The Fed Poly Ohodo cut off mark for Computer Science is 100 in the UTME, the national minimum JAMB set for polytechnics for 2026/2027. Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (FEDPOD) in Enugu State has not published a separate departmental figure, so 100 is the only official number. It makes you eligible to apply. It does not guarantee a place, and I explain below what score I would aim for.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Before you plan around that number, read this. Fed Poly Ohodo advertised ND Computer Science in its official 2025/2026 notice and again in its 2026/2027 notice, but Computer Science is not on JAMB’s course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, as Myschool reprints it. That list has only two courses: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. Unless JAMB adds Computer Science for the polytechnic, a UTME candidate cannot be offered it through CAPS. Check the live JAMB e-brochure when you register, and look at the alternatives further down: the two courses FEDPOD does have on JAMB’s list, and the same course at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY.
Below are the cut-off history, my safe target, the UTME and O’level rules from JAMB’s brochure, the screening details that exist, worked examples, the CAPS steps and the Enugu alternatives.
Fed Poly Ohodo cut off mark for Computer Science at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |

| Fed Poly Ohodo departmental cut-off for Computer Science | Not published | No figure in the official or reprinted notices |
| My safe target score (advice) | 140 or higher; 160 is comfortable | Consultant advice, not a FEDPOD rule |
| School at FEDPOD | School of Science and Technology | Official 2025/2026 notice |
| Level | National Diploma (ND), full-time | No HND Computer Science advertised for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 |
| On FEDPOD’s JAMB course list (Myschool reprint) | No | Only EEE and SLT listed, checked 29 October 2026 |
| UTME subjects | English, Mathematics and two of Geography, Physics, Economics, Chemistry | JAMB brochure; no FEDPOD remark |
| O’level | Five credits: Mathematics, a basic science and three others; English and Physics credits compulsory | JAMB brochure; no FEDPOD remark |
Is Computer Science on Fed Poly Ohodo’s JAMB course list?
No, not on the reprint I checked on 29 October 2026. Myschool’s copy of the JAMB institution course list for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo (shown as FPO) has exactly two entries, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology and Science Laboratory Technology. The polytechnic itself lists ND Computer Science in the 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng, and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool repeats it. The Rector also told Blueprint in April 2025 that Computer Science was one of three programmes mounted and accredited after he took office, so the course exists at the polytechnic; the gap is on the JAMB side.
Here is what that means for a UTME candidate. Every polytechnic admission now goes through JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. CAPS can only carry an offer for a course JAMB has approved for that school. If Computer Science is still missing from FEDPOD’s list when you register, you cannot pick it, and FEDPOD cannot offer it to you on CAPS. A reprint can lag behind a young school, so the list may change, but nobody should plan on that.
- When you register for the 2027 UTME, search for Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo on JAMB’s e-brochure and see whether Computer Science appears. If it does, choose it and the rest of this page applies.
- If it does not, contact the admissions office (admissions@fedpod.edu.ng, 08160290499, 09077772977) before you register and ask whether JAMB has approved the course for the school. Do not pay for a FEDPOD form for this course until the answer is clear.
- If it is still not listed, choose a course FEDPOD does have on JAMB’s list that fits your subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry fit Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology), or choose Computer Science at IMT Enugu or ESPOLY, where it is on JAMB’s list.
- Refuse any “arrangement” that skips CAPS. An offer that never appears on CAPS cannot be regularised later.
Not on JAMB’s list for FEDPOD
Computer Science is advertised by Fed Poly Ohodo but is missing from its JAMB course list as reprinted by Myschool. Unless JAMB adds it, you cannot be offered it through CAPS. Confirm it on the JAMB e-brochure before you register or pay for anything.
Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark history for Computer Science
Fed Poly Ohodo has not published a departmental cut-off for Computer Science in any session I could trace. The figures that exist are the national floors JAMB sets for every polytechnic.
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (Nairametrics and Channels TV, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | Not published | Fed Poly Ohodo departmental cut-off for Computer Science | No figure on fedpod.edu.ng or in the reprinted notices |
Because FEDPOD is a federal polytechnic, its candidates write the same UTME and face the same national floor as every other polytechnic. A departmental cut-off, if the school ever publishes one, would sit above 100, never below it.
