The Akwa Ibom Poly Environmental Science and Management Technology cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua put its 2026/2027 ND cut-off at “100 and above” in the 2026 UTME. That is the same as JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics, and there is no separate figure for Environmental Science and Management Technology.
2027/2028 update: Akwa Ibom Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Environmental Science and Management Technology appears in Akwa Ibom Poly’s 2026/2027 ND admission notice, but it is not on JAMB’s course list for the school as reprinted by Myschool in November 2026. ND admission only happens through JAMB CAPS, so check the warning that follows before you pay for anything. The verified figures come first, then the Environmental Science and Management Technology subjects, screening and the CAPS steps.
Check CAPS first
Environmental Science and Management Technology is missing from JAMB’s course list for Akwa Ibom Poly. Do not buy a screening form until you have opened JAMB’s e-brochure and your CAPS page and confirmed the course can be selected for this school, or until the admissions office has told you in writing how it admits into Environmental Science and Management Technology. If it cannot be selected, choose Science Laboratory Technology, which JAMB does list for the school.

Akwa Ibom Poly Environmental Science and Management Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2026/2027 | 100 and above | Akwa Ibom Poly ND cut-off for all ND applicants | Official (school notice, via Myschool) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2024/2025 | 120 | Minimum reported on a blog’s Akwa Ibom Poly post-UTME page | Unofficial (allschool; no school notice cited) |
| Any year | None | A separate Akwa Ibom Poly cut-off for Environmental Science and Management Technology | Never published in any source I found |
The school figure fell from the 120 blogs reported for 2024/2025 to “100 and above” in the 2026/2027 notice, which brings it in line with JAMB’s national minimum. Treat any Environmental Science and Management Technology cut-off you see quoted as a guess, because none has been published.
Safe target score for Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom Poly (my advice)
Akwa Ibom Poly does not publish merit lists with scores, so the bands below are my own reading for Environmental Science and Management Technology, not a school rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom Poly |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible; your chance depends on how many apply |
| 120 to 139 | Good chance; 130 is the score I would aim for |
| 140 and above | Strong |
130 or more in the 2027 UTME is what I would go for, with clean credits in the O’level subjects below. The minimum only gets you into screening for Environmental Science and Management Technology; a margin above it protects you when the department has more applicants than places.
Catchment and state of origin
Akwa Ibom Poly is an Akwa Ibom State Government polytechnic that also admits candidates from other states. State polytechnics often give indigenes some kind of preference, yet this one has not published any catchment list or quota for 2026/2027. My advice for Environmental Science and Management Technology applicants: do not count on a state-of-origin effect, and do not worry about one, unless the notice mentions it.
Akwa Ibom Poly Environmental Science and Management Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Environmental Science and Management Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English and three relevant science subjects, usually from Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Physics and Mathematics (usual JAMB pattern; the Myschool brochure page for this course showed no requirements when I checked) |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology plus one relevant subject (usual pattern; not verified) |
| English Language | English Language and Mathematics credits are expected |
| Brochure remark for Akwa Ibom Poly | None found |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (named in the school notice) |
| Sittings | Not stated in the reprint; most polytechnics accept two sittings |
My pick for the UTME: English, Chemistry, Biology and Geography (or Mathematics). Use our JAMB Geography syllabus to plan revision.
When I checked, the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s brochure showed no requirements for Environmental Science and Management Technology, so the lines above follow JAMB’s usual pattern for the course. Confirm them on JAMB’s e-brochure before you register.
Of the five credits, English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology carry the Environmental Science and Management Technology requirement. Use any free slot for a subject related to the course. The O’level you upload to JAMB CAPS and the one you present at screening should be the same result, so both see the same grades.
Direct Entry and the HND route
Direct Entry does not exist for ND year one, so the UTME and CAPS are the only way into ND Environmental Science and Management Technology. Later, with your ND and a one-year industrial attachment done, you can apply straight to the polytechnic for the HND, not through CAPS. See Akwa Ibom Poly HND admission requirements for that route.
How Akwa Ibom Poly screening works
Akwa Ibom Poly ran 2026/2027 in two steps: the ND cut-off and screening fee in June 2026, then screening for ND and HND applicants in September. Everything below comes from Myschool’s reprints of the notices, as I could not open the school’s own website.
| Detail | What the 2026/2027 notices say | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who scored 100 and above in the 2026 UTME | Official |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB | Official |
| Screening fee | ₦2,000 | Official |
| Screening dates | Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 September 2026, from 9:00 a.m. each day | Official; these dates have passed |
| Format | Candidates reported to their departments with their documents, including the WAEC or NECO statement of result | Official; no computer test was mentioned |
| Portal and closing date | Not shown in the reprint | Check the school website, akwaibompoly.edu.ng |
| 2024/2025 (for comparison) | A blog reported 120 and above, a ₦2,000 form and a 30 August 2024 closing date | Unofficial |
Departments checked documents in 2026; the notice did not mention a written or computer test. From how such screening usually works, I would say the UTME score and the quality of the O’level result separate candidates more than anything else. For Environmental Science and Management Technology, that means clean credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. This is my reading, since the school has not published its ranking method.
Worked example for an ND Environmental Science and Management Technology applicant
Take Mfon, who scored 126 in English, Chemistry, Biology and Geography, with credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 126 minus 100 = 26. Mfon is above the school minimum.
- Against my safe target: 126 minus 130 = -4. That is just under my target, so the O’level result has to be clean.
- O’level check: one sitting, with the Environmental Science and Management Technology core subjects covered, so there is no sittings problem.
- CAPS check: no offer can be approved until that same O’level result is on JAMB CAPS.
Suppose another Environmental Science and Management Technology applicant scored 110 and has identical O’level grades. With documents equally good, the higher UTME score is usually ahead, so Mfon at 126 would sit above them. This is illustrative only; the school has not published how it ranks applicants after screening.
Your chances of getting Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom Poly
- This course is not on JAMB’s list for the school, so your first job is to make sure it can be chosen at all.
- Where it does run, environmental courses tend to have fewer applicants than SLT or Computer Science.
- If you cannot select it on JAMB, SLT is the closest science course that is on JAMB’s list.
- A name missing from the first Environmental Science and Management Technology list was not a rejection in 2025/2026; blogs reported Akwa Ibom Poly releasing ND lists in batches.
- The 2026/2027 polytechnic deadline set by JAMB is 31 December 2026, so late offers are possible.
How to apply for Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom Poly, step by step
- Get a profile code: text NIN, a space and the 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line your NIN is linked to.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua with the subject combination above. Because Environmental Science and Management Technology is not on JAMB’s list for the school, pick a course JAMB does list unless the admissions office tells you in writing how to be considered for Environmental Science and Management Technology.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Akwa Ibom Poly was not your choice, you need a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Register for screening: check akwaibompoly.edu.ng until the notice appears. Then follow its application link, pay the fee (₦2,000 in 2026), complete the form and print the slip.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB centre to upload the result that carries your English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology credits. JAMB cannot approve an offer while CAPS shows no O’level result.
- Report to the Environmental Science and Management Technology department: candidates reported to their departments from 9:00 a.m. in 2026, documents in hand. Bring your slip, UTME result slip and WAEC or NECO statement of result, the one showing your English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology credits.
- Accept your admission: go to efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
- Pay acceptance and do clearance: I could not find the Akwa Ibom Poly acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice generated on the school portal, then complete clearance with your printed JAMB admission letter.
For the earlier stages, our guides cover when JAMB 2027 registration starts and, after the exam, how to check your JAMB result.
Studying Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom Poly
ND Environmental Science and Management Technology is taught in the School of Applied Sciences on the Ikot Osurua campus, near Ikot Ekpene, off the Aba road, Akwa Ibom State. The course trains environmental technicians who monitor pollution, manage waste and take part in environmental impact work.
What you study
These are the usual topics in the NBTE ND curriculum for Environmental Science and Management Technology. The department has not published its own course list online.
- Principles of environmental science and ecology
- Environmental chemistry and pollution

