FCE Eha-Amufu has no UTME cut-off mark for Christian Religious Studies (NCE) under the current rules. Since the policy meeting of 11 May 2026, NCE candidates with at least four O’level credit passes do not sit the UTME. You register with JAMB through its special NCE registration, Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu recommends you, and JAMB confirms the offer on CAPS. The last numeric minimum was 100, JAMB’s national figure for colleges of education in 2025/2026. The college has never published a separate figure for CRS.
2027/2028 update: FCE Eha-Amufu admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the details on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notices (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.
At Eha-Amufu, CRS is reported only as half of a two-subject NCE: with English, Igbo, Social Studies or Music. I found no CRS double major on the course lists. Below are the O’level credits I would want for each pairing, the JAMB NCE registration and fees, how the college selects, a worked example and where the certificate leads.

CRS cut-off mark history at FCE Eha-Amufu
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | No UTME score required | UTME exemption for NCE candidates with at least four O’level credits; JAMB registration and CAPS still apply | Official national policy (11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum UTME score for colleges of education | Official national figure (JAMB, July 2025) |
| 2021/2022 | 100 | Minimum UTME score in the college’s NCE screening advert | College advert as reprinted by Myschool (October 2021) |
| Older years (blogs) | 100, or “110 and above” | Figures blogs print for the whole college | Unofficial; not tied to any college notice |
None of these is a CRS figure. They applied to every NCE course at the college. A page that tells you the “FCE Eha-Amufu cut-off mark for CRS” is 100 or 110 for the current session is repeating a college-wide number from the years when NCE still went through the UTME. Today the deciding factor is your O’level result and the college’s own selection, and the college has not said how many CRS places it has.
CRS combinations at FCE Eha-Amufu
These four pairings come from Schoolings.org (2018, updated 2020) and O3schools’ January 2026 course list. Neither is an official college list, so check the JAMB NCE registration screen before you pay.
| Combination | Credits I would make sure you have (my advice) | Suits you if |
|---|---|---|
| CRS/English | English, Mathematics, CRS, Literature in English | You are strong in English and Literature |
| CRS/Igbo | English, Mathematics, CRS, Igbo | You speak and write Igbo well |
| CRS/Social Studies | English, Mathematics, CRS, plus Civic Education, Government or Economics | Your other strengths are social sciences |
| Music/CRS | English, Mathematics, CRS, Music (or proof of musical training) | You sing or play and are active in church music |
A CRS credit is the one subject you cannot do without here. A candidate with four credits that leave out CRS meets the count but gives the college no reason to place them in a CRS pairing. The college has not published a subject-by-subject list, so treat the table as advice.
O’level requirements for CRS Education (NCE)
The national floor is four O’level credit passes. FCE Eha-Amufu’s own advert, as reprinted by o3schools in January 2026 (I could not reach it on a college page), asks for four credits in not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics, with two of the credits relevant to your chosen course. WAEC, NECO and GCE results are accepted. The same reprint also lists a Grade II Teacher’s Certificate with credit or merit in four subjects as an alternative.
For CRS pairings, the two relevant credits are CRS itself and the subject of your second teaching area. Mathematics is compulsory even though CRS is an arts course, and arts candidates often miss it.
Safe target in place of a cut-off
This is consultant advice, not a college rule.
| Your O’level | My read for CRS at Eha-Amufu |
|---|---|
| No CRS credit | Weak for any CRS pairing; consider Social Studies instead |
| Four credits including English, Mathematics and CRS | Eligible; strength depends on the second subject |
| Five credits including CRS and the second subject, one sitting | Solid |
| CRS at B3 or better, plus a credit in the second subject, one sitting | Strong; this is what I would aim for |
UTME subjects, if you write the UTME anyway
The UTME is not needed for NCE. If you also want a university option, JAMB’s brochure entry for Education and Christian Religious Studies (Myschool reprint) lists two Arts subjects including Religious Studies and one other subject, with Use of English compulsory. The same entry asks for five O’level credits, including English Language, Religious Studies and three other Arts subjects, and several universities add Mathematics. Confirm on the current JAMB e-brochure.
