ADSU Marketing Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

ADSU’s official cut-off for Marketing is 150 for 2027/2028 planning. See the history, a safe target score, JAMB subjects, how ADSU screening ran and the CAPS steps.

The ADSU cut off mark for Marketing is 150 in the UTME. Adamawa State University, Mubi set that figure for Marketing in its approved programme cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 session, released by the Office of the Registrar in June 2026, and it used the same figure in 2025/2026. It matches JAMB’s national minimum for universities.

2027/2028 update: ADSU cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Marketing is a B.Sc. course in ADSU’s Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences, and it is on JAMB’s list of ADSU courses under the name Marketing. Below you will find the official figures, my safe target score, the subject combination from the JAMB brochure, how ADSU’s online screening ran in 2026/2027, a worked example, the CAPS steps and what the degree leads to.

Because ADSU publishes its own course list, the 150 here is an ADSU figure, not just the national floor copied across. The real competition happens above it: ADSU admits from everyone who cleared 150 and chose Marketing.

Earlier sessionsNot foundNo older ADSU list reached

Marketing has stayed at 150 for both sessions I could check. Business Administration, the faculty’s most popular course, rose from 150 to 160 for 2026/2027, which suggests ADSU is willing to raise a figure when demand climbs.

Where Marketing sits on ADSU’s 2026/2027 list

ADSU published four tiers for 2026/2027. Most courses sit on the national floor of 150; a handful were pushed higher because demand for them is heavier.

ADSU 2026/2027 cut-offProgrammes on that tier
230 (Adamawa indigenes) / 260 (non-indigenes)Common Law and Sharia
170Biochemistry, Microbiology, Computer Science
160Animal Production, Cyber Security, Business Administration, Mass Communication
150Every other programme on the list, across Agriculture, Arts, Education, Environmental Science, Science and Computing, Administration and Management Sciences, and Social Sciences

Marketing is on the 150 tier with Accounting, Banking and Finance, Entrepreneurship, Public Administration and Taxation. If you scored 155 and wanted Business Administration, Marketing is the closest course still open to you.

Safe target score for Marketing at ADSU (my advice)

Clearing the cut-off puts you in the screening pool, and ADSU then admits from that pool by merit. ADSU does not publish the score of the last candidate admitted into each course, so the table below is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not an ADSU rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read for ADSU Marketing
Below 150Not eligible for any ADSU course this session
150 to 164Eligible. A place depends on your O’level grades and how many people applied
165 to 179A reasonable chance if your O’level is clean
180 and aboveComfortable. This is the range I would aim for

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 175, and 180 or more if you can manage it, with good credits in English, Mathematics and Economics.

Catchment and state of origin

ADSU has not published a catchment quota for Marketing. Its only state-of-origin rule for 2026/2027 is in Law (230 for Adamawa indigenes, 260 for others). Candidates from every state who meet 150 can apply for Marketing.

UTME subject combination and O’level for ADSU Marketing

RequirementMarketing at ADSU
UTME subjectsUse of English plus Mathematics, Economics and one other relevant subject (JAMB brochure, as reprinted by Myschool; no ADSU-specific remark)
O’level (JAMB brochure)Five credits including English Language, Mathematics and any three relevant subjects
O’level (ADSU 2026/2027 notice)Five credits including English Language and Mathematics, for every course
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (JAMB’s usual list; ADSU’s notice did not name the bodies in the reprint I read)
SittingsNot stated in the reprint of ADSU’s notice; most Nigerian universities accept two sittings, but one sitting is safer
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes chosen from Accounting, Management, Government and Geography (JAMB brochure). ADSU did not publish extra DE rules for Marketing in the sources I reached.

Mathematics and Economics are compulsory in the UTME. For the third subject, Commerce or Accounting (Principles of Accounts) is the sensible pick because it supports the first-year courses and keeps Accounting and Banking and Finance open as alternatives.

Economics is not named in the brochure’s O’level line for Marketing, but I would still have a credit in it, since you are writing it in the UTME and most management departments expect it.

How ADSU screening worked for Marketing in 2026/2027

ADSU ran one online screening exercise for UTME and Direct Entry candidates in 2026/2027. The notice, as reprinted by Myschool on 12 June 2026 and by Androidpols on 15 June 2026, described an online screening and did not announce a written test.

Worked example for a Marketing candidate

ADSU has not published an aggregate formula, and with no announced test there is no Post-UTME score to combine with your UTME. What you can work out is the gap between your score, the official minimum and a safe target. The figures below are illustrative.

Take Hope, who scored 183 and has B2 in English, B3 in Mathematics, B3 in Economics, C4 in Commerce and C5 in Government from one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 183 minus 150 = 33. She clears the Marketing minimum by 33 marks.
  2. Against my safe target: 183 is above the 175 I would call safe.
  3. O’level check: five credits including English and Mathematics, in one sitting.
  4. What I would advise: make sure her O’level is on CAPS and watch CAPS weekly once ADSU starts admitting.

