Topfaith University has not published a cut-off mark for Law. The official minimum is 150, JAMB’s 2026 floor for every university. Topfaith’s admissions page asks only that you “meet cut-off marks in UTME in relevant subjects” and gives no number. The good news for applicants is on the regulatory side: Topfaith’s LL.B. holds full NUC accreditation to 2029, and the university is on the Council of Legal Education’s list of approved law faculties dated 14 August 2026.
2027/2028 update: Topfaith University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum of 150, because Topfaith has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Below you will find what Topfaith has published, a safe target score (clearly marked as my advice), the UTME and O’level subjects from JAMB’s brochure, how Topfaith admits through its portal and JAMB CAPS, the 2026/2027 fees, and where Law stands with the regulators.
Topfaith University cut-off mark for Law at a glance
| Item | Position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Topfaith cut-off for Law | Not published | Topfaith admissions page; Myschool reprint of the 2026/2027 notice (20 May 2026) |
| JAMB minimum for all universities (2026 UTME) | 150 | Official (JAMB policy meeting, 11 May 2026) |
| Safe target score | 210 and above | My advice, not a Topfaith rule |
| UTME subjects | English plus three Arts or Social Science subjects | JAMB brochure (Myschool reprint) |
| O’level | English, Literature in English, Mathematics plus two others | JAMB brochure plus Topfaith’s own rule |
| Sittings | No more than two | Topfaith admissions page |

Topfaith Law cut-off: what has been published
| Session | Figure | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | Not published | Topfaith’s own cut-off for Law | topfaith.edu.ng/admissions (checked 3 November 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB’s minimum UTME score for every university | JAMB 2026 policy meeting (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | No score given | Myschool reprint of Topfaith’s application notice | Myschool, 20 May 2026 |
| Earlier sessions | None found | No Topfaith departmental figure in any source I reached | Searches up to 3 November 2026 |
So the only number you can treat as official is 150. Topfaith takes its students through JAMB, and JAMB will not let any university admit a 2026 candidate below that line. If a blog shows you a “Topfaith Law cut-off” of 180 or 200, ask where it came from: none of the figures I have seen cites a Topfaith document.
Topfaith Law has been running long enough to earn full NUC accreditation, but the university has never released the score of the last candidate it admitted into Law. Nobody outside the admissions office knows that number, so be wary of anyone quoting it.
Safe target score for Law at Topfaith (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, built from how young private universities in Nigeria usually fill their places. It is not a Topfaith rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Law at Topfaith |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible this session |
| 150 to 179 | Eligible, but weak for Law. Have a second course in mind |
| 180 to 209 | Possible with strong O’level grades |
| 210 to 239 | Competitive. This is the range I would aim for |
| 240 and above | Strong at Topfaith and competitive at most universities |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 210. Law is the most sought-after course in most faculties of social sciences and arts, and the Council of Legal Education caps the number each university may admit. Topfaith’s quota is not printed on the August 2026 list, so assume places are limited.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Law at Topfaith
| Requirement | Law at Topfaith |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (JAMB brochure) | Use of English plus any three Arts or Social Science subjects. Literature in English is the safest choice, because many universities insist on it |
| O’level (JAMB brochure) | Five credits including English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics |
| O’level (Topfaith rule for every course) | Five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at no more than two sittings |
| Topfaith remark in the brochure | None. The Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Law page lists no Topfaith-specific remark, so the general line applies |
| Direct Entry (JAMB brochure) | Two A-level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects; NCE, ND or a first degree (Second Class Lower) are also listed |
| Direct Entry (Topfaith) | Five credits plus at least two A-level passes in relevant subjects, or an ND or HND with credit, or a good first degree |
| Transfer | JAMB admission letter, transcript and an attestation letter from your previous university |
Literature in English is where Law candidates slip. JAMB’s general UTME line says any three Arts or Social Science subjects, but its O’level line makes a Literature credit compulsory, and universities such as UNN, UNIBEN and OAU add Literature to the UTME as well. Topfaith has no remark in the brochure, so the general line applies, but taking Literature in the UTME costs you nothing and keeps every law faculty open.
