The Fed Poly Ukana Office Technology and Management cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. It is the minimum Federal Polytechnic, Ukana asked for in its 2026/2027 ND screening notice (at least 100 in the 2026 UTME), and it is the same as JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics. No separate cut-off for Office Technology and Management has been published.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ukana cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Choosing Office Technology and Management on your UTME profile is straightforward, because it is on JAMB’s list for Fed Poly Ukana and in the school’s 2025/2026 ND admission notice. So it is an established course. This page covers the Office Technology and Management subject combination, O’level rules and screening, with my own safe target score and a worked example.

Fed Poly Ukana Office Technology and Management cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | Fed Poly Ukana ND screening notice: minimum UTME score for all ND applicants | Official (school notice, via Myschool) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2025/2026 | Not shown | Fed Poly Ukana ND notice (the reprint lists courses but no score) | Official notice, partial reprint |
| Any year | None | A separate Fed Poly Ukana cut-off for Office Technology and Management | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB set 100 for polytechnics in 2025 and again in 2026, and Fed Poly Ukana used that same 100 in its 2026/2027 notice. No Office Technology and Management figure has ever been published, so anyone who quotes one is guessing.
Safe target score for Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Ukana (my advice)
I put this table together as an admissions adviser. Fed Poly Ukana has no such rule for Office Technology and Management, and it does not publish merit lists with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Ukana |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible with a fair chance |
| 120 to 139 | Good chance; 120 is the score I would aim for |
| 140 and above | Strong |
My target for the 2027 UTME would be 120 or more, plus clean credits in English Language and Mathematics. A score of 100 only gets you into screening. The margin above it helps when the Office Technology and Management department has more applicants than places.
Catchment and state of origin
Nobody can point to an automatic advantage for Akwa Ibom candidates, or a disadvantage for applicants from other states. Fed Poly Ukana is a federal polytechnic that admits from every state. Federal institutions usually divide places across merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states, but this one has not published its ND split for Office Technology and Management or any other course.
Fed Poly Ukana Office Technology and Management subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Office Technology and Management |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English and any three of Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, History/Government, Geography, CRS/IRS and Principles of Accounts |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus three from Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, a science subject, History/Government, Typewriting and Shorthand |
| English Language | English Language and Mathematics credits are in the base rule |
| Brochure remark for Fed Poly Ukana | None found |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (named in the school notice) |
| Sittings | Not more than two sittings (school notice) |
What I would register for the UTME: English, Economics, Commerce and Government (or Mathematics). Our JAMB Economics syllabus will help you plan your revision.
For Office Technology and Management you need five O’level credits. Build them around English Language and Mathematics, and use any free slot for a subject useful for the course. Upload to JAMB CAPS the same result you present at screening, so the school and JAMB see the same grades.
Direct Entry and the HND route
ND Office Technology and Management admission goes through the UTME and CAPS alone. There is no Direct Entry into ND year one. After your ND and the one-year industrial attachment, the polytechnic takes HND applications directly, not through CAPS, and our guide to Fed Poly Ukana HND admission requirements explains that route.
How Fed Poly Ukana screening works
For Office Technology and Management and every other ND course, Fed Poly Ukana announced 2026/2027 full-time screening in August 2026. The polytechnic’s website would not load for me, so I relied on Myschool’s reprint of the notice. Part of the documents list is cut off in that reprint, so some details are missing.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 notice says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who chose Fed Poly Ukana and scored at least 100 in the 2026 UTME | Official |
| O’level | Five credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent, at not more than two sittings | Official |
| Form fee | ₦2,000 | Official |
| Where to apply | eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng (the application page of the school portal) | Official |
| Closing date | Not shown in the reprint | Check the portal |
| Test or document check | Not shown in the reprint, which breaks off at the instruction to bring original documents | Check the portal |
| Admission lists | First batch out by 11 September 2026; third batch reported on 26 October 2026 | Myschool reports |
Three batches into 2026/2027, the exercise is largely at acceptance. Later batches are still possible, since JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the deadline for polytechnics. Keep checking CAPS if you chose Fed Poly Ukana in the 2026 UTME and no Office Technology and Management offer has appeared.
Worked example for an ND Office Technology and Management applicant
Take Ekomobong, who scored 116 in English, Economics, Commerce and Government, with credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Government from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 116 minus 100 = 16. Ekomobong is above the school minimum.
- Against my safe target: 116 minus 120 = -4. That is just under my target, so the O’level result has to be clean.
- O’level check: all five credits come from one sitting and cover the core subjects for Office Technology and Management, so nothing needs fixing there.
- CAPS check: the same O’level result must be uploaded to JAMB CAPS, or no offer can be approved.
Many polytechnics rank candidates on a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how that works, and only as an illustration, divide the UTME score by 8 (giving a mark out of 50) and add a screening score out of 50. Ekomobong’s 116 becomes 14.5; with a screening score of 30 the total is 44.5 out of 100. A candidate on 110 with the same screening score would have 43.75. Fed Poly Ukana has not published a formula.
Your chances of getting Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Ukana
- OTM usually admits more candidates in the 100 to 130 range than the other business courses.
- Typing speed and good English will help you once you are in.
- If you were aiming for Accountancy or Business Administration, an OTM offer on CAPS is still a solid route.
- Fed Poly Ukana released its 2026 ND lists in batches. A name missing from the first list was not a rejection.
- JAMB gave polytechnics until 31 December 2026 to finish 2026/2027 admissions, so an Office Technology and Management offer can arrive late in the year.
How to apply for Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Ukana, step by step
- Create your JAMB profile: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register for the UTME: pick Federal Polytechnic, Ukana and Office Technology and Management exactly as JAMB names it, using the subjects shown above.
- Check your institution choice: if Fed Poly Ukana was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution ahead of screening. To change into Office Technology and Management, see JAMB change of course.
- Get your O’level onto CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB centre to upload the result that carries your English Language and Mathematics credits. Until CAPS shows an O’level result, JAMB cannot approve an offer.
- Get the screening form: go to eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng, open the ND application page, pay the ₦2,000 fee, fill the form and print your slip.
- Go to screening: the portal announces the exercise. Take the slip, the UTME result slip and the original O’level result that shows your English Language and Mathematics credits.
- Accept the offer on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, click Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. The JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
- Acceptance fee and clearance: I could not find the Fed Poly Ukana acceptance fee in any source I reached. Generate an invoice on the school portal and pay only through it, then complete clearance with your printed JAMB admission letter.
Warning
Nobody can sell you a “special list” slot or a paid change of course at Fed Poly Ukana. Admission comes through JAMB CAPS: a genuine offer shows on your CAPS page, and genuine payments go through a portal invoice in your name.

