UNIUYO Human Anatomy Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

UNIUYO’s minimum for Human Anatomy is 150, first choice only, but places go on merit well above that. See my safe target score, the JAMB subjects (Physics, not Mathematics), O’level, DE and screening steps.

The UNIUYO cut off mark for Human Anatomy is 150 in the UTME, and that is the figure 2027 candidates should plan with. The University of Uyo set 150 as the minimum for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening, and only for candidates who chose UNIUYO as their first choice. Human Anatomy is in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, part of UNIUYO’s College of Health Sciences, and UNIUYO did not publish a separate figure for it.

2027/2028 update: UNIUYO cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

UNIUYO does not publish a departmental cut-off for Human Anatomy or for any other course. The 150 is a gate into screening, and the department then fills its places on merit, so the score of the last person admitted sits above 150 and changes every year. My safe target score for Human Anatomy at UNIUYO is 250 or more; that is my own advice, explained below, and it is not a UNIUYO figure. Many Anatomy applicants are candidates who also want Medicine, so the course is busier than its size suggests.

The 150 floor applied in both recent sessions, with the first-choice rule. Anatomy is not on the same level as Medicine, but it fills well above 150 because it collects strong science candidates.

Safe target score for Human Anatomy at UNIUYO (my advice)

This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. UNIUYO has never published these bands, so treat them as planning numbers.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Human Anatomy at UNIUYO
Below 150Not eligible for UNIUYO screening in any course
150 to 209Eligible to apply, but a Human Anatomy place is unlikely; you may be offered a related course instead
210 to 229A fair chance, helped by good O’level grades
230 to 249Good chance
250 and aboveStrong. This is the range I would aim for.

Anatomy at UNIUYO collects candidates who missed Medicine, Nursing or MLS, which is why I set the safe target well above the floor. For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 230, ideally 250, and pair it with clean O’level credits in the subjects listed below.

Merit, catchment and the federal quota

UNIUYO is a federal university, so it admits under the federal guidelines that JAMB applies: 45% of places on merit, 35% for catchment states and 20% for educationally less developed states. UNIUYO has not published which states it treats as its catchment in any source I reached. In practice, a candidate who misses the merit list can still be picked on catchment or ELDS, which is one reason two people with the same score can get different results.

UTME subject combination and O’level requirements for Human Anatomy at UNIUYO

RequirementHuman Anatomy at UNIUYO
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (GCE also accepted by most universities); confirm on the portal
SittingsJAMB’s brochure gives no UNIUYO sitting rule for this course; one sitting is safer, and many health faculties prefer it
Direct EntryTwo A level passes from Biology, Chemistry and Physics, plus the UTME requirements. No UNIUYO-specific DE remark
Other requirementNo course test or interview is mentioned in the 2026/2027 notice; the College may still hold clearance checks

JAMB’s Human Anatomy page names only UNICAL, FUD and FUTA in its remarks, so UNIUYO follows the general line: Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the UTME, with no option to swap Physics for Mathematics. Some guides print “Physics or Mathematics” for Anatomy; that is not what JAMB’s line says.

Basic Studies: another way into Human Anatomy

UNIUYO also runs a one-year Basic Studies programme that feeds all its faculties. The 2026/2027 advert, signed by the Registrar, Mrs Blossom E. Okorie, asks for five credits including English and Mathematics plus three relevant subjects at not more than two sittings, says no JAMB score is required, and lets successful students move into 200 level through JAMB Direct Entry if they meet the course criteria. The form cost ₦15,500, and admission is usually through a CBT screening test. Health courses take few students through this route, so ask the College of Health Sciences how many Basic Studies students it moves into 200 level before you rely on it.

How UNIUYO Post-UTME screening works

The 2026/2027 notice was titled “Sale of Admissions form for 2026/2027 Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening Exercise”. It opened screening to UTME candidates with 150 or more who picked UNIUYO first, and to Direct Entry candidates who picked UNIUYO first in JAMB DE.

UNIUYO’s notice calls the process a “screening exercise” and says nothing about a written or CBT test for regular candidates, so I can’t tell you there is a test or that there isn’t. Prepare as if there will be one, using the JAMB syllabus for your four subjects.

Worked example for a Human Anatomy candidate

UNIUYO has not published how it ranks candidates, so the useful calculation is the gap between your score, the 150 minimum and the safe target.

