The TCU Neeley MBA is a 21-month, 54-credit full-time programme at Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business in Fort Worth, Texas. U.S. News ranks it No. 60 in its 2026 Best Business Schools list. The list price is high, about $141,810 for the whole programme, but Neeley says more than half of its full-time students receive full-tuition scholarships, and international applicants are considered automatically.
Your Deadline is 1 November 2026 for Round 1, and 1 March 2027 is the last round open to anyone who needs a student visa. The GMAT, GRE and Executive Assessment are optional. The English bar is high: TOEFL iBT 100 or IELTS 7.0. This guide covers the TCU Neeley MBA requirements, acceptance rate, tuition, scholarships, salaries and how to prepare the application.

TCU Neeley MBA ranking
U.S. News ranked the Neeley full-time MBA No. 60 in its 2026 edition, released on 7 April 2026, tied with Oklahoma State Spears and Fordham Gabelli. Poets&Quants, which combines several rankings, has Neeley at No. 49 for 2025-2026, a steady climb from No. 68 in 2021-2022.
Neeley’s own page cites Bloomberg Businessweek (2025), which rated it the No. 1 full-time MBA in Texas for networking and entrepreneurship. I would weigh the funding and the Dallas-Fort Worth job market more heavily than the rank.
TCU Neeley MBA acceptance rate and class profile
Neeley’s pages describe the programme but do not post a full class profile. The table uses Poets&Quants data: acceptance and yield from its August 2026 analysis of the top 100 U.S. programmes, and the profile figures from its Neeley school page, which does not give a class year.
| Measure | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Acceptance rate, 2025 intake | 27.4% | Poets&Quants, Aug 2026 |
| Acceptance rate, 2024 intake | 20.2% | Poets&Quants, Aug 2026 |
| Acceptance rate, 2023 intake | 22.6% | Poets&Quants, Aug 2026 |