Safe target score for Computer Science at Fed Poly Ohodo (my advice)
FEDPOD has never published a score band for Computer Science. The bands below are my judgement from how Computer Science fills at polytechnics in the South East, where it is usually one of the most applied-for ND courses. Use them for planning only.
| Your UTME score | My read for Computer Science at FEDPOD |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any polytechnic |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible to apply; you need strong O’level credits and an early application |
| 120 to 139 | Possible, depending on how many apply |
| 140 to 159 | Competitive |
| 160 and above | Strong for ND Computer Science at FEDPOD |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 140. FEDPOD is young and smaller than Nekede or IMT, so competition may be lighter than at those schools, but nobody outside the polytechnic has seen its applicant numbers. A higher score also keeps Computer Science open at IMT Enugu if the FEDPOD listing problem is not solved by the time you apply.
Catchment and state of origin
Federal polytechnics admit candidates from every state. FEDPOD has not published a merit, catchment or quota split for its ND courses, so your UTME score, the right subjects and complete O’level credits count for more than your state of origin.
Fed Poly Ohodo Computer Science subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Computer Science at Fed Poly Ohodo |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Geography, Physics, Economics or Chemistry |
| FEDPOD remark (UTME) | None in the brochure |
| Combinations that fit | English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry; or English, Mathematics, Physics, Economics; or English, Mathematics, Economics, Geography |
| O’level | Five credits in Mathematics, a basic science and three from Economics, Geography, Government/History, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, English Language, Typewriting |
| Compulsory credits | English Language and Physics |
| FEDPOD remark (O’level) | None in the brochure |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (SSCE or GCE) |
| Direct Entry | Not used for ND; ND entry is through the UTME and CAPS |
Two details trip people up. First, Physics is optional in the UTME (you can register Mathematics, Economics and Geography) but a credit in Physics is compulsory at O’level. The brochure lets IMT Enugu, Abia Poly and Adamawa Poly accept a pass in Physics, but there is no such concession for FEDPOD, so plan on a credit. Second, Biology is not one of the UTME options. A candidate who wrote English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry does not fit Computer Science in the polytechnic brochure.
I would register English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. That fits Computer Science and also keeps Computer Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering at FEDPOD within reach.
Sittings, awaiting results and Direct Entry
FEDPOD has not published a sittings rule for 2026/2027. JAMB’s polytechnic brochure, as reprinted, does not give a sittings limit for Computer Science either, though some schools in the remarks, such as Yaba Tech, ask for no more than two. Plan on two sittings at most. You can register for the UTME while awaiting results, but CAPS cannot carry an offer until the result is uploaded. There is no Direct Entry into ND1, and FEDPOD did not advertise HND Computer Science for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027.
How Fed Poly Ohodo screens ND Computer Science candidates
Fed Poly Ohodo announces admissions but publishes very little about how it ranks applicants. The official 2025/2026 notice on fedpod.edu.ng (17 November 2025) and the 2026/2027 notice reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026) list the programmes and send applicants to the portal. Neither gives a form fee, a closing date or a screening format. So the honest position is that we know the gate (JAMB’s 100 and your O’level) and not the ranking method.
| Detail | What we know | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who applies | Candidates who chose Fed Poly Ohodo and scored at least JAMB’s polytechnic minimum | Standard JAMB rule |
| Where | portal.fedpod.edu.ng, linked from fedpod.edu.ng | Official (2025/2026 notice) |
| Form fee | Not published | Confirm on the portal before paying |
| Screening method | Not published (no post-UTME date, test format or aggregate formula announced) | Ask the admissions office |
| Modes | Full-time and part-time ND and HND invited for 2026/2027 | Notice as reprinted by Myschool; it does not say which courses run part-time |
| Admission deadline for polytechnics (2026/2027 cycle) | Runs until 31 December 2026 | Official (JAMB, via NAN) |
| Time to accept an offer on CAPS | Four weeks | Official (JAMB, via NAN) |
| Enquiries | admissions@fedpod.edu.ng; 08160290499; 09077772977 | Official notice |
Worked examples for Computer Science applicants
FEDPOD has not published an aggregate formula, so these examples only measure the gap between a UTME score, the national floor and my safe target, and then check the subjects against the brochure.