Take Imaobong Etim, who scored 238 with B2 in English, B3 in Mathematics, B3 in Physics, B2 in Chemistry and A1 in Biology from one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 238 minus 150 = 88. Imaobong clears UNIUYO’s minimum by 88 marks.
  2. Against my safe target: 250 minus 238 = 12. Imaobong is 12 marks short of the score I would call strong, but inside my good-chance band.
  3. O’level check: all five required credits from one sitting, on CAPS.
  4. What I would advise: at 238 she is in my good-chance band. If UNIUYO offers Physiology or Medical Biochemistry instead through Transfer Approval, she should weigh it.

Kingsley Okon scored 196 with C5 in Physics and C6 in Chemistry from two sittings. 196 minus 150 = 46, so Kingsley can apply. He clears the floor easily but sits well below the merit range I expect. A related science course is the realistic offer at that score.

Some Nigerian universities rank candidates with a 50:50 aggregate: UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus the screening score scaled to 50. UNIUYO has not published this or any formula, so this is only an illustration. On that method, Imaobong’s 238 becomes 29.75, and a 64% screening score adds 32, for an aggregate of 61.75 out of 100.

How to apply for Human Anatomy at UNIUYO, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME with UNIUYO first: pick Human Anatomy (listed by JAMB as “Human Anatomy”) with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If UNIUYO ended up as your second choice, do a JAMB change of institution before UNIUYO opens its form.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at an accredited CBT centre and check that every subject and grade shows correctly on your JAMB profile.
  4. Create an account on the UNIUYO portal: go to admissions.uniuyo.edu.ng, register with your details and verify the account.
  5. Pay ₦2,000 with Remita: generate the RRR on the portal and pay it; keep the receipt.
  6. Complete the form and upload documents: fill every section, upload the requested documents as PDF files, then print the 2026/2027 Screening Exercise Slip.
  7. Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept within the window JAMB gives you.
  8. Pay acceptance and do clearance: UNIUYO has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached, so confirm the amount on the portal before you pay anything.

Warning

Every genuine UNIUYO offer appears on JAMB CAPS. Ignore anyone selling “slots” for Human Anatomy or promising to raise your screening result for a fee, and pay only through the Remita RRR generated on the UNIUYO portal.

JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities; that date has now passed. Supplementary or late lists can still show up on CAPS, so if you applied, keep checking your status. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains what each status means.

In 2023/2024 UNIUYO ran a supplementary admission for candidates who had registered for its screening but missed their first-choice course, with a floor of 140. It offered limited vacancies in nine faculties (Agriculture, Arts, Management Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Science, Social Sciences, Education, and Vocational Education, Library and Information Science). The College of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmacy were not on the list, so that exercise gave no second route into Human Anatomy. Plan to win the place in the main exercise, and keep a related course in mind in case UNIUYO offers you one on CAPS.

Studying Human Anatomy at UNIUYO

Human Anatomy is a B.Sc. course in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, which UNIUYO’s faculty page places under the College of Health Sciences. Basic medical science degrees in Nigeria usually run for four years; UNIUYO has not confirmed the length in sources I reached.

Accreditation

I could not find an NUC accreditation report that names Human Anatomy at UNIUYO, so its status is not confirmed here. The MDCN lists UNIUYO’s College of Health Sciences as a fully accredited medical school, but that covers Medicine, not the B.Sc. Anatomy programme. Ask the department for its latest NUC result before you pay acceptance.

What you study

  • Gross anatomy: dissection-based study of the whole body by regions.
  • Microscopic anatomy: histology and cell biology.
  • Development and neuroanatomy: embryology, neuroanatomy and genetics.
  • Applied areas: radiological, clinical and forensic anatomy, plus a final-year project.

Careers after Human Anatomy

  • Research and laboratory roles in anatomy, histology and pathology units
  • Teaching anatomy after postgraduate study
  • Forensic science, embalming and mortuary science roles
  • Graduate entry into Medicine at universities that accept it, and pharmaceutical sales

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus. If you want a second federal option in the South-South, see our UNICAL cut-off mark guide.

Mistakes that cost Human Anatomy applicants a UNIUYO place

  • Treating 150 as the admission score: it only lets you into screening.
  • Leaving UNIUYO as second choice: the 2026/2027 notice screened first-choice candidates.
  • Mathematics in place of Physics in the UTME: JAMB’s line for Human Anatomy is Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Ignoring Transfer Approval: Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry offers often move between related courses.
  • O’level missing on CAPS: admission cannot be processed without it.
  • Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: the acceptance fee and clearance at UNIUYO are separate steps.

If you are writing the UTME again in 2027, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and how to do a JAMB change of institution.
