Maduka University Cut-Off Mark for Pharmacy 2027/2028: Requirements, Subject Combination and Screening

Maduka’s 2026/2027 minimum is 150 for all courses, with no separate Pharmacy figure. Pharmacy (Pharm.D) is on the JAMB-style list but Maduka is not on PCN’s accredited list. Safe target, subjects, fees and CAPS steps.

The Maduka University cut off mark for Pharmacy is 150 in the UTME. Maduka’s 2026/2027 admission announcement, as reported by Myschool News on 15 May 2026, gives a single minimum of 150 in the UTME “as approved for the 2026/2027 Session”, which is also JAMB’s minimum for every Nigerian university this year. There is no separate, higher Pharmacy score, and Maduka did not declare one at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, so treat 150 as the door and aim well above it.

2027/2028 update: Maduka University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Pharmacy is on the JAMB-style course list for Maduka that I checked, and the JAMB course name to register is Pharmacy. Maduka’s own programme list describes the degree as Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy). One concern before you choose it: Maduka is not on the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria’s list of accredited universities. In Enugu State, UNN and ESUT are on that list. This page covers the figures, a safe target, subjects, the PCN position, fees and the CAPS steps.

Some sites print “180 and above” for Maduka Pharmacy. Campus Ninja, the source I found for that figure, calls it an estimate based on trends and cites no Maduka notice; it also gives a general cut-off of 140, which is below JAMB’s floor. Use 150 as the legal minimum and my safe target below as your planning score.

Safe target score for Maduka Pharmacy (my advice)

Maduka has not published its Pharmacy intake or the lowest admitted score. The table is my judgement.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Maduka Pharmacy
Below 150Not eligible for any university in 2026/2027
150 to 179Eligible, but weak for a Pharm.D
180 to 209Possible with strong O’level science grades
210 to 229Competitive
230 and aboveStrong. 220 and above also clears ESUT’s published Pharmacy minimum

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 210, and 220 if ESUT is your backup.

UTME subject combination and O’level for Maduka Pharmacy

RequirementPharmacy
UTME subjectsUse of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
SittingsMaduka has not published a rule; one sitting is safer
Direct EntryThree A-level passes in Chemistry, Biology or Zoology, and Physics or Mathematics, plus the UTME O’level requirements
Maduka-specific remarkNone in the JAMB brochure

These come from the JAMB brochure entry for Pharmacy as reprinted by Myschool. Chemistry carries Pharmacy, so a weak Chemistry grade hurts more here than anywhere else. If your O’level Chemistry is C6, consider a resit before 2027.

PCN accreditation and what it means

Pharmacists are registered by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, which accredits university pharmacy programmes. I checked PCN’s list of accredited universities: it has 25 entries, and Maduka University is not among them. The Enugu entries are the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Enugu State University of Science and Technology. The page has no date and its metadata suggests it was last edited in 2024, so it may not show the newest programmes. PCN’s August 2026 “From the Registrar’s Desk” newsletter also has no mention of Maduka.

A new Pharm.D programme normally starts with NUC approval and then goes through PCN visits before its first graduates are inducted. Maduka itself only admitted its first students in late 2023, so no Maduka pharmacy class has reached graduation or induction yet. Before you accept, ask Maduka whether the PCN has approved or visited the programme, and keep that answer in writing.

Maduka’s first NUC accreditation results came from an exercise in October to December 2025. According to the university’s press release on its NUC results (29 July 2026), seven programmes earned full accreditation: Accounting, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Economics and International Relations, with scores between 84.8% and 97.0%, valid until 2030. No health programme was among them. New programmes are usually accredited once their first students reach the later years, so the absence is expected for a university this young.

How Maduka screens Pharmacy applicants

Maduka has not published a Post-UTME test, an aggregate formula or screening dates for Pharmacy. None of the 2026/2027 reports mentions a written test. What they describe is an online application: you buy the form, enter your UTME and O’level details, choose a programme and print a slip. After that the university decides and sends its offer through JAMB CAPS. Direct Entry and inter-university transfer candidates are also accepted.

So for a Maduka applicant, the three things that carry weight are the ones you can control: a UTME score comfortably above 150, clean O’level credits in the right subjects, and a complete CAPS profile. If Maduka invites you for a test or interview, the invitation will come from the university directly; ignore anyone who asks for money to “process” it.

Worked example

No Maduka aggregate exists, so compare your score with 150 and with my 210 target. This is an illustration.

  1. Kosisochukwu scored 224: 224 minus 150 = 74 above the minimum and 14 above my target. With B2 or better in Chemistry, she is competitive, and 224 also clears ESUT’s 220.
  2. Obinna scored 185: 185 minus 150 = 35 above the minimum, 25 below my target. He should still apply, and think about a related course if Maduka offers a change on CAPS.
  3. Both: confirm the PCN position with the university before paying acceptance.

