The Peaceland University Software Engineering cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME. That is JAMB’s national minimum for universities for 2026/2027, and Peaceland University, Enugu has not published any higher figure for Software Engineering. The course is on Peaceland’s JAMB list as Software Engineering, so you can choose it directly on your JAMB profile.
2027/2028 update: Peaceland University cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Software Engineering sits in Peaceland’s Faculty of Science and Computing, next to Computer Science and Cyber Security. Below you will find the official minimum, a safe target score (my advice), the JAMB brochure subjects, what Peaceland has said about screening, a worked example, the CAPS steps, what the degree covers and where it stands on accreditation.

Software Engineering cut-off history at Peaceland
| Session | Figure | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities. No Peaceland course figure |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities (July 2025). No Peaceland figure found |
Peaceland began as a university in 2023, growing out of Peaceland College of Education, Enugu (the college still runs separately). It has not built up a record of departmental cut-offs, and none appears in News Central TV’s list of 2026 university cut-offs. Treat any “Peaceland Software Engineering cut-off” from a blog as an estimate unless it links to a Peaceland document.
Safe target score for Software Engineering at Peaceland (my advice)
This is my judgement, based on how new private universities in Enugu usually fill computing places. It is not a Peaceland rule.
| Your UTME score | My read for Peaceland |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any Nigerian university degree this cycle |
| 150 to 169 | Eligible. Fine if your O’level grades are good, but have a second option ready |
| 170 to 189 | Comfortable for a new private university |
| 190 to 219 | Strong. You would also clear ESUT’s 200 line at the top of this range |
| 220 and above | Very strong. You have real choices among Enugu universities |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 170 or more, with strong credits in Mathematics and Physics. Software Engineering is programming-heavy from the first year, and the Mathematics grade tells a screening panel more about your chances in the course than a few extra UTME marks do. If your score lands near 200, compare Peaceland with ESUT, where Software Engineering needed 200 in 2026/2027.
Is Software Engineering on Peaceland’s JAMB course list?
Yes. Myschool’s reprint of Peaceland University’s JAMB course list, which I checked on 30 October 2026, includes Software Engineering among its 30 courses. Register it exactly as Software Engineering under Peaceland University. If you registered Computer Science and later want Software Engineering, you need a JAMB change of course before Peaceland can offer it to you on CAPS; our JAMB change of course guide explains how.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Peaceland Software Engineering
| Requirement | Software Engineering (JAMB brochure, general entry) |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics and Physics, plus two other science subjects |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (JAMB’s usual list; Peaceland has not published a sitting rule) |
| Direct Entry | Two A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other science or social science subject |
| Peaceland remark | None. The brochure page names no special rule for Peaceland |
The brochure page carries special rules for other universities, not Peaceland. FUTA asks for Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, and the American University of Nigeria asks for Mathematics, Chemistry and one of Physics, Biology or Geography. Chemistry as your fourth UTME subject keeps every one of those doors open, which is why I recommend it.
Direct Entry
JAMB’s general DE line is two A-level passes in science subjects including Mathematics, or NCE merit in Mathematics and one other science or social science subject. Several universities on the brochure page also accept ND holders, but Peaceland has not published its DE rules, so confirm before you register.
Peaceland screening for Software Engineering
In the sources I could reach, Peaceland has not published a Post-UTME test, screening date or aggregate formula for 2026/2027. Its April 2026 notice only announced that admission was open and listed programmes. Expect an online application with your UTME and O’level details, and be ready for a short test or interview if the portal schedules one.
Worked example for a Software Engineering candidate (illustration only)
Peaceland has not published a screening formula. Many Nigerian universities combine the UTME score with O’level grades, so here is one common method, used only to show how your numbers could add up. It is not Peaceland’s rule.
- UTME part: UTME score divided by 8, out of 50.
- O’level part: five relevant subjects scored A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6, C6 = 5, out of 50.
