ASCOAST Ganye Agric and Bio-Environmental Engineering Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028

ASCOAST Ganye has not published a cut-off mark for ND Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology. JAMB’s minimum is 100, and the 2026 agric UTME waiver does not cover engineering. See subjects, O’level and NBTE status for 2027/2028.

The ASCOAST Ganye Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering cut off mark has not been published, so the figure to plan with is JAMB’s 100, the 2026/2027 minimum UTME score for polytechnics and monotechnics. Unlike the college’s farming courses, this one is an engineering course, so the 2026 no-UTME rule for agriculture ND does not help you. You need the UTME with Mathematics and Physics or Technical Drawing, and five O’level credits including English, Mathematics and Physics.

2027/2028 update: ASCOAST cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics, because ASCOAST has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Some context first. The Adamawa State College of Agriculture, Ganye was renamed the Adamawa State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ganye (ASCOAST) by a 2024 state law that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri signed in November 2024. In March 2026 a National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) team visited the college to assess ten programmes for accreditation, and Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering was one of them (listed as “Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering”). The result of that visit has not been published. I found no ASCOAST website, admission portal or 2026/2027 advert, so this page sticks to JAMB’s national rules and the brochure, and labels my advice as mine.

A warning about one source. Myschool’s ASCOAST page shows admission news (a first batch list of 23 September 2026 and a screening exercise on adcoties.edu.ng) that belongs to ADCOTIES, the Adamawa State College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies, Gulak. That is a different college. Do not use those dates or that portal for Ganye.

If a blog gives a single “ASCOAST cut-off mark” for every course, check where it came from. I found no document from the college setting any figure, so the only official numbers are JAMB’s national floors. Never treat a blog figure as official until the college publishes it.

Does the 2026 UTME exemption apply to Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology?

No. In May 2026 the Federal Government exempted NCE candidates and ND candidates in non-technology agricultural and agriculture-related courses from the UTME. JAMB described the ND group as “Agriculture non-Engineering Courses”. Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology does not fall into that group, so you still write the UTME and need at least 100, JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics. The word “Engineering” matters here: JAMB’s own description of the exempt group was “Agriculture non-Engineering Courses”.

Safe target score for Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering at ASCOAST (my advice)

This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not an ASCOAST rule. A college whose courses are still awaiting an NBTE result rarely has more applicants than places, so the national floor may be enough. Still, a margin protects you if the college ranks candidates.

UTME scoreMy read for ASCOAST Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering
Below 100Below JAMB’s polytechnic minimum; CAPS will not let the college admit you
100 to 129Meets the floor; may be enough if applicants are few
130 to 159Comfortable. This is my safe target
160 and aboveStrong; you could also look at bigger polytechnics

ASCOAST Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering subject combination and O’level requirements

RequirementWhat the JAMB polytechnic brochure says
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics and Physics or Technical Drawing, plus Chemistry or another science subject (the brochure line reads “Mathematics and Physics/Technical Drawing, Chemistry or any two Science subjects”)
O’levelFive credits including Mathematics, English Language and Physics, plus any two others (Chemistry is a sensible choice)
ASCOAST remark in the brochureNone found; the general rule above applies
SittingsNot more than two sittings is the usual polytechnic rule; ASCOAST has not published its own
Awaiting resultsNot published by ASCOAST; CAPS cannot process you until the result is uploaded

Physics is the subject that most often keeps applicants out of engineering technology courses. Agricultural Science, Biology or Technical Drawing make useful extra credits, because the course mixes machinery with soil, water and crop systems.

Direct Entry and HND

The ND is the entry point, so there is no Direct Entry into ND. On HND, a blog reported in May 2026 that ASCOAST had opened a 2026/2027 HND form for three programmes, but it did not name them and I could not confirm it with the college. HND normally needs an ND with at least a lower credit and a year of industrial experience. Ask ASCOAST whether Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering is one of the HND programmes before you plan around it.

How ASCOAST screening works

ASCOAST has not published a screening exercise, form price, dates or portal for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 in any source I reached. A blog headline claims the 2026/2027 form is out, but the page would not open and I could not check what it said. Colleges like this usually sell a form, check O’level and UTME documents, and then propose candidates on CAPS. Until the college publishes its process, treat any form link you are sent as unconfirmed.

Worked example for an ND Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering applicant (illustrative)

ASCOAST has not published an aggregate method, so this example only tests a candidate against JAMB’s rules and the brochure.

Emmanuel scored 138 in the UTME with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. His one WAEC sitting has English C6, Mathematics B3, Physics C5, Chemistry C6, Agricultural Science C4 and Technical Drawing D7.

  1. UTME check: 138 clears 100 and sits in my comfortable band.
  2. Subject check: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry fit the brochure line.
  3. O’level check: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science are five credits.
  4. Next step: confirm ASCOAST Ganye is his choice, upload his O’level and watch CAPS.

Zainab scored 104 with Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, but no Physics in the UTME. Her score clears the floor, but her subjects may not match the brochure line, which leans on Physics or Technical Drawing. I would advise her to look at Agricultural Technology instead, which accepts Biology and Chemistry.

