There is no UTME cut-off mark for NCE programmes at FCE Eha-Amufu under the current rules. At the 2026 policy meeting on admissions (Abuja, 11 May 2026), the Federal Government and JAMB exempted NCE candidates with at least four O’level credit passes from sitting the UTME. You still register with JAMB, and Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu still admits you through JAMB’s CAPS, but your UTME score is no longer the entry test. The last numeric minimum that applied was 100, JAMB’s national minimum for colleges of education in 2025/2026.
2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and the NCE entry process usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the details on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notices (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.
This page covers what replaced the cut-off: the O’level rules, JAMB’s special NCE registration (with the exact fees), the college’s screening, a worked example, the list of NCE combinations reported for Eha-Amufu, and the CAPS steps. Where FCE Eha-Amufu has not published something, I say so, because a lot of what circulates about this college online is recycled from older years.

You will still see pages titled “FCE Eha-Amufu cut off mark 2026/2027 is 100”. One of them was first published in 2018 and later relabelled; its O’level section even names a different college. I would not plan around any of those numbers. For NCE, the question that decides your admission now is whether your O’level results qualify you, and whether the college picks you from its applicants.
Why the UTME was dropped for NCE
Education Minister Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa announced the change at the policy meeting he chaired on 11 May 2026. The aim was to get more qualified candidates into teacher training. JAMB then issued a registration guideline in June 2026 and, on 23 July 2026, its spokesperson Fabian Benjamin told candidates there was no requirement to sit the annual UTME for NCE. Candidates only need to visit a JAMB centre or a college’s registration centre with their O’level credentials.
The same June guideline made two more changes that affect Eha-Amufu applicants directly:
- NCE is now the only way in: from the 2026/2027 session, no candidate is admitted at 100 or 200 level into any college of education except through the NCE route.
- No affiliated degree admissions: JAMB said no admission into any affiliated degree programme in any college of education from 2026/2027. FCE Eha-Amufu’s B.Ed programmes have been run in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), so this affects candidates who wanted a degree at Eha-Amufu. Affected degree candidates were offered a free change of institution or a move to the parent university.
- One mode of entry at a time: choosing NCE suspends any UTME or Direct Entry process you have running.
These rules came in for 2026/2027. JAMB holds its policy meeting every year, so check the 2027 meeting’s decisions before you register; nothing published so far says the exemption ends.
O’level requirements for NCE at FCE Eha-Amufu
The national rule is a minimum of four credit passes. The college’s own advert, as reprinted by education blogs (o3schools, January 2026), adds detail I could not confirm on an official college page:
| Route | What is asked (college advert reprint, unverified) |
|---|---|
| SSCE/GCE (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB) | Four credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, with two of them relevant to the course you choose |
| Grade II Teacher’s Certificate (TC II) | Credit or merit in four subjects |
| Technical and vocational certificates | RSA, City and Guilds Intermediate or Federal Craft Training Certificate with four credits or merits, for vocational and technical courses |
| Other | Associateship Certificate in Education |
| Selection | Pass the college’s selection process |
English and Mathematics are the two credits that most often trip people up. Some NCE combinations, such as the language and arts ones, have accepted a pass in Mathematics at other colleges, but Eha-Amufu has not published any such waiver, so assume you need both.
Is there a safe target if there is no cut-off?
This is my advice as an admissions adviser, not a college rule. Since there is no score to beat, compete on the strength of your O’level:
| Your O’level profile | My read for FCE Eha-Amufu NCE |
|---|---|
| Fewer than four credits, or no credit in English | Not eligible for NCE; consider the college’s Pre-NCE programme (details not verified) or resit |
| Four credits including English and Mathematics, but subjects unrelated to your course | Eligible on paper, but weak for that course; pick a combination that matches your credits |
| Four or five credits in one sitting, including English, Mathematics and two course subjects | Solid |
| Five or more credits, B grades in the course subjects, one sitting | Strong; the profile I would aim for |
NCE combinations reported at FCE Eha-Amufu
FCE Eha-Amufu’s official course list was not reachable when I checked. The table below combines schoolings.org’s list (first published 2018, updated 2020), o3schools’ 2026 list of about 49 combinations, and the course areas on the college’s Wikipedia page. Treat it as a guide and confirm your exact combination on JAMB’s registration portal before paying. The grouping into schools follows the usual NCCE structure and is not confirmed for Eha-Amufu.