Mathematics matters too. JAMB’s O’level line lists it, and Topfaith requires English and Mathematics credits for every course. A pass is not enough at Topfaith even though a few universities accept one.
How Topfaith screens Law applicants
Topfaith states that all its admissions go through JAMB. You apply online on the Topfaith portal, upload your documents, and choose Topfaith as your first choice on JAMB. The 2026/2027 notice does not publish a Post-UTME test, a test date, a form price or a scoring formula, so I cannot tell you whether Law applicants sit a paper test or are judged on UTME and O’level alone.
| Detail | Topfaith 2026/2027 |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates with five relevant credits (English and Mathematics included) who meet the UTME cut-off and chose Topfaith |
| Application | Online at topfaith.edu.ng/application/ (“Start Application”) |
| Form fee | Not published |
| Post-UTME test | Not described in the notice |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
| Contacts listed | admissions@topfaith.edu.ng and two phone lines on the admissions page |
Worked example (illustrative)
With no published formula, the useful sum is the gap between your score, the 150 floor and my safe target of 210. These candidates are made up to show the method.
Take Utibe, who scored 223 and has B2 in English, B3 in Literature, C4 in Mathematics, B3 in Government and C5 in CRS from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 223 minus 150 = 73. Utibe clears the JAMB floor by 73 marks.
- Against my safe target: 223 minus 210 = 13. Utibe sits 13 marks above the score I would call safe.
- O’level check: Literature, English and Mathematics credits are all there, from one sitting.
- What I would advise: apply early on the Topfaith portal and keep checking CAPS. Her score and grades put her in a good position.
Nsikak scored 189. 189 minus 150 = 39, so the score itself is enough to be considered. He has Literature, but only a D7 in Mathematics. Topfaith asks for a Mathematics credit for every course, so he must fix that grade first. With 189 and a clean O’level he would be in the possible band, not the safe one.
Your chances of getting Law at Topfaith
Topfaith is a young private university in Mkpatak, Essien Udim LGA. Its first students matriculated in May 2022, and it now lists 26 programmes on its 2026/2027 fees page. Private universities in Akwa Ibom draw far fewer UTME applicants than the University of Uyo, and fees screen out many families, so a candidate who clears 150 and has clean O’level results is usually in a stronger position at Topfaith than at a federal university with the same score.
Law will be the most competitive course in this group at Topfaith. Places are limited by the CLE quota and demand is high everywhere, so applicants in the 180s compete with candidates who missed out at UNIUYO and AKSU. If you are in the 210s with clean O’level grades, your chances are good.
How Topfaith compares with other Akwa Ibom universities
| University | Type | 2026/2027 minimum |
|---|---|---|
| University of Uyo (UNIUYO) | Federal | 150, with UNIUYO as first choice (UNIUYO 2026/2027 notice). Law places are filled on merit far above 150 |
| Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) | State | 150 (reprint of AKSU 2026/2027 notice). NUC approved AKSU Law on 10 November 2025; on the CLE list from 14 August 2026 |
JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for public universities; that date has now passed. Private universities, Topfaith included, have until 30 November 2026, so admissions at Topfaith can still move on CAPS this month.
How to apply for Law at Topfaith, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Law with Use of English, Literature in English and two other Arts or Social Science subjects such as Government and CRS or History, and make Topfaith University your first choice. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution at a JAMB CBT centre.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at an accredited JAMB CBT centre as soon as your result is out. Check that English, Literature in English and Mathematics all show.
- Apply on the Topfaith portal: open topfaith.edu.ng/application, click “Start Application”, fill the form and upload the documents it asks for.
- Follow the screening instructions: Topfaith contacts applicants about the next step. If you hear nothing, write to admissions@topfaith.edu.ng with your JAMB number.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay the acceptance fee and register: the acceptance fee is ₦100,000 and is not refundable. Pay it and the ₦2,500,000 tuition only through channels Topfaith confirms, then print your JAMB admission letter.