Duration and accreditation
Under the usual NBTE structure, ND Environmental Science and Management Technology takes two years full time, with a short SIWES placement inside those two years. Students heading for the HND then do the one-year industrial attachment and usually need an ND at Lower Credit or above. Akwa Ibom Poly has not published its own timetable for the course, so treat this as the national pattern.
NBTE status for ND Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic is something I could not confirm. The polytechnic is in the NBTE directory as a state polytechnic established in 1991. Ask the department, or check the NBTE’s list of approved programmes, before you pay fees.
Careers after the ND
- Environmental officer or field assistant with state environmental agencies
- Waste management or sanitation supervisor
- Assistant on environmental impact and pollution monitoring projects
- Health, safety and environment support roles in oil, gas and construction firms
- HND in an environmental option, then further study

Mistakes that cost Environmental Science and Management Technology applicants
- Paying before checking CAPS: the course does not appear on JAMB’s list for this school.
- No Chemistry or Biology credit: both are expected for an environmental science course.
- Confusing it with Environmental Health: that is a health course regulated differently.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
- Missing the departmental screening: in 2026 it ran for three days only, 9 to 11 September.
Akwa Ibom Poly Environmental Science and Management Technology: frequently asked questions

Is 115 enough for Environmental Science and Management Technology at Akwa Ibom Poly? 115 is above 100, which makes you eligible. I would want 130 or more for Environmental Science and Management Technology to feel safe, so make sure the O’level result is strong.
Sources and updates
The polytechnic minimum of 100 and the 31 December 2026 deadline for admissions are taken from the News Agency of Nigeria report on JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, dated 11 May 2026. The 2025 minimum, also 100, is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025), and Blueprint and AllAfrica reports match it. Whether Environmental Science and Management Technology is on JAMB’s list comes from the Myschool list of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic courses. Location and founding date were taken from Wikipedia and the NBTE directory. The Environmental Science and Management Technology UTME and O’level lines follow JAMB’s usual pattern for the course, because the brochure page showed no requirements; confirm them on JAMB’s e-brochure. The 120 reported for 2024/2025 is from an allschool blog post and is unofficial. Akwa Ibom Poly’s “100 and above” cut-off and its screening fee of ₦2,000 come from the school’s 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool on 27 June 2026. The screening dates, 9 to 11 September 2026, are from a Myschool report of 25 August 2026. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice, not school figures. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Akwa Ibom Poly publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