Studying Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Ukana
ND Office Technology and Management sits in the School of Management Studies at Ukana, in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The ND trains office managers and executive assistants who run records, correspondence and office systems.
What you study
The Office Technology and Management department has not put its own course list online, so these are the topics the NBTE ND curriculum usually covers.
- Keyboarding and word processing
- Shorthand and transcription
- Office practice and records management
- Business communication and English
- Office application packages and computing
- Principles of management and general studies
Duration and accreditation
ND Office Technology and Management follows the standard NBTE structure: two years full time, with a short SIWES placement inside it. For the HND you then need a one-year industrial attachment and usually an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Ukana has not published a course-specific timetable, so plan with the national pattern.
When the NBTE carried out its July 2022 resource inspection at Fed Poly Ukana, it approved eight ND programmes, and Office Technology and Management was not among them (The Will, 10 August 2022). There may have been a later approval, but I found no public record. Ask the department for the NBTE approval status before paying fees, because an unapproved course can cause trouble later, for example when you apply for HND.
Careers after the ND
- Secretary or executive assistant
- Administrative and records officer
- Front desk and customer service officer
- Confidential secretary in government service

Mistakes that cost Office Technology and Management applicants
- Using Literature for the English credit: you need English Language.
- Thinking it is just typing: the course covers management and office systems too.
- Ignoring the computing side: most offices now run on software.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
- Paying anyone outside the eportal: the ₦2,000 form is paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng.
Fed Poly Ukana Office Technology and Management: frequently asked questions
What are the JAMB subjects for OTM at Fed Poly Ukana? English plus any three of Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, History/Government, Geography, CRS/IRS and Principles of Accounts.
Is OTM a good course in polytechnic? Yes if you want office and administrative work. Every organisation needs people who can run records, correspondence and office software.
How much is the Fed Poly Ukana screening form? It cost ₦2,000 in 2026/2027, paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng. The 2027/2028 price is not out yet; budget ₦2,000 until it is.
Is 105 enough for Office Technology and Management at Fed Poly Ukana? It is enough to apply, since the minimum is 100. To feel safe in Office Technology and Management I would want 120 or more, so at 105 make sure your O’level result is strong.
Sources and updates
JAMB’s 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 closing date for admissions come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The Will (10 August 2022) reported the 2022 NBTE approvals, and the location comes from the NBTE directory. Reports on Myschool (11 September, 26 October and 31 October 2026) are the source for the admission list dates. On 10 August 2026 Myschool reprinted the school’s screening notice, which gives Fed Poly Ukana’s own 2026/2027 rules (minimum 100, five credits at not more than two sittings, ₦2,000 form, eportal). The 2025/2026 course list comes from Myschool’s reprint of that year’s ND notice (18 July 2025). Whether Office Technology and Management is on JAMB’s list comes from the Myschool list of Fed Poly Ukana courses. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s polytechnic brochure (ND Office Technology and Management brochure page) is the source for the UTME and O’level requirements. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Last checked 3 November 2026. When Fed Poly Ukana publishes its 2027/2028 notice, this page will be updated.