How to apply to Maduka for Pharmacy

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN, then take the code to an accredited CBT centre.
  2. Register the right course: pick Pharmacy with Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If Maduka is not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before the university starts processing admissions.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB office or accredited centre, have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded so it shows on your CAPS profile. If you wrote two sittings, upload both.
  4. Apply on Maduka’s portal: blogs describe the steps as creating a profile, entering your UTME and O’level details, choosing your programme, paying the form fee (₦5,000 in the 2026/2027 reports) and printing the slip. The enquiry details in the university’s July 2026 press release point to admissions.madukauniversity.edu.ng.
  5. Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept or reject an offer there; an offer that is not on CAPS is not a valid admission.
  6. Pay acceptance and register: the 2026/2027 reports put Maduka’s acceptance fee at ₦50,000, non-refundable, with tuition payable in two instalments on a 60/40 basis. Confirm the amounts on the portal before you pay, and print your JAMB admission letter for clearance.

Warning

Pay Maduka fees only through the university’s portal or bursary. Its management has warned that dealings with anyone who is not an authorised representative are at your own risk, and every real offer appears on JAMB CAPS.

JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026). Public universities had 31 October 2026, and polytechnics and colleges of education have until 31 December 2026. Any Maduka offer for 2026/2027 has to be on CAPS before the private-university date.

If your UTME score falls short, Maduka also runs IJMB and Pre-Degree programmes (reported by Daily Post and summarised on Wikipedia). The 2026/2027 fee reports put its IJMB at ₦800,000 for two semesters, paid at once. IJMB A-level results are one of the routes into 200 level through Direct Entry at many Nigerian universities. Ask Maduka in writing which degree courses its IJMB students can move into before you pay.

Studying Pharmacy at Maduka University

Maduka University is a private university at Ekwegbe, on the Enugu to Nsukka road in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. It was founded by Dr Samuel Maduka Onyishi, received its NUC licence in 2023 and began its first session in November 2023 with 611 students. The Vice-Chancellor is Prof. Charles Ogbulogo. The 2026/2027 announcement groups the health courses under a College of Medicine and Health Sciences, with Nursing Science and Pharmacy reported as separate faculties.

What a Pharm.D involves

  • Duration: Nigerian Pharm.D programmes run for six years; Maduka has not stated its own length.
  • Early years: chemistry, biology and physics, then pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy.
  • Later years: pharmacology, clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice, with hospital and community placements.
  • After graduation: PCN induction, a one-year internship and registration as a pharmacist.
  • Careers: hospital and community pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory work and research.
  • Fees reported: ₦1,710,000 a session for 2026/2027, up from ₦1,100,000 in 2025/2026, payable 60/40. Confirm with the bursary.

Mistakes Pharmacy applicants make with Maduka

  • Taking 150 as the Pharmacy score: it is the minimum for any university.
  • Not asking about PCN: the council’s approval is what leads to registration as a pharmacist.
  • Weak Chemistry: a credit is the minimum; a strong grade helps.
  • Missing O’level on CAPS: no CAPS offer can be made without it.
  • Leaving it late: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities.

Sources and updates

The national minimum of 150 and the 30 November 2026 private-university deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria (11 May 2026), and News Central’s list of institution-declared cut-offs from the same meeting has no Maduka entry. Maduka’s 2026/2027 minimum of 150, its College of Medicine and Health Sciences and the 2026/2027 fees, form fee, acceptance fee and 60/40 instalments come from the university’s 2026/2027 admission announcement as reported by Myschool News (15 May 2026) and The Vent Republic (14 May 2026). I did not see the original notice, because the university’s own website could not be reached. Earlier figures are from AndroidPols (16 November 2025, 2025/2026 fees and 150) and AbsTechConnect (24 May 2026), and Maduka’s programme list by college is from Teezab (16 July 2026). The NUC results for seven programmes are from the university’s press release on its NUC results (29 July 2026). School background is from TheCable and Nairametrics (2023 and 2024), Daily Post (April 2025) and Wikipedia. The JAMB course-list check used universitycourses.ng (updated 1 March 2026) and Myschoolnews (19 July 2023). Subjects are from the JAMB brochure entry for Pharmacy. PCN status is from PCN’s list of accredited universities and the PCN Registrar’s newsletter for August 2026. Campus Ninja’s figures are unofficial. Checked on 30 October 2026; this page will be updated if Maduka publishes a Pharmacy cut-off or the PCN lists the programme.