| International students | 32% | Poets&Quants profile |
| Women | 31% | Poets&Quants profile |
| Average work experience | About 4 years | Neeley admission FAQ |
A 27% admit rate makes Neeley more selective than most schools ranked near it, and the 74% yield means most admitted students take their seat, partly because of the scholarships. About one student in three is international, so you will not be the only one in the room.
TCU Neeley MBA requirements for international students
- An online application with application essays. Neeley does not post the prompts or the fee on its public pages; they appear inside the application.
- A resume showing your professional experience and achievements.
- Contact details for up to three professional recommenders. Neeley says no letters are required at the application stage.
- Transcripts from every institution you attended. Upload a scan with the application; official copies are required only if you are admitted. Non-English transcripts need a certified translation.
- Basic maths: college algebra or the equivalent with a grade of C or better.
- A four-year bachelor’s degree (16 years of formal education). Neeley gives country rules for China and India; check the FAQ if you have a three-year degree.
- Proof of English, unless waived.
- An interview, by invitation only.
Neeley recommends a WES evaluation of foreign transcripts and also accepts other NACES members, and admissions may ask for one if staff do not recognise your university. After admission you send financial documents, a passport copy and an international scholar form so TCU can issue the I-20.
Should you take the GMAT or GRE?
Tests are optional for all applicants. Without a score, Neeley judges your readiness through transcripts, work experience and other evidence of quantitative ability. I would still take the GMAT or GRE if your degree is from a university the committee is unlikely to know, or if your maths grades were weak. Neeley says awards depend on the application and interview, and a strong score near the 650 median gives the committee one more reason to fund you.
English requirements
| Test | Minimum |
|---|---|
| TOEFL iBT | 100 |
| IELTS | 7.0 |
| PTE | 68 |
| Duolingo | 130 |
These are higher than most schools ranked near Neeley. TCU waives the test if you completed three years of undergraduate study or a graduate degree in the U.S., worked in the U.S. for at least two years, or earned an English-taught undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in an English-speaking country. TCU’s examples are Canada, the UK, Australia and India. Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya are not named, so email the graduate office before you rely on the waiver.
TCU Neeley MBA deadlines 2026-2027
| Round | Deadline | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | 1 November 2026 | Best chance at scholarships |
| Round 2 | 1 March 2027 | Final round for visa-seeking students |
| Round 3 | 1 May 2027 | Not open to visa-seeking students |
| Round 4 | 1 June 2027 | Space available; not open to visa-seeking students |
Neeley prints these dates without a year; the years above follow the August 2027 intake. Admitted international students must attend International Student Orientation in early August. Neeley strongly encourages early applications because scholarships are awarded as the class fills.
Round 1 closes soon
Round 1 closes on 1 November 2026. If you cannot finish your essays and English test in time, aim for Round 2 on 1 March 2027, which is the last round for anyone who needs an F-1 visa.
How to apply, step by step
- Book English first: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or Duolingo, since the 100 / 7.0 bar may need a retake.
- Decide on a test: take the GMAT or GRE if it strengthens your case; otherwise put the time into essays.
- Prepare transcripts: scan them, arrange certified translations, and consider a WES evaluation.
- Update your resume: one page, with results and numbers for each role.
- Choose recommenders: up to three professional contacts who will respond quickly if Neeley reaches out.
- Open the application: start it on the TCU Neeley graduate application page, read the essay prompts, then draft.
- Submit by your round: 1 November 2026 or 1 March 2027 for visa applicants.
- Interview if invited: prepare for questions on goals, teamwork and why Fort Worth.
- After admission: send financial documents, passport and the international scholar form for your I-20.
How to write the TCU Neeley MBA essays
Neeley lists “application essays” as required but publishes the prompts and word limits only inside the online application. Open your application early so you know exactly what is asked. While you wait, prepare material on the three topics MBA essays most often cover:
- Career goals: what you want to do right after the MBA and later, and why now. Tie it to one of Neeley’s eight optional specialisations (analytics, supply chain management, corporate finance, brand management, energy, entrepreneurship, consulting or investments).
- Why Neeley: concrete features such as Neeley & Associates consulting projects, the $1.75 million Educational Investment Fund run by students, case competitions or study abroad.
- Who you are: a story about leadership, a setback, or what you bring to a small cohort of about 70.
Sample opening, for illustration: “In 2023 I led a four-person team that moved our bank’s loan approvals in Accra from paper to a shared tracker, and approval time fell from nine days to four. I want to spend the next decade on this kind of operations work in banking, and Neeley’s supply chain and consulting tracks, with live Neeley & Associates projects, are the most direct route I have found.”
Keep to the word limits exactly, write in plain English, and let one example carry each essay.
Interview
Interviews are by invitation. Neeley says the interview evaluates both admission and scholarship potential, so it affects how much funding you get. It does not publish the format. Prepare a two-minute walk through your resume, your short and long-term goals, why TCU, a teamwork example and a question for the interviewer. If it is held by video, test your connection and camera the day before.
What the admissions committee looks for
- About four years of work with progression; there is no minimum, but the class averages four.
- Evidence you can handle the quantitative core, from grades, a test or your job.
- Communication skills: Neeley says international students must converse easily, work in teams and read large amounts of material quickly.
- Clear goals that match Neeley’s specialisations and the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
- Leadership potential, which also drives merit scholarships.
TCU Neeley MBA tuition and cost of attendance
Neeley charges $2,315 per credit hour plus a $4,200 programme fee each fall and spring semester. Its tuition page gives an estimated total programme cost of $141,810 and notes that this does not include annual tuition increases. TCU’s financial aid office uses the same $2,315 rate for 2026-2027.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Tuition per credit hour | $2,315 |
| Full-time MBA fee | $4,200 per fall and spring semester |
| Estimated programme tuition and fees (54 hours) | $141,810 |
| Books and materials (Neeley estimate) | $2,500 to $3,000 |
| Average food and housing, 2026-27 (TCU graduate budget) | $19,968 per year |
| Travel (TCU graduate budget) | $1,340 per year |
| Personal costs (TCU graduate budget) | $4,568 per year |
Costs not covered by a full-tuition scholarship
- Housing and food, about $19,968 a year in TCU’s graduate budget.
- Health insurance, which TCU’s graduate budget does not list.
- Books, a laptop (students must have one) and travel home.
- Programme fees, unless your award covers them. Neeley says Dean’s Scholarships cover fees as well as tuition; other awards may not.
- Visa, SEVIS fee, flights and the funds you must show for the I-20.
TCU Neeley MBA scholarships for international students
Neeley considers full-time applicants, international students included, for merit scholarships automatically, based on the application and interview. There is no separate form. The named awards are:
| Award | What Neeley says it covers |
|---|---|
| Dean’s Scholarships | Full tuition, programme fees and an annual stipend |
| TCU Neeley Scholarships | Full or partial tuition |
| Endowed Scholarships | $2,500 up to full tuition |
| Forté Fellowships | For students committed to advancing women in business |
| Graduate assistantships | Paid roles supporting faculty or departments |
Neeley says international applicants compete for merit scholarships and graduate assistantships, while need-based loans and grants are generally reserved for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. It does not list Prodigy, MPOWER or other no-cosigner lenders on the pages I checked. If you need extra funding, see our guide to recommendation letters for scholarships for outside awards.
STEM designation and OPT
Neeley’s full-time MBA pages do not mention STEM designation. Unless TCU confirms otherwise in writing, plan on the standard 12 months of OPT after graduation, not the 24-month STEM extension. Ask the graduate office whether the analytics specialisation changes this.
TCU Neeley MBA salary and employment
| Measure (2025 graduates) | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Average total compensation | $153,000 | Neeley full-time MBA page |
| Average base salary | $126,000 | Poets&Quants profile |
| Average signing bonus | $27,000 | Neeley and Poets&Quants |
| Accepted offers within 90 days | 89% | Neeley full-time MBA page |
Neeley does not publish a median base salary or a list of top employers. It says graduates commonly go into consulting, finance, marketing and operations. Students also get experience through consulting projects for outside companies; Poets&Quants names Nike, PepsiCo and Alcon among recent clients.
Common mistakes international applicants make
- Missing the 1 March 2027 cut-off. Rounds 3 and 4 are not realistic for anyone who needs a visa.
- Taking an English test once and scoring below 100 on TOEFL or 7.0 on IELTS.
- Assuming a Nigerian, Ghanaian or Kenyan degree waives the English test because TCU’s list of examples does not name those countries.
- Applying in a late round and hoping for a full scholarship after most awards are gone.
- Writing essays that could be sent to any school, with nothing about Neeley’s specialisations or Fort Worth.
- Budgeting only for tuition and forgetting housing, insurance and fees.
Who should apply to TCU Neeley, and who shouldn’t
Apply if you have three to five years of work, strong English, and a goal in consulting, finance, energy, supply chain or brand management that the Dallas-Fort Worth market can serve. Neeley suits applicants who want a small cohort and a real chance at a full-tuition award.
Think twice if you could not pay a large share of $141,810 without a scholarship, if you need the 24-month STEM OPT extension, or if you want a one-year programme (Neeley’s accelerated MBA requires a business degree).
TCU Neeley vs peer MBA programmes
| School | U.S. News 2026 | Location | Acceptance rate (2025 intake, P&Q) |

| William & Mary Mason | No. 53 | Williamsburg, Virginia | 38.0% |

Neeley is the most selective school in this group. Oklahoma State costs about a third as much at list price ($47,831.20 for two years at nonresident rates), but Neeley’s scholarship rate can bring the real cost close to zero for strong applicants.