Law school eligibility
Only graduates of universities on the Council of Legal Education’s approved list can go on to the Nigerian Law School. Topfaith is on the August 2026 list. Before you accept any Law offer anywhere, check the university’s name on the CLE’s latest list, because the Council has placed some universities under moratorium.
Studying Law at Topfaith University
Law is taught in Topfaith’s Faculty of Law and leads to the LL.B. degree. Nigerian LL.B. programmes run for five years at university, after which graduates attend the Nigerian Law School before being called to the Bar. Topfaith’s fees page does not state the duration.
Accreditation
The NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 lists Topfaith’s Law programme with full accreditation and a maturity date of 2029. Full accreditation is the best grade the NUC gives.
For law there is a second regulator. The Council of Legal Education’s public notice of 14 August 2026, signed by Aderonke O. Osho and listing 122 universities approved to admit LL.B. students, includes Topfaith University, Mkpatak at number 102, with no moratorium note. The notice does not give Topfaith’s admission quota.
What you study
- Early years: legal methods, Nigerian legal system, constitutional law and Use of English.
- Core law: contract, torts, criminal law, land law, equity and trusts, commercial law and evidence.
- Later years: jurisprudence, electives such as oil and gas law or international law, and a long essay.
- After the degree: the Nigerian Law School, then the call to the Bar.
Careers
Lawyers work in private practice, company legal departments, banks, the oil and gas industry, government ministries, the judiciary, NGOs and academia. Some graduates go into policy, compliance or journalism without practising. To practise in Nigeria you must complete the Nigerian Law School and be called to the Bar.
Fees in the Faculty of Law, 2026/2027
| Programme | Tuition per session (₦) |
|---|---|
| Law (LL.B.) | 2,500,000 |
Add the ₦100,000 acceptance fee in your first year. The fees page does not break down accommodation, feeding or other charges, so ask the bursary for the full first-year bill before you accept.

Mistakes that cost Law applicants a Topfaith place
- No Literature credit: JAMB’s O’level line for Law requires it.
- A Mathematics pass instead of a credit: Topfaith asks for a credit in every course.
- Ignoring the CLE list: check it for any university you apply to for Law.
- Leaving O’level off CAPS: JAMB cannot process an admission without it.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and registration at Topfaith are separate steps.
Topfaith Law cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
What is the cut-off mark for Law in Topfaith University? Topfaith has not published one. You need at least JAMB’s 150, and I would aim for 210 or more because Law places are capped.
Is Topfaith University Law accredited by the CLE? Yes. Topfaith is number 102 on the Council of Legal Education’s list of 122 approved universities dated 14 August 2026, and the NUC lists its Law programme with full accreditation to 2029.
Can I study Law at Topfaith without Literature in English? JAMB’s O’level requirement for Law includes a Literature credit, so you should have it. For the UTME, Literature is not in JAMB’s general line, but I would take it anyway.
How much is Law school fees in Topfaith University? Tuition for 2026/2027 is ₦2,500,000 a session, plus a ₦100,000 acceptance fee in the first year.
Sources and updates
The application rules, the online portal and the contacts come from Topfaith’s admissions page; tuition and the ₦100,000 acceptance fee come from its fees page for 2026/2027 freshers (both checked 3 November 2026). The absence of a cut-off figure is confirmed by Myschool’s reprint of Topfaith’s 2026/2027 notice (20 May 2026). Subject requirements come from Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s brochure page for Law, which carries no Topfaith remark. The NUC status comes from the NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 (uploaded September 2026), which lists Topfaith’s Accounting, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Criminology and Security Studies and Economics with full accreditation to 2028, and Petroleum and Gas, Computer, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Law with full accreditation to 2029. Topfaith reported the result in an article dated 19 April 2026. The CLE position comes from the Council of Legal Education public notice of 14 August 2026 (as published by TheNigeriaLawyer). The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). Comparison figures for other Akwa Ibom universities come from their own 2026/2027 notices or reprints, as labelled in the table. The safe target score and the worked example are my advice. This page will be updated if Topfaith publishes a cut-off for Law.
