The short answer on the Maduka University Physiology cut-off mark: Maduka’s minimum for every course in 2026/2027 is 150, but I could not confirm that it admits students into a B.Sc. Physiology degree at all. Physiology does not appear on the university’s 2026/2027 tuition list, its 2025/2026 fee list or the copy of its JAMB course list I could open. One blog (Teezab, 16 July 2026) lists it, without naming a source.
2027/2028 update: Maduka University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
If you have your heart set on Physiology, do two things before registering: confirm with Maduka in writing that a Physiology degree is admitting, and check that it is listed under Maduka on JAMB’s portal. Otherwise, choose one of the routes below. Maduka has health courses built on physiology, and UNN, ABSU and Gregory University run Physiology degrees.

The weight of evidence says Maduka is not yet admitting into a stand-alone Physiology degree. Physiology is certainly taught at Maduka, because Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and the other health degrees all include it. That is different from a B.Sc. Physiology you can register on JAMB.
This matters because JAMB only lets a university admit you into courses on its JAMB list, through CAPS. The News Agency of Nigeria reported in May 2026 that JAMB treats admissions outside CAPS as illegal.
Checks to make before you choose Maduka for Physiology
- JAMB portal: during registration, have the CBT operator open Maduka University’s course list. Look for “Physiology” or “Human Physiology”.
- The university: ask the admissions office in writing whether B.Sc. Physiology is admitting this session and which JAMB name to register.
- The fee schedule: look for a Physiology line on the official schedule on the portal. No fee line usually means no intake.
- CAPS: treat nothing as an admission until it shows on CAPS.
Physiology alternatives
At Maduka: courses built on physiology
| Maduka course | Link to physiology | 2026/2027 fee (reported) |
|---|---|---|
| Maduka University Physiotherapy cut-off mark | Exercise and neuromuscular physiology are central | ₦900,000 |
| Maduka University cut-off mark for Medical Laboratory Science | Clinical chemistry and haematology rest on physiology | ₦1,200,000 |
| Maduka University cut-off mark for Nursing Science | Physiology runs through the first years | ₦1,710,000 |
| Maduka University Public Health cut-off mark | Population health, with physiology in the early years | ₦900,000 |
Physiology degrees elsewhere
- UNN Physiology cut-off mark: UNN screens from 160 and has published no Physiology cut-off.
- ABSU Physiology cut-off mark: minimum 150.
- Gregory University Physiology cut-off mark: private, with JAMB’s 150 floor.
ESUT, the other big university in Enugu, listed Anatomy but not Physiology in its 2026/2027 advert, so it is not an option for Physiology this session.
Safe target score (my advice)
| Route | Published minimum | My target |
|---|---|---|
| Maduka Physiotherapy, MLS or Public Health | 150 | 170 or more |
| Maduka Nursing Science | 150 | 200 or more |
| ABSU or Gregory Physiology | 150 | 170 or more |
| UNN Physiology | 160 to screen | 220 or more |
These are my judgements, not published cut-offs. At a private university, once you clear 150, your O’level grades and readiness to pay usually decide the outcome. At UNN, screening is competitive and the 160 minimum only gets you in the door, so you need a higher score.
Worked example
- Somto scored 168 and wants Physiology: 168 minus 150 = 18 above Maduka’s minimum. With Physiology unconfirmed at Maduka, I would register ABSU or Gregory for Physiology, or Maduka for Physiotherapy if staying near Nsukka matters more than the exact degree.
- Uche scored 231: 231 minus 160 = 71 above UNN’s screening minimum. UNN Physiology is realistic, and the score also clears every Maduka health course.
UTME and O’level for Physiology
| Requirement | JAMB general rule for Physiology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology |
| Direct Entry | Two A level passes from Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Zoology |
| Maduka remark | None |
These are JAMB’s general brochure requirements for Physiology, as reprinted by Myschool. They match the subjects for Maduka’s health courses, so registering them keeps all your options open. Revise with our JAMB Chemistry syllabus and JAMB Biology syllabus.
Applying to a Maduka health course, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right course: Register a course you have seen listed under Maduka University on JAMB’s portal, with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Make Maduka University your first choice. If it is not, do a JAMB change of institution before you apply.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB-accredited centre, with every sitting you want counted. Without it the university cannot recommend you on CAPS.
- Fill Maduka’s online form: reports describe the steps as creating a profile, uploading your UTME result and O’level, choosing the programme, paying the ₦5,000 form fee and printing the slip. Start from the official website, madukauniversity.edu.ng, and pick the same course on the form.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer there before you pay the school. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and fees: the acceptance fee is reported as ₦50,000 and non-refundable. Reports say tuition can be paid in two instalments of 60% and 40%. Pay only into accounts shown on the official portal.
Warning
Do not pay anyone for a Maduka Physiology “slot”. If the course is not on JAMB’s list for Maduka, no real offer can appear on CAPS, and an offer outside CAPS is not valid.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities.
Mistakes to avoid
- Trusting a single course list: one blog listing Physiology is not proof that Maduka admits into it.
- Registering an unlisted course: if Physiology is not under Maduka on JAMB’s portal, CAPS cannot carry the offer.
- Dropping Physics: JAMB’s combination for Physiology and for Maduka’s health courses is Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Forgetting the O’level upload: no university can recommend you on CAPS without it.
What a Physiology degree involves
This is a general description of B.Sc. Physiology in Nigeria, not a Maduka syllabus.
- Length: usually four years.
- Content: how the body’s systems work: cell, nerve and muscle physiology, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, endocrine and reproductive physiology, plus laboratory and research methods.
- Careers: university teaching and research, clinical and pharmaceutical research, sports and exercise science, medical sales, and postgraduate study. Some graduates later move into Medicine.
Maduka University Physiology: frequently asked questions
Does Maduka University offer Physiology as a course? I could not confirm it. Physiology is missing from Maduka’s 2026/2027 and 2025/2026 fee lists and from the copy of its JAMB list I could read.
What is the cut-off mark for Physiology in Maduka University? No Physiology figure exists. Maduka’s general minimum for 2026/2027 is 150, which would apply if the course is offered.
Can I study Physiology in Enugu State? UNN runs Physiology and screens from 160. ESUT’s 2026/2027 advert did not include Physiology.
What can I study at Maduka instead of Physiology? Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science and Public Health use the same UTME subjects and appear on the 2026/2027 fee list.