Direct Entry
There is no Direct Entry into the NCE itself. JAMB’s June 2026 guideline also stopped admission at 100 or 200 level into any college of education except through the NCE, and ended admissions into affiliated degree programmes in colleges of education. That includes Eha-Amufu’s UNN-affiliated B.Ed. After the NCE, Direct Entry works in your favour: you can use the certificate to apply for a degree at a university.
How to apply for CRS at FCE Eha-Amufu
These steps follow JAMB’s 2026/2027 special registration flow for NCE and ND. FCE Eha-Amufu has a JAMB registration centre (IPRC) on campus, so you can register there or at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre.
- Get an O’level verification code: buy it from your exam body’s verification site. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two, and the two sittings can be from different exam bodies (WAEC and NECO, for example).
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the line linked to your NIN.
- Create or open your e-Facility account: use the profile code at efacility.jamb.gov.ng if you do not already have a JAMB profile.
- Register for NCE at a CBT centre, PRC or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, present your verification code, choose your NCE course (the CRS pairing you want) and pick three colleges of education. Put Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu as your first choice, because your registration goes to your first-choice college. If you already registered for another school, read our JAMB change of institution guide.
- Upload your O’level results: the centre uploads them and captures your photograph and fingerprints. If your results are not out, mark Awaiting Results and upload them as soon as they are released. The college cannot recommend you until they are uploaded.
- Do the college’s own screening if it calls for one: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its 2026/2027 screening notice in any source I could reach. Watch the college’s announcements and pay any form fee only through an invoice from the college portal.
- College recommends you on CAPS: the Admission Officer proposes you and the Provost recommends you to JAMB’s CAPS, which then checks your O’level against the exam body’s records.
- Accept the offer on CAPS and print your admission letter: log in to e-Facility, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept quickly, because JAMB withdraws offers not accepted within four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and school charges, then clear: FCE Eha-Amufu has not published its acceptance fee officially. One blog quotes ₦5,000 through Remita; treat that as unconfirmed and pay only after generating an invoice on the college’s own portal.
JAMB fees for NCE registration
| What you pay | Amount | Paid where |
|---|---|---|
| O’level verification code (one sitting) | ₦1,500 | Exam body’s verification site |
| O’level verification code (two sittings) | ₦2,000 | Either exam body’s platform |
| JAMB NCE application fee (new applicants) | ₦3,500 | JAMB portal, at a CBT centre or the college’s IPRC |
| CBT/IPRC registration charge | ₦700 | Same centre |
| 2026 UTME candidates moved to NCE | ₦700 only (no ₦3,500) | Same centre |
JAMB processes you for one mode of entry at a time. Once a college recommends you for NCE, any UTME or Direct Entry process you have running is suspended. Candidates who sat the 2026 UTME with a college of education as first choice were moved to the NCE process and only paid the ₦700 charge.
Warning
Every genuine FCE Eha-Amufu admission shows on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. Do not pay anyone who promises an NCE place. Pay JAMB fees on the JAMB portal at a registration centre, and college fees only through an invoice from the college’s own portal. If the college has not confirmed that your combination is running this session, ask before you pay.
The college’s screening
JAMB’s flow leaves the choice of candidates to the college. FCE Eha-Amufu has not published how it screens for 2026/2027. Blog reprints of earlier notices describe an online form: create a profile on the college portal, generate a Remita invoice and pay at a bank, upload a passport photograph, enter your JAMB, O’level and birth certificate details, then print the acknowledgement. The adverts also say candidates must pass the college’s selection process. The 2021/2022 advert put the form at ₦2,000; no current fee, date or test format has been published. Blogs name fceehaamufu.com and fceehaamufu.edu.ng as the college’s sites, and I could not confirm either.
Worked example
This shows how the published rules apply. There is no published formula, so there is no aggregate to compute. The candidates are invented.
Chiamaka wants CRS/Igbo. Her NECO 2026: English C5, Mathematics C6, CRS B2, Igbo B3, Literature in English C6, Civic Education C4, Biology D7.
- Credits: English, Mathematics, CRS, Igbo, Literature in English and Civic Education. Six credits.
- English and Mathematics: both credits.
- Relevant subjects: CRS (B2) and Igbo (B3) match both halves of her pairing.
- Sittings: one.