| School (usual grouping) | Combinations reported |
|---|---|
| Sciences | Biology/Integrated Science; Chemistry/Integrated Science; Chemistry/Mathematics; Integrated Science/Mathematics; Integrated Science/Physics; Mathematics/Physics; Mathematics/Social Studies; Computer Education with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Music |
| Languages | English (double major); English with French, Hausa, Igbo, Music, Social Studies or Yoruba; French with Social Studies, Igbo or Music; Hausa and Yoruba pairings; Igbo pairings |
| Arts and Social Sciences | Social Studies (double major); CRS with English, Igbo, Social Studies or Music; Music (double major); Music/Social Studies |
| Vocational and Technical | Agricultural Science; Business Education; Home Economics; Fine and Applied Arts (all double major) |
| Education | Physical and Health Education (double major) |
| Early Childhood and Primary | Primary Education Studies (double major) |
We have separate guides for the science groups: Biology Education (NCE), Chemistry Education (NCE), Mathematics and Physics (NCE) and Integrated Science (NCE).
How to apply for NCE at FCE Eha-Amufu, step by step
These steps follow JAMB’s own NCE and ND registration flow for 2026/2027. Every college of education has a JAMB registration centre (IPRC) on campus, so you can register at Eha-Amufu itself or at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre.
- Get an O’level verification code: buy it from your exam body’s verification site. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two, and the two sittings can be from different exam bodies (WAEC and NECO, for example).
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Create or open your e-Facility account: use the profile code at efacility.jamb.gov.ng if you do not already have a profile.
- Register for NCE at a CBT centre, PRC or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, present your verification code, choose your NCE course (the exact combination you want) and pick three Colleges of Education. Put Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as your first choice, because your registration goes to your first-choice college.
- Upload your O’level results: the centre uploads them and captures your photograph and fingerprints. If your results are not out, mark Awaiting Results and upload them as soon as they are released. The college cannot recommend you until they are uploaded.
- Do the college’s own screening if it calls for one: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its 2026/2027 screening notice in any source I could reach. Watch the college’s announcements and pay any form fee only through the college portal.
- College recommends you on CAPS: the Admission Officer proposes you and the Provost recommends you to JAMB’s CAPS, which then checks your O’level against the exam body’s records.
- Accept the offer on CAPS and print your admission letter: log in to e-Facility, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept quickly; JAMB withdraws offers not accepted within four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and school charges, then clear: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its acceptance fee officially. One blog quotes ₦5,000 through Remita; treat that as unconfirmed and pay only after generating an invoice on the college’s own portal.
What the JAMB NCE registration costs
| What you pay | Amount | Paid where |
|---|---|---|
| O’level verification code (one sitting) | ₦1,500 | Exam body’s verification site (WAEC: buyresultsverificationcode.waeconline.org.ng) |
| O’level verification code (two sittings) | ₦2,000 | Either exam body’s platform |
| JAMB NCE application fee (new applicants) | ₦3,500 | JAMB portal, at a CBT centre or the college’s IPRC |
| CBT/IPRC registration charge | ₦700 | Same centre |
| 2026 UTME candidates converting to NCE | ₦700 only (no ₦3,500) | Same centre |
If you sat the 2026 UTME and chose a college of education as first choice, JAMB moved your details to that college automatically. You only buy the verification code and pay the ₦700 charge to update your record.
Warning
Every genuine FCE Eha-Amufu admission appears on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said that any admission not processed through CAPS is illegal. Nobody can sell you an NCE “slot”. Pay JAMB fees only on the JAMB portal at a registration centre, and college fees only through an invoice generated on the college’s own portal.
Does FCE Eha-Amufu still run screening?
JAMB’s flow leaves the selection to the college: its Admission Officer proposes candidates and the Provost recommends them on CAPS. How Eha-Amufu chooses for 2026/2027 has not been published in any notice I could find. In past years, blog reprints of the college’s notices described an online screening form:
- Create a profile: on the college portal.
- Generate a Remita invoice: and pay at a bank.
- Fill the form: upload a passport photograph and enter your JAMB details, O’level results and date of birth (birth certificate).
- Print the acknowledgement: and keep it for clearance.
The fee and dates for those forms were not given. Blogs name fceehaamufu.com and fceehaamufu.edu.ng as the college’s sites; I could not confirm either as the official address, so get the link from the college’s notice boards or from people already studying there. One blog says the acceptance fee is ₦5,000 through Remita. That is unconfirmed.
Worked example: is this candidate eligible?
