to 189Comfortable for Peaceland, and it keeps a state university backup in view
190 and aboveStrong. You could also aim at ESUT or UNN, whose Education courses took 160 in 2026/2027

Education and Economics is not a crowded course at private universities, so 150 is a workable score. My target is 170 or more. That margin covers you if Peaceland’s NUC quota fills, and it lets you keep a state university such as UNN (160 for Social Science Education in 2026/2027) as a backup.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Education and Economics at Peaceland

RequirementEducation and Economics
UTME subjectsUse of English, Economics, Mathematics and one of Geography or Physics, History, Government and Literature in English
O’levelFive credits including English Language, Economics and Mathematics
Direct EntryTwo A level passes in Economics and one other relevant subject, or NCE credit or merit passes in Economics and one other subject
Peaceland remark in the brochureNone
Number of sittingsNot stated by Peaceland; upload every sitting you use

These are JAMB’s brochure lines for Education and Economics as reprinted by Myschool (checked 30 October 2026). Economics and Mathematics are both compulsory in the UTME, and the fourth subject comes from Geography or Physics, History, Government or Literature in English.

Government is the safest fourth subject. It matches this course and Peaceland’s B.Sc. Economics and Political Science, so you stay eligible if CAPS shows a course change. Some universities accept Christian Religious Studies or Commerce in place of the fourth subject, but those are their own waivers and Peaceland is not named in any of them.

At O’level, the remaining two credits are your choice. Government, Commerce, Geography or Financial Accounting fit well.

Direct Entry into Education and Economics

Peaceland has not published separate DE rules. JAMB’s line accepts two A level passes in Economics and one other relevant subject, or NCE credit or merit passes in Economics and one other subject. That makes this one of the easier Education courses for NCE holders: if your NCE is Economics combined with another subject, register for Direct Entry and choose Peaceland.

How Peaceland admits Education and Economics candidates

Peaceland has not published a post-UTME examination for any Education course. The only Peaceland screening test I found in public notices was the one of 18 September 2024, and it covered six health courses only (Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Community Health, Environmental Health and Public Health). For Education, admission so far has been by online application on the university’s portal, followed by a recommendation on JAMB CAPS.

Peaceland’s intake is still capped by the admission quota the NUC gives it. At its second matriculation, the Pro-Chancellor, Felix Ugwuozor, asked the NUC to raise that quota because qualified applicants were being turned away (TheCable). Once you pass 150, applying early, a complete O’level and a higher UTME score all help.

Worked example

Peaceland has no published aggregate formula, so I compare each score with the 150 minimum and my 170 target. The candidates below are illustrations.

  1. Amarachi scored 155 with Economics, Mathematics and Government, and has credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Government and Commerce. She is 5 above the minimum. She qualifies, and I would tell her to apply early.
  2. Obinna scored 178 with Economics, Mathematics and Geography. He is 28 above the minimum and also clears UNN’s 160. He could ask Peaceland about B.Sc. Economics if he wants a non-teaching route.
  3. Ngozi scored 168 with Economics, Government and CRS and no Mathematics in the UTME. JAMB’s main line needs Mathematics, so her combination does not match even though her score does. She should ask Peaceland before applying, or register Mathematics in the next UTME.

Peaceland University Education and Economics school fees

Peaceland’s own fee page lists one structure for the Department of Health and Human Kinetics and all other Education departments. Education and Economics falls under it.

Item (Faculty of Education)100 level200 level300 level
Tuition₦70,500₦70,500₦70,500
Other fees₦87,500₦74,500₦74,500
Accreditation charge₦42,000₦55,000₦55,000
Total for the session₦200,000₦200,000₦200,000

The 100 level “other fees” of ₦87,500 already include the admission form, processing and acceptance charges:

Part of the 100 level “other fees”Amount
Admission form (application)₦10,000
Admission processing₦5,000
Acceptance fee₦10,000
Matriculation₦7,000
Online course registration and ICT₦12,500
Health insurance₦20,000
E-library, handbook, ID card, utility, examination, sports, faculty and departmental fees₦23,000 together

So Education and Economics costs ₦200,000 at 100 level, while B.Sc. Economics in Peaceland’s Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences costs ₦320,000 at 100 level and ₦390,000 at 200 level. The schedule says other fees and the accreditation charge go in the first instalment, and tuition is split 60% and 40% across the second and third instalments. The page does not name a session or list hostel for Education, so confirm both on the portal before you pay.