Chinedu scored 152 in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. From one WAEC sitting he has C6 in English, B3 in Mathematics, C5 in Physics, C4 in Chemistry, C6 in Economics and B3 in Biology.
- Eligibility: 152 minus 100 = 52. He is clear of JAMB’s polytechnic minimum.
- Against my safe target: 152 minus 140 = 12. He is in the competitive band.
- UTME subjects: Mathematics plus Physics and Chemistry match the rule.
- O’level: Mathematics and a basic science (Chemistry) are there, with Physics, Economics and Biology as the other three. English and Physics, the compulsory credits, are both present.
- What I would advise: confirm the course shows under FEDPOD on JAMB, then apply as soon as the portal opens.
Amaka scored 128 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Government. Government is not one of the UTME options for Computer Science, so this combination does not fit, whatever her score. Her subjects do fit Accountancy at FEDPOD (Mathematics plus two of Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts and Economics), so a change of course to Accountancy is the realistic move if she wants Fed Poly Ohodo this year.
How to apply for Computer Science at Fed Poly Ohodo, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Confirm the course on JAMB: when you register, check that Computer Science appears under Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo. If it does not, contact the admissions office before you choose, as explained above.
- Register the right subjects: English, Mathematics and two of Geography, Physics, Economics or Chemistry. I prefer Physics and Chemistry. If you picked another school first, a JAMB change of institution is possible while the polytechnic is still admitting, and a JAMB change of course fixes a wrong course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: go to an accredited CBT centre and have your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result uploaded. No institution can recommend you on CAPS without it.
- Fill the Fed Poly Ohodo form: when the admission notice appears on fedpod.edu.ng, apply on portal.fedpod.edu.ng. Use an email address and phone number you check daily, and print every receipt and acknowledgement page.
- Check your status: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and open CAPS. Also watch the polytechnic portal for its own list.
- Accept within four weeks: JAMB gave candidates four weeks to accept 2026 offers. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains every status you might see.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Ohodo has not published its acceptance or school fees in any source I reached. Pay only against an invoice generated on the polytechnic portal.
Anyone who offers to sell you a Computer Science place, or a slot on a “special list”, is outside the process. Every genuine FEDPOD offer appears on JAMB CAPS.
Your chances of getting Computer Science at Fed Poly Ohodo
The first hurdle here is unusual: making sure the course can be selected for FEDPOD on JAMB at all. Once that is settled, Computer Science is likely to be one of the busier courses at the polytechnic, because it is one of only two computing courses there (the other is Computer Engineering) and computing courses draw applicants everywhere. Your score, the Physics credit and an early application will decide it.
FEDPOD has a small intake compared with older polytechnics, and it has not released admission lists with numbers. If you have the right subjects and 140 or more, I think your chances are good. Between 100 and 120, apply, but take the backup options seriously.
Studying Computer Science at Fed Poly Ohodo
ND Computer Science is a two-year full-time programme in the NBTE pattern, with industrial attachment (SIWES) built in. FEDPOD has not put its course outline online, so the list below describes what ND Computer Science covers at Nigerian polytechnics generally.
What you study
- Programming: introductory programming, then languages such as Python, Java or C, and object-oriented programming.
- Computer systems: hardware, logic, computer architecture and operating systems.
- Data: file organisation, database design and SQL.
- Networks and the web: networking basics, internet technology and web development.
- Mathematics: algebra, calculus and statistics for computing.
- Systems analysis: designing and documenting software for real users.
- Practical work: lab projects, SIWES with a company and a final project.
Accreditation
The Rector told Blueprint in April 2025 that Computer Science was one of three programmes mounted and accredited after an NBTE quality assurance visit. The 2026/2027 notice, as reprinted, says all the programmes it lists are approved and accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). At the third matriculation on 22 May 2026, the Rector, Dr Ediri Emmanuel Agada, also cited NBTE accreditation of additional ND and HND programmes. NBTE has not published a programme-by-programme result for Fed Poly Ohodo that I could find, so the exact status and date for Computer Science are not confirmed. Ask the department to show the current NBTE letter during clearance.