This is an illustration of how the rules apply. The college has not published a scoring formula, so there is no aggregate to calculate.
Ngozi wants Biology/Integrated Science. Her May/June 2026 WAEC: English C6, Mathematics C5, Biology B3, Chemistry C4, Agricultural Science B2, Physics D7, Civic Education C6.
- Credit count: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Civic Education are credits (C6 or better). That is six, above the four needed.
- English and Mathematics: both credits. Eligible.
- Course subjects: Biology and Chemistry are credits, so two relevant subjects are covered.
- Cost to register (new applicant, one sitting): ₦1,500 + ₦3,500 + ₦700 = ₦5,700 in JAMB-side fees, before any college form.
- If she had used two sittings: ₦2,000 + ₦3,500 + ₦700 = ₦6,200.
Emeka has English C6 and Mathematics D7 with credits in three other subjects. He does not meet the English and Mathematics condition in the college’s advert, so I would not advise him to pay for registration until he has a Mathematics credit.
Your chances and my advice
- The UTME exemption widens the pool: more candidates now qualify for NCE with just their O’level, so good grades in your course subjects matter more than before.
- Choose a combination your credits support: a credit in Biology with nothing in Chemistry or Physics is a weaker case for a science pairing than for, say, Integrated Science with Biology.
- Make Eha-Amufu your first choice: your NCE registration goes to the first-choice college.
- Do not leave Awaiting Results unresolved: the college cannot recommend you until the results are uploaded.
- Mind the calendar: colleges of education had until 31 December 2026 to finish 2026/2027 admissions.
About Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu
The college is in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State. It started on 21 February 1981 under the old Anambra State, moved to Eha-Amufu that August, and was taken over by the Federal Government in April 1993. It appears on the NCCE list of accredited colleges as a federal college of education with status “open”. The NCCE list does not show accreditation programme by programme, so the accreditation status of individual combinations is not confirmed here.
A House of Representatives bill to upgrade the college to a Federal University of Education has passed second reading, according to Voice of Nigeria. I found no record of a third reading, Senate passage or presidential assent, so it remains a college of education awarding the NCE.
What an NCE leads to
- Duration: three years, full time.
- Teaching: the NCE is the minimum qualification for teaching in Nigerian basic education schools, so most graduates teach in primary and junior secondary schools.
- A degree later: NCE holders can apply to universities through JAMB Direct Entry for B.Ed and related degrees.
If you want a university instead, read our JAMB change of institution guide and when JAMB 2027 registration starts.
FCE Eha-Amufu NCE admission: frequently asked questions
Do I need JAMB to study NCE at FCE Eha-Amufu? You need to register with JAMB, but you do not need to sit the UTME if you have at least four O’level credits. JAMB still processes your admission on CAPS.
What is FCE Eha-Amufu cut off mark for 2026/2027? There is no UTME cut-off for NCE in 2026/2027 because of the exemption. The last national minimum for colleges of education was 100, in 2025/2026.
Can I apply to FCE Eha-Amufu with awaiting result? Yes. JAMB lets you register with Awaiting Results, but the college cannot recommend you for admission until your results are uploaded.
Does FCE Eha-Amufu still offer degree programmes? JAMB’s June 2026 guideline stopped admissions into affiliated degree programmes in all colleges of education from 2026/2027, and Eha-Amufu’s degrees have been affiliated to UNN. New candidates should apply for NCE or go to the university directly.
Sources and updates
The UTME exemption for NCE candidates with four credits, the 31 December 2026 admission deadline for colleges of education, the four-week CAPS acceptance window and the minimum age come from reports of the 2026 policy meeting of 11 May 2026 by the News Agency of Nigeria, VON, ICIR and TheNigeriaLawyer. The registration steps, fees, the end of affiliated degree admissions and the NCE-only entry rule come from JAMB’s NCE/ND special registration flow (June 2026), also reported by Daily Trust on 21 June 2026. Fabian Benjamin’s statement of 23 July 2026 is from Legit.ng. The 2025/2026 minimum of 100 is JAMB’s figure as reported by Nairametrics (8 July 2025). The college’s status is from the NCCE accredited colleges list and the upgrade bill from Voice of Nigeria. History is from the college’s Wikipedia page. The O’level wording, screening steps, acceptance fee and course list are from blog reprints (o3schools, January 2026; schoolings.org) and are unofficial. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when FCE Eha-Amufu or JAMB publishes 2027/2028 details.