Your chances of getting Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering at ASCOAST

ASCOAST does not publish applicant numbers, and engineering technology courses at small colleges rarely fill up. In my judgement 120 or more with the right UTME subjects and a Physics credit puts you in a good position. Candidates who miss out usually lack Physics.

  • Pick ASCOAST correctly on JAMB. Make sure the institution you select is the Ganye college, not ADCOTIES Gulak or another Adamawa college.
  • Get your O’level onto CAPS early. Many polytechnic admissions stall because the result was never uploaded.
  • Ask about NBTE status. A course still awaiting accreditation can be delayed or paused.
  • Watch CAPS. The offer is not valid until you accept it there.

How to apply for Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering at ASCOAST, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register for the UTME: choose Use of English plus the three subjects above, and pick the Ganye college with Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering.
  3. Score at least 100 if you write the UTME: that is JAMB’s polytechnic minimum. My safe target is in the table above.
  4. Upload your O’level: at a JAMB centre, so CAPS can see your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results.
  5. Make ASCOAST your choice: if it was not, use JAMB change of institution before admissions close.
  6. Buy the ASCOAST form only from the college: it has not published a portal in any source I reached. Visit or call the admissions office in Ganye before you pay.
  7. Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  8. Pay the acceptance fee and register: ASCOAST has not published its fees. Pay only through the channel on your admission letter.

JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for polytechnics and monotechnics, and that window runs until 31 December 2026. A 2027/2028 deadline will come with the 2027 policy meeting.

Warning

The Federal Government has said that any admission done outside JAMB CAPS is illegal and will not be recognised. If someone offers you a place that does not show on CAPS, or asks for money to “process” one, walk away.

Studying Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology at ASCOAST

ASCOAST is a state-owned college in Ganye, Adamawa State. It has not published its school structure, so I have not placed Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering in a named school. The course trains technicians for farm machinery, irrigation and the soil and water side of farming, which suits the farming country around Ganye.

What you study

  • Farm power and machinery: tractors, engines and implements, maintenance and repair.
  • Soil and water engineering: irrigation, drainage, erosion control and small dams.
  • Processing and storage: crop processing machines and storage structures.
  • Engineering basics: technical drawing, workshop practice, surveying and engineering mathematics.
  • Industrial training: SIWES placement in a farm, workshop or agency.

Duration and accreditation

An NBTE National Diploma normally takes two years, including a period of industrial training (SIWES). ASCOAST has not stated its own duration. On accreditation, the most I can confirm is that the course was one of the ten NBTE assessed in March 2026; the result has not been published. Engineering technology NDs are also of interest to COREN for later registration of technicians; I found no COREN record for this course at ASCOAST. Ask the college for its NBTE letter before you accept.

Careers after the ND

  • Farm machinery technician: with mechanisation centres, tractor hire services and large farms.
  • Irrigation and water projects: with state agencies and river basin authorities.
  • Processing businesses: mills, rice and grain processing plants.
  • Further study: HND in Agricultural Engineering Technology or a degree in Agricultural Engineering.

If you are still preparing for the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts.

Mistakes Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering applicants make

  • Skipping the UTME because it is an “agric” course: the 2026 waiver excludes engineering courses.
  • Writing the UTME without Physics or Technical Drawing: the brochure line leans on one of them.
  • Using ADCOTIES Gulak dates or portal for Ganye: Myschool shows that college’s news on the ASCOAST page.
  • Paying for a form from a WhatsApp link: ASCOAST has not published a portal. Confirm at the college first.
  • Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee and college registration are separate steps.

ASCOAST Ganye Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering cut off mark: frequently asked questions

Is Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering exempted from UTME? No. The 2026 exemption covers non-technology agriculture courses; JAMB described it as “Agriculture non-Engineering Courses”, so this course needs the UTME.

Do I need Physics for Agricultural Engineering at ASCOAST? Yes, in practice. The brochure asks for Physics or Technical Drawing in the UTME and a Physics credit at O’level.

Is the course accredited? It was among ten programmes NBTE assessed at the college in March 2026; the result has not been published.

Sources and updates

The 2026/2027 polytechnic minimum of 100, the 31 December 2026 deadline and the warning that admissions outside CAPS are illegal come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of 11 May 2026 on JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting; the UTME exemption for NCE and non-technology agriculture ND candidates was also reported by TheNigeriaLawyer the same day, and JAMB’s registration flow for those candidates is in JAMB’s 2026 NCE and ND registration guide. The 2025/2026 minimum of 100 is from Nairametrics, 8 July 2025. The rename to ASCOAST is from the Adamawa State Government report of 8 November 2024, and the NBTE accreditation visit and list of ten programmes are from the Adamawa State Government report of 30 March 2026 and Daily Trust (6 April 2026). The UTME and O’level lines are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure, checked on 3 November 2026. The HND claim is from a May 2026 blog post (abstechconnect) and is unconfirmed. ASCOAST’s own cut-off, form, screening and fees were not published in any source reached. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when ASCOAST or JAMB publishes the 2027/2028 position.