How to apply for Education and Economics at Peaceland, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the right course: pick Peaceland University and the course named Education and Economics with English, Economics, Mathematics and one of Geography or Physics, History, Government and Literature in English. If you already chose another school first, do a JAMB change of institution before you apply.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre and include every sitting you want counted. Without it the university cannot recommend you.
  4. Apply on Peaceland’s portal: create an account on the e-admission page linked from peacelanduni.edu.ng (apply.peacelanduni.edu.ng), fill in your UTME details and O’level, pick Education and Economics and pay the ₦10,000 form fee shown on the fee schedule. Print your slip.
  5. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer before you pay the university anything else. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  6. Pay acceptance and fees: the acceptance fee is ₦10,000 and processing ₦5,000, both inside the first instalment. Pay only through the student portal or the Admissions Office, as the university’s website instructs.

Warning

Peaceland University and Peaceland College of Education, Enugu are different institutions with different portals. Make sure you are applying to the university, and pay nobody who claims to be an admission agent: the university says it has authorised none.

JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, and admissions done outside CAPS are illegal. If your offer has not appeared on CAPS close to that date, contact the Admissions Office through the official website.

Studying Education and Economics at Peaceland University

Education and Economics is a four-year degree that pairs Economics content with education courses and teaching practice. It prepares you to teach Economics and related subjects in secondary schools. Peaceland has not published its curriculum, so the outline below describes the degree as Nigerian universities normally run it.

Accreditation

  • NUC accreditation: full, as announced by Peaceland. After NUC’s October/November 2025 exercise, Peaceland announced full accreditation for 17 programmes, and Education and Economics (Economics Education) is one of them (reported by Uniblog NG on 23 April 2026; the university’s own post of 1 May 2026 names Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Accountancy “and several others”). I found no NUC report page naming the university for it, so the status rests on the university’s announcement.
  • Do not mix it up with the college: NUC reports that mention “Peaceland” for Education degrees belong to Peaceland College of Education, Enugu, whose degree programmes are affiliated to Abia State University. They say nothing about Peaceland University. JAMB’s 2026 NCE guide also stopped all 100 level and 200 level degree admission into colleges of education from 2026/2027, so a degree place now has to come through a university such as Peaceland.
  • What to ask: a copy of the NUC accreditation letter for B.Sc.(Ed) Economics if your sponsor wants written proof.

What you study

  • Economics: microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics for economists, statistics, money and banking, public finance, development economics and the Nigerian economy.
  • Education: philosophy and sociology of education, educational psychology, curriculum studies, measurement and evaluation, and methods of teaching Economics.
  • Practice: microteaching, teaching practice in a secondary school and a research project.

Careers

Most graduates teach Economics, Commerce or Civic Education in secondary schools after registering with the TRCN. Others go into banking and microfinance, cooperative societies, the civil service, research and data roles, or study for an M.Ed. or M.Sc. Economics. Because the degree carries Economics content, you can also sit professional exams such as those in banking or accounting later.

Another Enugu option is the UNN Social Science Education cut-off mark, which took 160 in 2026/2027. If you are moving schools after the UTME, read our JAMB change of institution guide first.

Mistakes Education and Economics applicants make

  • Leaving Mathematics out of the UTME: the brochure requires Economics and Mathematics.
  • Missing an Economics credit: Economics is a named O’level credit for this course.
  • Picking B.Sc. Economics by mistake: the two programmes sit in different faculties with different fees.
  • Paying outside the portal: Peaceland says it has no admission agents.