- JAMB-side cost: ₦1,500 verification (one sitting) + ₦3,500 + ₦700 = ₦5,700, before any college form.
- My verdict: a strong application. With Literature as well, CRS/English would also be open to her.
Ifeanyi has English, Mathematics, Economics, Government and Geography, but no CRS. He meets the four-credit count, but nothing on his result supports CRS. I would point him to Social Studies (Double Major) instead, where all his credits count.
Admission chances and advice
- Pick a pairing you can teach: CRS/Igbo and CRS/English give you two subjects schools in the South East need.
- Fix Mathematics first: it is compulsory in the college’s advert for every course.
- Register early: the college can only recommend candidates whose registration and O’level have reached it.
- Use your other two choices: JAMB asks for three colleges of education; pick two more that run CRS.
- Check CAPS often: an offer not accepted within four weeks is withdrawn.
Studying CRS at FCE Eha-Amufu
NCE CRS trains you to teach Christian Religious Studies in primary and junior secondary schools, alongside your second subject. The regular NCE runs for three years. The outline below follows the usual NCE pattern; the college’s course handbook was not available.
What you study
- The Bible: Old and New Testament studies, with themes and key passages examined closely.
- Church history: the early church and the growth of Christianity in Africa and Nigeria.
- Christian ethics: moral teaching and how it applies to family, work and public life.
- Religion in society: comparative study of other faiths, including African traditional religion.
- Teaching CRS: methods and lesson planning, then supervised teaching practice.
- Your second subject and education courses: the full NCE content of English, Igbo, Social Studies or Music, plus education and general studies courses.
Accreditation and status
The NCCE list of accredited colleges (checked 29 October 2026) shows Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu (Isi-Uzo LGA, Enugu State) as a federal college of education with status “open”. The list does not show each programme, so the accreditation status of CRS specifically is not confirmed. In 2016 NCCE accredited 17 of the college’s 20 programmes and gave the other three interim accreditation, according to Myschool, but the report did not name them.
A House of Representatives bill to upgrade the college to a Federal University of Education passed second reading. I found no record of a third reading, Senate passage or presidential assent, so it remains a college of education admitting NCE students under NCCE rules. Treat any advert using the name “Federal University of Education, Eha-Amufu” with care until the college itself announces a change.
Careers and next steps
- Teaching: CRS and your second subject in primary and junior secondary schools. NCE is the minimum teaching qualification in Nigeria, and teachers register with TRCN.
- A degree: JAMB’s brochure for Education and CRS lists NCE merit in Religious Studies and one other Arts subject as a Direct Entry qualification.
- Church and community work: Sunday school and youth ministry, mission schools and faith-based NGOs.

Mistakes that cost NCE applicants a place
- No Mathematics credit: the advert names it for every course.
- No CRS credit: leaves a CRS application with nothing to stand on.
- Skipping JAMB registration: the UTME is waived for four-credit candidates, but the JAMB NCE registration and CAPS are not.
- Leaving Awaiting Results unresolved: the college cannot recommend you until your result is uploaded.
- Different names on documents: make sure your O’level, birth certificate and JAMB record match.
- Letting the CAPS offer lapse: JAMB gave four weeks to accept in 2026/2027.
FCE Eha-Amufu CRS: frequently asked questions
What is the JAMB cut-off mark for CRS in FCE Eha-Amufu? For NCE CRS there is no UTME cut-off if you have at least four O’level credits. The last figure for colleges of education was JAMB’s national minimum of 100 in 2025/2026.
Is CRS a double major at FCE Eha-Amufu? Not on the course lists I checked. CRS appears paired with English, Igbo, Social Studies or Music. Ask the college if you want CRS alone.
Can I study CRS at FCE Eha-Amufu without Literature in English? Yes, for CRS/Igbo, CRS/Social Studies and Music/CRS. For CRS/English I would want a Literature credit, since the college asks for two credits relevant to your course.
How much is the JAMB NCE form for CRS at Eha-Amufu? JAMB charges ₦3,500 plus a ₦700 centre charge, and the O’level verification code costs ₦1,500 for one sitting or ₦2,000 for two. The college’s own screening fee for 2026/2027 has not been published.
Sources and updates
