The Madonna University cut off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering is 150. Madonna’s 2026/2027 admission page makes 150 its general minimum and sets higher figures only for Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing, so this course, taught at the Akpugo campus in Enugu State, takes the 150 line, which is also JAMB’s national minimum for universities. For the 2027 UTME I advise aiming for 180.
2027/2028 update: Madonna University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Course check: the course is on Madonna’s JAMB course list under the exact name “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”, and the official Faculty of Engineering page, tagged Akpugo Campus, lists an Electrical/Electronics department. JAMB has no separate Akpugo entry: you register Madonna University and this course, and engineering students are taught at Akpugo.
Accreditation check: I could not confirm NUC or COREN accreditation for this course. The department page would not open, the faculty page shows only a general NUC “Approved” badge, and no NUC report naming Madonna Electrical/Electronics Engineering turned up. Ask the faculty for its current NUC and COREN letters before you pay.
Madonna University cut off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering: the figures that apply
Madonna publishes one general minimum and a short list of exceptions. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is not one of the exceptions, so the figure that applies is 150.
| Session | Figure | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021/2022 | 140 | Madonna’s minimum UTME score to apply (all courses listed in that notice) | Myschool reprint of Madonna’s admission notice, 1 February 2022 |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB’s national minimum for universities | JAMB 2025 policy meeting (Channels TV and Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB’s national minimum for universities | JAMB 2026 policy meeting (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | Madonna’s general minimum; only Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing carry higher figures | Official: Madonna admission page and undergraduate page |
| 2026/2027 | Not published | A separate figure for Electrical and Electronics Engineering | No Madonna notice gives one; Madonna was not on the list of institution cut-offs from the 2026 policy meeting |
Madonna’s two official pages disagree on the higher courses. The admission page lists Law 190, Medicine 180, Pharmacy 160 and Nursing 170, while the undergraduate page says those four need 200. Neither page names any engineering course, and both say 150 applies to everything else, so the conflict does not change the figure for engineering candidates at Akpugo. Aggregator pages that still print 140 are repeating the 2021/2022 notice; 140 is now below JAMB’s legal floor.
Safe target score for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Madonna (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, since Madonna publishes no departmental figure or admission statistics. Electrical and Electronics Engineering draws more applicants than most engineering courses because it leads into power, telecoms and electronics jobs, so I set the target a little above the other Akpugo courses.
| Your UTME score | My read for Madonna Electrical and Electronics Engineering |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any university place in the 2026/2027 session |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible to apply. Workable at a private university if your O’level is complete, but keep a second option ready |
| 170 to 179 | A fair chance, especially with credits in all five required subjects in one sitting |
| 180 and above | My safe target for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Madonna |
| 220 and above | Strong enough to compete for the course at most public universities in the South East too |
If you land between 150 and 169, still apply early. Private universities fill engineering places over several CAPS batches, and the earlier your record is complete, the better.
Madonna University Electrical and Electronics Engineering subject combination and O’level requirements
I checked the course on Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB brochure for Electrical/Electronics Engineering. The page carries remarks for other universities but none for Madonna, so JAMB’s general rules apply.
| Requirement | Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Madonna |
|---|---|
| Course name to pick on JAMB | Electrical / Electronics Engineering (under Madonna University) |
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry |
| O’level credits (JAMB) | Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject |
| O’level sittings (Madonna) | Not more than two sittings; English and Mathematics compulsory |
| Direct Entry (JAMB) | Two A level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry |
| Madonna remark in the brochure | None |
There is no choice in the UTME: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are fixed. For the fifth O’level credit, Further Mathematics, Biology, Technical Drawing or Agricultural Science all count as “any other science”. I would pick Further Mathematics if your school offers it, because it carries straight into the first-year engineering mathematics.
Points Electrical and Electronics Engineering applicants get wrong
- Writing Biology in place of Chemistry: a few universities accept Biology in the UTME for this course, but Madonna is not one of them. Register Chemistry.
- A pass in Physics or Chemistry: both must be credits. A D7 in either will stop you at CAPS no matter your score.
- Choosing the polytechnic version: JAMB also has “Electrical / Electronics Engineering Technology” for polytechnics. Madonna’s list has only “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”.
- Three sittings: Madonna accepts results from not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry into Electrical and Electronics Engineering
JAMB’s general Direct Entry line is two A level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Madonna’s Computer and Petroleum Engineering pages add that OND and HND holders with at least an upper credit are considered for 200 and 300 level, and the Chemical Engineering page says Direct Entry students finish in four years. The Electrical/Electronics page could not be opened, so ask the faculty whether the same OND and HND rule applies before you register Direct Entry with JAMB. You still need the five O’level credits above.
How Madonna screens Electrical and Electronics Engineering applicants
Madonna does not advertise a written post-UTME examination. Its admission page says the screening and admission forms are free and that every fresh applicant for 2026/2027 pays a ₦30,000 medical test fee. You generate an invoice on the portal (it begins with MNT), then pay through Quickteller or at any commercial bank. Legit.ng reported the same fee on 14 September 2026. Older blog posts mention a ₦6,000 medical fee paid at Mayfresh Mortgage Bank; that is the old arrangement, so follow the portal invoice.
| Screening item | What Madonna has published |
|---|---|
| Form fee | Screening and admission forms are free (official admission page) |
| Portal | madonna.skool-board.com; log in with your applicant number as username and your first name as password |
| Medical test fee | ₦30,000 for every fresh 2026/2027 applicant, paid with a portal invoice through Quickteller or any commercial bank |
| Medical examination and interview | Selected candidates do a medical examination and an oral interview at the admissions office of the campus they chose (undergraduate page) |
| Written post-UTME test | None described on either official page |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
| Awaiting result | Allowed, provided the result is available on resumption |
| Admission list | Offers appear on JAMB CAPS; Madonna has not published list dates |
Worked example for an Electrical and Electronics Engineering candidate
Madonna publishes no formula, so the safest test is against the 150 floor, my 180 target and the brochure rules.