Tobenna scored 178 in the UTME and has A1 in Mathematics, B3 in English, B2 in Physics, C5 in Chemistry and C6 in Biology from one sitting.
- UTME part: 178 ÷ 8 = 22.25.
- O’level part: 38 out of 50.
- Illustrative total: 22.25 + 38 = 60.25 out of 100.
- Against the minimum: 178 minus 150 = 28. Tobenna clears JAMB’s line by 28 marks.
If Peaceland sets a test or an interview, that score would change the picture. What does not change is that the O’level carries real weight under most methods, so a C6 in Mathematics or Physics hurts more than a few UTME marks.
How to apply for Software Engineering at Peaceland, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: pick Software Engineering as the course and Peaceland University as the institution, with Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics or Geography.
- Fix your choice if you chose another school: if Peaceland was not your choice in the 2026 UTME, do a JAMB change of institution before you apply. Peaceland can only offer you admission through CAPS if it is on your JAMB profile.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to a JAMB-accredited CBT centre and have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded. A university cannot recommend you on CAPS without it.
- Apply to Peaceland: Peaceland’s 2026/2027 advert pointed candidates to its online application portal at apply.peacelanduni.edu.ng. The university’s fee schedule lists the admission form at ₦10,000; no screening date has been published, so read the instructions on the portal itself.
- Attend screening and print everything: keep your UTME result slip, O’level results, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and the application acknowledgement together.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept only an offer for the course you want. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and school fees through official channels: Peaceland’s fee schedule lists acceptance at ₦10,000 and a total of ₦320,000 at 100 level and ₦440,000 at 200 and 300 level, with tuition payable 60% and then 40%. Pay only through the official portal or the Admissions Office.
Warning
Adverts that sell Peaceland University forms or “admission slots” through private phone numbers and agents circulate online. JAMB says any admission outside CAPS is illegal, so a genuine Peaceland offer will show on your CAPS page. Apply only through the university’s own portal and pay only into accounts the university confirms in writing.
JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, the News Agency of Nigeria reported on 11 May 2026. Until then Peaceland can still recommend 2026/2027 candidates on CAPS. If you are preparing for 2027/2028, start with when JAMB 2027 registration starts.
What Software Engineering covers
Peaceland has not published a course outline. Under NUC’s computing standards Software Engineering is a separate B.Sc. from Computer Science, normally four years. Where Computer Science spends more time on theory, Software Engineering puts more weight on how large programs are planned, built, tested and maintained by teams.
- Early levels: mathematics, physics, programming fundamentals, discrete structures and general studies.
- Middle levels: object-oriented programming, data structures, databases, requirements engineering, software design and architecture, web and mobile development, then SIWES industrial training.
- Final year: software testing and quality, project management, maintenance and evolution, and a team or individual project.
- Careers: software developer, mobile or web engineer, quality assurance and test engineer, DevOps, product and project roles in tech firms, banks and government, or postgraduate study.
Accreditation
Peaceland announced full NUC accreditation for Software Engineering after NUC’s October/November 2025 exercise. It is one of 17 programmes on the list reported by Uniblog NG on 23 April 2026, and the university’s own news post of 1 May 2026 confirms the full accreditation of “Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Accountancy, and several others”. I found no NUC report page for the programme, so the status rests on the university’s announcement.
The NUC reports online under the Peaceland name cover Peaceland College of Education, Enugu and its degrees affiliated to Abia State University, so they do not apply to the university. Graduates of computing degrees can register with the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).

Mistakes Software Engineering applicants make
- Picking Computer Science on JAMB and hoping to switch later: the course on your profile is the one Peaceland can offer.
- Weak Mathematics: a C6 in Mathematics hurts more than a slightly lower UTME score.
- Leaving out Physics: it is compulsory in both the UTME and the O’level.
- O’level not on CAPS: Peaceland cannot recommend you without it.
- Paying for a “slot”: genuine offers appear on CAPS.
