Gregory University has no separate cut-off mark for Radiography and Radiation Science. The university used 140 as its minimum UTME score for every course in its last two published screening rounds (2024/2025 and 2025/2026). JAMB’s minimum for universities in 2026 is 150, so plan for at least 150 in the 2027 UTME, and I would aim for 190 or more.
2027/2028 update: Gregory University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest notices available: Gregory’s 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 screening notices, read together with JAMB’s 2026 minimum for universities, because no 2026/2027 Gregory notice with a score could be found. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Radiography is on JAMB’s course list for Gregory and the university’s College of Allied Health Sciences lists a Department of Radiography and Radiation Sciences, but I could not confirm its NUC accreditation status. NUC’s accreditation results publication could not be read as far as Gregory, and I found no NUC report page for this programme. Radiographers Registration Board (RRBN) approval appears only as a claim in a feature article in The Sun. Ask Gregory for its NUC and RRBN letters before you pay acceptance, and compare UNN Medical Radiography and ESUT Radiography as alternatives.

Cut-off history at Gregory University
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024/2025 | 140 | Gregory minimum for screening, 2023 UTME | Official Gregory news page |
| 2025/2026 | 140 | Gregory minimum for screening, first choice | Reprint of Gregory notice (Myschool) |
| 2026/2027 | Not found | No Gregory notice with a score could be opened | Unconfirmed |
| 2026 (national) | 150 | JAMB minimum for all universities | Official |
The 140 figure is the floor for every course at Gregory, not a figure for one department. Because JAMB fixed 150 as the university minimum for 2026 admissions, I would not plan with 140 any more. Plan for at least 150, and read Gregory’s 2027/2028 notice the day it comes out.
Safe target score for Radiography at Gregory (my advice)
Gregory has not published admitted scores for any course. These bands are my judgement from how private universities in the South East fill health courses: the floor is low, but places in the allied health departments are limited and parents favour courses that lead to a licence.
| Your UTME score | My read for this course at Gregory |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible under JAMB’s 2026 rule |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible; a weak position for Radiography |
| 170 to 189 | Possible with strong science credits |
| 190 to 219 | Competitive |
| 220 and above | Strong |
Radiography sits at the meeting point of physics and medicine, so departments look closely at Physics. If your Physics grade is weak, Public Health or Medical Laboratory Science at Gregory may suit you better.
Gregory Radiography subject combination and O’level requirements
JAMB’s brochure entry for Radiography and Radiation Science, reprinted by Myschool, lists Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the UTME, with Use of English compulsory for everyone. The entry has no remark for Gregory University, so the general rules apply.
| UTME subject | Status |
|---|---|
| Use of English | Compulsory |
| Physics | Compulsory |
| Chemistry | Compulsory |
| Biology | Compulsory |
O’level rules
| Requirement | What applies at Gregory |
|---|---|
| Brochure rule | Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry |
| Gregory remark in the brochure | None |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (Gregory notice) |
| Sittings | Up to two sittings in Gregory’s general notice; one sitting is safer for a health course |
Mathematics and Physics carry weight here. Radiation physics, dosimetry and image formation all rely on calculation, so a bare pass in Mathematics will hurt you later even if it gets you through screening.
Direct Entry into Gregory Radiography
The brochure’s Direct Entry rule is two A level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. There is no Gregory remark, so the brochure does not say whether Gregory accepts ND, HND or degree holders for this course. Gregory does run a Direct Entry exercise each year, and it also runs JUPEB and IJMB programmes, which are common routes into 200 level. Ask the admissions office what level a DE candidate joins at before you buy the form.
How Gregory University screening works for Radiography and Radiation Science
Gregory runs one screening exercise for all its degree courses, and Radiography and Radiation Science applicants go through the same portal as everyone else. The details below come from the university’s 2024/2025 news page and the 2025/2026 notice as reprinted by Myschool. I could not find the 2026/2027 notice itself, although news headlines show the university advertised 2026/2027 Post-UTME, Direct Entry, transfer, JUPEB and IJMB admission.
| Detail | What Gregory published |
|---|---|
| Who could apply (2025/2026) | Candidates who scored 140 or more with Gregory University as first choice |
| Where to register | gregoryuniversityuturu.edu.ng/postutme |
| Uploads | Passport photograph (PDF), UTME result slip, O’level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) |
| O’level sittings | Up to two sittings allowed in the general notice |
| Fee | ₦2,000, non-refundable, paid online by ATM card (2025/2026) |
| Written test or interview | Not stated in any notice |
| Other entry routes | Direct Entry, inter-university transfer, JUPEB and IJMB (named in 2026/2027 headlines) |