About the polytechnic
Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo is in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, beside Ohodo Bus Stop along the Opi to 9th Mile road, and it is the only federal polytechnic in the state. It is young: it held its third matriculation on 22 May 2026. In an April 2025 interview with Blueprint, the Rector said the school ran only Electrical and Electronics Engineering when he took office, and that it then mounted Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science and Public Administration. At the 2026 matriculation he asked for help building the access road to the permanent site. Blueprint also reported a finished science building and business school building, with the hostel, library and refectory about 80% complete at the time. Expect a small campus that is still being built up.

Alternatives to Fed Poly Ohodo for Computer Science in Enugu State
If Computer Science does not show under Fed Poly Ohodo when you register, or the admissions office cannot tell you how it admits into the course, these Enugu State schools are the realistic alternatives.
| School | Type | Why it is an option |
|---|---|---|
| Fed Poly Ohodo: Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology | Same polytechnic, on JAMB’s list | UTME Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; O’level credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus two. Fits a Computer Science candidate who wrote Physics and Chemistry. See our Fed Poly Ohodo cut-off mark for Electrical and Electronics Engineering. |
| Fed Poly Ohodo: Science Laboratory Technology | Same polytechnic, on JAMB’s list | Only if your UTME was Mathematics, Biology and Physics. See our Fed Poly Ohodo Science Laboratory Technology cut-off mark. |
| IMT Enugu (Institute of Management and Technology) | State polytechnic | Computer Science is on its JAMB list (Myschool reprint); brochure remark says IMT requires Physics in the UTME. See our IMT Computer Science guide. |
| Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo (ESPOLY) | State polytechnic | Computer Science is on its JAMB list as reprinted by Myschool |
| Federal Cooperative College, Oji River | Federal college (ND and HND) | Reported admitting into Computer Science; its JAMB listing was not confirmed. See our FCC Oji River Computer Science guide. |
If you use IMT as your backup, register Physics in the UTME: IMT’s brochure remark makes it compulsory there, while FEDPOD’s general rule leaves it optional. English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry fits all three schools.
Mistakes that cost Computer Science applicants a FEDPOD place
- Assuming the course is on JAMB: check that it shows under FEDPOD when you register.
- Treating 100 as admission: it only makes you eligible to apply.
- Registering Biology: it is not one of the UTME options for polytechnic Computer Science.
- No Physics credit: it is compulsory at O’level, even if you skipped Physics in the UTME.
- No O’level upload on CAPS: FEDPOD cannot recommend you without it.
- Paying an agent: offers only come through CAPS and the polytechnic portal.
Fed Poly Ohodo cut off mark for Computer Science: frequently asked questions
What is the cut off mark for Computer Science in Federal Polytechnic Ohodo? It is 100, JAMB’s 2026 minimum for polytechnics. FEDPOD has not published a separate figure, so I would aim for 140 or more.
Does Federal Polytechnic Ohodo offer Computer Science? It advertises ND Computer Science in its 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 notices, but the course is not on JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic as reprinted by Myschool. Unless JAMB adds it, you cannot be offered it through CAPS, so check the e-brochure when you register.
Is Physics compulsory for Computer Science in Fed Poly Ohodo? A Physics credit at O’level is compulsory. In the UTME, Physics is one of four options and you need two of them with Mathematics and English.
Can I use awaiting result for FEDPOD Computer Science? You can register for the UTME while awaiting results, but you cannot be offered admission on CAPS until the result is out and uploaded.
Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics in 2026, the 31 December 2026 admission deadline for the 2026/2027 cycle, the four-week acceptance window and the warning that admissions outside CAPS are illegal come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 minimum of 100 is from Nairametrics and Channels TV (8 July 2025). The 2025/2026 programme list, portal and contacts are from the polytechnic’s official admission notice (17 November 2025), and the 2026/2027 list and NBTE statement from the notice as reprinted by Myschool (24 May 2026). The course list JAMB shows for the school is from Myschool’s Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo course list, checked on 29 October 2026. The UTME subjects, O’level list and other schools’ remarks are from Myschool’s reprint of the JAMB polytechnic brochure entry for Computer Science, also checked on 29 October 2026. The Rector’s remarks on programmes and facilities are from Blueprint (9 April 2025) and the polytechnic’s matriculation report (22 May 2026). Form fees, screening format and acceptance fees have not been published. The safe target scores and the worked examples are my own advice.
