FUAMB Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028, Courses and Requirements

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB) cut-off is reported at 150 for 2027/2028 planning. See the 12 reported courses, subjects, O’level rules, a safe target and the CAPS steps.

The FUAMB cut off mark is 150 in the UTME, as far as anyone can currently show. JAMB fixed 150 as the minimum for every Nigerian university for 2026/2027, and admission blogs reported 150 as the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi figure for both 2025/2026 and 2026/2027. FUAMB has not published a cut-off notice that I could open, and no departmental figures exist, so treat 150 as the floor and aim well above it.

2027/2028 update: FUAMB cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the 2026/2027 cycle: JAMB’s official minimum, plus the figure blogs reported for FUAMB, because FUAMB has not released a notice I could read. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

FUAMB is one of Nigeria’s newest federal universities. It was created in 2023, it has admitted students since 2024/2025, and it is a separate institution from Federal Polytechnic, Mubi. Its course list on JAMB could not be confirmed, so below I give the 12 programmes that two separate admission reports agree on, the subjects JAMB usually asks for, the admission steps, a safe target score and what is still unknown.

Check the name

The Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (now Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University) in Benue State has a very similar name and abbreviation. The Mubi university is FUAMB. Federal Polytechnic, Mubi is a third, separate institution. Make sure the institution you pick on JAMB is “Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi” before you submit.

Everything specific to FUAMB on this page comes from news and blog reports, not from a document signed by the university. The national 150 is official. If your score is 150 or more and FUAMB appears as an institution option for your course on JAMB, you meet the only verified threshold.

What FUAMB is and where it came from

  • Created in 2023: Wikipedia gives 2023 as its year of establishment. Leadership newspaper reported that presidential approval to site the university in Mubi was conveyed in a letter dated 18 April 2023, signed by the then Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
  • A short dispute over location: the same Leadership report covered Mubi Emirate stakeholders objecting to a move of the university to Hong. Later admission reports for 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 all place it in Mubi, Adamawa State.
  • Origins: Wikipedia says FUAMB grew out of the former Federal College of Agriculture, Mubi (established 1978). I could not confirm that in an official source.
  • Separate from the polytechnic: Federal Polytechnic, Mubi still runs its own ND and HND admissions. FUAMB was not converted from it.
  • Students: abstechconnect reported FUAMB’s first admission list for 2024/2025 in May 2025, and blogs reported first and second batch lists for 2025/2026. Wikipedia cites a Daily Post report of 2 April 2026 that FUAMB matriculated 599 students.

Mubi also hosts Adamawa State University (ADSU). If you are comparing the two, ADSU publishes an official course-by-course cut-off list, which FUAMB has not done.

The FUAMB figure has never been above the national floor in any report I found. That fits a young university that is still filling its first classes. It also means FUAMB may admit candidates from the 150s in less crowded courses, though it has not published anything that confirms how deep it goes.

FUAMB courses: the 12 programmes reported

FUAMB’s course list on JAMB could not be read when I checked, and FUAMB’s own site was not reachable. Two admission reports list its programmes: Myschool’s report of 15 July 2026 for 2026/2027 and Studentship’s report of 10 August 2025 for 2025/2026. These 12 appear in both. Treat them as reported programmes and confirm each one on the JAMB e-brochure before you register.

Reported programmeJAMB’s usual UTME subjects (plus Use of English; confirm on the e-brochure)
AgricultureChemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics
Agricultural Economics and ExtensionChemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics, Physics or Economics
Crop ScienceChemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics
Forestry and Wildlife ManagementChemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics
Fisheries and AquacultureChemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics
Nutrition and DieteticsChemistry, Biology, and Physics or Mathematics
Food Science and TechnologyChemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Mathematics or Physics
BiologyBiology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics
ChemistryChemistry plus two of Physics, Biology and Mathematics
PhysicsPhysics, Mathematics, and Chemistry or Biology
Mathematics (Studentship lists it as “Mathematics and Statistics”)Mathematics plus two of Physics, Chemistry and Economics
Computer ScienceMathematics, Physics, and one of Chemistry, Biology or Economics

The reports disagree beyond these 12. Myschool’s list was cut off after the twelfth entry, and Studentship’s thirteenth is Geography. Wikipedia describes a different structure, with programmes such as Animal Science, Soil Science, Agribusiness and Management, Microbiology and Statistics. None of these is confirmed on JAMB. If the course you want is not in the table, check the e-brochure first and do not pay anyone on the strength of a blog list.