Chukwuemeka scored 186 with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. He has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Further Mathematics from two sittings (WAEC and NECO).
- Legal floor: 186 is above 150.
- My safe target: 186 clears 180 by six marks.
- UTME subjects: the combination matches JAMB’s line exactly.
- O’level: all five required credits, from two sittings, which Madonna allows. He qualifies and moves on to the medical test and interview.
Illustration only: many Nigerian universities rank candidates with a 50:50 aggregate, where the UTME score divided by 8 gives up to 50 points and screening gives the rest. On that method Chukwuemeka’s 186 would be worth 23.25 points. Madonna has not said it uses this or any formula.
Is Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Madonna accredited?
Not confirmed. NUC publishes a report page for each accreditation visit. NUC’s report pages for Madonna (listed as Madonna University, Okija) cover Anatomy, Physiology, Marketing and Business Education, all graded Full in November 2024; I found none for Electrical/Electronics Engineering or any other engineering course. NUC’s full results list, Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025, stops being readable at Crawford University, before Madonna. COREN’s published visit reports do not include Madonna either.
The faculty page says its curricula follow COREN’s registration standards, and the older Engineering Faculty page says graduates qualify to register with COREN. Neither is an accreditation statement. An engineering degree needs both NUC and COREN accreditation for a smooth path to COREN registration, so ask the faculty for both current letters, and check that they name Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
How to apply for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Madonna, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number linked to your NIN.
- Register the right course: pick Madonna University and the course listed by JAMB as “Electrical / Electronics Engineering”, with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus Use of English. If Madonna was not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution; JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre as soon as your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. Madonna lets awaiting-result candidates apply, but CAPS cannot carry an offer until the upload is done.
- Create your Madonna applicant account: on the portal at madonna.skool-board.com, choose Electrical and Electronics Engineering and note your applicant number.
- Pay the medical test fee: generate the ₦30,000 MNT invoice on the portal and pay through Quickteller or a commercial bank. Keep the receipt.
- Attend the medical examination and oral interview: at the admissions office of the campus you chose. For engineering, ask whether it holds at Akpugo.
- Check and accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept or reject offers in 2026. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay school charges to Madonna only: Madonna has not published an acceptance fee. Ask the bursary for the full first-year bill in writing and pay only through the portal or channels it names.
Admission outside CAPS is illegal
JAMB and the News Agency of Nigeria have both stated that any admission given outside CAPS is illegal. A real Madonna offer always shows on your JAMB CAPS page, so do not pay anyone who promises a place in exchange for money.
Studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Madonna
The faculty page sums up the department as the study of power systems, electronic circuits and control engineering for industrial use. Madonna’s other engineering department pages describe five-year B.Eng degrees for UTME entrants, and that is the standard length for this course in Nigeria. The layout below is the usual shape of the degree, since Madonna has not published its course outline.
| Stage | What you usually study |
|---|---|
| 100 and 200 level | Engineering mathematics, physics, chemistry, workshop practice, technical drawing, basic circuit theory and general studies |
| 300 level | Electrical machines, analogue and digital electronics, signals and systems, electromagnetic fields, measurements |
| 400 level | Power systems, control engineering, communication engineering, microprocessors, and industrial training (SIWES) |
| 500 level | Options in power, electronics, telecoms or control, and a final-year project |
Careers after Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Graduates work with electricity distribution and generation companies, telecoms operators, manufacturing plants, oil and gas service firms, building services consultancies and equipment vendors. Many move into embedded systems, solar installation or instrumentation. To practise as a registered engineer in Nigeria you register with COREN after the required years of experience.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering school fees at Madonna
Madonna’s fees page could not be opened. Legit.ng’s Madonna fees article (updated 5 May 2026) shows ₦370,000 for the first semester and ₦230,000 for the second, ₦600,000 in all, against Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the other engineering courses, but the table carries no session label. Treat it as a rough guide and ask the bursary for the current bill, including hostel, laboratory and medical charges.

Mistakes that cost Electrical and Electronics Engineering applicants a Madonna place
- Planning with 140: that is the 2021/2022 figure. The legal floor is 150.
- Skipping the CAPS upload: Madonna can let you apply while awaiting results, but CAPS cannot carry the offer until the result is uploaded.
- Paying acceptance before the accreditation question: ask for the NUC and COREN letters first.
- Missing the private university deadline: JAMB set 30 November 2026 for the 2026/2027 session.

Madonna University cut off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering: FAQs
What is the Madonna University cut off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering?
150. Madonna’s 2026/2027 admission page uses 150 for every course except Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing. I advise aiming for 180 to be safe.
Can I use Biology instead of Chemistry for Electrical Engineering at Madonna?
No. JAMB’s line for the course is Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and Madonna has no remark allowing Biology. Biology can only be your fifth O’level credit.
Is Madonna University Electrical Engineering in Okija or Akpugo?
Akpugo. Madonna’s Faculty of Engineering page is tagged Akpugo Campus and lists the Electrical/Electronics department, so lectures hold in Akpugo, Enugu State.
Is Madonna Electrical and Electronics Engineering accredited by COREN?
I could not confirm it. Neither NUC’s report pages nor COREN’s published visit reports show a result for the course, so ask the faculty for both letters before paying acceptance.