Idris scored 157 and has two sittings with a C6 in Mathematics. He is eligible, but he is close to the floor. I would advise him to accept a related course if ADSU offers one on CAPS, rather than wait a year.

How to apply for Marketing at ADSU, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME with ADSU as first choice: choose Marketing as your course, with Use of English plus Mathematics, Economics and one other relevant subject. If ADSU was not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before the screening opens.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB-accredited centre and have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded. Without it, CAPS cannot match you to the five-credit rule.
  4. Fill the ADSU screening form: on adsu.edu.ng, click the Post UTME link and fill in your details. In 2026/2027 this was open from 15 June to 30 October.
  5. Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee: that was the 2026/2027 amount. Pay only through the method the portal gives you, and keep the receipt.
  6. Save your confirmation: print or save whatever the portal gives you after payment, and keep it with your JAMB result slip and O’level results.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer if you want it. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  8. Pay acceptance and clear at ADSU: ADSU has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached, so confirm the amount on the portal or at the Admissions Office before you pay.

Warning

Every genuine ADSU offer shows on JAMB CAPS. ADSU’s screening needed only the portal form and the fee stated by the university, so do not pay anyone who promises a place in Marketing or a “special list”.

JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities; that date has now passed. If you applied to ADSU this year, check JAMB CAPS and the ADSU portal for your admission status. If you did not get in, plan for the 2027 UTME and read when JAMB 2027 registration starts.

Studying Marketing at ADSU

ADSU did not publish a separate Marketing course outline in any source I could open, so the list below is what a Nigerian B.Sc. Marketing typically covers. The degree normally takes four years for UTME entrants and three for Direct Entry; ADSU has not stated the duration in a source I reached.

What you study

  • Foundations: principles of marketing, management, economics, business statistics and accounting.
  • Core marketing: consumer behaviour, marketing research, sales management, advertising and promotion.
  • Applied areas: retail and distribution, agricultural marketing, international marketing and digital marketing.
  • Practice: SIWES or industrial attachment and a final-year research project.

Accreditation

I found no NUC accreditation report for ADSU’s Marketing programme, so its status is not confirmed. For context, NUC’s accreditation report for ADSU’s Business Administration, the faculty’s best-known course, records Full accreditation with a score of 80.80% after a 2024 visit. Ask the department about the current status of Marketing before you pay acceptance.

Careers

Marketing graduates work in sales and brand management, advertising and media buying, market research, retail, banking product teams and the marketing desks of agro-allied firms. Professional bodies such as the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria offer membership routes after graduation.

For UTME revision, start with our JAMB Economics syllabus. If you need to swap ADSU in as first choice, see JAMB change of institution.

Mistakes that cost Marketing applicants an ADSU place

  • Dropping Mathematics or Economics from the UTME: both are compulsory for Marketing in the JAMB brochure.
  • Reading the cut-off as an admission score: it only lets you into the screening pool.
  • No credit in Mathematics: ADSU’s 2026/2027 notice asked every candidate for credits in English and Mathematics.
  • O’level not uploaded to CAPS: the screening cannot match you to the five-credit rule without it.
  • ADSU not first choice: the notice told other candidates to change their first choice to ADSU on JAMB’s website.
  • Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and clearance at ADSU are separate steps.

ADSU cut off mark for Marketing: frequently asked questions

What is the cut off mark for Marketing in ADSU? ADSU’s official 2026/2027 cut-off for Marketing is 150, the same as in 2025/2026.

Is 170 good for Marketing in ADSU? 170 clears the 150 minimum by 20 marks and gives you a fair chance if your O’level is clean. I would aim for 175 to 180 to be safer.

Can I study Marketing in ADSU without Economics in JAMB? No. The JAMB brochure lists Mathematics and Economics as compulsory UTME subjects for Marketing.

Does ADSU accept awaiting result for Marketing? The reprint of ADSU’s 2026/2027 notice I read did not mention awaiting results. Your five credits must be on CAPS before admission, so ask ADSU before relying on an awaiting result.

Sources and updates

The 150 figure for Marketing comes from ADSU’s 2026/2027 approved programme cut-off list, issued by the Office of the Registrar and signed by Dunfe S. Anjili, Admission Officer, for the Registrar (uploaded June 2026). The 2025/2026 figure comes from ADSU’s 2025/2026 programme cut-off list, signed by Angyatiya B. Atimi, Admission Officer, for the Registrar. The ₦2,000 fee, the 15 June to 30 October 2026 window, the five-credit rule and the 150 general minimum come from ADSU’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME/DE notice as reprinted by Myschool (12 June 2026) and Androidpols (15 June 2026); I did not open the original PDF of that notice. The national minimum of 150 and the 31 October 2026 deadline for public universities come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). UTME, O’level and Direct Entry requirements are from the JAMB brochure entry for Marketing (Myschool reprint), which has no ADSU remark. The Business Administration accreditation figure is from NUC’s accreditation report for Adamawa State University Mubi. Checked on 3 November 2026. This page will be updated when ADSU publishes its 2027/2028 cut-off list.