O’level and other requirements for FUAMB

  • O’level: five credits including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, in not more than two sittings (Studentship, 2025/2026). For science and agriculture courses, the other three credits should normally be Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, and Physics.
  • First choice: FUAMB as your institution on JAMB. If you chose elsewhere, do a JAMB change of institution while the window is open.
  • Minimum age: 16 by 30 September of the admission year, according to Studentship’s 2025/2026 report.
  • Direct Entry: Myschool reported that FUAMB opened 2026/2027 applications to both UTME and Direct Entry candidates. No DE requirements were published; JAMB’s brochure usually asks for two A-level passes in relevant subjects or an ND or NCE at credit or merit level.
  • Post-UTME: no test, fee or screening format for 2026/2027 appeared in any source I reached.

Safe target score for FUAMB (my advice)

FUAMB has not published how far above 150 it admits, so this is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a FUAMB rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read for FUAMB
Below 150Not eligible for any Nigerian university this session
150 to 164Eligible; best chances in less crowded agriculture courses
165 to 184A reasonable chance in most reported programmes
185 and aboveComfortable; this is where I would aim for Computer Science or Nutrition and Dietetics

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 170 for the agriculture programmes and at least 185 for Computer Science and Nutrition and Dietetics, which draw more applicants at most universities.

Worked example

FUAMB has published no aggregate formula, so the example only measures the gap between a score, the 150 floor and my targets. The figures are illustrative.

  1. Aisha, Crop Science, 162: 162 minus 150 = 12 above the floor, and 8 below my 170 target. With credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science, she is a realistic candidate.
  2. Yakubu, Computer Science, 171: 21 above the floor but 14 below my 185 target. He should keep Computer Science and be ready to consider an offer for Mathematics or Physics on CAPS.
  3. Grace, Nutrition and Dietetics, 149: one mark short of 150. No Nigerian university can admit her this session; she needs the 2027 UTME.

How to apply to FUAMB, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
  2. Confirm the course on the e-brochure: check that your course is listed under Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, and note the subjects JAMB shows.
  3. Register the UTME with FUAMB as first choice: or do a JAMB change of institution later.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre, as soon as your result is out.
  5. Watch for the FUAMB application: in 2026/2027 Myschool reported the opening on 15 July 2026. Studentship’s 2025/2026 report pointed applicants to www.fuamb.edu.ng; confirm the address before entering any details or paying.
  6. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and Access my CAPS. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear at FUAMB: no acceptance fee has been published in any source I reached, so confirm the amount with the university before you pay.

JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities; that date has now passed. If you applied to FUAMB this year, check CAPS for your status. If you are planning for next year, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts.

Accreditation and what is still unknown

As a new federal university, FUAMB needs NUC approval for each programme it runs, and accreditation visits normally come once the first students reach the later years. I found no NUC approval or accreditation record for any FUAMB programme, and no named Vice-Chancellor in a source I could verify. Before you accept, ask FUAMB which of its programmes have NUC approval.

  • FUAMB’s official cut-off notice, if any, and whether any course is set above 150.
  • Its course list on JAMB.
  • The screening fee, test format and portal steps.
  • Acceptance and school fees.
  • The NUC status of each programme.

ADSU, also in Mubi, publishes official course-by-course figures for several agriculture and science courses:

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus.

FUAMB cut off mark: frequently asked questions

What is the cut off mark for Federal University of Agriculture Mubi? Blogs report 150 for 2025/2026 and 2026/2027, which matches JAMB’s official minimum for universities. FUAMB has not published its own notice that I could open.

What courses are offered in FUAMB? Two admission reports agree on 12: Agriculture, Agricultural Economics and Extension, Crop Science, Forestry and Wildlife Management, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. Confirm each on the JAMB e-brochure.

Is Federal University of Agriculture Mubi the same as Federal Polytechnic Mubi? No. FUAMB was created in 2023 as a university, and Federal Polytechnic, Mubi still runs its own ND and HND admissions.

Is FUAMB admission still on for 2026/2027? JAMB’s 31 October 2026 deadline for public universities has passed, so check CAPS for any offer. New applicants should prepare for the 2027 UTME.