No Gregory notice mentions a computer-based test, so do not pay anyone selling Gregory “past questions”. My working assumption is that the university ranks applicants on UTME score and O’level grades, then sends offers through JAMB CAPS. If a later notice adds a test or an interview, follow the notice.
Worked example: two Radiography and Radiation Science applicants
Gregory has not published an aggregate formula, so this example only compares scores with JAMB’s 150 floor and my target. It is illustrative.
Chiamaka scored 214 in the UTME. She has B2 in English, B3 in Mathematics, B3 in Physics, B2 in Chemistry and A1 in Biology from one WAEC sitting.
- Eligibility: 214 minus 150 = 64. Clear of the national floor, and well clear of Gregory’s old 140.
- Against my target: 214 minus 190 = 24 above the score I call safe.
- O’level check: all five required credits are in place.
- What to do: register on the Gregory portal as soon as it opens and accept the CAPS offer quickly.
Obinna scored 176. He has all five credits, but across two sittings and with C6 in Physics. He is eligible (176 minus 150 = 26) but 14 marks under my target. He should still register, and decide early whether he would take a related course if Gregory offers one through CAPS.
How to apply for Radiography and Radiation Science at Gregory University, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with Gregory as first choice: pick Radiography and Radiation Science and write Use of English with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The 2025/2026 notice addressed first-choice candidates, so if Gregory is not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. Awaiting result candidates must upload as soon as results are out, because CAPS will not treat you as qualified without them.
- Register on the Gregory portal: at gregoryuniversityuturu.edu.ng/postutme, fill the form and upload your passport (PDF), UTME result and O’level result.
- Pay the screening fee online: ₦2,000 in 2025/2026, by ATM card. Print the receipt and the completed form.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status and then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer before you pay anything to the school.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Gregory’s acceptance fee and tuition were not in any official source I reached. Pay only the amount on the invoice the university portal generates.
Warning
Gregory University’s website warns applicants to pay only through its official portals and says it has no admission agents. Real offers appear only on JAMB CAPS, so do not pay anyone who promises a Radiography and Radiation Science “slot” or a place on a “departmental list”.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, Gregory included, so anyone who applied this year should keep checking CAPS. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see there.
Studying Radiography and Radiation Science at Gregory
Gregory is a private university at Amaokwe-Achara, Uturu, in Isuikwuato LGA of Abia State, licensed in 2012 and founded by Prof. Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe, according to the university. Radiography sits in the College of Allied Health Sciences with Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, Optometry, Nursing and Physiotherapy. A feature in The Sun (20 April 2026) says a 1,000-bed teaching hospital at Ezinnachi is nearing completion, which matters for clinical postings in later years.
What you study
Gregory’s course outline for this degree was not online in any source I reached. A Nigerian B.Sc in Radiography usually covers:
- Basic sciences in the first year, then human anatomy, physiology and biochemistry
- Radiation physics, radiobiology and radiation protection
- Radiographic techniques and positioning for X-ray examinations
- Imaging methods such as ultrasound, CT and MRI
- Radiotherapy principles and patient care
- Clinical postings in hospital imaging departments and a final-year project
Duration, accreditation and licensing
B.Sc Radiography programmes in Nigeria normally run for five years; Gregory has not published its duration. I could not read Gregory’s line in NUC’s accreditation results, 1990 to 2025 publication, and no NUC report page for this programme turned up, so its NUC status is not confirmed. To practise, graduates register with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria. The Sun feature says Gregory’s health programmes are accredited by RRBN and other councils, but that is a feature article, not a board list. Ask for the letters at clearance.
Careers
- Diagnostic radiographer in public and private hospitals

Mistakes that cost Radiography applicants a Gregory place
- Writing Mathematics instead of Biology in the UTME: the combination is Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Planning with 140: JAMB’s 2026 university floor is 150.
- Skipping the Gregory portal: a good JAMB score alone does not put you on the list.
- Paying acceptance without asking about accreditation: request the NUC and RRBN letters first.
- Leaving the CAPS offer unaccepted: accept within the time JAMB allows.
Gregory University Radiography cut-off mark: frequently asked questions
Is 180 enough for Radiography at Gregory University? Yes for eligibility, since 180 is above JAMB’s 150 floor. It is under the 190 I treat as safe, so good one-sitting science credits will matter.
Does Gregory University write Post-UTME for Radiography? No Gregory notice mentions a written test. You register online, upload your documents and pay ₦2,000 (2025/2026 fee).
Is Radiography at Gregory University accredited? I could not confirm its NUC status, and RRBN approval appears only in a press feature. Ask the university for both letters before you pay acceptance.
Can I use awaiting result for Gregory Radiography? You can sit the UTME with awaiting result, but you must upload the result to CAPS and the Gregory portal before admission can be processed.
Sources and updates
The 140 minimum for 2024/2025, the portal and the phone lines come from Gregory University’s own news page, Gregory University Uturu Admissions Ongoing (19 August 2024). The 140 minimum for 2025/2026, the first-choice rule, the ₦2,000 fee and the upload list come from the 2025/2026 notice as reprinted by Myschool (24 July 2025); I could not open the original. The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s policy meeting (11 May 2026). The course name comes from Myschool reprint of JAMB course list for Gregory. The UTME, O’level and Direct Entry rules are from JAMB’s brochure entry for Radiography and Radiation Science as reprinted by Myschool; it has no Gregory remark. The college and department list comes from Gregory’s College of Allied Health Sciences page, and the institution facts from the university page. The teaching hospital and the council claims come from a feature in The Sun (20 April 2026). NUC’s accreditation results publication could not be read as far as Gregory, and no NUC report page or RRBN list naming this programme was found. Gregory has not published a departmental cut-off, an aggregate formula, fees or the course duration in any source I reached, and the target scores are my advice. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when Gregory releases its 2027/2028 screening notice.
